I m using it in my car and inspite of not so gud handling, its working absolutely fine. Life which I get from battery is gud. I havent replaced the battery till date. So, full marks for that. mp3 playback quality is also very gud and on this rate wonderful item.

I love this player. As others have mentioned why pay more for an MP3 player when you can have a CD AND Mp3 player? I have abused this unit biking, skiing, in the car and on hikes. It's been under water and skidded down more trails than I care to remember yet never missed a beat. The wired remote has been a big plus as I then store the main unit in a pac and have the remote on my front pocket. I have finally killed the play button on my noble beast and I will be replacing it with the same model. Killer unit! Do yourself a favor and discard those piece of junk headphones that come with the unit.

Best CD/mp3 player I've used yet........2005-11-29

Great CD player, for most people it should be fine. Of course the stock headphones that come with it are junk, but who uses those anyways? Buy a pair of Sony MDR-V6s or the like and then you can hear you tunes perform.

Pros:
In-line remote is handy
Awesome battery life
Reproduces sound quite fine
Never seems to skip at all

Cons:
One can't seek within mp3 files. (Bad if you do 30 minute language lessons like I do)
Just opening the case will cause the CD player to reset and you will loose you last position.
Lacks a display for mp3 id3 tags.

The cons are my only reasons for giving it a 4 star rating, otherwise it's great and is even better than other CD players I've used.

Why buy an MP3 player when you can get a MP3 CD player instead?.......2005-11-13

MP3 players cost hundreds of dollars.

This doesn't. An MP3 CD will hold upwards of 200 songs (depending on length, bitrate and your CDR).

I had an MP3 player, but sold it... and got this instead. You can save the hundreds of dollars you would spend on an MP3 player, and save your songs to CD in MP3 format... I have a CD with 300 songs on it.

The battery life is pretty good hours of play (for an MP3 cd, regular audio CDs get average battery life).

The sound is good for everyday things, but not very loud if you're in a car or airplane or something with loud background noise.

A great player, durable, long lasting and just great!

Good cd-player, terrible headphones.......2005-07-02

I've been using this cd-player for nearly a year now. The quality of the cd-player itself is not bad. It has excellent battery power, I only use rechargeable batteries and it takes forever for player to use up the battery power, so I have no complaints in that area. It seems fairly sturdy and buttons are comfortable enough to press.

On the other hand, the headphones stink. The quality is ok but not the best, i realised when I bought it that I would eventually have to replace the headphones with ones that sounded better. What I didn't count on was the headphones breaking within the first few months. I'm a college student, and I haven't subjected these headphones to any unusual wear and tear. Even though I found them very comfortable, they aren't durable at all, and for the price that I paid for the set, I would have expected better headphones.

If you're willing to fork out a considerable amount of money knowing that its really just the cd-player that you're paying for, then you can buy this product. Just don't buy it thinking that you're paying for a cd-player and headphones, as mine didn't even last a year.

PRETTY GOOD LOW-TECH CD PLAYER.......2001-11-26

My mom got me this CD player a couple years ago for Christmas and I have used it ever since. It doesn't really have the features of the more expensive stereo systems such as bass boost, surround sound, etc... but the sound quality is a lot better than these other reviewers are making it out to be(it seems like the only people who ever review electronics are people who got ones that don't work). It actually plays some of my CD's that are too scratched up for my expensive 45-second ESP portable CD player which is great because otherwise I would have ended up buying a whole bunch of newer CDs. I have noticed also that if it doesn't play a scratched CD the first time, it gets better with each time you play it. God knows why that is, but I'm not complaining. Anyway, this CD player has pretty good sound (the part in Led Zeppelin's What is and What Shall Never Be where the guitar goes back and forth between the left and right channels comes across great), it plays scratched CD's, and you should buy it.

Don't expect to use this as a soundsystem for a party. The sound is lousy at higher volumes.

Overall quality is good. The CD player works very well and the tape player is fine too. Radio reception is very good. I can pick up some distant stations. The antennae isn't the greatest. The handle gets in the way of the antennae. We haven't had a single problem with it and we've used it daily for almost a year.

But it is a good deal for the money. I would buy one again.

We use is mostly in our 3 year old son's room to play some quiet bedtime music.

As an entry level box, it is not bad for a child to get started with electronics. The compactability of the unit is terrific for small hands and the price is outstanding. A good value!

This is by no means a high quality stereo. For alow volume, background music type situation it's great. I use it in the OR where it does a great job. Also it's very small an light which is another good feature. One major problem is that it doesn't have a track counter...but for this price, who cares?

My kids and spouse fight over whose room the alarm clock gets to live in because it is so much fun to wake up to in the morning!!! The radio works great. The baby has sucked on it and dropped it, yet the clock radio remained durable. The snooze button is easy to use. I like the multitude of options to wake up to and the dimmer choice on the display.

My daughter got this for her 6th birthday. It was simple enough that she could quickly learn how to use it. She loved being able to choose the sound that she wanted to wake up to. The only thing I didn't like is that it's a little involved to set the clock and alarm. There is no way I could do it without the instructions even after doing it a couple of times. I am going to get the Buzz Lightyear version for my son.

This is so cool! it has the best wake up alarm ever! I love this clock. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars is because even with the manual the controls are hard to figure out, but with practice it is an awesome clock.
