What can be said, same as the wireless controller that came with your Xbox 360. Quality controller and you 2 to play someone else so go for it.

5 out of 5 stars This is the best thing XBOX 360 have!.......2007-09-21

I don't know why the best thing about the XBOX 360 platform happened to be the controller, actually this is true in my case the console broke down on me a couple of times during the first six months but the control stay good as new, even after a few falls and heavy use

5 out of 5 stars Great Purchase.......2007-09-10

This is a great purchase, really does make gaming better and no hassle without all the chords. Wireless is definetly a good choice.

5 out of 5 stars A must have.......2007-08-23

This is one of those cases of "I didn't know what I was missing until I tried it"

I was fine with a wired controller and decided to get this just because I wanted to be able to turn off my xbox remotely from my bed, rollover and go to sleep without having to get out of bed to put the controller away.

I wish I had gotten it from day 1 now; the lack of cables is just so comfortable I can't go back to wired now. My dog no longer trips over the cord while I'm playing, I can have the controller with me while I'm on my computer and use it to browse through pictures, videos, or music in Media Center; and it makes watching DVD movies with the girlfriend all more enjoyable since I don't have to get all tangled up with the cable every time I pause it for bathroom breaks.

Battery life so far is great; I'm not a heavy user, but I've been using this controller for about two hours every night since I got it a week ago, even with the rumble feature on I still haven't had to recharge it once.

I highly recommend this controller, and while you are at it pick up a quick charge kit too.

5 out of 5 stars Go Wireless!!!!..........2007-08-18

I fought the idea of going wireless for quite a long time, as I was extremely satisfied with my wired unit. I play with friends that have wireless controllers, I initially did not like the feel or the weight of the controller. Now having a need to purchase another controller, I decided to be the last of my team and buy one. I could not be happier! Now, I see why they have enjoyed playing wireless. Yes, I have found that the battery pack that comes with the unit and uses Two AA batteries is what makes it weigh differently. I also purchased the Quick Charge Kit, which comes with a Battery Pack which is lighter than the controllers' pack. Once I was able to charge the pack and switch it in the controller, my weight problems were gone. I simply love this controller now, wireless is the way to go!.....

For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.

With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You'll never need to use a dedicated "landline" phone headset again.

The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from wi-fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you'll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time.

5 out of 5 stars Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset.......2007-09-24

Works well, easy to configure. Make sure you keep it charged adequately else it will keep shutting down without any warning!

5 out of 5 stars Great Product!.......2007-09-24

This is my fourth Blue Tooth headset, and I am very pleased with it. I had one other Plantronics and two Motorola's. I drive a truck occasionally and people always complain that they could not hear me, just all the noise. This headset only picks up my voice, even with the window down people can hear me clearly! I had spent quite a bit more for the previous headsets. What a great find on Amazon for only $50! I learned about this product from a friend of mine who also drives a truck. I am so glad I found it. A truly outstanding device, well worth the money!

3 out of 5 stars Multipoint Technology - Where?.......2007-09-24

I bought this headset specifically for its ability to connect to multiple devices (phone and laptop) at the same time. However, it doesn't seem to, pairing with one device always loses paring with the other. The Plantronics documentation (user guide included with the device as well as what I can find on their web site) doesn't even mention multipoint.

5 out of 5 stars plantronics voyager 510.......2007-09-23

after doing much research i really like this headset. i can hear the person i am talking to clearly and the other person can hear me well. very satisfied.

5 out of 5 stars Plantronics Voyager 510: finally bluetooth excellence.......2007-09-22

After trying several major bluetooth headset manufacturer brands, the Plantronics Voyager 510 performs excellently. Callers on the other end of the conversation can hear me without static. The multipoint capability allows almost flawless control over my Nextel Blackberry and my Pocket PC phone using just the one headset for both. This eliminates the need to have to choose which phone to use with the headset. This is the best bluetooth headset that I have ever owned.

Amazon.com Product Description

If you're looking for vehicle navigation that's powerful and simple to use, the Garmin StreetPilot c340 is just the ticket. Right out of the box, this unit helps you make the right turns wherever your travels take you. With an easy-to-use touchscreen interface, text-to-speech voice commands, a brilliant display that shows the way with 2D or 3D animations, and a massive points of interest database, the c340 has all the basics covered. Plus, you'll find some great additional features that make it a must-have companion.

