Another great HP printer .......2007-09-25
The toner in my HP Laserjet 2100 finally ran out, and so I couldn't justify spending $100 for a new toner when my local office supply store had the 1020 on sale for $80. I read all the reviews on Amazon and TigerDirect and decided that this was the printer for me. I had no problems with my old printer and wanted another HP.
Installation was easy. I followed the instructions and installed the CD first. I bought the usb cable from Amazon - Belkin gold series, 10ft for around $10. This printer is so much smaller than the 2100, but it does everything my old one did, just faster and with a smaller footprint. It is also very quiet. Everything worked beautifully and I expect this printer will last as long as my 2100.

I was very dissatisfied that the HP LaserJet 1020 installation software did not provide acceptable printer drivers for Windows XP or Vista.

Highly recommended. Most people can live without a color printer for everyday printing. This laser printer is much faster and provides better quality printing than inkjet printers. I has spending way to much money buying replacement ink cartridges for my old printer. Very happy I switched to a laser printer.
A Very Fine Printer.......2007-09-15
This is the best printer I've ever had...and I've thrown away lots of printers. It seems to go through a mountain of paper on one load of toner. Very fast and I like the way the paper comes out toasty warm. I've had mine for about four years and it still sells for about what I paid; proof to me that it's a solid value.
1020 printer stopped working after few months.......2007-09-04
I can't beleive this printer only worked for 3 months. I bought it last Dec, but only start to use it 3 months ago. Now it stopped working. Does anybody know this printer has any warranty? Thanks!

Same Performance for a Third the Price.......2007-09-24
HP charges about three times more for a new cartridge of this type. I have now gone through 3 of these cartridges with my LaserJet 1018, and I have had no problems. The cartridges last about 2,000 pages each, so the price-per-page is only a little over 1 cent (as opposed to 3 cents per page if you buy the official cartridges from HP). I also buy my paper by the case from Staples, so my total price-per-page of printing is about 2.5 cents. Very good deal, considering that I used to pay over 10 cents per page with an HP inkjet printer and official ink/paper supplies.

As long as you've got a full charge on the battery and you're only planning on using it to order a pizza, this isn't a bad phone. I'm actually here shopping for a new phone, after having to scramble for my standby corded phone for the umpteenth time. I've tried replacing the battery - no luck.
Do yourself a favor and keep looking.
Great second phone.......2001-07-31
Purchased as a "bedroom" phone in my home. It is not solid feeling (which I equate with quality), but it is a great phone with excellent reception. The base is not too big, which is perfect for a smaller table (like a nightstand). It has hi and lo tone quality rings (as well as soft and loud). Haven't used it for long, but am very pleased.

This is only the second cordless phone ever owned and the first 900MHz of any kind. That said, I'd like to say it's a nice phone. Listeners on the other end could hear me clearly. I have a little feedback on my end, like I was speaking into something hollow, but it's very tolerable.

I want everyone out there to know that this is the best digital phone I have owned, and I have been through a few! I even purchased a pricey top of the line V-tech phone which turned out to be replaced due to malfunctions 3 times! This phone allows you to use head phones, and be heard by and hear your callers as if they are right there with you. The only thing that could be improved about this phone is that the batteries tend to run low in about 4-5 hours, so if you use the phone as much as I do then you will want to get a back up battery. ( I work from home and use the phone frequently). You will not believe how great the quality of this phone is... my recommendation- buy it!
