Nice stand. Works well in corner and for LCD TV's........2007-09-08

Was a little concerned to purchase this online without seeing it first. Luckily the product images included a picture with dimensions, so I was pretty sure it would work well - it did.

I wanted something that will fit tight in a corner, and would hold a 42" LCD TV (Philips 42PFL7432D 42" 1080p LCD HDTV with Ambilight). This does the job well. See User Photo in photo section.

Assembly was easy. The stand is well designed and sturdy. I like the cutout on the bottom as it tends to make the shelf look smaller than it is, letting it disappear from view.

Only reason not to give 5 stars is the price is a little high, even with the good Amazon discount.

Gorgeous stand.......2007-07-28

This stand is the OEM stand for the 2006 60 & 70" SXRD XBR2. When I bought my 70" TV in October, this stand was not yet available for purchase. I ended up going with a generic universal stand.

Now that the model year is coming to an end, this stand is on clearance, so I jumped on it.

The stand comes pre-assembled in a large box. So large, in fact, that shipping costs were in excess of $100. However, the lack of sales tax and the clearance price made up for the shipping costs.

The stand is gorgeous. As you can see from my picture, the stand makes the TV appear to "float" because of the recessed cavity for the TV set's footprint.

My last universal stand had the TV sitting flush with the top of the stand and did not have the same "float" characteristics. The area below the top also allows a proper placement for a center channel speaker. My last stand had a wood support beam right in the middle, so the center channel had to be offset to one side or the other.

The stand has a very unique wire management scheme and a TV strap which secures the set to the stand. The universal stand did not. The set looks classy with it's shiny black lower opening which hides the stand's supports so all you see is the top and bottom silver shelves. The stand also has a rolling mechanism which I found to be a *huge* help in moving the system around.

If any of you out there has a 2006 60 or 70" SXRD XBR2 without this stand, I highly recommend getting it while you still can!!!!

Product is VERY porely packaged by the manufacturer, making glass shelves VERY vulnerable to being broken in shipment. Fortunately, Amazon's return policy is very user-friendly and efficient. Don't waste your time ordering and returning - buy something else.

I like the design, it's very functional and small. You can connect the charger, phone and usb cable at the same time.

When you mute from the stand, you can use other phone functionalities that are not available when you mute from the phone. A nice green light brights when charging the phone, and a red light when it's mute.

I just like having the Answering button and the mute button more distanced. It would be nice also having a volume control. When the volume is too high the other person listens an echo, but these are little details compared to all of the benefits.

This is really a speaker and a charger. I wish I had gotten it sooner.
When I am on a call and get put on hold for 10 or 15 minutes, I can go abaout my business and hear when they finally answer. I can sit at my computer and talk while I work too.

More than 6 months since I ordered it and still has not arrived.......2005-05-22

I ordered this telephone on May 2nd, that is 20 days from today. When I was buying it, it read on the site that it would be delievred in 1 or 2 days. When I received my confirmation e-mail it read that it would be shipped between May 14 and May 21, that is 12 days later. Today May 22nd, and 20 days later it has not even been shipped. I have not been able to try the telephone due to logical reasons, but I dont recommend it to anyone. What is the use of it if you cant get it.
UPDATE: May 29th 2005
Almost one month since I ordered this telephone and I got a message saying it might be delivered in still 15 days more. What surprises me about all this is that they still state in the web page that this item "usually ships in 1-2 days" Which as you can see is completely untrue. Amazon, I feel you have to do something about vendors like this, to protect your customers.

Today I got a message saying that there is a "delay" with my order now until the 24th of June (that is almost 2 months since I first ordered the telephone), and that I need to approve this delay so that we can continue processing my order. But in the site the telephone information states that it can be it ussually delivers 1-2 days. I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS.

I got a message today stating that the telephone will still be delayed more:

But on the product specifications it keeps saying that it can be delivered between 1-2 days. I think this false information should be take out from the site, it atracts people thinking they will have their telephone delievered in 2 days, and then later they will get a message that it will be delayed. Just like me, 2 month is the estimated delay by now, but who knows it might be even longer, after their own behaviour. I have the idea that they want me to cancell my order. Well I wont do that, they can cancell it if they want, and I will write this down in here aswell, for all your potential customers, I hink I have never been treated so unrespectful by any seller in the internet or anywhere else.

This is the worst service I have ever come across with. You can still see online that the telephone will deliver in less than 2 days, but they wont ship mine. How come ? What is the trouble ?
