Customer Reviews:
Great little bluetooth adapter!.......2007-09-24
This adapter works perfectly! Follow the directions in the manual and it's ready to go in minutes. It recognizes my phone 3 rooms away. I use it with a W810i and have no problems.
Works Great.......2007-09-23
I had the belkin bluetooth adapter which killed my wireless. I got this and there were no problems ez install......no lag
Bluetooth USB Adapter.......2007-08-14
Worked first time with plug-and-play capability plugged into a Kengington hub on a Apple MacBook. However, my Bluetooth mouse keeps dropping the connection and there is a delay in making the mouse connection when the computer display has been dark. That may be the mouse rather than the adaptor, though. Overall I can recommend this product.
Nice!.......2007-08-13
Works very well. No problems at all. Easily recognizes all of my equipment. File transfers are fast.
Great for laptop usage.......2007-08-06
I am very pleased with this item. I use the devise to connect to a bluetooth enabled printer. There are also several other options available that I've been exploring.

Works Perfect.......2007-09-21
I use Kubuntu Linux, and i just had to plug it in. It works wonders, i have proven until 20 feet and it runs very fast.
It never worked.......2007-09-05
I bought this low quality product (craftmanship etc) for a lower price. And literally it took my money for nothing.
I tried several drivers for this product and none of them worked. I couldn't make it work on XP and windows 2003 after wasting several hours on this.
I will never recommend this to anyone and suggest spend more money and get a good one.
Extremely Inexpensive -- and it worked the first time!.......2007-08-24
Considering the extremely low price, I was doubtful whether this product would work well. I was very pleasantly surprised!
I was disappointed to see NO INSTRUCTIONS in the box. I put the CD in the drive and installed the software on my wife's HP laptop with Windows XP Home Edition. I had to keep telling Windows Defender to let the software install. (This might be tricky for a beginning user.) After I rebooted, everything came up fine.
My Motorola RAZE V3R paired up with the new Bluetooth adapter fine, and I was able to transfer files from the phone to the laptop right away. The laptop user interface allowed me to cut and paste multiple files at a time. This was great because the integrated Bluetooth on Thinkpad only allows me to transfer one file at a time.
I am extremely impressed with the functionality for such a low price. I will probably buy more at this price. However, I think beginning users will have a tough time with this, because of the lack of instructions and the nonintuitive user interface.
This works under linux..........2007-08-21
I got this in the mail, plugged it in, and dmesg showed a new active bluetooth device! I was surprised that for 3 bucks this worked. I'm currently running Fedora 7 with the latest updates. Works with my wiimote using the cwiid driver and can pair my phone (the only two bt devices I have).
I highly recommend this for the price!
Works with Windows XP & 2003 & Samsung PC Studio.......2007-08-10
I've been wanting to create & upload my own ringtones without paying data charges & now I can. I figured for the price, it was worth a try. It was confusing to get started, though. First install the driver disk & have your phone "see" it, then go into services to find out which com (serial) port it has been assigned. Now open the Samsung software & manually assign the port - don't use auto discovery. Hope this helps! I'm happy!

More instructions.......2007-09-03
It works all right, but at the time you install it in your pc is really difficult because the instructions are not enough clear. I had a problem with de COM port, and I took me all day long to find out what to do.
Does the job!.......2007-08-23
The TRENDnet bluetooth adapter installs easily and has a nice interface for connecting your bluetooth devices. I use it for downloading pictures from our camera phone -- the process is simple and efficient. I quickly have the photos moved to the directory I want on the computer.
Smooth.......2007-07-16
I installed the CD, put the adapter in and - it worked! In this day in age when install processes always seem to have a catch - it's nice when something work. I'm using this to sync up my Palm TX and it works fine, slower than using the cable, but works fine.
Next step is to try and use a bluetooth headset with Skype
What more could you want?.......2007-07-02
Good price, does exactly what i need it to do. If you need your computer to have bluetooth capability, this is what you should get.
TrendNet tbw-101ub.......2007-06-10
The only issue I've encountered so far for this product is that the adapter is not yet compatible with Windows Vista. I'm sure it is a great product but have yet to use it because I'm waiting for TrendNet to release a driver for Vista.

