I've put video on it w/o any problem. It does take a long time to cook as all video is in .MOV (Quicktime) format. Sansa Media Converter does not support DVD menus etc during import and will not import CSS or other wise protected video content.
Viewing video on something this small was better than expected but don't bother with anything in wide screen format.
The entire E200 family is so far better than all of the C100/C200 players it's amazing. Don't even bother looking at the C series, especially if you think you might get the Sansa Base Station or about any other Dock for them. The docks work best with the E series.
Great player. Not for Beginners........2007-09-26
I bought this MP3 player to replace my Creative Zen Micro that died on me. I was leaning towards the Creative Zen V plus, which is comparable to the SanDisk Sansa e280; however, there are several reasons why I chose this player. I figured a review was in order after working with the player over a 3 month period.
Note: This review is based off of the "older" model of the Sansa e280.

This player really offers a lot to users who are looking for a decent player, even though it has a few extra frills. I only wanted to use my player for music. I am not one for burning my eyes out on a tiny screen. The radio receiver is great, even picks up stations my car cannot get. The player's sleek, small, and well built design makes it ready to go anywhere, but the buttons take some time to get used to until you find the "sweet spot." The hiccups between tracks in albums are annoying, yet are nothing too serious.
After seeing this player and the Creative Zen V Plus sitting next to each other, I was so happy I chose the Sansa e280. The Zen Vs are way too small, in my opinion, and the Sansa e280 fits well into the palm, especially if you have larger hands. Some people may be turned off about the stiff wheel, but I find it nice, since I will not skip over the track I am looking for as easily.
The real down fall of this product is the lack of a media organizer. Some people may find this terribly aggravating, especially if you have never owned an MP3 player before. I tried coping and pasting my music library into the device, which works, but everything was jumbled up. I read in a previous review on this product that mentioned a media organizer called Media Monkey. I tested it out and I really like it. The program is free and even has an itunes feel to it. There are other media organizers and I highly suggest downloading one once you get this player. The only software it comes with is the media converter for images and video clips.
Overall, I think this is a great player that provides most of the essentials, even though it lacks a crucial element for MP3 players. This player delivers and is less expensive than similar devices; definitely better than an ipod nano.
Small,light and very easy to use Mp3 player........2007-09-26
This device is great for so many reasons.It is very light and small but not so small that the buttons are hard to push.It has a very bright display that is easy on the eyes and lets you see your media without any trouble.Transferring music,photos and videos is a very simple drag and drop process that takes seconds to get done.It took only a minute or two to get this device up and running once i opened the box,all you have to do is pop in the disc that it comes with into your pc,install the software and connect the player using the usb cable that it comes with.Within 15 minutes i had all the music and photos on my pc copied to this device and have had no trouble finding all the content that i copied.This thing has 8Gb of internal built in space so you can hold thousands of songs on it wothout running out of room,but even if you do fill it up you can always just pop in a Micro SD card and make some more space.The other nice thing about this player is that it has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack so you can use normal headphones with it.The only reason i do not give it a perfect score is that it comes with a pair of Ear buds that are covered in fabric,these ear buds pop out of the ear very easily and do not feel very good after a half hour of use.I recommend that you buy a pair of Headphones that cover your ears so you don't have to put up with annoying ear pain that ear buds can cause.Over all this device is great for any music lover and the fact that you can customize the treble and bass to any way you see fit is also a nice touch.Music player,Video player,Photo viewer,Fm Radio,Voice recorder,this thing does it all.Great product.
I hated this thing until..........2007-09-23
I didn't think there was anything I could like less than *pod+*tunes. A few years back, I received little Nano as a gift, and one day it committed suicide by jumping out of my pocket into a bucket of water. I saw little Nano's demise as my chance to escape into something better. No Way! Rhapsody and the Sansa firmware made me long for little Nano back...until I discovered ROCKBOX!
For those of you that don't know, RockBox is open source firmware that will run in the player in place of the Sansa firmware (it also runs on several other mp3 players, including *pods). It is great, and its free! It's a bit technical, but these things are not toys are they?
For those of you who are whining about this player, its time for you to go back to school, and study ROCKBOX!
MP3 freeze.......2007-09-19
My daughter was so excited about getting this MP3 player as a friend has the same one but 2 GB instead of 8. She has been disappointed as the MP3 player keeps on freezing up and she has to play with buttons just to get it going. I have bought SanDisk products before and am just hoping that this is a "dud".

