Product Description

The Wii Remote Controller makes gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology -- creating a multifunctional device limited only by the imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on.

To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated- the result is the Wii Remote. Nintendo fused the global familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device that differentiates the Wii from any other console that has come before it.

Revolutionary control
Sporting the dimensions of a small traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. The magic of the Wii Remote's design lies within; acellerometers inside the controller body measure movement in all directions and at all speeds. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket as you swing your arm for a long forehand or a quick and hard backhand. In a 4x4 driving game it serves as a steering wheel, allowing you to swerve to avoid obstacles or pickup power-ups. In first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as a firearm that you can point directly at an on-screen enemy. The list of potential uses is enormous, and the light weight of the Wii Remote allows gamers to play for hours without feeling fatigued.

The Wii Remote boasts impressive technology for such a compact package.

As comfortable as it is functional

The Wii Remote is equally comfortable in right and left hands and houses just the right number of buttons for gaming- not so many that new players will get confused, but enough so that Wii games don't feel constrained. On the face of the remote are the D (or "plus") pad, a large "A" button which is used for major on-screen actions, and two small options buttons. Between the game buttons are a plus and minus buttons (which often act as "forwards" and "back"), as well as a "Home" button to engage the Wii home screen to change settings or check remote battery levels. On the back side of the controller is a trigger-like "B" button, perfect for timing releases of a bowling roll in Wii Sports.

Thankfully, battery life is excellent with the two included AA batteries, just as with the previous generation of Nintendo wireless controllers.

Immersive intelligence

Along the bottom of the Wii Remote, four blue LED lights indicate which player position the remote is currently set to. The controller automatically connects to the Wii console via Bluetooth wireless technology. Below the LEDs, an expansion port lets you connect a number of devices including the Nunchuck and Classic controllers for Virtual Console gaming (Virtual Console games and controller accessories sold separately). Other features of the Wii Remote include adjustable rumble force-feedback and a reinforced wrist strap to ensure safe use. A speaker inside the remote gives the player feedback about the strength of swings or the accuracy of their moves- such as realistic tennis noises as the "racket" connects with the ball in Wii Sports. Overall, the physical design of the remote is extremely sturdy and of very high quality, ensuring countless hours of Wii gaming fun!

5 out of 5 stars Wii Remote Controller.......2007-09-17

As far as I know, it is the only controller available for the Wii System.
I highly recommend the rechargeable controllers with the charging station.
Besides always having fully charged controllers ready, you help the environment by not using so many batteries.

4 out of 5 stars Muy bueno.......2007-09-16

Excelente funciona bien pero el unico inconveniente fue que cuando me lo enviaron lo mandaron solo en una bolsa

4 out of 5 stars Wii is great. Do NOT buy from Amazon........2007-08-24

Wii is fun. I am not a hardcore gamer and I like it. You need to buy extra controllers because the Wii is shipped with only one remote and one nunchuck.
Multi-player gaming waayy better.

Do not buy remote or nunchuck from amazon. They take forever to ship. Use the amazon site to find other vendors and buy from them.
Enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Feels like you are in the game.......2007-08-20

This controller senses movement and sees where you are pointing on screen which is great for shooting. This controller makes playing games more fun than last generation controllers. I recommend buying rechargeable batteries because you will waste batteries playing this and I don't even turn on the vibration and speaker on the wii mote. The speaker on it sounds very cheap and is very difficult to hear, but it is a real good concept. It can only sense the pointer from about 8 feet away which isn't very far especially when you are playing on a big screen and you don't want to stand so close to the TV.