Look Mom, no buttons! Garmin has taken simplicity to a new level with the c340.
The c340 is designed with simplicity in mind, although Garmin hasn't forgotten to add a touch of class. With a weight of under ten ounces and a width of 4.4 inches, the c340 is ultracompact and easy to transport. To keep confusion on the road to a minimum, the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The bright 3.5-inch-diagonal display features a touchscreen, making it a snap to input routing information and make quick selections on the road. The c340 sports dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, a USB port for PC connectivity, and an internal lithium-ion battery that provides power when you're planning your routes outside the car (approximately 4-8 hours battery life). In addition to an included 12-volt power adapter for in-car power, there's also an SD memory card expansion slot for use with other Garmin MapSource mapping products. The unit is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield, allowing for easy portability between vehicles. You can even customize the c340's appearance with optional colored faceplates that suit your style. While the c340 has an internal GPS antenna, it also has an MCX-type connector for hooking up an optional external GPS antenna.

Finding your way with the c340 starts with inputting a location on the touch screen. Next, the unit's text-to-speech feature speaks to you just like a back seat driver, telling you the names of streets and when to turn and in what direction. And if you happen to miss a turn--don't worry, the c340 automatically calculates a new route to your destination. Audible and visual navigation instructions and warnings help you navigate more quickly while keeping your eyes on the road. You can also choose between a 3D mapping perspective or 2D overhead view.

The c340 offers clear, easy-to-read 3D directions.
Another time- and frustration-saving feature of the c340 is the database of preloaded maps and points of interest. Gone are the days of uploading partial maps from your computer to your GPS device: the c340 has them all built in. The unit comes preloaded with Garmin's highly detailed City Select NT street data of the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Finding points of interest along your route is made easy with the c340's huge built-in database of nearly six million hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin has also made it easy for users to upload custom points of interest--now you can add school zones or safety cameras to your database. You can even turn on a proximity alert to notify you of upcoming custom points of interest.

Garmin really kicks the power of the c340 up a notch with the addition of real-time traffic information. This optional service will display congested areas on a color-coded map, allowing you to avoid traffic by simply pushing a button that calculates a new route. All this wizardry is made possible by the new Garmin GTM 10 receiver that connects to the c340 and other select Garmin products. Note that while the GTM 10 receives digital data from specific FM broadcast stations in select major metro areas throughout the United States and Europe, note that these traffic services are available only in select cities where coverage exists. The service requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and, in some cases, a subscription to enable these traffic capabilities.

What's in the Box
StreetPilot c340 receiver with built-in antenna, dual internal speaker system for voice guidance and alerts, vehicle suction cup mount with 12-24 volt adapter, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, preloaded City Select North America NT database, and quick-reference guide.

5 out of 5 stars StreetPilot c340 - Perfect toy for the long rides...........2007-09-24

Did a lot of homework before purchasing a GPS... knew that Garmin was one of the best names out there...

Great toy... simple and easy to use - and does everything you want it to do.

Highly recommend this item...

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous!.......2007-09-24

We LOVE our Garmin Street Pilot. It's intuitive, easy to use, and easy to understand. We had experienced another model that did not speak the street names (e.g. "turn in 500 feet"). We were constantly going past the street and having to listen to the lady say, "Recalculating . . ." This c340 is a basic model that speaks the street names. There's no mistaking where to turn. What a relief.

5 out of 5 stars Great invention.......2007-09-24

This Garman navigation system is easy to use and immensely helpful. How did I ever live without it? It is so reassuring that I will never get lost again!

3 out of 5 stars Good GPS, though not perfect.......2007-09-23

I had this GPS to replace a cheap one, which often drag me to a wrong way or one way street. I have to say, overall, it's a great one. It does take me door-to-door, wherever I am and where I want to go. It's very accurate, never get me lost. The voice is loud and clear. Control is very easy and quick.
A few cons I feel it's important to mention:
-The alert is so close that can cause you to miss a turn. It'll wait until 0.1 miles to remind you to turn, which means if you're driving in a downtown, it might drive you crazy. So you need to quickly glance at the screen to make sure if it is your next turn because the screen changes must faster than the voice.
-Although I have the V8 map, the data seems not very up to date. If you want to find an Exxon gas station, for example, it will guide you to that station, but it might or might no longer be Exxon any more.
-The route it gives you is not always the best route. If you choose "Fastest time", it will drag you to the nearest beltway no matter it may be 10 miles futher or what the traffic condition is. If you choose "Shortest distance", it will draw you the most zig zag route, which means the shortest distance for ... the bird, not the car.
-The power switching is kind of annoying. If for some reason the plug gets loose, the power will be lost and it will notice you to "Continue in battery power" or it will shut down by itsefl in 30 seconds and counting down, which means you have to touch the screen to switch to battery or lose the direction. It can be annoying and distract your driving if your power plug is old, like mine.
-You can change the voice to other languages, but only the American voice "Jill" can spell and speak the street name (Text to speech), others will only say "Turn right" or "Turn left", like in the C330. So if you're considering between this one and the C330, that's how different it is, I guess.
Other than those, this is a nice and reliable GPS to have.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent! .......2007-09-22

I was looking for a GPS unit since I often travel around the country for business. After a few days of research, I decided on the Garmin based on the reviews here. I couldn't be happier! It's an excellent investment. I didn't need alot of bells and whistles, I didn't want to pay big bucks or have to read a manual to figure out how to use the thing! I needed a basic guide to get me around in unfamiliar territory. This unit is totally user friendly and easy to navigate right out of the box. Just enter the address and press GO. The voice prompts you at every turn. Amazon's price was the best and it arrived quickly. If you want an excellent GPS unit at a great price, I highly recommend the Garmin c340. Enjoy!

