This plasma TV includes an a nti-ageing circuit to help prevent screen burn-in and an anti-reflective coating on the screen.

This set uses Philips' exclusive Pixel Plus 2 HD video processor, which provides excellent sharpness natural detail, inc reased depth, vivid colors and smooth and natural motion from standard TV, High Definition signals, and multimedia sourc es. Each pixel of the incoming picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels, resulting in a more natural p icture. The 42PF9630A has a 1024 x 768-pixel resolution, 160-degree viewing angle, a 1500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brigh tness rating, and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Other features include picture-in-picture display (via com ponent and HDMI connections), auto volume leveler, adjustable color temperature and sharpness, sleep timer, and V-Chip p arental controls.

The 3D comb filter separates brightness and color signals better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-luminance and dot-crawl distortion. It performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the colo r from the black-and-white information and remove both horizontally and vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl, r esulting in a razor sharp image.

The Active Control function uniquely and intelligently optimizes picture quality by measuring and analyzing the incoming signal to automatically adjust picture quality settings. Active Control with Light Sensor uses a sensor to adjust the p icture brightness depending on the room light conditions.

The full-color Ambilight feature provides relaxed viewing and a unique ambiance via a soft light glow on the walls surro unding the TV. Research has shown that watching television with adapted ambient lighting promotes more relaxed TV viewin g. The Ambilight colors automatically adapt to the images on the screen to add a new sensation to the viewing experience . The light can also be switched to fixed colors or various shades of white. In standby mode, the lights can be operated to any color and create a unique ambiance in the room.

CableCARD -- The CableCARD system enables the "Plug-and-Play DTV" functionality as agreed between cable operators and consumer electronics manufacturers. It allows the decoding of encrypted or scrambled content delivered from the cab le system. CableCARD functionality includes conditional access and copy protection. A CableCARD-enabled television witho ut a CableCARD inserted receives high-definition standard TV broadcasts. When a CableCARD is inserted, the television re ceives high-value high-definition, cable programming.

HDMI -- HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversio n to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. I purchased my Philips 42PF9630A in June of 2006 from Circuit City for $1799.00. Within the first week the sound would go off all by itself and I would have to turn the set off and back on to get the sound to work. I called Circuit City and they said they would have a repairman get in touch with me. After 6 months of calling for a repairman, one finally called and said he had never worked on this set before but he would pick it up the next week. He never showed and finally in January 2007 after many phone calls, Philips gave me authorization to have the set replaced. Of course this set is no longer being sold at Circuit City. Circuit City was great, they gave me a set 42PF9631D-37 that was selling at the same price as my old one, $1799.00 plus they threw in a Bose CineMate sound system and a 5 year warranty to boot!! The new set is awesome however it has started to have little flashes of blue light on one side of the screen every now and then. Good thing they threw in the warranty!! Would I purchase another Philips TV..... Yes, they may have problems but for the price, cabinet design and especially for the Ambient lights, you can't beat them..

Never buying another Phillips product again.......2007-02-01

First of all, when the TV works - it's great - I enjoy the ambient lights and the picture quality. We love watching movies on it. But if anything goes wrong - BEWARE of Phillips customer service - unless you enjoy being without a TV for several months....

We bought the 42" Phillips plasma with ambient light from Circuit City in Novemember 2005. Exactly 3 days before the 1 Year Warranty was about to expire, the TV just turned off and wouldn't turn back on. We called Phillips and was told that our nearest service provider was in a town 20 minutes away - later after talking to the repairmen, he told us that he had never worked on plasmas before, but "there's a first time for everything." We called Phillips back asking for another technician and they refused saying he was authorized to work on plasmas even after we told them that he admitted to us he had never done it. For about a month, the technician had problems getting Phillips tech support to help him diagnose the problem - finally after narrowing down the problems (there was also a sound problem - where the sound would just cut off - we had assumed it was the cable) they ordered the parts which were on back order. After two months of no TV and several complaints, calls and arguments with Phillips, we finally got our TV back today. It seems to be working fine (knock on wood), but I will never buy another Phillips product again just because of they're rude, slow and nearly non-existent customer service.

bought TV on june 23rd 2006. tv died august 19 2006. loved it while it worked, but found many people having the same problems with "green mold" and black streaks. called customer support, and very politely referred me to local shop. they picked up the tv (per philips request) and took it to shop. over a month before the shop can even get somebody to help diagnose problem. another month waiting on parts that are discontinued. finally a different part arrives and doesn't fix, so tech says we need a new screen and quotes repair shop $3000 for screen for a $1700 tv and says many are already on backorder good luck! philips still won't replace tv so went in to BB where i bought the set, and they are exchanging for a Panasonic. philips customer support lied about parts, said they would do nothing until parts had been on order for at least a month, hung up on me because it was 5:00 and i didn't have an order number and part number for a back ordered part (even though the tech in the morning had no problem looking up my info) and all around treated me in an unacceptable manner. sounds like philips has a long way to go before they realize that people won't spend their money where they are not treated as a customer. i know i won't buy anything with a philips logo ever again not because i had a problem with the tv, but because of the lack of "care" from their customer "care" department.