4 out of 5 stars Very Good Contoller.......2007-08-18

The Wii Controller is a very fun, very interesting and smart new controller for our generation. The consept behind it is that tha controller is supposed to be an extension of your body, so where ever you move the controller the game your playing will react to those movements(depending on the games your playing like Wii Sports and Legend of Zelda). While it is fun there are some things that Nintendo could have done better. For Example - The Wii controller is a little too sensative sometimes(when you play Tennis on Wii sports, sometimes I try not to move or else I will hit the ball too soon or too late). The Wii Controller runs on Batteries just like The Xbox 360 controller, and could've been like the PS3 controller with a recharchable controller. The fact that most games have to use the detachable Nunchuck attachment, it is really f***in retarted that they would sell it seperatley, and the price of both the Wii controller and the Nunchuck is about the price of a Next-Gen game ($60.00 plus tax) which is not that bad but it is a hassel especially that the Wii is meant to have 4 controllers so that would cost about as much as $200.00. The sound that is built into the controller is cool, but I can't lower the volume on it which is annoying especially if its night time and trying not to wake the people around me that are trying to sleep(if you can someone tell me) and it sounds like a cheap toy. And the last thing is that when you have to turn the controller to its side to play some games it is a lil uncomfortable, it doesn't feel right. Still I like the new concept over the casual game controllers But they could've done a lil better on it.

Amazon.com Review

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 305. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 305 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 305 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. The 305 model includes wireless heartrate monitoring and it can also be connected to Garmin's wireless bicycle speed and cadence sensor. If you don't need these features, consider the lower-priced Forerunner 205.

Design
The 305's design is a radical departure from Garmin's previous generation of wrist mounted GPS devices, which reached a pinnacle with the Garmin Forerunner 301. While the 301 delivered accurate heart rate monitoring, good performance tracking, and decent GPS reception, it didn't quite deliver in the design department. The form factor was bulky and wearing it wasn't much different than duct taping a full-sized GPS device to your wrist.

Not so with the 305. Garmin's engineers obviously burned the midnight oil and have come up with a waterproof design that, while certainly not as small as a sports watch, feels just as comfortable. The curved casing allows the unit's antenna to face the sky when you're running, while the widescreen display is perfectly positioned for viewing when you need it. And the display certainly deserves a few kudos. While it's smaller than the display found on previous Forerunners, its resolution is far higher, offering incredible clarity and crispness.

Garmin has smartly given the 305 a simple button layout and the buttons have a nice tactile feel with good pressure response. The right side houses the menu selection and enter buttons, while the left houses a power/backlight button and a mode button. This simple and elegant solution is a big improvement over the sometimes confusing button functionality of previous Forerunners. View button layout.

The underside of the 305 is pretty nondescript, except for a row of contacts that interface with the included charging and data cradle. The cradle is small and unobtrusive and its single mini-USB port connects to either an included AC adapter, or a USB cable that connects to your PC. In addition to data transfer with the USB cable, you can also charge the 305's embedded lithium-ion battery via a powered USB connection from your computer.

GPS Performance
The big news about the Forerunner 305 is that it features an integrated, high-sensitivity SiRFstar III GPS receiver. What does this mean? It means that the 305's ability to both track, and maintain a lock on, your position is better than anything before it. After an intial battery charge, the tester had the 305 on his wrist and was tracking speed and distance with GPS satellites within 3 minutes. The next time we used the 305, satellite acquisition was nearly instantaneous. A run through dense trees didn't faze the unit either; tracking remained true and steady. Performance on a bike was equally impressive. Whatever witchcraft has been cooked up by the designers of the SiRF technology, we like it!

The simple docking cradle makes charging and data connectivity a snap.
While the Forerunner 305 isn't billed as a GPS navigation device, it does have some rudimentary mapping, waypoint marking, and routing capabilities. In addition to marking locations along your journey, you can zoom in or out of a simple map that displays your current direction and path. There's also a "go to location" feature that routes you back to your starting location, or to any location you have defined. Once you have defined several locations, you can save this information as a route, allowing you to travel the same path in the future. As you'll see below, the 305's new "Courses" feature gives you new levels of control over how you define your favorite runs and rides.

Training Functions
The 305 is first and foremost a training tool, and its ability to organize a ton of data types into a user experience that is intuitive and simple is no small feat. Whiz-bang technology aside, if you can't use it and make it a natural part of your exercise routine, it's worthless. When it comes to these factors -- and here's the take home message on the 305 -- this device is successful where many other devices fail.