Amazon.com Review

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 305. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 305 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 305 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. The 305 model includes wireless heartrate monitoring and it can also be connected to Garmin's wireless bicycle speed and cadence sensor. If you don't need these features, consider the lower-priced Forerunner 205.

Design
The 305's design is a radical departure from Garmin's previous generation of wrist mounted GPS devices, which reached a pinnacle with the Garmin Forerunner 301. While the 301 delivered accurate heart rate monitoring, good performance tracking, and decent GPS reception, it didn't quite deliver in the design department. The form factor was bulky and wearing it wasn't much different than duct taping a full-sized GPS device to your wrist.

Not so with the 305. Garmin's engineers obviously burned the midnight oil and have come up with a waterproof design that, while certainly not as small as a sports watch, feels just as comfortable. The curved casing allows the unit's antenna to face the sky when you're running, while the widescreen display is perfectly positioned for viewing when you need it. And the display certainly deserves a few kudos. While it's smaller than the display found on previous Forerunners, its resolution is far higher, offering incredible clarity and crispness.

Garmin has smartly given the 305 a simple button layout and the buttons have a nice tactile feel with good pressure response. The right side houses the menu selection and enter buttons, while the left houses a power/backlight button and a mode button. This simple and elegant solution is a big improvement over the sometimes confusing button functionality of previous Forerunners. View button layout.

The underside of the 305 is pretty nondescript, except for a row of contacts that interface with the included charging and data cradle. The cradle is small and unobtrusive and its single mini-USB port connects to either an included AC adapter, or a USB cable that connects to your PC. In addition to data transfer with the USB cable, you can also charge the 305's embedded lithium-ion battery via a powered USB connection from your computer.

GPS Performance
The big news about the Forerunner 305 is that it features an integrated, high-sensitivity SiRFstar III GPS receiver. What does this mean? It means that the 305's ability to both track, and maintain a lock on, your position is better than anything before it. After an intial battery charge, the tester had the 305 on his wrist and was tracking speed and distance with GPS satellites within 3 minutes. The next time we used the 305, satellite acquisition was nearly instantaneous. A run through dense trees didn't faze the unit either; tracking remained true and steady. Performance on a bike was equally impressive. Whatever witchcraft has been cooked up by the designers of the SiRF technology, we like it!

The simple docking cradle makes charging and data connectivity a snap.
While the Forerunner 305 isn't billed as a GPS navigation device, it does have some rudimentary mapping, waypoint marking, and routing capabilities. In addition to marking locations along your journey, you can zoom in or out of a simple map that displays your current direction and path. There's also a "go to location" feature that routes you back to your starting location, or to any location you have defined. Once you have defined several locations, you can save this information as a route, allowing you to travel the same path in the future. As you'll see below, the 305's new "Courses" feature gives you new levels of control over how you define your favorite runs and rides.

Training Functions
The 305 is first and foremost a training tool, and its ability to organize a ton of data types into a user experience that is intuitive and simple is no small feat. Whiz-bang technology aside, if you can't use it and make it a natural part of your exercise routine, it's worthless. When it comes to these factors -- and here's the take home message on the 305 -- this device is successful where many other devices fail.

The heart and soul of the 305 can be found on the data screens, which give you real-time information about all aspects of your workout. In fact, the 305 can display a dizzying array of data, such as calories burned, distance, elevation, grade, and heading, as well as multiple lap and pace modes. The 305 adds the ability to track heartrate, lap heartrate, average heartrate, and heartrate zones via the included coded heartrate chest strap. With the purchase of a separate wireless cadence and speed meter, you can also track bike performance data.

Thankfully, the device makes it easy to define how much or how little data you want to view during a workout. You can arrange the data that's most important to you and then make that data appear front and center on the device. Indeed, within a few minutes of skimming the manual and fiddling with the device setup, you'll have your most important data displaying just the way you like it. The ability to display heartrate is a big plus, too, as it's a fairly good indicator of excercise output, fatigue, and fitness level. The 305 has all the heartrate functions you'd expect from a full-function monitor, including the ability to set target zones and alerts to maximize the effectiveness of your workouts.

