All standard-definition interlaced video signals are treated to Philips' PixelPlus line doubling, which turns them into near-high-definition (HD) images. By doubling the number of lines and the number of pixels per line, PixelPlus enhances both regular TV broadcasts and DVD inputs for unparalleled sharpness and depth.

A feature called Active Control Plus continually adjusts picture settings at over 60 times per second for all inputs, correcting both sharpness and noise reduction, even adjusting for changes in ambient viewing light.

SmartSound lets you select from 3 factory-set controls (movie, music, and speech) and a personal control that you set according to your preferences. A center-channel input lets you use the TV's speakers in conjunction with your multichannel home speaker system in place of an additional center speaker, and a subwoofer output affords simple hookup with a powered sub for dynamic, full-bodied sound even without use of an audio/video receiver.

Auto Color, one of the features of Active Control, measures the color content of the incoming signal and adjusts it to predefined ideal values.

The set pumps a hefty 10 watts per channel x 2, and onboard Dolby Virtual Surround simulates enveloping surround sound from any 2 speakers, while the audio volume leveler keeps the TV sound at an even level for a more consistent, comfortable sound. The unit's .125-inch headphone jack features its very own volume control.

Audio/video inputs include a direct-digital DVI input, 1 component-video (switchable between HD/standard-definition), 2 S-video, and 3 composite-video connections, as well as a VGA computer input, which--apart from its native pixel resolution--offers the following multimedia modes: VGA 640 x 480 (60 Hz), VGA 1,024 x 768 (60 Hz), and SVGA 800 x 600 (56 Hz). GPX's C3317RS sports cassette player is designed for active use. Its water-resistant shell features rubber gaskets that seal out dirt, sand, and moisture. This rugged unit also delivers some nice features, including auto stop, 18 radio station presets, and bass enhancement.

The digital AM/FM stereo radio comes with five programmable preset buttons, positioned in front for easy access. This unit also has 18 presets and up/down scrolling that makes tuning easier. An LCD displays your station selection, and volume is controlled with a thumbwheel. The antenna is built in.

The stereo cassette player offers fast- forward, rewind, and play/stop functions. An auto stop feature concludes play when your tape ends. Like to pump up the bass? I bought this walkman thinking i would get a good deal on it. However the quality is extremely poor. The walkman is extremely bulky at best. The headphones are poor. The sound qualiyt is worse, often you would be only able to get sound out of one ear. There is no rewing button so listening to casettes can be difficult. In addition, the switch that changes the walkman from casette to radio is difficult to use, this goes for the power button as well.

Bottom line, get someting else.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.......2002-02-06

This product is a cheap cheap cheap cheap run of the mill product. Yea it looks cool, all digital like but really when u get it is all plastic like and the cassette player eats tapes, at least it ate my tape and the head phones are chincy and don't work and u can only get sound in one ear and they are really bad. and i would not reccomend buying this product, i would go for sumthing better.

Tape Player not that Good!.......2002-01-05

This cassette player is ok, the radio player is pretty good, except for some stations, like 89X, it doesn't come out very good. and the tape player doesn't work very good, it actually ate one of my tapes! i fixed the tape but i havn't played any tapes in it, i just got it today, 1-4-01, and i might return it, unless i can get it to work, the radio, which i bascally ordered the whole thing for is pretty good, and that is why i bought it for when i go running, and biking... so it is ok, i would get it for the radio but not for the tape player.

I bought this product and it is godawful. I may have gotten a faulty one because the sound is so awful. The range and sound separation is terrible and the volume is horrible. I tried to use it on a long plane trip and was very dissapointed.

This tape player doesn't have a rewind button, and flipping the tape so you can fast-forward it instead is a pain in the middle of a workout. The headphones are also low quality; they certainly don't handle the full volume range of the player, which isn't even that great. The radio reception is also poor. In sum: Bad radio, low volume, terrible headphones, no rewind.

FAR - Great radio for Free!!!.......2004-09-26

We received a set of these radios today from my Mother-in-Law. She got them free after rebate. We just tried them out with my wife and I inside the house and my daughter was able to communicate clearly from appx. six blocks away. We live roughly a mile from a lake, so we will try them out there while fishing: boat to shore, shore to shore, etc. So far, I am very impressed. The signal has been clear. The radios are small, easy to use and really amazing, especially for free!! It's going to be much easier to keep tabs with our 11-year-old when she's out in the neighborhood, at the mall, the lake, etc.

We purchased a large quantity of these radios to use in conjunction with our business. The radios work well, but have a failure rate that seems a little high (appx. 10%) - but the company was very good honoring the warranty - they immediatley replaced our defective radios with new ones.

Incorrectly advertised.......2003-11-08

I purchased this 2-way radio to use in my office. I need the 38 CTCSS subcodes per channel, since we are near a highway and frequently get interference from other users. Though Amazon.com indicated this unit had this capability, it did not. I now must go to the trouble of returning it. I would not have ordered this 2-way radio if representation of this product's features were correct.

I think that says it all. These broke and started picking up every noise except the one you were trying to hear. I'd spend a little more for Motorola and get the supplementary rechargeable batteries with it. It'll be cheaper in the long run.