The heart and soul of the 305 can be found on the data screens, which give you real-time information about all aspects of your workout. In fact, the 305 can display a dizzying array of data, such as calories burned, distance, elevation, grade, and heading, as well as multiple lap and pace modes. The 305 adds the ability to track heartrate, lap heartrate, average heartrate, and heartrate zones via the included coded heartrate chest strap. With the purchase of a separate wireless cadence and speed meter, you can also track bike performance data.

Thankfully, the device makes it easy to define how much or how little data you want to view during a workout. You can arrange the data that's most important to you and then make that data appear front and center on the device. Indeed, within a few minutes of skimming the manual and fiddling with the device setup, you'll have your most important data displaying just the way you like it. The ability to display heartrate is a big plus, too, as it's a fairly good indicator of excercise output, fatigue, and fitness level. The 305 has all the heartrate functions you'd expect from a full-function monitor, including the ability to set target zones and alerts to maximize the effectiveness of your workouts.

Garmin's Virtual Partner function was cool feature of previous Forerunners and they've decided to keep a good thing going with the 305. If you're the type that performs best when you've got a competitor egging you on, you'll love this function, as it allows you to set up virtual running or biking companions that compete against you.

If you're looking for an complicated workout with a variety of intervals and intensity levels, or just a quick three-mile jog against your best time last week, the 305 has you covered. Navigating to the Workouts menu on the device yields three options: Quick Workouts, Interval, and Advanced Workout. A quick workout is just that; set the distance and time, distance and pace, or time and pace of your planned workout and off you go. Interval workouts are just the same, but they allow you to add repetitions and rest between them. When you really want to get fancy with your exercise, you can step up to advanced workouts, which include goals for each workout step, as well as varied distances, times, and rest periods. You can use the Garmin Training Center software to set up these workouts and then upload them to the device.

PC Connectivity and Software
Garmin has been outfitting their devices with USB connectivity for some time now -- a welcome move for those who struggled with serial port connections in the days of yore. Thanks to USB, the 305 integrates seamlessly with the Training Center software and we quickly had workout history uploaded and stored on the PC (Sadly, Training Center is not Mac-compatible). Not only does Training Center make it easy to track your performance, you can graph data such as heartrate alongside your speed and distance. Over time, this is a great way to view your fitness levels increase, and it also helps you see what types of workouts are necessary to strengthen your weaknesses. For instance, if you see your heartrate begin to spike after a certain distance, you know you need to increase your endurance workouts to train that area of fitness.

In a first for the Forerunner series, the Training Center software also lets you define courses on your PC that you can upload to the device. When course information is combined with uploaded workout information, the Forerunner becomes a complete guide, telling you where to go, when to make a turn, and what kind of workout to do when you're on the road or path. Back on the PC, the software's ability to overlay workout data on maps of the course makes it easy to see where the course offers up the tough hills and the easy recovery spots. Plus, the ability to track historical performance on a given course is a great way to measure your improvement.

The 305 is also fully compatible with Garmin's MotionBased service, which takes your training to another level by connecting your data with the Internet. While we weren't able to use the service, the promise of sharing courses, maps, workouts, and performance data with other users is intriguing. And if you're a serious endurance athlete, you'll be glad to know that the 305 is also compatible with TrainingPeaks.com, an easy-to-use web based training system designed to help athletes train for any event.

Amazon.com Product Description

The successor to the Garmin Forerunner 301 is here, and it's better than ever. Weighing in at just over 2.5 ounces, the Garmin Forerunner 305 breaks new ground in terms of comfort, style, and performance. Totally redesigned, the 305 gives outdoor athletes and runners real-time information about speed, distance, pace, and heart rate on a device that's easy to use and amazingly compact.

The Forerunner 305 features the powerful new SiRF GPS navigation chip for supreme accuracy, even under tree cover and between tall buildings. A coded chest strap heart-rate monitor prevents unwanted interference from other devices. View larger.

The unit's GPS receiver is designed to face towards the sky when you're running.