Garmin's Virtual Partner function was cool feature of previous Forerunners and they've decided to keep a good thing going with the 305. If you're the type that performs best when you've got a competitor egging you on, you'll love this function, as it allows you to set up virtual running or biking companions that compete against you.

If you're looking for an complicated workout with a variety of intervals and intensity levels, or just a quick three-mile jog against your best time last week, the 305 has you covered. Navigating to the Workouts menu on the device yields three options: Quick Workouts, Interval, and Advanced Workout. A quick workout is just that; set the distance and time, distance and pace, or time and pace of your planned workout and off you go. Interval workouts are just the same, but they allow you to add repetitions and rest between them. When you really want to get fancy with your exercise, you can step up to advanced workouts, which include goals for each workout step, as well as varied distances, times, and rest periods. You can use the Garmin Training Center software to set up these workouts and then upload them to the device.

PC Connectivity and Software
Garmin has been outfitting their devices with USB connectivity for some time now -- a welcome move for those who struggled with serial port connections in the days of yore. Thanks to USB, the 305 integrates seamlessly with the Training Center software and we quickly had workout history uploaded and stored on the PC (Sadly, Training Center is not Mac-compatible). Not only does Training Center make it easy to track your performance, you can graph data such as heartrate alongside your speed and distance. Over time, this is a great way to view your fitness levels increase, and it also helps you see what types of workouts are necessary to strengthen your weaknesses. For instance, if you see your heartrate begin to spike after a certain distance, you know you need to increase your endurance workouts to train that area of fitness.

In a first for the Forerunner series, the Training Center software also lets you define courses on your PC that you can upload to the device. When course information is combined with uploaded workout information, the Forerunner becomes a complete guide, telling you where to go, when to make a turn, and what kind of workout to do when you're on the road or path. Back on the PC, the software's ability to overlay workout data on maps of the course makes it easy to see where the course offers up the tough hills and the easy recovery spots. Plus, the ability to track historical performance on a given course is a great way to measure your improvement.

The 305 is also fully compatible with Garmin's MotionBased service, which takes your training to another level by connecting your data with the Internet. While we weren't able to use the service, the promise of sharing courses, maps, workouts, and performance data with other users is intriguing. And if you're a serious endurance athlete, you'll be glad to know that the 305 is also compatible with TrainingPeaks.com, an easy-to-use web based training system designed to help athletes train for any event.

Amazon.com Product Description

The successor to the Garmin Forerunner 301 is here, and it's better than ever. Weighing in at just over 2.5 ounces, the Garmin Forerunner 305 breaks new ground in terms of comfort, style, and performance. Totally redesigned, the 305 gives outdoor athletes and runners real-time information about speed, distance, pace, and heart rate on a device that's easy to use and amazingly compact.

The Forerunner 305 features the powerful new SiRF GPS navigation chip for supreme accuracy, even under tree cover and between tall buildings. A coded chest strap heart-rate monitor prevents unwanted interference from other devices. View larger.

The unit's GPS receiver is designed to face towards the sky when you're running.

A more watch-like design makes it far easier to use and wear.
Plus, the 305 is engineered to help folks train better and smarter. Training assistant tools, various distance and time alerts, and bundled Training Center PC software combine to make the device an essential part of any athlete's training program.

The 305's digitally coded heart-rate monitor--which is worn as a chest strap--sends heart-rate data to the device so you can see whether you're training too hard or not hard enough. Alerts for pace, distance, time, and heart rate are also available. Additionally, the unit tracks speed, distance, pace, and calories burned. Meanwhile, a course feature lets you race against previous runs in order to improve your time or just compare heart rate and pace data at every point of the way.

The 305's easy-to-read, 1.3-inch display has been integrated into a sleek and stylish form factor that is definitely a step up from the larger and more cumbersome Forerunner 301 model. Indeed, the 305 looks and wears like a stylish sports watch, and it's more carefully designed to meet the needs of athletes. The design also positions the antenna with an optimal view of the sky. As an added feature, the case is water resistant to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes).

Accuracy is the name of the game with the 305. The vastly more accurate GPS antenna and receiver, which uses an advanced SiRF chip, offer much faster satellite acquisition times. Plus, the unit can hold a fix in places never before possible. Gone are the days of losing a fix under tree cover or when running between tall buildings. All of these features add up to far more accuracy in recording and tracking your exercise data. And because the 305 uses GPS to track how far and how fast you're going, you never have to calibrate it. The unit also doubles as a basic navigator. Mark your starting point as a specific location, see your current position on the plotter display, and follow an electronic breadcrumb trail back to your starting point.

