Gorgeous stand.......2007-07-28
This stand is the OEM stand for the 2006 60 & 70" SXRD XBR2. When I bought my 70" TV in October, this stand was not yet available for purchase. I ended up going with a generic universal stand.
Now that the model year is coming to an end, this stand is on clearance, so I jumped on it.
The stand comes pre-assembled in a large box. So large, in fact, that shipping costs were in excess of $100. However, the lack of sales tax and the clearance price made up for the shipping costs.
The stand is gorgeous. As you can see from my picture, the stand makes the TV appear to "float" because of the recessed cavity for the TV set's footprint.
My last universal stand had the TV sitting flush with the top of the stand and did not have the same "float" characteristics. The area below the top also allows a proper placement for a center channel speaker. My last stand had a wood support beam right in the middle, so the center channel had to be offset to one side or the other.
The stand has a very unique wire management scheme and a TV strap which secures the set to the stand. The universal stand did not. The set looks classy with it's shiny black lower opening which hides the stand's supports so all you see is the top and bottom silver shelves. The stand also has a rolling mechanism which I found to be a *huge* help in moving the system around.
If any of you out there has a 2006 60 or 70" SXRD XBR2 without this stand, I highly recommend getting it while you still can!!!!

Perfect fit.......2007-08-24
I thought this stand was somewhat overpriced, but most stands seem to be for what you get. That being said, this stand is nice looking, solid and built specifically for the Sony KDS-60A2000, which I have. The TV fits perfectly with a locking lip and tie strap. If you have one of the TVs this stand is made for, it's definitely worth the price.

My KDS-55A2000 looks great on this thing! The triangular shape made it fit perfectly in an otherwise hard-to-fit corner. Is very sturdy and was easy to assemble. My only complaint is the broken rear support peice and badly gashed top shelf. Fortunately, I was able to repair the rear support with wood glue, and the gashes in the top were covered by the front fascia, but it looks like UPS (or Amazon's handlers) threw the box down a flight of stairs! The box was badly torn and bashed up--I'm AMAZED the glass shelves weren't broken!
Great stand for this TV.......2007-05-14
Since this stand was made specifically for the Sony TV it is an excellent choice. I really like the way the TV secures onto the stand instead of just sitting on top of it. This is a huge plus with such a big TV. There is a lip on the front where the front of the TV slides in and you don't even notice it plus there is a heavy strap in the back to secure it. Now my kids are worried about knocking this expensive TV off the stand.

a sleek accessory .......2005-11-07
This Tv stand is very nice, but there are few short comings. First of all it looks great with the right TV on it. It has all the solidarity of a sony product, and even incorporates a belt to "srtap" the front heavy TV into place. The stand took me about 30 minutes to put together, and it's HEAVY! So get help, also take a minute and measure the size of any components you wish to put inside. The space is small, but a reciever will fit if you leave the galss doors off of it. It doesn't look bad without the doors, but be prepared to lose that finished look if you want your elecrtonics placed under the TV. If you intend to assemble it yourself, you should not have too much of a problem. GET HELP when you are ready to move it, and when you are ready to set the monsterously heavy TV into place.