I have had this tv since March 2006 and love it. The picture is always crisp and clean. It has turned off and rebooted a couple of times while watching it but its back on in about 5-10 seconds. Not really sure why that has happened. The ambilight is great. It really adds to the viewing experience.

I have been happy with my purchase and recommend this tv to everyone.

Great picture while it lasts............2006-10-31

I am now on my second TV and the picture is starting to degrade. Hopefully the store extended warrenty works well. I bought the TV in August 2005. The first TV had a sound problems, I lived with it for several months waiting for a software fix. Phillips replaced it after the repair shop had it for 3 months claiming it was a sound board problem. It turns out the second TV had the same problems and phillips finally fixed it with a software patch. The second TV now has issues with ocassionally rebooting, image ghosting, and flashing when showing a white background. I never have liked the ambilight. When we purchased this TV it had the best picture and features available for the price. Phillips service has been poor(lack of any help, and very slow to supply parts), but I have gotten service with out much difficulty, if you can wait for it.

Not too long ago I got this cd player and I was coming home from a trip and as I walked in my front door, I dropped it on our tile front entry-way. I was soooo mad cuz I broke it!!! This is a totally awesome player!! It's cheap and it works great-the bass is much better than most!! The color/design is totally awesome, and the sound adjustment on the cord is totally convenient!! (that's what I miss the most) so I've come online to order a new one and decided to write a review. I will warn buyers though that the picture is slightly decieving cuz the silvery trim is actually more of a see-through milk white color.(which I like better anyways) Also if you buy one, be extra careful with the headphones when you put them on... they aren't as sturdy as most. and I didn't think about it but it does eat up batteries pretty quickly- but I liked it a LOT > so I really don't care!

this cd player is D rated material. for one, the battery life is extremely short. about 5 hours on a pair of fresh duracell batteries. that ranks it to a B-. another thing is the sound. about average. thats a C+. then theirs the anti skip. it barely works. all in all, D.

When my cd player broke I looked for a new one and found this which works great my favorite features are the hold, esp, and bass boost system. I've dropped it a few times and it still works. Even my friends think it looks cool and gives very good sound with the right earphones.

Decent CD player for the price I paid for it. Headphones are of no use....you would need your own to listen to music. ESP works pretty well in my car. Color will need some getting used to :) I dont see it that much myself. Buy it if you have a cash crunch, for real quality go for Sony or Panasonic.

Worst buy ever.......2004-03-21

A waste of eight bucks. Looks ok, and you would think that a phone would be so ubiquitous that it would be hard to get wrong, but man, this thing is wrong. The sound is terrible, tons of background static. I get better sound on my 4-year-old cell phone. Plus, the included phone cord is way to short, pretty much meaning you can't stand up with it if it is on your desk, you must remain seated in order to keep the phone from being jerked up into the air with you. You'd be better off going to Goodwill and getting a secondhand phone from back in the day when they knew how to build one.

Poor for Wall Mounting.......2003-10-03

Good: the sound is good and their are a couple extra options on this corded phone (sound level, ringer loud/quiet/off, tone/pulse, flash, mute, redial).

Bad: when the phone is mounted on the wall and hung up, it does not actually hang up all of the time--I have missed several important calls because it was not actually hung up. A phone is virtually useless if I can't receive calls when I need to! Also, the cord is a bit short and a longer cord costs about as much as the phone itself.

I would recommend looking into a different brand. I am definitely disappointed with my purchase and will not buy another Conair phone.

It is great, It is compact, It is discret, The equalizer is magnific, The voice recording has a good sensibility, In general its sound is good (not great, I would like more volumen but I am conform because it was not expensive), The better in its clase. It comes with the neck lance and the belt clip (It is pretty). You can check the technical specificatons and pay attention with the output power. It is very difficult to find a good micro small FM radio, This item has not a good reception. I did not have problem with the usb tranference. I did not have problems with the jostick. I bought this one only because I do not have more money righ now. I was thinking too in buy the iriver version but the 64MB is discontinued. I am thinking about to sell it and to buy other with more memory, and maybe you would do the same, in this case if you already have the money to buy a better do it. It eat somes bateries (maybe a good recomandation is to buy an mp3 player with AA Batery instead a AAA batery. Provides a perfectly flat viewing surface for video projection applications. Surface mounts to back of black powder coated frame that provides a masking border. Frame available with Pro-Trim finish. Pro-Trim is a fabric frame covering that aesthetically enhances the appearance of the installation while absorbing light that surrounds the viewing area.

Dual Vision is a unity gain flexible projection fabric capable of both front and rear projection. The Dual Vision surface is ideal for video projection under controlled light conditions. With an exceptionally wide viewing cone, each seat in the audience will observe a uniform, sharp image with no color shift. Surface requires tensioning due to its flexible nature. 1.0 Gain with a 50-degree viewing half angle.

Choose from eleven available fabrics for specific projection requirements. Benefit from Da-Lite's optional Pro-Trim fabric frame covering which absorbs bleed off projected light and adds the distinguishing touch to an installation. Fabric snaps to the frame for a tensioned, perfectly flat viewing surface with effortless installation.