The 305 features a USB data connection and docking cradle for downloading your speed, lap, exercise time, and heart-rate data into Garmin's Training Center PC software. The unit stores up to 1,000 lap histories, which you can download to your PC for a detailed post-workout analysis. Plus, you can create and schedule workouts using the included software and download them to the unit. A rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery offers up to ten hours of battery life.

For additional post-workout analysis, the 305 is compatible with MotionBased software. MotionBased adds a new dimension to training and outdoor fitness that makes the analytical aspects of a sport more compelling and a lot more fun. You can upload data to MotionBased, a Web-based application that has partnered with Garmin. MotionBased provides in-depth analysis of your workouts, as well as online mapping and route sharing that will take your training to the next level. MotionBased automatically calculates time, distance, speed, elevation, and heart rate, and it displays this information through meaningful charts, illustrations, reports, and maps. With MotionBased, you can also race multiple instances of the same route to see how you are improving or to race other members of MotionBased. You can "virtually race" someone you don't even know.

If you like the features of the Forerunner 305 but don't need heart-rate monitoring, be sure to check out the Forerunner 205.

1 out of 5 stars Fun While It Lasted!.......2007-09-24

The best exercise watch I ever had! Could generate amazing graphs for post-run analysis, race against my own PR, and even overlay my runs on GoogleEarth.

Unfortunately, after only 13 months of use - 1 month out of warranty, the unit won't turn on. Okay, so I work with Garmin support, and after a few latent iterations (up to 3 business days per response, egad!), my only option is to send it in for repairs. Okay still, except ALL repairs are a flat rate of (gulp) $99.

I wish Garmin made the rechargeable battery serviceable by a retailer or jeweler, similar to competing products. I realize that this might not be the problem, but since it appears to be fully functional when powered, it would be a worthwhile $10 test, as opposed to spending half the cost of a new one to get the not-so-old one repaired.

Goodbye Garmin! I miss you already!!!

5 out of 5 stars Love the Garmin 305.......2007-09-22

I love this product! As a runner, this tool has helped me better track my weekly and per workout mileage and even made me a stronger runner overall since I can tell when my pace is slowing and I need to kick it up. I'm still learning all the features and nifty things it can do - two other running friends have it and we compare notes on the features we find.

My only complaint is that it really can only be used for actual movement activities such as running, walking and biking. The heart rate monitor will not tell you how many calories you're burning if you're using it for a calisthenics workout - I wore it at a boot camp fitness class (calisthenics, strength work and running) and in an hour it said I burned only 250 calories because it only registered calories burned when we ran. Other people in the class with regular heart rate monitors showed that we burned 600 calories or more. So I won't rely on it for class any more except to tell me how far we run!

But overall, I am very satisfied - it's a great training tool for the averge to serious runner/walker/biker.

Great product for the money. Works pretty well in tree covered areas. A little off on mileage if too many trees clouds etc but great read outs on the computer

5 out of 5 stars Amazing product.......2007-09-20

I am completely satisfied with my Garmin 305, it does everything I want and more. I especially like the upload feature to be able to share tracks with others.

5 out of 5 stars garmin 305.......2007-09-17

Very happy with the satellite watch. Enjoy using all the software to download maps and email data. sometimes it takes longer to tune in to the satellite than I would have hoped from other reviews. Overall, no problems.

Amazon.com Product Description

With a simple touch screen interface, automatic route calculation to any destination, and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions, the StreetPilot c330 GPS navigator is a powerful companion for your adventures on the road. Plus, Garmin has designed the "c-series" of car navigation units to be as simple and easy-to-use as possible-- no more intimidating features, just straightforward, basic navigation at your fingertips. Selecting a destination is as simple as a few finger-strokes, and you can choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional "bird's eye" overhead view.

The streetPilot "c-series" GPS navigators feature a simple touchscreen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination.

The 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap.

The included database features nearly six million points of interests including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions.
The c330 keeps track of places that you find and stores the fifty most recent finds in an easy to access list called Recent Selections, placing the most recently viewed at the top of the list. This becomes a very helpful feature if you visit the same places over and over and don't want the inconvenient of reloading the information in the unit multiple times. Although the c330 boasts distinctive and sleek styling, simplicity is the name of the game. The only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles. You can customize the unit's appearance with an array of colored faceplates that are sold separately.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes pre-loaded with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features an industry-leading five million-plus points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. The c330's bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap. The unit also features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

It's also worth mentioning that with some GPS units the manual to use them is as thick as a phone book, but it was a pleasant surprise to find that the c330's manual was very easy to use and provided many screen shots to make sure the user understood the units capabilities. If you find yourself on the road looking for addresses often and just want a GPS to tell you where to go simply and clearly than this unit was made for you.

