Panasonic's RXD11 CD radio cassette boombox features 4-inch speakers with front-facing bass reflex ports that aim low frequencies toward you. The acoustic isolation cabinet places the main speakers in separate compartments to help reduce distortion. Four preset equalizer modes (XBS, soft, clear, vocal) accommodate different personal tastes. The XBS (Extra Bass System) mode ensures reproduction of low frequencies.

The AM/FM digital tuner provides auto tuning, auto scanning, and memory presets for up to 24 stations. The Panasonic RXD11 has a motorized, top-loading CD player that uses a MASH 1-bit digital-to-analog converter for faithful CD sound. Playback options include 24-track random-access programming, random play, and repeat play (track or disc). The cassette player features a soft-eject system. CD recording is made easy with synchro start, which begins to play the CD automatically when the cassette's record button is pressed.

Other features include a full-function remote control, a large LCD screen, and a stylish silver exterior with black speaker grilles. The Panasonic RXD11 includes an AC adapter. It also runs on six D batteries for portable use.

This little boom box is compact and sounds great just like the orgionial model the Rx-Ds28. Panasonic makes great audio equment . Hey i I felt this was a bad product i would not even wasted my time or bought one for my girlfriend. You can't beat the price for this jazzy little unit.

Nice device, fair tech support.......2004-06-27

If you are looking for an easy to use backup system (rather than just external storage) this is a pretty good system. The software creates a complete image of your PC hard disk. In the case of a disk crash, you can do a complete restore of your system. In some cases you can actually boot from the ABSPlus drive. The desktop version lets you remove the drive from the ABSPlus, and install it in your PC to replace the failed drive. Then you would buy a new disk to install back in the ABSPlus. If you've lost or damaged data on your PC but the disk is physically OK you can copy everything from the ABSPlus back to the PC drive - no need to reinstall any applications, etc. Note that under XP this process requires that the backup drive be the same size or SMALLER than the PC drive since every disk sector on the backup disk needs someplace to be copied to. An exact image of the backup ends up on the PC (including any disk partitions, multiple backup versions, etc.)

In comparison to other external drives, this system emphasizes complete backup and restore capabilities, including the entire OS and applications, not just the ability to restore your personal data files. It also has a three year warranty vs. the typical one year most other devices offer.

Tech support on the web site, including FAQs, is pretty good. You can contact tech support through email with specific questions. I''ve done this a couple of times. I usually would get a response in 24-48 hours. Some responses were good, others rather poor (canned answers, wrong answers, etc.), probably averaging a three star rating for the email tech support.

HD ok, backup software quirky and slow.......2003-10-24

The drive itself is fine, but the included software is very slow, hard to understand, quirky, and non-intuitive. For example, just try and figure out how to use the included drive paswword functionality. I still can't figure it out. Or try and do a complete backup to refresh an existing complete backup; if you've deleted files on your source drive since the last backup, you have to run a seperate step to delete the "deleted" files from the backup drive! Sheesh! And talk about slow- 65 mb per minute means my 20 gig drive takes hours and hours to complete a backup. As an add-on drive, this device is fine. As an "automated" backup system, it is poor. P.S. The CD that was provided in the package was defective, so I still don't have the "disaster recovery" function available...

Great laptop for the price!.......2005-03-01

Wow... I was amazed, with shipping I paied 570$ for a 1 ghz pc. I bought this for a gift for a friend of mine.. she LOVES it.

This laptop has a STRONG loud sound system and well.. alot of power to pack. With the support of a ATI 8 MB 3d card, was even strong enough on only 256 mb RAM to play Sims 2!!!

The added touch that it has a touchpad AND a finger mouse was a nice addition.

Has support for MiniPci so you can even add a internal wireless card!

This laptop has everything you can need from your serial ports, printer ports, and more.

Granted one down side is that it ONLY had one usb slot (1.1) but that is easily fixed with a non powered 4 port hub which gave me NO troubles when I used all 4 slots.

Battery life is very nice too with about 2-3 hours worth and since its just a bay, you can even buy a extra battery, take out the DVD drive and add the 2nd battery support.

The only thing I would say you need to do, is add more RAM and make sure you get one with a DVD drive.

Aside from that, this is a GREAT laptop to get that has the power to game, play music well, and do everything.

The only thing I hate about this one is how the power cord is hooked into the laptops back. Its this odd square design, not a normal round pin. Always feel like if I mis treat it, it could break on me or do something.. so not sure if its something to worry about or not.

But yea, compaired to the 800-1300$ laptops, this one WONT let you down at ALL! =)
