This printer continuously jams. I waste paper. I waste ink. It prints on multiple pages, grabbing chunks of paper at a time. The jams are annoyingly often enough that I don't print as much as I initially intended to. I'm waiting for this one to die completely so I can purchase a better one.... it won't be long. And the ink it goes through is amazing for as many times as I can't print because it's jammed!

Good Solid Work Printer.......2007-09-17

This printer has provided solid service for a home based business. It is fast with excellent output free of banding in graphs. This is the third of this model printer, all of which are serving me well, and are without the problems stated in other reviews. The first K550 printer I purchased probably has printed over 100,000 pages and the output is excellent, no need to replace printheads yet.

My only complaint is that the printer has a lot of torque so if you don't have a solid desk or printer stand, it will cause considerable movement of whatever it is sitting upon. Doesn't affect the output quality but it is a consideration if you have the printer on the same surface you are working.

The only other concern is that paper handling is just a little short of perfect. It is sensitive to the slightest irregularities in paper stacking in the feed bin which may cause more than one sheet to pull through. I would say this may occur once every 250 to 300 sheets of paper. I dropped the rating one star because of this.

All in all, I would purchase another of these models if production required it because it is so outstanding in all the areas mentioned with just a couple minor flaws. No other printer tested comes close to this printer in price and quality of output.

This is the worst printer I have ever owned and I have owned more than 20 over the years. I bought this one because the sales rep told me it was high volume and very fast. I was led to believe that the ink cartridges would last at least twice as long as the cheaper models and since I do a lot of printing, this was important to me. Well, it uses ink up twice as fast as my other printers and it CONTINUOUSLY misfeeds. This is very annoying as it will pull multiple pages through the print tray. It wouldn't be so bad if it pulled them equally and you could just refeed, but no, it pulls them so that a page actually prints out over several! Absolutely a wast of money and avoid this printer at all costs.

Reading all the negative reviews has me baffled. I've had this one for over a year and have had no problems at all. I just finished printing 300 sheets with about 30% color and they were all beautiful and printed very quickly. I do this all the time. As for the printer stopping when one of the colors runs out of ink, I think that is a PLUS. I don't like to remove cartridges when I am told they're running low. Ink is way too expensive. I let it run until it's empty. When it stops, I know it's empty and just replace it! Much more cost efficient than my last HP which used 56/57 cartridges. I don't care about photo quality... which to my untrained eye is quite good... I needed this as a small office workhorse and it definitely fits the bill!

it's not worthy of burning.......2007-08-09

This is our second go around with this printer series. Both times I have to say I truly am disappointed. We only use HP's for my printers in my work facility for the offices. I thought I would buy this printer for some lightweight color printing for the HR department who needed color but not a full blown LaserJet color printer. This printer has been out of commission for all of 5 days in the last 8 months. Upon setting up the replacement printer it ground to a halt on the priming process and started kicking out 2 and 3 pieces of paper at a time, the print heads are clogged and the unit in my book is useless. As I stated in the title for this review if this printer was made of wood, I would not use it for firewood, it's not worthy of burning.

HP K5400 Officejet Pro Color Printer.......2007-08-27

HP K5400 Officejet Pro Color Printer was easy to install and does a great job in my home office. It prints clearly and very fast. I recommend it for anyone needing quality documents under medium duty work load.

Perfect so far.......2007-06-06

We took a risk on this because our last printer, the HP K550 had serious paper handling problems. This one is -- so far -- working perfectly. It was easy to set up.

We got the extra paper tray and that is working perfectly too, though it took some time to figure out how to make it default to the correct tray. (Never found instructions after looking for 30 minutes. Had to experiment with the settings.) The only other negative -- the driver is huge -- something like 130MB. (And even with that, no instructions for paper tray selection?!) This is minor if the printer is reliable!

You get what you pay for.......2002-08-27

The price of this phone is a reflection of the quality. It is cordless and my particular model will allow me to plug the headset in and walk around but the sound quality is horrible. Withut the headset using the handset alone I think you'd be better off using some cans and string. This is not a high quality phone.

Phone did not work - new purchase.......2002-07-18

Bought this phone for my daughter - It never worked. Charged it and Charged it - all it did was flash and never was able to use it. I returned it.

Not a good value.......2001-12-06

This phone (at least the unit I purchased) had very poor sound quality and range. I noticed a slight amount of static when standing right next to the base unit, that only got worse as I walked away and behind a few walls. To compare, I did the same thing to a VTech unit that I purchased last year for the same price (but with a digital answering system) and that phone was silent (except for the sound of human voices on the other end).

Best to spend your heard-earned cash on a more worthy unit.

This is NOT a cordless headset!.......2001-08-27

Cordless headsets do exist, but not at this price -- I've found out to my chagrin. I don't know how anybody could describe this as a "cordless headset" seeing as how the headset has a whopping great cord coming out of it, which needs to be plugged into the phone before it can be used. (Note that it only needs to be plugged into the phone, not into the base unit, so you CAN walk around, if you've clipped the phone onto your belt or something like that.) I'm keeping the phone, because I needed a new one, but I'm not a happy bunny: I feel as though I was conned. A couple of other, minor complaints: (1) the headset only works with the microphone on the left, not on the right; and (2) there's a really stupid flip-panel which performs no function whatsoever except to make it that much more difficult to dial a number. (It can be pulled off, however, with brute force.)

Less than Expected..........2001-08-01

I returned this item, because I was expecting it to be a "truly mobile" phone. The product description is unclear...I thought that you could put the headset on and walk around the house talking on the phone with both hands free, but unfortunately, you have to be connected at the base unit while wearing the headset. The handset is portable, but the headset/hands-free feature is not. Okay if you want to sit and talk hands-free, but not what we wanted or expected. Maybe the product description needs to be clearer, or my understanding was unclear.