A great little camera with a few shortcommings.......2007-09-25
I shoot primarily with digital SLRs, but there is always a time when you don't have your camera bag with you and there is a photo opportunity. Camera phones just don't cut the cake for this (yet). For the last four years, I used a Powershot S230, and it filled that purpose wonderfully but the 3" screen on the SD750 called me in like the Sirens of mythology. In general, I have been very satisfied with the SD750, but there have been a few items I did not like.
Let me start with the positives: The 3" screen is bright and sharp. Everyone who sees the camera loves it. The face detection software works great. For taking photos of family and friends, this will be the point and shoot camera you will want to have. The price is reasonable. TIP: Don't compare cameras by simply the megapixel size! Two things create sharp photographs. The camera sensor, and the quality of the lens. With the Canon SD750, both of these are the best quality you can find in a small camera. The SD750 takes decent videos as well. The menu system is easy to navigate.
Now for the negatives: There is a price to pay for the large preview screen. Battery life is low. With five minutes of video, I was only able to shoot 200 still images before I had a low battery warning. You will want to invest in a spare battery. Digital zoom in the video mode is terrible. Be careful not to go beyond the 3x optical range when using this feature. As others have noted, the on/off button is small and recessed and requires a fingernail to operate. Results with this camera have been inconsistent. While I have taken some nice portraits, some shots have demonstrated a tendency towards soft focus. I have the silver model. Some reviewers have said that this is not the case with the black model, so you may want to stick with that. There is no image stabilization on this camera. If you don't have a steady hand, you may want to get a camera that has that feature.

The Canon SD750 is one of the best cameras around. Great quality in a compact camera. I love how the package came complete with a charger, usb cable, video cable, and even a 32mb card(although I will probably upgrade to a at least a 2gb). It has a lot of features, including color accent, which is my favorite. The tilt screen is very innovative. The 3" screen is nice to have. I'd absolutely recommend this camera to anyone searching for a point-and-shoot camera between $200-300 price range. I used to have a exilim s500, and although the style of the exilim cameras are sleek, they do not offer the performance of a Canon.

This has good sound, and is a great item for a relatively small space. the sound does not carry too far beyond where we have it. but it is a nice item and, not being a techie, it does everything and sounds better than anything we listened to except for the Bose, which was astronomical in price!

Altec Lansing does it again.......2007-09-23
After years of happy use from the excellent first version of the InMotion speakers I was finally seduced into upgrading to the im600. I guess what clinched it for me was the much bigger sound and inbuilt FM radio. The remote, rechargable battery and auto-off functions also help - since I was forever leaving my old one on by mistake..
It should be noted that it's a completely different product from the early versions, in being considerably bigger and heavier and therefore targeted somewhere inbetween travel and home portable use. That's fine for me since I can still choose to take the miniature version if I'm travelling really light. The great thing about the im600 is that it sounds good enough to also use around the home and garden.
It's a fantastic product and has been brilliantly thought out on every level. The design is superb and looks great with a black iPod, though I'm not sure would work so well with the white version.
The only small improvement I can think of is that it should be supplied with a multi-socket transformer such as some of the earlier generation InMotion speakers were.
Still, highly recommended!

This product is a great way to pick up the action footage. However, it doesn't get the audio very well, and there is no way to connect an external Mic.
For the cost and capability, I would buy it again.