A more watch-like design makes it far easier to use and wear.
Plus, the 305 is engineered to help folks train better and smarter. Training assistant tools, various distance and time alerts, and bundled Training Center PC software combine to make the device an essential part of any athlete's training program.

The 305's digitally coded heart-rate monitor--which is worn as a chest strap--sends heart-rate data to the device so you can see whether you're training too hard or not hard enough. Alerts for pace, distance, time, and heart rate are also available. Additionally, the unit tracks speed, distance, pace, and calories burned. Meanwhile, a course feature lets you race against previous runs in order to improve your time or just compare heart rate and pace data at every point of the way.

The 305's easy-to-read, 1.3-inch display has been integrated into a sleek and stylish form factor that is definitely a step up from the larger and more cumbersome Forerunner 301 model. Indeed, the 305 looks and wears like a stylish sports watch, and it's more carefully designed to meet the needs of athletes. The design also positions the antenna with an optimal view of the sky. As an added feature, the case is water resistant to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes).

Accuracy is the name of the game with the 305. The vastly more accurate GPS antenna and receiver, which uses an advanced SiRF chip, offer much faster satellite acquisition times. Plus, the unit can hold a fix in places never before possible. Gone are the days of losing a fix under tree cover or when running between tall buildings. All of these features add up to far more accuracy in recording and tracking your exercise data. And because the 305 uses GPS to track how far and how fast you're going, you never have to calibrate it. The unit also doubles as a basic navigator. Mark your starting point as a specific location, see your current position on the plotter display, and follow an electronic breadcrumb trail back to your starting point.

The 305 features a USB data connection and docking cradle for downloading your speed, lap, exercise time, and heart-rate data into Garmin's Training Center PC software. The unit stores up to 1,000 lap histories, which you can download to your PC for a detailed post-workout analysis. Plus, you can create and schedule workouts using the included software and download them to the unit. A rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery offers up to ten hours of battery life.

For additional post-workout analysis, the 305 is compatible with MotionBased software. MotionBased adds a new dimension to training and outdoor fitness that makes the analytical aspects of a sport more compelling and a lot more fun. You can upload data to MotionBased, a Web-based application that has partnered with Garmin. MotionBased provides in-depth analysis of your workouts, as well as online mapping and route sharing that will take your training to the next level. MotionBased automatically calculates time, distance, speed, elevation, and heart rate, and it displays this information through meaningful charts, illustrations, reports, and maps. With MotionBased, you can also race multiple instances of the same route to see how you are improving or to race other members of MotionBased. You can "virtually race" someone you don't even know.

If you like the features of the Forerunner 305 but don't need heart-rate monitoring, be sure to check out the Forerunner 205.

4 out of 5 stars Great product!.......2007-09-27

Excellent product! Very helpful to figure out your running distance and elevations. One particulary nice feature is the ability to set alerts for when your pace falls below or above a specified range.

5 out of 5 stars Great product!.......2007-09-26

The garmin is a great product for documenting your training and more importantly it's easy to use.

5 out of 5 stars The Best yet.......2007-09-26

I had been using the Garmin 301 for the past 20 months and it was a great device. However, this 305 is better. The GPS is much stronger and picks up the satelittes quicker. The heartrate monitor does not go on and off near powerlines like the 301 did. All of the options available make this a perfect device for running, biking, hiking etc. I do triathlons and the only negative is you can't swim with it. Also, for a 50 year old the font is pretty small on some of the screens. Other than those two small complaints, this is the best device on the market for the price.

1 out of 5 stars Fun While It Lasted!.......2007-09-24

The best exercise watch I ever had! Could generate amazing graphs for post-run analysis, race against my own PR, and even overlay my runs on GoogleEarth.

Unfortunately, after only 13 months of use - 1 month out of warranty, the unit won't turn on. Okay, so I work with Garmin support, and after a few latent iterations (up to 3 business days per response, egad!), my only option is to send it in for repairs. Okay still, except ALL repairs are a flat rate of (gulp) $99.