Customer Reviews:
This item is not MSVista Ultimate compatible........2007-08-19
Amazon did a great job both on sending and the return for this item.
If you have MicroSoft Vista Ultimate, you should look elsewhere for a bluetooth USB adapter.
I was looking to add BlueTooth to my Durabook N15RI. I was disappointed that the Durabook does not support Bluetooth and that the Linksys adapter wouldn't work with Vista because I've been very pro-Linksys.
I was not going to rate the product since it does not work on my laptop.
But, Amazon requires a rating in order for me to post this.
Unusable with Plantronics Pulsar 590E.......2007-08-15
Although I could connect to the headset, the audio would only work for a few minutes until it went silent, where I'd then have to stop/start the Linksys adapter and reconnect. After trying to upgrade the Bluetooth software, My Bluetooth Places stopped working and the problem remained. Buy the Anycom adapter instead of Linksys. Although Anycom uses the same Bluetooth stack, installation is cleaner, range is better, and the audio is clear.
DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!!!.......2007-06-19
When I first bought this product it was great and worked well then after 2 weeks of use the antenna connected to the device breaks off and did not work. When I called Linksys about the problem they called it and I quote "The device must have been put under unusual conditions." They also refused to give my money back. Well in the trash it goes!
No problems.......2007-06-08
The adapter works well. I use it for gaming with a motorola headset & vent - no issues. Plug and play usb keeps everything simple.
Works Great.......2007-04-12
I have several computers in my home and one is rather old. This USB plug and play device gave one of my older computers bluetooth capability. Just what I needed. Easy to install and use.

Customer Reviews:
Good choice.......2007-09-07
Works excellent with my Bluetooth headset Plantronics Voyager 510. Easy installation. If you need a driver for Vista it is available on Kensington official web site.
NOT RECOMMENDED.......2007-09-05
I bought the KENSINGTON 33348 BLUETOOTH USB 2.0 ADAPTER thinking that was an excellent choice for a TOSHIBA A205 S4777 NOTEBOOK (which is without Bluetooth: what a shame). But this device never works with my IOGEAR USB 2.0 PRINTER ADAPTER. The Iogear technicians told me that their device was able to run or work with any Bluetooth devices in the market, and believe me that it is true. The technician from KENSINGTON never resolved my problem, I sent several communications that were answered very fast, I sent all my notebook file "mycomputerinfo" to Kensington for research and they are doing it now, looking for the problem or researching my technical case. For me as a senior Engineer I believe that Kensington has a really bad software for that USB Bluetooth device that works or run with windows vista 32 bit. They need to make a complete research with the new software. When I bought the Bluetooth it came with all the software for all windows OS except for Visa OS which I have had to download from their web page (the drivers for vista for the usb kensington bluetooth). I recommend this product for all users of Windows XP and also other versions with 32 bits. BUT THIS DEVICE "KENSINGTON USB BLUETOOTH" IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR WINDOWS VISTA USERS EVEN DOWNLOADING THE UPDATE THEY HAVE FOR VISTA. IT DO NOT RUN OR WORK WITH MY IOGEAR USB PRINTER DEVICE 2.0. SO, NOT COMPATIBLE FOR ALL VISTA USB BLUETOOTH DEVICES: NOT RECOMMENDED. I RETURNED the device YESTERDAY NIGHT TO THE SELLER THROUGH THE EXCELLENT SERVICE OF AMAZON. BY THE WAY the technicians of kensington were excellent in attention and fast. But the product is not ok I think that it is for the software. I hope this will help to everyone. Regards,
Definitely more than expected.......2007-07-09
I was looking for a Bluetooth 2.0 device, and I have always been a big fan of bluetooth - however fan and user experience has been spotty at best. Finally, a device that can do well in multiple environments (sync with Palm, bluetooth headset, and use a mouse). I was just looking for it for my VoIP application, but it more than delivered. It actually worked with multiple vendors (Plantronics, Microsoft, and Palm) - a rarity in this day and age. Now if they could just take this technology and embed it into my laptop.....I would be a happy guy.
Bluetooth USB 2.0 Adapter.......2007-06-08
Needed to upgrade my Mac PowerBook G4 with Bluetooth. I've used Kensington products before on the MAC. Great choice, product worked right out of the box, just put it in the USB port and it worked, no need to run CD or download any software.
Works great most of the time.......2007-05-08
So handy I have two of them. The only problem is that when I connect it to my flat screen and then swap connectivity of the flat screen between my two laptops I sometimes have to reconnect my wireless keyboard.

