These 6.5 inch speakers were very well made and installed easily. The sound is bright and captures the individual instruments with good clarity and definition.
As a caveat I have them installed on a screened porch and I don't push them hard.

Bought 2 pair for media room for use with both HDTV surround system and conventional 2-channel stereo system. What an improvement over our floor model speakers (front channel) and bookshelf (rear channel) set-up. A must-have component, though, is a quality sub-woofer. Although the ATC6 does a great job with the high bass thru mid-range thru highs, the sub-woofer really completes the package. Installation in existing construction takes thought and careful planning; be ready to modify your plans as you encounter problems, and take your time.

For the money, the build quality of the pheonix gold in-celing speakers is excellent and their performance is more than adequate for my distributed audio application. They have some features not found on the entry level in-celing speakers from other manufacturers including a 1" fero-cooled, pivoting tweeter, and a non-paper 6.5" woofer w/ a good rubber surround. Some sites are selling these for the retail price of $170/pair so the Amazon prices are great. These and the in-wall version would also be a good option for an entry level HT system and will sound better than small satellite or cube speakers. Don't expect tons of bass from these or any in-celing speaker, but I can hear the drum and bass line when listening to background music.

I bought 2 pairs and just installed it one of them 2 weeks for upstair sound systems set, so far I'm satisfied with the speaker. It gives nice sound although my radio is an old wall Nutone mono radio/intercom . I connect the old radio with old used boombox (from my nephew) with RCA cable and played the cassette and CD from the boombox, the sound is what I'm looking for. Again very good product, recommended, and thinking of buying another pair for downstair set.

I am using these speakers as my rear right and left in a 5.1 home theater install. They dont get used as much as my fronts, but they still produce good quality sound. The frame is plastic though so you need to be careful installing them. Otherwise, I am very happy with this purchase.

The Phoenix Gold ATi6 in-wall speakers are an outstanding value at Amazon's price. The quality of materials and construction are far above what I expected at this price point. The sound quality is appropriate for this type of speaker, and is clearly a step up from other speakers in the sub $100 arena. I drive them with an Adcom 545II, and power handling is on the upper end of what I expected from a single 6.5 inch driver. Installation could not have been simpler, and the beefy push terminals were a pleasant surprise.
perfect compromise for surround sound.......2006-03-16
Yes, these are not audiophile grade speakers. However, I can drink $2 Chuck and Insignia (Phelps) and appreciate them for what they are. These speakers installed easily and are clean and attractive on my walls. The pointable tweeter is a nice touch as I can aim them toward my ears on my couch. Most of the sound coming from them when watching movies/tv is appropriate for the quality of the speakers. I no longer have to wonder where the wires will run or the speaker stands will go for my surround speakers, its all in the wall. Buy 'em, you won't regret it.

Great Speaker For Under $100 Pair. Sounds great. Easy Installation. I Installed in a panel drop ceiling. Cut a 1/4 board for the same size as panel for support in ceiling(weight of speaker would of caved in panel ceiling). I had extra panel boards laying around, alot cheaper then paying $40+ for there installation brakets. (Half the cost of the speakers!!!) They send cut out templates for speaker holes. Real easy, I ain't much of a handy-man either. Hooked it up to a new SONY STR-DE197 receiver($135 or less). They pound for 8 inchers (not alot of bass, in ceiling speakers, duh). You could have stereo in every room for cheap, as long as you do the work yourself.
Home theater.......2007-07-13
I have these speakers as my front speakers in a 5.1 surround home theater. They were easy to install and sound great. They are made of plastic though so you need to be careful installing them. I surrounded mine with insulation to reduce the bass and it truly sounds better than the cinema. You really cant go wrong with these speakers, they are inexpensive and produce good sound. I continuously am impressed with their sound.

I HAVE JUST STARTED WITH HOME THEATRE INSTALLS. I HAVE COMPAIRED OTHER SPEAKERS, AND I HAVE TO SAY EVEN WITH THE DIAL UP THE SOUND IS CLEAN AND VERY CLEAR. MY NEIGHBOR NEXT DOOR STATED HE ENJOYED THE MOVIE I WAS WATCHING AS MUCH AS I DID FROM HIS OWN LIVINGROOM. I FIND THESE A GREAT BARGIN. VERY IMPRESSED.

I was planning on spending a lot more money on ceiling speakers when i came across these. I figured i could not lose because the whole set was less thatn what one of the speakers that i wanted costed. I have to say i am very happy and very impressed. I have already ordered another set for a friend who did not believe what i had paid for these top quality speakers. I would suggest these to anyone looking for a nice top quality set of speakers.

Excellent speakers for the money.......2007-08-03
What a day-I ran the speaker wire from my receiver inside through the attic (in Aug) and to our new speakers outside-I was exhausted and I was so happy to find out that the speakers were a breeze to hook up and mount. The only problem we encountered were the tabs that you screw into the top and bottom of the speakers. The heads of the screws were not long enough to hold the speakers securely. Quick trip to the hardware store for longer screws and we were listening to music on our deck. I will definitley buy these speakers for future outside listening pleasure-they sound great!!