I wish Garmin made the rechargeable battery serviceable by a retailer or jeweler, similar to competing products. I realize that this might not be the problem, but since it appears to be fully functional when powered, it would be a worthwhile $10 test, as opposed to spending half the cost of a new one to get the not-so-old one repaired.

Goodbye Garmin! I miss you already!!!

5 out of 5 stars Love the Garmin 305.......2007-09-22

I love this product! As a runner, this tool has helped me better track my weekly and per workout mileage and even made me a stronger runner overall since I can tell when my pace is slowing and I need to kick it up. I'm still learning all the features and nifty things it can do - two other running friends have it and we compare notes on the features we find.

My only complaint is that it really can only be used for actual movement activities such as running, walking and biking. The heart rate monitor will not tell you how many calories you're burning if you're using it for a calisthenics workout - I wore it at a boot camp fitness class (calisthenics, strength work and running) and in an hour it said I burned only 250 calories because it only registered calories burned when we ran. Other people in the class with regular heart rate monitors showed that we burned 600 calories or more. So I won't rely on it for class any more except to tell me how far we run!

But overall, I am very satisfied - it's a great training tool for the averge to serious runner/walker/biker.

5 out of 5 stars 5 of 5 For This camera.......2007-09-26

Bought this one as a replacement for an old 2.1Mp Sony DSC-P50.. When i took my first picture and downloaded to my iBook the images spoke by themselves.. The quality is impressive and all the features on this camera are more than excellent for average to advances photographers (without spending twice or more on a dSLR)

5 out of 5 stars Great camera.......2007-09-26

I bought a 2 GB memory card to to use with the camera and had trouble transferring the photos to 700 MB Cd's, I think I will buy two 1 GB memory cards. The camera works GREAT I am glad I bought it.

4 out of 5 stars A+ transaction.......2007-09-24

Product works great, feel it was a better buy here than at local chain store

5 out of 5 stars GREAT CAMERA.......2007-09-22

I have had an old Canon SLR for a hundred years, and this is my first digital camera. It is Great!
Read many reviews regarding different makes, and decided to stay with Canon....you can't go wrong. For a general purpose camera with the added function for zoom (ball games etc) it can't be beat. And, for a first time digital user it is very easy to learn. Anyone want to buy an old Canon SLR?

5 out of 5 stars Great Value.......2007-09-21

For the price, this is a great camera. Easy to use. LOTS of functions... just take your time learning them all

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great tool!.......2007-09-24

This calculator works like a dream. It makes so many complicated financial calculations easy and accurate. Don't get me wrong, Excel is great, but this is great when the computer isn't nearby!

2 out of 5 stars Worst key entry ever! .......2007-09-23

This calculator looks nice and has great functionalities no doubt, but it's the worst key entry experience I've ever had with any calculators! The keys are simply too hard and one would need to exert a lot more force down on each of the keys for the input to register. As such, like many have complained in the previous posts, this makes calculation extremely slow, not because the calculator itself is not able to perform the task, but to punching in all your numbers would simply take too long and too much effort, with the added risk of not being able to enter everything correctly because the key pad is just so damn hard to press!

So frustrating! Why can't they just learn a thing or two from the casio fx series, once you've used those calculators you never want to touch another one again. Too bad casio doesn't make cfa approved calculators.

I'm starting to really really hate using this calculator.

3 out of 5 stars I only bought this calculator for the CFA Level 1 Exam.......2007-09-13

I have owned this calculator for about two months. I don't like it much. If I had to do it all over again I would spend more time considering the HP financial calculator.

The most annoying thing about this calculator is that the buttons are so hard to press. Sometimes, when I am entering many values and punching away at the calculator quickly, the buttons feel so resistant that it often misses some of my keystrokes. That forces me to press the buttons slowly to make sure that everything I press gets entered. I have not had this problem with other calculators. I haven't taken the exam I am studying for yet, but when I do, I hope this wont take up too much of time on exam day.

Also, in the CFA Level 1 curriculum, the annuity payment for an ordinary annuity is a positive number, represented by the variable A. But on the calculator, you have to enter the annuity payment as a negative number to get the correct result. Under most circumstances this wouldn't seem like a big deal but with so much to learn for the exam, this is something that I would rather not have to make a mental note of on exam day.