Customer Reviews:
doesn't work with everything.......2007-08-24
Read before you buy! I guess I forgot to do my research.
So far there is only one update on IOGear's website for the driver and none for the firmware. And I found out the hard way that they are needed.
Out of the box, I couldn't connect my Blackberry phone to my PC through this adapter as a remote audio gateway and the driver update solved the problem. So far so good.
Then my Motorola S9 headset came in and it didn't play the sound well. I tried a bunch of different things (reboot, different device settings etc.) and it started playing, but not for long. It started cutting out and became very choppy and eventually more silent more than it played music. I rebooted again and thought maybe it was Winamp and the way it uses directaudio so I tried WMP 11. No luck. Tried both programs on another PC and nothing.
So after few minutes of searching online, it seems that others had similar issues with their laptops based on the same/similar chipset. Those that were able to update their firmware and drivers eliminated their problems.
This could be a good device but it needs support.
Recommend buying Anycom 200 or 250. It seems they provide frequent updates.
Works Great! Price can't be beat........2007-07-03
I bought 2 of these and I could even connect two PC's or the PC with my cell phone for Active Sync from different floors in our office building! I have a bluetooth mouse and other bluetooth devices and I am very happy with the performance of this product. I chose the class 1 for range and it was worth the money - I turned off the internal bluetooth and choose to use this USB device due to the improved performance and reliability. I really got my money's worth (I bought 2 for less than I paid for one of the earlier version 9 class 2 device).

Just got it, but works great with windows Vista .......2007-06-17
Just download drivers from their site, and you're done!! Does what it said. Also great for A2DP (stereo bluetooth headphones). I'll check my the review later to add more info.
Good Product.........2007-05-07
Overall this is a very good product. I was looking for dongle which supports MS Bluetooth stack and this is the perfect one.
Works like a charm.......2007-03-23
This bluetooth dongle works like a charm. The included software package makes it easy to configure the system to do just about anything you could think of with bluetooth, from answering your phone through the computer (don't know why you'd want to though...) to easily moving files back and forth from device to device (what you're probably buying it for).
It's a bluetooth 2.0 device, so there is a nice strong signal to connect to (of course, the other device should be 2.0 as well to take advantage of the extended range), and it fits well next to other USB devices on my computer (unlike some other dongles I have bought in the past that nearly take up two ports worth of width).
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking to add Bluetooth to their home or mobile pc.
Good product, driver installation may be tricky.......2006-10-16
I purchased this product to pair with a Bluetooth headset/headphone to listen to music and be able to talk on Skype while away from my computer. The device is performing fine, however the setup has been a bit problematic. When you plug in this device (or any other Bluetooth device for that matter) to a pc with Windows XP (Service Pack 2), it will be recognized and set up to work with Microsoft's Bluetooth driver. However Microsoft's current driver does not support audio communication with headsets, so if you use a Bluetooth headset you will need to install the adaptor's own driver. The driver software cd comes with the product but it may be worthwhile to check MSI's website for more recent versions of it. My experience with this driver has been less than perfect; I had to uninstall/reinstall several times for the device to function with MSI's driver properly. Also you may need to manually disable Microsoft's driver after this installation if it is not disabled automatically during the installation of MSI's driver.
Overall I am happy with my purchase and I think this is a quality product.
I also want to add some information that can be deemed useful by future buyers of this Bluetooth adaptor:
Two characteristics you may want to consider when purchasing a Bluetooth adaptor are its data transmission speed and its range.
The data transmission speed of a Bluetooth adaptor (a.k.a. dongle) depends on the adaptor's protocol version. The products that sell today are either Version 1.1, 1.2 or 2.0, with the last two being more dominant. Version 1.2 operates at speeds up to 0.7 Mb per second and Version 2.0 operates at speeds up to 2.1 Mbps (3x Version 1.2 speed).
Bluetooth adaptors also have a 'Class' rating which determines their range. Oldest (and now obsolete) class is 'Class 3' which had a range of 1 meter (~3.3ft). Today you can find products that are either 'Class 2' or 'Class 1'. Class 2 Bluetooth devices transmit up to a range of 10 meters (~33ft), while Class 1 devices transmit up to 100 meters (~330ft). Classes are not version specific; older Version 1.2 adaptors are Class 2, more recent 1.2 and 2.0 Versions are Class 1.
An important thing to keep in mind when buying a Bluetooth adaptor is that neither the connection speed nor the range of your network will fully be determined by your adaptor. After all, it's a network and the receiving device also has a thing to say (bottleneck issue). A Class 1 , Version 2.0 dongle, for example, will not perform up to its maximum range (330 ft) or maximum data transfer rate (2.1Mbps) if it is paired with a receiver device (headset, printer etc..), that is Class 2 and that is Version 1.2. The speed and range of such a network will be closer to the inferior values in each category, in this case closer to those of Version 1.2 and Class 2. However such a network should still work fine because the version and class protocols are backward compatible; units with newer protocols will work with units with older protocols.
To sum up, buying the adaptor with the best features will not necessarily make your Bluetooth network faster or further reaching unless it is paired with a receiver device that is equally advanced. Today, for example, almost all Bluetooth headsets you can find in the market are Class 2 (for practical power saving purposes, since these devices need regular charging) and hence will not work at distances much more than 33ft even if they are paired with Class 1 adaptors.
Product Description
Add Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology to your PC or notebook! This transparent blue device features a USB 2.0 interface and is Bluetooth specification v2.0 compliant. With an operating range of up to 100m, you can easily transfer data to other Bluetooth devices!
Bluetooth 2.0 far exceeds the capabilities of Bluetooth 1.1/1.2, but still is backwards compatible with 1.x. The main enhancement is the introduction of Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) of 2.1 Mbit/s. This has the following effects (Bluetooth SIG, 2004):
3 times faster transmission speed (up to 10 times in certain cases).
Lower power consumption through a reduced duty cycle.
Simplification of multi-link scenarios due to more available bandwidth.
Further improved BER (bit error rate) performance.
It supports Bluetooth voice data, offers multi-language support and plugs into any device with a USB port! Get wireless connectivity with other Bluetooth devices today!

