This TV is great, and the price was good too. It arrived in new packaging and the sound and picture seem good, although I've only powered it up to see the menu! We bought it for use in a new children's business and we don't have our DVD player set up yet. The viewing angle is good too! It's light and stable on the base.

I bought this TV for my mom to use in her office...she loves it. I was impressed when I set it up. It's got a great picture and decent sound. The remote is kinda cheap, but it's not a huge issue for me.

I received this TV as a gift and was very pleased. The picture is crisp and the sound is good as well. There are only 2 things I dislike about this TV - 1.) The delay when you change the channel - I've never seen this with another TV, but there is a serious delay of at least a few seconds before the next channel comes in. It's annoying, but not terrible.
2.) The remote looks cheesy -- it's very small and cheap looking
Besides these 2 drawbacks, the TV works well and has a great picture for what seems like a good price.

Close but no Cigar........2007-08-01
This set has all of the makings of a great buy but fails in one of the most important areas: Channel Set-up.
After running auto-setup, the LD-155SL8 does not delete digital station channels that do not exist. There could be a hundred dead channels between active stations which makes channel scrolling impossible. Add to this fact that it takes about 10-12 seconds for the unit to determine if there is a signal or not for each channel up or down and you can bank on pure frustration.
Funai's customer service dept does little more than read the manual to you when you call.
They suggested that the user scroll through all of the channels and WRITE down each DEAD channel for deletion later. I calculated this at at least 200 hours of work to write down each active/inactive station and another 200+ hours going into the programming area and deleting each station.
400+ hours to set up a TV?? That's over 10 weeks of man power just to set up the stations. This was Funai's actual suggestion and confirmed by the supervisor of their customer support. NOT something I plan on doing!
If you intend on using this unit for analog stations and DVD playback it's a pretty good deal. Better sound quality than the Skyview Unit (similar price) and better picture too. If you want to use it for HD-DTV viewing get a Cable Box because the DTV tuner is worthless.

I purchased this item for my 2 year old (she loves Spongebob) so this lcd combined with a couple of seasons of spongebob and we are good to go. Now for the lcd, awesome picture quality and controls are easy to use, sound is a little lacking but for the price and quality you can't go wrong.

It's ok if you want a simple 15" tv with a few extra inputs.......2007-04-15
The monitor works well, the picture is good, I've had it maybe 6+ months and bought it for the office. I hooked it up to a cable and did a quick scan and it worked.. BUT when i tried to connect it to a HD ant, I found that it wouldn't pick up HD without an external tuner. This is the reason for the 3-Star rating - to me any 'monitor' that requires an external HD tuner, isn't HD. For me this is nothing more than a flat panel monitor with a standard tuner and few extra connections (something you can find at any computer store). I probably should give it a high rating since I haven't had a problem with it along with the fact that it only cost me about $100 (refurbished).

Maybe with time this will work itself out...but right now, I can't seem to get the darn thing to work well. Granted I live in a place where there is no cable; granted the instructions are written so small I can hardly read them. I'm not finding it easy to get this TV to work well! It's difficult to even get the color right when I'm watching a DVD... Oh well, maybe I'll edit this in a few weeks. I'm a little disappointed...
Television Not Advertised as Refurbished.......2007-01-15
I received my Magnavox 15" LCD screen television and gave it as a gift to my spouse for Christmas. I installed two days after Christmas and my spouse noticed a spot on the screen. I called the online store I purchased from through Amazon and they were very pleasent. They would issue an RA for the television to go back. I had already disposed of the packaging and I expressed concern for shipping the item back as I did not have the original shipping container. I asked if they could just send me a new Television, charge my card and I could then send the old TV in the shipping container of the new TV. They would not do this. I am stuck with the old TV and the Pixel dot on the screen due to this fact. As a customer, I am dissatisfied due to the fact the online store would not work with me even though I was willing to charge a second television on my card so I would have the proper shipping container to send the old TV back.

I received it as a Christmas gift and I'm thrilled with it. I took it out of the box, hooked it up to basic cable service, programed the remote control using the on-screen guide, and I was watching my favorite cable news shows in less than 20 minutes.
I've had no problems whatsoever with sound or picture. Be realistic in your expectations. If you want a home theater with surround sound and big screen HD-quality, well then, go out and spend $5,000. If what you want is a simple little home office TV to catch the news, weather, sports and maybe a favorite prime-time show while working in your office, this 15" TV is ideal. Don't listen to the whiners.

The price for this item was great, but the product is more a PC monitor than a television. Alas, another reminder that "you get what you pay for". The sound is tinny even with making numerous adjustments to sound using the menu.

Not bad, but not great........2006-10-21
I purchased this as a bedroom television. While it is satisfactory, I am disappointed that the volume does not go as low as it should and as I would like it to be for bedroom use. The picture is okay (ony if you're looking at it straight on, not from the side)--the colors (no matter how many adjustments I've made) are not true in comparison to other televisions in my home. It will do, but I will be far more attentive to all these factors next time around. Given the drawbacks, is it worth $324.? Not at all.

I purchased this TV based on a number of reviews that gave it 5 stars. If it had not done so well, I would have purchased a Sharp Aquos. We already have one of those and it is super. The Magnavox is not as versatile but it certainly has a fine clear picture and a beautiful sound. It just does not have all the features that the Aquos has.
What a Deal!.......2005-05-26
I have a small built-in office in my bedroom. I wanted a flat monitor for my pc and a small tv to watch. With space a premium, I didn't know what to get first. I saw this little jewel at Walmart for $288 and was almost afraid to try it. Only Walmart's return policy convinced me to try it. Boy, am I glad I did. I satisfied both of my objectives for less than any other HD ready LCD tv I have seen. Because of it however, I ended up spending more money. I used the extra space to hook up a Dishnetwork Model 811 HD receiver to the Component Video Input and now I have 760p tv in my office. Kids are extatic because I stay in my office and now they get more time on the big, heavy, expensive HDTV in my den. Next, I need about a 500 watt home theatre with optical audio hook-up. My only gripe, and it costs Philips/Magnavox one* is I did not get an Owner's Manual in English and communicating with their support is annoying.

I bought it for my office. The picture quality as either a TV or an SVGA monitor can't be beat. The sound is surprisingly good also. I would definitely consider another Magnavox if I was looking for a larger LCD TV.