The calculator does have some positives. The best part of my experience so far has been with the statistical functions. All you have to do is enter the observed value for up to two random variables and it will display the mean, the population standard deviation and the sample standard deviation of both variables. It also stores these results so that you can manipulate them.

Another huge plus is the calculator's memory functions.

Finally, I am getting used to the cash flow functions and, up to now, have had a decent time with them. But, of course, using Excel is so much easier.

It probably also does correlation, but I don't know yet because I haven't needed to use that function yet.

4 out of 5 stars Stupid Idea.......2007-09-10

The leather case is so stupid. Anything in my bag could potentially touch the on/off button under the leather case and turn the calculator on .

5 out of 5 stars Super price, quality product.......2007-09-08

I had a BA II and upgraded to do financial and estate planning calculations sans computer. Contrary to many reviews of the product, I liked the keyboard feel and didn't have any difficulty entering numbers. It has a solid feel and is easy to read. I did have to read the manual.

You can't just grab the calculator and add and divide. This is set up as a financial calculator and must be setup for arithmetic. A great intermediate calculator that will keep you going when the computers are down.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Very good but a bit complicated.......2007-09-25

Its a nice camera with possibly all d features which I might want to have...the only downside is that its a bit 2 complicated for amateurs like me..this is my first digicam but I'm pretty much satisified with its performance though i havent been able to explore it fully...the zoom is just amazing and gives you a feel of an SLR...for those who dont know abt this camera, they'd probably mistake it for a low end SLR..
On the whole, its a good buy and value for money..

5 out of 5 stars Canon PowerShot has Power.......2007-09-24

I wasn't sure if I should get this or the Olympus, but I made a good choice. The charged batteries always last longer than we expect, the camera is purse sized, although a bit heavy. It has the reach I want in a lens for a small digital - the only problem is that, sometimes, the autofocus focuses on the wrong things.

5 out of 5 stars My new favorite camera - travels well and no need for addl lenses.......2007-09-24

I have several digitals. This by far is my favorite one. So many cool features. It's got the large lense of my Olympus C700, the photo quality of my Nikon D40, and the portability and features (and then some) of my Fuji 5100. I really prefer to use manual mode so that I can control shutter and aperture. Took me very little time (about a hundred photos or so) to build a mastery.

What I like most so far:
- Incredibly high quality photos even at max zoom (including digital zoom)
- A high speed continuous shooting mode
- Neat flipover LCD screen
- A viewfinder that displays exactly what my photos will look like as I compose
- Just enough buttons to avoid having to navigate through just one feature screen
- Helpful histogram display option
- uses 4 AA's; hooray for no proprietary battery
- super cool Accent photo mode which will result in a black and white photo but with one color that you preselect still in view (think of a rose bush with only red roses and all backround in shades of gray)

The images are terrific. They thought of everything. But just to be fair there are a few wish list items.

- Viewfinder is a touch smaller than I would like.
- Focusing the viewfinder is required more often than I would expect
- The camera width is just a bit narrow; an extra half inch on the left side would feel more comfortable in its grip

I like that the flash does not pop up automatically. This keeps from accidental firing in locations where flash is not permitted. I also found lots of menu choices which give me control over sounds, power timer, etc. easy to navigate.

But it's all about the pictures. No need for extra lenses. When I need to get close, I just zoom in. There's even a Super Macro mode that gave me some stunning looks at ants on a branch and a bee on a feeder.

This is a terrific all around camera. Even shots taken through windows look clear. No noticable noise.