You get what you pay for. Don't expect too much from a device in this price category. It is easy to mount and operate. However it needs some practice to adjust to ensure it points into the intended direction and it is not skewed, especially when mounted to a helmet. So better take a portable media player with you to replay a test sequence and adjust the cam position until you are satisfied. Unfortunately it does not show live image when attached to a monitor. You need to record first and playback to view the result.

this camera is definetely one of the best out there,the only down side i could find is stability. when riding my bike down hill the camera moves too much and is hard to get a good image. some sort of stability device in the camera would make it so much better.
the camera itself is well protected against the elements, is water tight and i already tryied it and it works well even submerged in a pool.
overall it was a great buy.

I purchased this video camera for filming some stand-up jetskiing. A 2 gig SD card provides you with an hour (approx) of footage at the best resolution. This is a great feature. The camera is durable and works very well.
My only issue with the camera is the placement of the lens relative to the camera body. Because the lens is slightly set into the body (presumably for protection), water tends to pool at the base of the lens obstructing the view and making the end result look bad. We're going to try something like rain-x next time out and hopefully it will help.

recieved item in 4 days from order, easy set-up and playing tunes in 5 mins, unable to recieve radio reception as the head phone lead IS the aerial for radio there must be a way of getting over this problem, apart from that theres a really great sound from this system and it looks pretty cool too!!! and not to mention a really cheap price aswell!! good solid build quality being able to sinc the zune in the dock may be handy!! (once you buy the lead. )not forgetting the romote- its good but will not navigate aroud the zunes menus, will only select/play forward/backwards, volume-bass-treble adjustment

Pros - and lots of them:
Set-up a snap. Tried a TomTom 1st but it froze up from the start. The Nuvi is so easy to use a 'cave-man' could do it! Great display - even in sun. Huge database of points of interest, too! And the MSN Direct for local traffic & weather is great (but only when you're in a major metro area). Updating by computer is also a snap.
Cons:
Only one I've found is that the 'add-on' Entertainment Guide (x-d card) froze the unit. I had to copy the card contents from my computer card-reader to the Nuvi to use it - but that solved the problem. (However, the Savers Guide saved nothing on our 1st two trips).

The product is great overall. Lots of options. MSN Direct needs some improvement. I would buy it again and recommend it to others who looking for a full feature GPS.

Great GPS unit. Used Quest for a few years. Made the switch and asked myself why not sooner. Drive about 55,000 miles per years. Covers rural areas very well. Would highly recommend this product. Great blue tooth; can play phone and MP3 and audio books through the vehicle speakers. MSN Direct is limited but a valuable tool as well.
Nuvi review.......2007-09-20
I used this device on a 2500 mi trip right after I got it and really enjoyed it. It did a few odd things (trying to route me onto some backroads off the main road, on a route I knew) for some reason that was unclear, but overall it did the job well. Easy to enter destinations in unfamiliar areas, and it does pretty well at getting you around, though sometimes it seemed to miss the interstate in favor of adjacent streets/roads. It is very easy to use and has a lot of nice features. Recalculates rapidly and updates directions. Display/touch interface are very good. I like how it projects your arrival time -- on a 850 mi 14 hour leg it projected an arrival within 2 minutes of actual arrival, when I first entered the destination!
The traffic update feature worked well, where it worked (a limited number of metro areas), and it works well at home, when I pay attention to it!
Some of the less expensive units probably have many of the same nav features, but I like this one. One feature I would like to see (and it might be there) is a pause feature for when you get off the road to get gas or eat -- that drives it crazy trying to make you get back on the road and it gets kinda annoying listening to it tell you to turn around, etc.
Nice unit, strong recommendation.

Sometimes sends you down county road which parallels state highway only a quarter mile away.
Look-up for lodging/stores is cool.

Sound beautiful- but poorly made..........2007-09-27
Let me first point out that these headphones sound beautiful and look amazing. The bass is ample and the balance is good. If you are going from standard iPod headphones, it will be a little awkward going from the earbuds to these in-ear models. Essentially, these feel like earplugs, and block out sound like them too. I had these headphones for around 6 months, and I loved them, but after regular use (daily) and loosely coiling them in the pocket for storage (do not wrap around the iPod itself, this will make the life even shorter), i noticed a small tear in the wire covering just above the jack. I patched it with some electrical tape and it worked fine. I tried to store them better in my pocket, but there was no better way. As the electrical tape slowly deteriorated and eventually came off, i saw the extent of the damage. The headphones no longer played sound as the wires were torn. Definitely a waste of 80 dollars...while they sound good and look good, invest in something a little sturdier.