Works great.......2007-06-14
I had this dongle for about a year. No problems. I use it to synchronize my phone with the PC. And I use it with my Bluetooth headset for chatting.
Great and cheap!.......2007-04-07
Works like a charm.. no problems.. and ofcourse the price is great!
not worth your time........2007-04-05
I tried this out of curiousity. It doesn't connect reliably enough times nor does it do what i want it to do. Skip this product and buy from a reputable manufacturer, you'll be saving yourself all the frustration.

Bluetooth Dongle.......2007-01-24
Very dificult to pair with every device I tried. Software does not have detailed instructions. Even after I managed to get it paired it has yet to connect to anything. Gave up and tossed it in the drawer.
Nice and Easy, but TOO fragile........2007-01-12
I bought this item about 2 weeks ago, and installation was easy enough, however, after 1 week the product was flaky...it wouldn't connect without a little 'jiggling'. Now it comes up with a message saying that the usb device is malfuntioning.
On further inspection it is really cheaply made which is why I think this one sells for $9 instead of $19-40 as others like Belkins and Dlinks do. I would recommend spending a few dollars more for one that is not so fragile.
Also, for reference, I am a computer technician, and am a stickler for quality.
Product Description
The Bluetooth PC850 PC Adapter lets you take it all along without feeling tied down. Plug the adapter into your computer's USB port and let the music flow! work exactly the way it was suppose to
Great product.......2007-05-14
We were looking for Bluetooth technology for Motorola/Sony computer. This is perfect.
Don't lose your disk.......2007-04-02
Product work fine once you figure out it's little idiosyncracies. Had a lot of trouble getting the computer to recognize the adapter whenever i unplugged it. Had to remove and reinstall the software on occasion. Also remember once it tells you that a connection has been established you may still need to press the button on the RIGHT side of the headphones (Motorola HT820) to hear anything. Would recommend it if you can get it at a good price like i did, but would not buy it retail.
Not as bad as they say...........2007-03-28
This little unit works great for me along with an H500 bluetooth headset. I use it for making calls via Skype and have had great success. I bought mine used from another very large online auction site and also didn't receive any drivers.
A resourceful and web savvy internet user could have easily found them and had them installed in less than 20 minutes....At least that's what I did. Lot's of folks have them posted on FTP servers and other locations. They are out there, you just need to put forth a little effort in finding them.
My experience with this product has been just fine.
great.......2007-02-12
Fast shipment, great , now I can listen to stereo music from my laptop when I'm in any room

Be Careful.......2007-07-18
I have vista and it does not work. The company was useless about letting me know when an updated driver would be available. Wiat for the MOGO mini USB adaptop its a 1/5th of the size
nice unit but slow as snot.......2007-07-18
I got this unit thinking it would be great for uploading files to my camera and otherwise comunicating via blue tooth. it does quite well for just being a blue tooth adapter, but the speed for transmission is like 50Kb/sec maximum....which is fully unacceptable. this is to an older nokia blue tooth 1.1 phone. I would recommend a different unit if you are trying to send information in any sort of quantity.
Poorly made -- broke the first day.......2007-07-10
This product worked for one day.
It is very poorly made.
It does not even have a cover for the connector.
The manufacturer made this as cheaply as possible.
Not Compatible But Works.......2007-07-05
This product disappointed me as it is not recognized by MS Windows as a compatible device. It still installs and works but it does give some trouble when it is being installed.
Crashed My System.......2007-06-13
After installing this product and the accompanying software on my PC, I was able (eventually) to use it to connect to my Nokia cell phone. It took a bit of fiddling around to get to work, however. I was able to transfer files between my PC and my cell phone. The problem was that the device drivers caused my system to crash constantly. It was to the point where my system became useless. Needless to say, I had to uninstall the drivers. My system has been fine since, but now I don't have Bluetooth capability. I am running a PC that is less than a year old and am using Windows XP SP2.