What's in the Box
StreetPilot c330 receiver, vehicle suction cup mount, PC/USB interface cable and quick-reference guide. Also includes a factory pre-loaded version of Americas Recreational Basemap and MapSource City Select North America CD with full unlock (for sale in North America).

5 out of 5 stars Excelent GPS.......2007-09-18

With +700 reviews I'll add only things that you may don't know

Pros:
- You can use the GPS to find locations like Restaurants, Gas, etc.
- You can also do a search by name, like Starbucks, and it will display a list with the ones around your location;
- Your route shouldn't have to be from A to B. Your route can be A to B to C to D.
- There is a dashboard which shows few stats of your trip like current speed, average moving speed, time moving, time stopped, etc;

Cons:
- I miss the ability to define alternatives routes.
- It is cumbersome to move the map when viewing the route. There is no arrow keys to drag the map.
- When zooming out the map it will automatically zoom in when you get close to a turn;

If what you want is a GPS to show your way around the city/state/country, maybe find some places to go while on the road and has a limited budget, you'll be satisfied by this one.

4 out of 5 stars great choice for novices.......2007-09-18

5 out of 5 stars Finally -- A Road Warrior Mouse!.......2007-09-24

Almost three years ago, I bought my first Logitech laser mouse. I loved it.

I loved it for the precision it offered when I was working in Photoshop or other graphics program.

I loved it because it could hold a charge for days.

I loved it for the freedom from cords that jerk the pointer away from a specific spot on a photo.

And I loved tossing out all my mouse pads; my laser mouse worked well on just about any bare surface.

But my MX Laser mouse had three qualities I didn't love:

First, when the battery finally died, my mouse died with it. Replacing the battery was not an option on this gadget.

Second, recharging the mouse meant using a cradle that I invariably knocked over, causing me to lose time looking for the mouse and putting the whole setup to right again. I'll admit to being klutzy, but, really, do I need a mouse to make it worse?

Third, the overall size of the MX Laser was uncomfortably large for my small hand. And after a day's work, I often experienced wrist pain.

Now, I'm in love again. With the Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks, I've still got all the features I want (works on just about every surface imaginable, cordless, precision pointing for graphics). But now I have none of the qualities I didn't want.

I can use this mouse indefinitely because when the battery dies, I will simply replace it. No more throwing out the mouse with the dead battery. And the smaller size is a big plus for someone with small hands like me.

In addition, the VX Nano takes up very little room in my notebook case, so now I have a road warrior mouse. I didn't even attempt to cart the clunky MX Laser with its cradle.

I appreciate the carrying case that Logitech has packed with this mouse. Turn off the mouse, zip it in its case, and I'll be ready to travel.

I was happy before, but now I'm delighted.

Five stars and then some. Thanks, Logitech! And thanks, Amazon!

5 out of 5 stars Not enough superlatives! (And no problems with a MacBook).......2007-09-23

If you've ever had to replace your computer mouse, then you know that Logitech covers a wide range of the market, from wireless to corded, from tiny to ergonomic, from no-frills to bells-and-whistles. The VX Nano Cordless was designed specifically for use with laptops, although it can be used on desktops.

The "Nano" refers not to the size of the mouse (it is *not* one of those ultra-portable mini mice) but of the wireless USB transmitter. When plugged in, the transmitter extends a mere 1/4 inch; you can leave it attached, slip your notebook into your case, and carry it away without worrying about snapping it off. If you choose not to leave it attached, the mouse itself has a storage compartment underneath that locks in place so you don't lose it. The mouse itself is 3 3/4 inches long, with contoured, rubberized sides for a comfortable grip. The mouse might prove to be too small for large hands, although most people won't want anything larger for their laptops. It beats the mini mouse I have and rarely use.

The tracking sensitivity of the mouse is excellent, and the scrolling feature is lightning quick. Although you can plug in the Nano and start using it right out of the box, you need to download the installation software to take advantage of the more advanced features such as internet search (really cool!) and browser back/forward at a touch. (Mac users have to download the appropriate installation software at the Logitech site, while Windows users can use the enclosed CD.)

The VX Nano comes with two AAA batteries, a soft case, a Windows installation CD, and an adapter for desktop use. The adapter is primarily for computers that do not have a USB connector at desk level; it consists of a USB connector at the end of a cord, with a port for the transmitter. The port is lightweight and can be easily skewed by accident, but its flat bottom keeps it from tipping over. I have an older Mac desktop, with a low-speed USB port on the keyboard, and I was able to plug the transmitter directly into the keyboard to use the mouse.