I recommend it highly (especially now that the price is dropping). Best value for the top quality you'll be getting.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect digital camera.......2007-09-23

Canon PowerShot Pro Series S3 IS 6MP with 12x Image Stabilized ZoomO'd put off buying a digital camera until we saw what my brother's Canon PowerShot Pro Series S3 IS could do. We needed one for everyday and and special occasion photos and my daughter (the aspiring artist) wanted one with more creative capabilities. We bought this camera just before a cross-country trip. It takes beautiful pictures and is simple enough for me to use. With extra memory cards and a car battery charger my daughter took over 700 pictures a day. Needless to say she used all of the different settings, all the pictures came out well and using the high-speed, action setting she was able to take clear pictures out a car window driving at freeway speeds!!! We are so glad we bought this camera. It's the perfect camera for both of us.

4 out of 5 stars Great camera.......2007-09-22

This camera was a major improvement on our old point and click. Make sure you order a separate, larger, memory card and read the manual to get the most out of the features.

Amazon.com Review

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor -- for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305 -- but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data.

Design
The 205's design is a radical departure from Garmin's previous generation of wrist mounted GPS devices, which reached a pinnacle with the Garmin Forerunner 301. While the 301 delivered accurate heart rate monitoring, good performance tracking, and decent GPS reception, it didn't quite deliver in the design department. The form factor was bulky and wearing it wasn't much different than duct taping a full-sized GPS device to your wrist.

Not so with the 205.

Garmin has smartly given the 205 a simple button layout and the buttons have a nice tactile feel with good pressure response. The right side houses the menu selection and enter buttons, while the left houses a power/backlight button and a mode button. This simple and elegant solution is a big improvement over the sometimes confusing button functionality of previous Forerunners. View button layout.

The underside of the 205 is pretty nondescript, except for a row of contacts that interface with the included charging and data cradle. The cradle is small and unobtrusive and its single mini-USB port connects to either an included AC adapter, or a USB cable that connects to your PC. In addition to data transfer with the USB cable, you can also charge the 205's embedded lithium-ion battery via a powered USB connection from your computer.

GPS Performance
The big news about the Forerunner 205 is that it features an integrated, high-sensitivity SiRFstar III GPS receiver. What does this mean? It means that the 205's ability to both track, and maintain a lock on, your position is better than anything before it. After an intial battery charge, our product tester had the 205 on his wrist and was tracking speed and distance with GPS satellites within 3 minutes. The next time we used the 205, satellite acquisition was nearly instantaneous. A run through dense trees didn't faze the unit either; tracking remained true and steady. Performance on a bike was equally impressive. Whatever witchcraft has been cooked up by the designers of the SiRF technology, we like it!

The simple docking cradle makes charging and data connectivity a snap (Forerunner 305 model shown).
While the Forerunner 205 isn't billed as a GPS navigation device, it does have some rudimentary mapping, waypoint marking, and routing capabilities. As you'll see below, the 205's new "Courses" feature gives you new levels of control over how you define your favorite runs and rides.

Training Functions
The 205 is first and foremost a training tool, and its ability to organize a ton of data types into a user experience that is intuitive and simple is no small feat. Whiz-bang technology aside, if you can't use it and make it a natural part of your exercise routine, it's worthless. When it comes to these factors -- and here's the take home message on the 205 -- this device is successful where many other devices fail.

The heart and soul of the 205 can be found on the data screens, which give you real-time information about all aspects of your workout. In fact, the 305 can display a dizzying array of data, such as calories burned, distance, elevation, grade, and heading, as well as multiple lap and pace modes.

Garmin's Virtual Partner function was cool feature of previous Forerunners and they've decided to keep a good thing going with the 205. If you're the type that performs best when you've got a competitor egging you on, you'll love this function, as it allows you to set up virtual running or biking companions that compete against you.

If you're looking for an complicated workout with a variety of intervals and intensity levels, or just a quick three-mile jog against your best time last week, the 205 has you covered.

Thanks to USB, the 205 integrates seamlessly with the Training Center software and we quickly had workout history uploaded and stored on the PC (Sadly, Training Center is not Mac-compatible).

The 205 is also fully compatible with Garmin's MotionBased service, which takes your training to another level by connecting your data with the Internet. While we weren't able to use the service, the promise of sharing courses, maps, workouts, and performance data with other users is intriguing. And if you're a serious endurance athlete, you'll be glad to know that the 205 is also compatible with TrainingPeaks.com, an easy-to-use web based training system designed to help athletes train for any event.

