Polaroid i-Zone Pocket Instant Camera (Silver Edition)
Manufacturer: Polaroid ProductGroup: Photography Binding: Electronics Accessories:
Product Features:
ASIN: B00004RF9N |
Amazon.com Review
Polaroid's i-zone pocket cameras produce tiny, high-quality Polaroid pictures about the size of a frame of 35mm film (or your average postage stamp). The i-zones use either sticky or nonsticky instant film, so you can put your pictures in a frame or stick them onto your notebook or CD player. While the cameras all have the same funky oblong plastic design, they are available in a variety of interesting color schemes. The silver edition is a solid silver color, while phat blue and fireball red are neonlike translucent monotones, and the jade version is two-tone with an aqua green front and bluish back. The camera turns itself off automatically after each shot to conserve battery power. Each i-zone set comes with a camera and two AA alkaline batteries. Film is sold separately. Loading the camera is as easy as dropping the film cartridge into the back of the camera and closing it back up. The trickiest part is remembering to pull the film tab out in one fluid motion, without stopping--exactly like most other Polaroids. When you expose a shot and pull out the film, you get something that looks like a Band-Aid, with an image in the middle and extra paper on both ends. Just clip the extra paper off with a pair of scissors and you have your final product. Be careful not to cut into the actual photo as you don't want to give the caustic paste inside a chance to seep out and get on your fingers.
There are three exposure settings on the i-zone--indoors (with flash), outdoor/sunny, and outdoor/cloudy. Overall, the camera is probably best for subjects within 2 to 8 feet, although we took pictures of downtown buildings that turned out pretty well. The outdoor/sunny setting requires bright sun directly on the subject for a good exposure. Even if it isn't cloudy, try using the outdoor/cloudy setting if the subject is in shadow or if it is early or late in the day when the sunlight isn't at full strength. The flash seems to work best from about 4 to 5 feet away.
The best part is figuring out what to do with the miniphotos once you've created them. The options seem to be limitless, from decorating cell phones to putting them in miniframes to creating photo albums. These cameras are affordable, simple to use, and a lot of fun. --Walt Opie

This is the perfect instant camera........2004-05-09
This is a great camera to throw in your backpack and have handy at a moment's notice.
Fantastic little camera.......2004-05-04
I've been a fan of it since it was invented, and I still am, even though I own digital cameras five hundred times more expensive. Casual photos are all about what you can do with them. The i-zone doesn't just produce pictures, it produces toys. Give them to people. Stick them on things. Take one of these to the pub and you'll get people queuing up to have their picture taken. Send them on postcards - many times cheaper and more convenient than a pocket-sized printer and glue.
Basically this camera is perfect for grown-ups with lives, as well as teenagers. And it's not exactly expensive either. If you like taking spontaneous photos, this is the device for you. No other camera has brought me as much enjoyment.

The i-zones use either sticky or nonsticky instant film, so you can put your pictures in a frame or stick them onto your notebook or portable CD/MP3 player. While the cameras all have the same funky oblong plastic design, they are available in a variety of interesting color schemes. The silver edition is a solid grayish silver color, while Phat Blue and Fireball Red are neon-like translucent monotones, and the purple version is two-tone with a grape front and dark bluish back. The camera turns itself off automatically after each shot to conserve battery power. Each i-zone set comes complete with camera, instant pocket film (six shots), and two AA alkaline batteries--everything you need to start making pictures. We recommend buying extra film right away, especially if the camera is a gift, because those first six shots tend to go pretty fast. Loading the camera is as easy as dropping the film cartridge into the back of the camera and closing it. The trickiest part is remembering to pull the film tab out in one fluid motion, without stopping--exactly like most other Polaroids. When you expose a shot and pull out the film, you get something that looks like a Band-Aid, with an image in the middle and extra paper on both ends. And as others have noted, the flash button is a little loose, so act responsibly and you obviously need to get up close to the person you are photographing (or thing) because they are small images. If you want big images or negatives don't buy this product.

Polaroid i-zone Convertible Pocket Instant Camera w/ Changeable Faceplates
Manufacturer: Polaroid ProductGroup: Photography Binding: Electronics Accessories:

ASIN: B00005AKPB |
Amazon.com Product Description
Polaroid's updated version of the i-zone instant camera lets you personalize your camera with several fun, colorful faceplates that you can change on a whim to fit your mood, match your outfit, or match your favorite color. And because this camera has front and top changeable faceplates, you can mix-and-match the colors and patterns. It comes with two sets of color changeable faceplates that clip easily into place. This i-zone isn't just the old version with colorful faceplates, however. Polaroid has also redesigned the entire body with a sleeker, more aerodynamic shape and feel; the smaller body fits into a pocket or bag easier than ever. But the new look does not affect the easy-to-use features of the original i-zone camera. It is still focus-free, with a built-in flash and simple film loading. The three settings, indoors (with flash), outdoor/sunny, and outdoor/cloudy allow you to pick the best mode for your scene or subject, adding to your creative control.
Capture lots of fun moments with instant pictures the size of a postage stamp, using either sticky or nonsticky film, then let your creativity go wild. Decorate notebooks, folders, invitations, anything you can think of! The more unique, the better. These mini-pictures are ideal for sharing and trading with your friends. The possibilities are endless, so be sure to stock up on plenty of extra film.

It's pretty okay.......2001-01-07
The button you click to take pictures is really big, so if you do put it in a purse becareful because it may go off accidentaly. Be sure to keep extra film with you and be sparing with your pictures becuase you only have 12 per roll.
As for the color of the actual camera, it's kind of a really light puke green but of course they make it sound really radical and call it "wasabe."
The pictures are not digital quality but hey they develope right there and you can tell who is in the picture so thats a plus, right?
Anywhoooooo.. its a decent product, fun to use and has a ton of neat little accessories. Not a travel camera but maybe a fun "trip to the beach" cam or "lets take dumb pics of ourselves at high school" cam I give it a 4. Exciting ehh?