This device works as well on my MacBook as it does on a Windows laptop. Going online to download the Mac driver doesn't take any longer than it does to slip a CD into the drive and install from there. The only flaw I discovered occurred when I opened the back of the mouse while the transmitter was still plugged into my laptop's USB port, which turned off the mouse power; my laptop displayed a message that it needed to be rebooted, and the screen was completely frozen, disabling the normal restart/shut down menus. I learned quickly that I had to remove the transmitter *before* opening the storage/battery door.

I own two other Logitech mice, but this is by far my favorite. However, no-nonsense laptop users who plan to navigate documents only might find this mouse too pricey. I, however, have already packed mine in my laptop case, where it will travel from home to work and back again.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for it's purpose.......2007-09-22

I have absolutely no idea how to review a piece of technology. So here is the bear minimum.

This portable mouse is small, compact and even has a space inside the battery pack for storing the USB connector (which is itself the size of a dime) when not in use. It's extremely easy to use and works with my laptop very well and even from a distance of about three feet away. It also comes with a carrying case which is nifty and back/forward buttons for use with the internet.

It works, it's cute. What more is there to say?

Five stars.

3 out of 5 stars Latest Logitech Software works with PowerBook G4.......2007-09-22

For those who have a PowerBook G4 Mac as opposed to an Intel Mac, it appears Logitech's latest software v2.2.2 finally resolves the many issues that have plagued the Revolution series ever since its release. In addition to not having issues with the Nano, the software also works with the VX. However, it took Logitech over 8 months to finally address this issue. MacBook / Pro Intel users will have to wait longer. Logitech's software and support are abysmal, and it is criminal that they are fully aware they are releasing a product that does not work properly with the OS they say it does, as indicated by the multitude of complaints from Mac users on their forum.

As for the mouse itself, the VX Nano is less comfortable for me than the VX. The contour of the VX fits my right hand better, and the page up / down buttons are more conveniently placed. The form factor of the Nano is good for travel, but you could also get a pouch for the VX which is only slightly larger and also very portable. The best method is to try both out before you purchase, or make sure the return policy is liberal, as you have to destroy the packaging in order to find out if you like the product or not.

4 out of 5 stars Very Nice Product !!.......2007-09-22

Works very well for our needs. The small USB plug-in allows us to leave it in even while stored in the laptop case. The mouse is small but comfortable to work with. No problems at all here with this. We're glad we shopped around until this one became available. Now we need to have Logitech come out with a Trackball built on the same idea.

5 out of 5 stars Garmin GPSMap 60CSx Handheld GPS.......2007-09-24

4 out of 5 stars My thoughts on the 60csx.......2007-09-23

Earlier in the summer I made the plunge and purchased a hand held GPS unit. I researched for a couple of weeks. Using the internet of course and also asking friends who are or were familiar with units as civilians, law enforcement as well as a couple of former soldiers. Garmin was the brand that most of the guys came up with. Various units were discuss and after considerable time weighing the advantages and disadvantages of various models I made my decision. I purchased a Garmin 60csx. Once I had the unit I dove into the manual to learn the nuances of the device. GPS units are pretty amazing technology. I even delved into the different satellites that are in orbit and how they work.

Here's some advice on buying a unit. First you need to ask yourself these questions.

1. What do you want the device for? Do you only need a car unit? Do you plan to do anything off-road (hiking, camping, mountain biking, trail running) etc... Probably the most important consideration.
2. What's your budget? That's the second big issue because buying the unit itself is just the beginning. More on that below.
3. How small of a unit do you need? More than a shirt pocket size? A significant issue as the antenna on or in the unit plays a very significant role to the accuracy.

For me I wanted something to use in the car and more importantly on the trail, in the woods. That lead me to look at accuracy issues with the cheaper models in wooded (under the canopy of trees) areas. The cheaper models just do not cut it when you go into the woods. The primary reason I chose the Garmin 60csx is because it is a WAAS compatible unit and it has the SiRF Star III chip set. Two critical systems that give you faster response from the GPS satellites and allow the signals to be captured by your unit under forest canopy. I can even pull signals inside my house and office if I'm close to a window. That's pretty impressive. I've gotten accuracy readings outdoors down to +/-9 ft. The 60csx is the same unit as the 60cx but it adds an electronic compass and a barometric altimeter (won't work in a pressurized airline cabin). Why not get all the bells and whistles when it adds just $20 to the unit? I generally leave the compass off to save battery power in the woods. I use my trusty analog compass I've had since the 70's. It doesn't need batteries and is proven reliable. I also won't go off the paths without a paper topo map. Navigational redundancy is a survival issue.