I purchased 2 sets (4 speakers) for use near our pool. For the price the speakers sound great and are decent looking. The bracket seems a bit flimsy (it's plastic) however; once mounted with the speakers screwed in they are fine. I'm considering purchasing another pair for inside the garage. I received them quickly and overall I'm surprised and impressed for the price.

Disapointing.......2007-05-12
We purchased this amplifier to drive a 5-ohm load based on the manufacturers claim of a low impedance 4-ohm capability. The unit arrived dead out of the box. Amazon promptly credited us and provided a return label. We purchased an identical amplifier locally because of time constraints. When connected to the 5-ohm load it worked but got extremely hot and we shut it down. We double checked the ohm load and it was 5-ohms. We returned the amp and purchased a completely different amp in slightly higher price range from a different manufacturer. The new amp worked fine. The audiosource is OK for a basic, small 8-ohm load and does not have the low impedance characteristics advertised by the manufacturer.

I have owned two of these amps for almost a year now and I am very fond of them. I have four bookshelf speakers that were being power by a stereo receiver. This stereo receiver bragged that it produced 100 Watts per channel for four channel. So, supposedly each of my speakers was getting 100 Watts of power. However, power in the audio industry is not well defined. Believe me as I am a physicist, they are pretty wacky in the audio business. To calculate power, one uses the formula Power=V^2/R, where V is the RMS voltage and R is the resistance of the circuit or load. Sorry this is getting a bit technical, but the moral of the story is the audio industry feels free to choose R at will. This means they can claim any power. The sad thing is it is legal to so do. Anyway, back to the review. I bought two of these amps to power my four speaker. That means I am running 80 Watts into each speaker. This should be quieter than my old receiver, but it is not. It is much louder because these amps actually put out a real 160 Watts as opposed to my old stereo receiver which most likely put out 50 Watts per channel.
Also, the signal to noise seems excellent. These are the first amps I have owned where if I run a clean signal in and turn the volume all the way up, I do not hear a hiss coming out of my speakers. In fact, they recommend that one keeps the amps turned all the way up at all times and simply adjust the input signal volume. This is what I do an it works well. I am very satisfied this this product.

I have been an audiophile since I was a teen (over 20 years), having owned some truly high end amplifiers like Bryston, Audio Research, and currently in my main system, a McIntosh MC162. All phenomenal amps. I also happen to own an AudioSource AmpTwo and an AmpOne, both superb amps for the money. The only difference with the AmpTwo, is that it has left and right channel lit VU meters that measure watts output and 'headroom' in db units. Very cool indeed! Other than this, the AmpOne is identical to the AmpTwo. The AmpOne is set up in my home office connected to higher end equipment like Parasound and a Denon HDCD player. My speakers are the very venerable and respected bookshelf horn speakers, the JBL HLS-610, which is very well balanced and revealing of source material and equipment. And lastly, I run fairly expensive 'StraightWire' interconnect cables between my components. That said, I have been blown away by the quality and neutral sound of this amplifier! The amp sounds detailed, accurate, warm, sweet, and powerful - attributes usually found in more expensive high end amplifiers as mentioned above, usually costing thousands of dollars! Quite an amazing feat for this solid little affordable AudioSource that satisfies even high demand audiophile ears like mine. Moreover, I have tested the AmpOne and AmpTwo while driving difficult power hungry loads, such as Magneplanar 4 ohm speakers, and they performed beyond my expectations. Kudos to AudioSource for providing one of the truly 'best bang for the buck' deals in stereo amplification out there! I highly, HIGHLY recommend this product.

very flat sounding. i'm tired of people comparing other amps and thinking they are better for one reason or another.. but thats consumer audio for you... the goal should be to have flat sound that is as true to the origional recording as possible.
at any rate, this amp doesnt stray much in frequency response across the spectrum, has practically no noise (most notably, you can turn it up all the way with no audible hiss at all) and very low harmonic distorion.
the only real downside to this amp (for this price.. or mabye even a much higher price) is that it would have a pretty hard time driving some of the bigger floorstanding speakers.. but if you have a good subwoofer, who cares, right?

This product is fairly simple to use, and so it doesn't come with much instructions in the box but they really aren't needed.
I used it to split the signal from a 200 RMS watt amplifier into 10 bass shakers I installed under my theater seats. It worked well I have no complaints power distribution seems even. I have no complaints to give. If you are looking for a box to split an audio signal you won't go wrong with this.

This is a good, basic solution to adding speaker zones to your home. It's not much to look at, but does the job. My biggest complaint is the appearance; otherwise, a good buy.

This is a very simple and not-too expensive way to add remote speakers to your audio system, assuming that you do not need separate volume control of the remotes. It was duck-soup simple to hook up and performs well-- and the price was right!
