5 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?.......2004-11-06

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The SanDisk 64MB Secure Digital Memory Card, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

1 out of 5 stars Cannot use the last couple of MB of memory.......2004-06-24

I bought this to fit a few more songs on my mp3 player. You cannot use all of the space on the card! This worthless card does not let you use about 3 to 4MB of memory. Save your cash and buy Kingston memory instead.

4 out of 5 stars SanDisk 64MB Secure Digital Memory Card.......2004-02-09

The Memory Card was delivered promptly, in excellent condition and works well. The package was addressed to "bibby varghese" instead of "Harvey Westfall", but the street address was correct. The mailer was "Dvds123.com, 1750 Weir Drive, Woodbury, MN 552125". All's well that ends well.

    4 out of 5 stars Great Card.......2003-05-29

This is a great memory card. I use it for my digital camera and it hs fast access/write speeds. I use it with a Dazzle Zio! SD Card reader and it works seamlessly. The only problem is it's price. A little too steep for 64 MB.

4 out of 5 stars Nice, but a bit too small.......2003-05-15

This is a memory card like any other, save it's size. SD, in general, is a great format to add a bit of memory in. I use it in my PDA, and it helps to add that bit of storage I need. However, the space on this card runs out quickly. My advice: upgrade to the 128 or the 256.

1 out of 5 stars More like Lostman 635.......2007-05-26

Avoid Navman like the plague or leprocy!! Nothing good to say about this unit. Slow to acquire satelite. Also slow to adjust if get off course (tells you to turn left at an intersection after you are already in a different lane) making it hopeless on downtown city streets. Not user-friendly (not touch-screen) - have to "type" everything in perfectly or you won't find addresses and POIs. Speaking of points-of-interest, this unit has very few, and no way to search for POIs other than knowing the exact name of what you want - ex: no way to find the closest petrol station... must know the exact name and location - yeah right. POI is one of the great features of using a SatNat and this one is useless. Choose any SatNav other than this one! Have used both Tom Tom and Garmin and both are far superior - better to give one of these a go instead of the Navman, particularly a Garmin Nuvi model.

3 out of 5 stars Okay but Customer support lets this product down.......2006-04-09

Okay product ,novelty wears off pretty fast (already got gps for boat),voice thing gets annoying but you can turn it off, easy to see where you going in 3D mode, would be good for courier ,taxi driver, but maps are expensive,i found it very hard to obtain power cable which makes this useless if it breaks (better keep a map in your car) and customer support lacking, don,t wish to reveal too much but all i can say is that in New Zealand they must be very under staffed. But service was friendly when i did finally hear from them.

5 out of 5 stars By far the best........2005-11-30

I dont know about Navman's customer service because i never had any problem with my unit after using it for more than a year now.

I travel a lot and I use it everyday. I would say: for the price, this is the best GPS. I've tried some other products such as Tomtom (touch screen creates glare, looks ugly too), Magellan (too bulky, i dont like the maps, higher price).

I notice people complain about wrong directions or poor maps, well it's true with any GPS. The problem with some users is that as soon as they turn-on their GPS, they turn-off their logic.

I like this one and have no plans of replacing it.

2 out of 5 stars Broke twice in one week, had prior model for 3 years.......2005-03-25

I have had an ICN630 for 3 years that worked flawlessly then broke. I was going on a trip and couldn't wait for two weeks to have the old model repaired so I bought a new ICN635 (current model). It worked well for one day. Four hours into the trip it failed. After trying many things and speaking with Navman they decided that it was the portable cord. They told me it was unavailable from anyone but them and that when they had a supply problem last year (2004) there was no other source. They sent a new cord. While I waited for the new cord I left the unit running on the 110 volt power source (not much good unless you have about a 50 mile long extension cord--I did so just to be sure that the unit itself was O.K.) I received the replacement cord, plugged the unit in and . . . . . . it ran for about 5 seconds and turned off. I tried this several times--first in a 2005 Mercedes then in a 2004 Cadillac--I suspect that the problem lies with Navman and not with the cars.

Navman support had suggested that I buy a 12 volt to 110 volt inverter from Radio Shack as a backup for their equipment cord--I guess that would be not unlike trailering a spare car in case your primary vehicle breaks down.

All of the above said, the Navman ICN630 was great while it worked and the ICN635 was even better. However, a navigation system that works sporadically or not at all is worse than none at all. On the bright side, when the ICN630 was working, I used it in my 2002 Mercedes S class instead of the factory installed system--simply, the Navman system covered much more territory than the factory installed system.

I'm hooked on GPS having used it for three years but can't recommend a product that fails (the old ICN630) or a product that fails right out-of-the-box (the new ICN635) and that continues to fail after receiving the "repair". At this point I'll have to look at Garmin or Magellan because who wants to be stranded again in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. as I was when this product failed.

    1 out of 5 stars Unreliable.......2005-02-02

Navman has let me down in the following ways:

    1. customer service - empty promises, idiot support, and get this one... this is the best... a few times i called and their customer support line couldn't recieve calls becouse the freaken mailbox was full. YEA! Get that!!??? Navman's customer support voice mailbox was filled. No calls allowed for abotu one week. Idiots!!!

The maps are bad too. GPS doesn't hold position well with cloud cover.

They could easily improve the company if they replaced all personnel (developers, customer sup[port, admins) with chimps. WOuld be a much better company then.

Bottom line.... do not buy from this dump of a company!

5 out of 5 stars San Disk Smart Media***.......2003-10-20

I love San Disk Products! Their smart media cards are the best. They are very reliable and I have never received a faulty card. You can use them over and over... I like the 64MB size, it's perfect to take on trips and holds a nice amount of pictures. The price has really dropped in the last six months. I just purchased my fourth card. If your looking for smart media, stick with the brands you know and trust.

5 out of 5 stars Durability for sure.......2003-02-10

I dropped my PDA and the MMC card popped out. Realized it was gone hours later, went back, found it. It had been run over by a truck or forklift, judging from the scratches. Popped it back in, it worked fine. I'd call that durable, wouldn't you?

5 out of 5 stars SD Card and Palm OS 4.......2003-01-10

First off, this card is great. Its small, sturdy, and delivers the space it said it would.

    Second, the price is excellent.

Third, the nature of these cards is *much* slower than your handheld.

My motivations were to expand my Palm 505 and be able to hold plenty of documents and web data on my Palm. The problem I had was the Palm didn't want to use all that space. The Palm OS VFS works rather like a fair hack. I had to find software (MSMount and a new browser LauncherX -- the latter is a shareware product) to actually mount the apps and data on the remote drive as well as Filez which allows you to perform file system operations on the card.

After all this, my 505 works great with all the extra space.

1 out of 5 stars NOT COMPATABLE with Toshiba e310!.......2002-10-09

I just got off the line with Toshiba. Their Pocket PC's are NOT compatable with Sandisk SD cards. They work for a while, then die. I bought three at once and two are toast now. Toshiba knows about this and has yet to post a warning or contact owners of their otherwise excellent Pocket PC's. BEWARE!

1 out of 5 stars Incompatible with the Zaurus.......2002-10-08

This card simply does not work with the Sharp Zaurus. Sharp has released an update to the ROM which improves the compability (they don't actually say it fixes the problem); but, in order to install ROM updates, you need a CompactFlash card. If you've got a CF card, then this SD card might be worth a try; but I wasn't willing to spend [money] for a 16M CF card in order to get a [$$$] SD card to work.

The SimpleTech STI-SD/64 64MB SecureDigital Card, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera.