I used these on a few bike rides (yes, I know it is dangerous). They fit well and are light. Look pretty good - if that matters.
Unfortunately, the bass response was somewhat exaggerated, almost to the point that it was boomy. As well, the treble (high-end) was very limited. Although the mid range was good, the over all effect was dull
I have used a pair of Etymotic ER6 Isolator earphones for years, which you can find at about the same price on Amazon. I bought the V-MODA earphone to try something new.
Though sound quality is subjective, I feel the Etymotics have less bass, but far superior, crispy, and engaging sound that you should notice immediately. The down side of the ER6 is you have to insert them a little further into the ear than the V-MODAs, which take a little practice and can make you feel more isolated then the V-MODAs. But if you're into biking with tunes cranking, the wind noise is less on the Etymotics.
mixed sound quality. good physical redesign. .......2007-09-24
I have mixed feelings about the sound quality with these headphones. On the one hand, the bass response is excellent, much better than similar models from other manufacturers. The music does indeed sound "full bodied", and I'm impressed with the depth of the sound stage. On the other hand, the higher end often sounds a bit shrill to my ears. This does get better after an initial burn in period (definitely run them for a day or two before regular use), but it still isn't optimal. I *like* the sound I get from these headphones, but I don't *love* it. For the price point, though, they're a pretty good deal.
They've recently done a slight physical redesign which addresses a couple of big problems I had. I bought my set back in April, and a few months later the cord started fraying right around the jack. I use these while I work out, so the cord bounced around a lot, but I wouldn't consider my use unusual, so I was surprised and disappointed when the fraying started. Finally the cord frayed badly enough that the headphones stopped working. I recently returned them to V-Moda, and they honored the warranty and gave me a new set. On the new ones, the cord has been reinforced right around the jack - I guess I'm not the only one who had that problem. The other big problem I had, that other commentors have mentioned, was that there was no good grip point on the jack, and trying to unplug it could sometimes be a real pain. They've added a grip to the jack now, so that issue is solved as well. If nothing else, I'm impressed that they listened to their customers and fixed these issues.

I did a lot of reasearch before purchasing these earbuds and for the price I am completely satisfied. I recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade to the $100-ish price point.

Outstanding! Amazing! Awesome! Hard to put it any other way. The fit and sound of the V-MODA Vibe in-ear buds are exceptionally hard to beat for the price. Bass is well within an acceptable and impressive range for the large majority of users...it is neither overbearing, nor underwhelming (except, perhaps, for absolute bass fanatics). Treble is sharp and accurate, not tinny. Artists' voices are succinct...I'm actually able to discern words in the lyrics that I previously could not using my iPod Video standard issue earbuds (made by Sennheiser) or my Sennheiser headphones. As far as fit, "One size fits all" is not in V-MODA's vocabulary...the Vibe comes with 6 pairs (3 opaque and 3 black) of in-ear inserts to accommodate the smallest and largest of ear canals. With respect to the (few) complaints I've read about wire problems, V-MODA must've taken them to heart because the plug on my in-ear buds is constructed with an indentation & a cross-cut grid lip for easy, non-slip removal from the jack; AND the wiring into the plug is reinforced so that it cannot be easily pulled out or frayed even during physical activity. I use them daily on a treadmill with no problems. And last, but not least, V-MODA put on its proverbial thinking cap and included a BLACK leather pouch with my "Gunmetal Blacks" instead of the Gold that they previously issued. Great for we traditionalists! Most definitely consider purchasing the V-MODA Vibe...these in-ear buds are more than comparable to their more expensive competitors.