Amazon.com Product Description

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor--for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305--but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data.

4 out of 5 stars Much improved GPS watch!.......2007-09-26

I had the Forerunner a few years back and decided to exchange it for a foot pod pacing watch b/c it took forever to find the satellites and i did not feel it was very accurate after i exited tunnels etc.

I am pleased to say the product is *much* improved! It finds the satellites easily and the accuracy is tons better! I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to for an accurate pacing watch. Or the 305 if you want your heart rate also.

Be sure to download the software updates if they come out, that will also help the accuracy.

3 out of 5 stars Great GPS but software interface not very intuitive........2007-09-19

Great GPS. Software interface a bit difficult. A little bulky but then again I am a woman with a little arm. Would like if the battery indicator was on the main screen. It would help me to know when I need to charge it back up.

4 out of 5 stars I was frustrated until I learned the trick..........2007-09-15

I have used this product since April and have been very satisfied overall. I really like the way it synchs data with my Mac.

The menus take a while to figure out. It's like cell phone software in that it takes a number of clicks to get to exactly what you want.

I live in Hawai'i and I was getting irritated walking around in circles staring at my wrist while the unit tried to locate satellites. Then I read a great tip on-line. Just turn the unit on and put it down; go back inside and put on your shoes. When you come back out, it's ready to go.

5 out of 5 stars Gorman Forerunner 205.......2007-09-14

Enjoying using - I have not used to it's full potential yet - good data and accurate.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent satellite signal reception.......2007-09-14

Purchased the 205 for marathon training. Based on a friend's experience with the 301 model, I was concerned about satellite tracking capability on my usual courses - which have dense overhanging trees. After 4 weeks of daily use, the 205 has never lost track on the routes where the 301 would consistently drop for distances in excess of 1 mile or more.
A brighter screen and color would be nice. But overall, I'm very satisfied. Don't know how I would train without it.

Amazon.com Product Description

Sling Media is now introducing the successors to this groundbreaking product. Now there are three Slingboxes to choose from, each with features that make it easier than ever to bring your TV and other media with you wherever you roam. Choose from the Slingbox Tuner, AV, and Pro models depending on your entertainment needs. Compare Slingbox models.

The Slingbox Pro offers Component HD, S-video, coax, and composite video connections.
Slingbox Pro
The Slingbox Pro ensures that you can watch all of your favorite home theater entertainment anywhere you go, with the ability to watch and control up to three standard definition and one high definition video (via component connection) devices. The Slingbox Pro also includes the free Slingbox Finder service to locate a Slingbox from any network location, in or out of the home.

How it Works

SlingMedia's patent pending SlingStream technology delivers the smoothest and best video quality possible. SlingStream delivers up to a 400 percent video quality improvement over the original Slingbox. SlingStream is powered by a programmable engine that is capable of running the latest video compression algorithms. SlingStream dynamically adjusts to changes in network conditions, video content, and Internet bandwidth.

4 out of 5 stars Easy Installation and it works!.......2007-09-24

I purchased this product a month ago and didn't open the box until tonight because i thought i was going to need a bunch of time to figure this installation out. I was wrong, it took very little time and it worked perfectly from the get-go. I installed it on our two laptops and no problems, only disappointment is that it only works on one computer at a time.

5 out of 5 stars Best possible media solution for TV on Pocket PC.......2007-09-16

This actually does what it's supposed to do and is really a great solution. The one time purchase price is well worth avoiding ANY monthly charges for TV and the lame, watered down selection offered by the cell phone providers is pathetic. FULL cable TV on my pocket PC or any connected computer anywhere in the world is a great capability in my opinion.

4 out of 5 stars PCTV HD To GO / Slingbox Pro.......2007-09-15

I reviewed both the Sling Box pro and the PCTV HD To go by Pinnacle. I purchased the PCTV. There are pros and cons to both. The Sling has a feature that I like that allows you to snap the viewer to your screen like the Vista side bar. Another thing I like bette