MAC users -- you will need a card reader!!!.......2007-09-26
I bought the sd card and thought i was ready to go. Mac users, you can not update the sd card while its in the photo frame. How about some documentation letting me know, Philips? You will need a card reader to get around this limitation. Internal frame storage is poor, about 15 MBs. Know before you buy. I'm sure I'll be happy eventually, but it's just such a hassle.
Great picture quality, poor software.......2007-09-26
Good:
- Great picture quality.
- Just plug in a SD from your camera and it displays the pictures fine, no need to configure anything or resize pictures.
- The embedded software offers great features, especially the photo transitions.
Bad:
- The flash based autorun software on the CD does not launch the installer or documentation links on Vista. Exiting the software Vista tells you that next time it will run the software in compatibility mode.
- The photo manager software is very poor. Slow to respond, difficult to use, can't delete pictures or albums, returning a cryptic error in poor English that there is not enough space. Avoid the photo manager software and just copy pictures directly to the SD card.
- 2GB Kingston SD card was not accessible from Vista, but the frame displayed the pictures on the card fine. A 1GB SD card worked fine.
- 4GB Kingston SD card hanged the frame software. A 1GB SD card worked fine.
Conclusion:
The image quality is excellent, but the photo manager software can be SD card incompatibility is disappointing.

We purchased this gift for the "other" grandparents. Our son who lives in Taiwan just had a baby girl. When we went to visit her we brought a Philips 8-inch Digital Picture Frame for our daughter-in-laws parents. They were thrilled! It was easy to work and looks nice. A nice ice breaker!

The product is one of those technologies that you should expect to see in almost every home, perfect for anyone who cannot decide what pictures to put in a room. I personally take my pictures then upload them to the frame, and just let it "slide show".

Cute Gift.......2007-09-12
I bought this for my husband on Father's Day. He loved it and showed it off to all of his friends. The program was very easy to set-up and use. I cropped most of the photos and the resolution was excellent for it's size.
The only problem is it's very fragile. My husband dropped the keys a few times and it hasn't worked since. Be careful and don't keep it on a key chain. I would buy this again.

I saw this and thought it would be great to have the grandkids pictures with me all the time. I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was. The picture quality is great large enough to see the pictures well.
I may purchase another as a gift! The pictures were easy to download too.

I looked all over the web for these specs (including the TAO site), so I am adding them here:
- Display is 128x128 pixels in 24 bit color
- USB interface is NOT a standard block file device (e.g. does not show up as a disk drive), but uses a proprietary interface, so you MUST use the included software, which is not available for Linux.
Also, if you think you should be able to fit a lot more than 30 128x128 pixel JPG images into 8MB, you would be right, but the software limits you to a fixed 30 pictures, which you can (re-)extract from the device as a entire batch (for re-use later) into a (seemingly proprietary) ".itc" file (which is actually 66 bytes of header followed by the images in 49,152-byte blocks (128 x 128 x 3byte color) in simple RGB bitmap format. Even if the device stores the images in the uncompressed bitmap format (which it probably does), it is using no more than 1.5MB of the "8MB internal memory" to store your pictures.
The casing is clearly not bulletproof, and the buttons to stick out from the edge (which would explain why they are "falling off"), and the software is poorly written (bluescreened on second use -- "Handy with a soldering iron, but a menace to society behind a keyboard") but includes a built-in rechargeable battery, charger, USB cable, and a surprisingly high-quality jewelery-type box, for which I paid
<$40. I think if expectations keep in line with this nearly disposable price-point, I think this product will meet them.
I have not had any problems with the device itself (in the first 3 days), and it seems ok with a few keys on it, but can see where the design may have trouble in a high-stress environment embedded in a wad of keys, and a menagerie of other key fobs. I found the display to be adequately bright (I'm sure these are mass-produced cell-phone and digital camera displays, so you can use them for a rough idea)

Easy to load and edit. Cool, fun product great for a gift. Only problem is the spring pin that connects the chain to the digital frame (like the one that holds a watch band) has come out.