Here's the deal you don't want to find out after the fact. Buying a $300 unit is just the beginning. The built in maps are very very basic. If you want updated road maps with listings like hospitals, restaurants, gas stations, banks etc... otherwise referred to as POI (points of interest) you'll have to spend another $120 for Garmin's proprietary software called City Navigator 2008 (North America in my case). Only Garmin's software will work on their units. To install the software you have to register the software and it is "keyed" to your unit. Antipiracy is the name of that game. Luckily, in my research I found out that CN 2008 was to be released about a month after I bought my unit. Knowing that in front saved me from buying the soon to be outdated V8 of that software. The other issue is memory capacity. My unit came with a 128MB Micro SD memory card. Certainly not enough to hold all the maps I wanted. I purchased a 2GB card ($20) via a friend which saved me a few bucks. Another tip on software. If you plan to do any land navigation and want topography maps again you'll have to buy Garmin's software. For serious hikers and navigators, you'll want to avoid Garmin Topo 2008. While it covers the entire country the aspect ratio of the maps is only 1:100. If you're used to USGS maps you'll know that you really want 1:24 maps. That said you have to settle for Garmin's National Parks maps. Which is fine with me. I bought the National Parks Topo 24 Eastcoast. A couple of final points regarding maps. I linked you to the NT version of City Navigator 2008. There are two versions of this map. The map data is the same. The NT version has a greater compression rate allowing you to put more or all of the maps onto your memory chip. BUT, the NT software is only compatible on certain units, so if you can use it, buy it. When you get ready to load your maps onto your unit make sure you pick all the maps you want at one time. Each time you load maps onto the memory card you wipe out the previous maps that were loaded (except for the unit's base maps). That said. I have all of the continental US road maps from CN 2008 NT as well as AL, GA, NC and SC National Parks Topo maps loaded on the 2GB card with about 250MB to spare in memory. Not bad! I don't have to worry about changing memory cards etc....

I could go into greater detail about what I've learned but I'll recap a couple of things.

1. Research what you want. There's a lot to know about GPS before buying. Do your homework.
2. Factor in that you'll probably spend close to an additional $200 just for mapping software.
3. Spending doesn't stop there. DC power cord for long road trips. Dash mount, bike handlebar mounts, batteries (more on batteries later). So figure on probably another $50-$100 for all the goodies you'll want.
4. Get something to keep the unit in to protect it. I also recommend something to protect the screen from being scratched. Invisible Shield is supposed to be the hot set up. I had a packet of PDA screen savers laying around that I use on my PDA, iPod, Shot timer and cellphone screens that so far fits the bill.

What starts as a $300 purchase quickly turns into $500+. I'm not one to skimp on quality when it comes to good kit. ;)

4 out of 5 stars Great Product, poor documentation.......2007-09-21

The product performed very well, even in the narrowest canyons of Utah. It is well made, rugged case, definitely gives you the feel of a solid piece of hardware.

My only complaint is with the documentation that came with it. Much of it was written in broken english and left you wondering "how do I do that?" The only real way to learn how to use it was by trial and error.

5 out of 5 stars GPSMap 60CSx.......2007-09-14

My first GPS. I waited, in part, for Macintosh support. I live in the Redwoods, and this GPS has no problem in tall, dense forests, something I was looking for in a GPS, or inside my car without an external antenna. It's also very readable in sunlight. I found this unit fairly intuitive, after reading about how technically difficult it is to learn to use a GPS. I also purchased Garmin Topo 2008. Using the Garmin map converter for Macintosh on a friend's pc, transferring the file to my Macintosh and then to the GPS was much easier than I feared. Garmin has a ways to go before their software is complete, but I'm very thankful for this meager beginning. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Amazon.com Review

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor -- for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305 -- but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data.

Design
The 205's design is a radical departure from Garmin's previous generation of wrist mounted GPS devices, which reached a pinnacle with the Garmin Forerunner 301. While the 301 delivered accurate heart rate monitoring, good performance tracking, and decent GPS reception, it didn't quite deliver in the design department. The form factor was bulky and wearing it wasn't much different than duct taping a full-sized GPS device to your wrist.

Not so with the 205.

Garmin has smartly given the 205 a simple button layout and the buttons have a nice tactile feel with good pressure response. The right side houses the menu selection and enter buttons, while the left houses a power/backlight button and a mode button. This simple and elegant solution is a big improvement over the sometimes confusing button functionality of previous Forerunners. View button layout.

The underside of the 205 is pretty nondescript, except for a row of contacts that interface with the included charging and data cradle. The cradle is small and unobtrusive and its single mini-USB port connects to either an included AC adapter, or a USB cable that connects to your PC. In addition to data transfer with the USB cable, you can also charge the 205's embedded lithium-ion battery via a powered USB connection from your computer.

GPS Performance
The big news about the Forerunner 205 is that it features an integrated, high-sensitivity SiRFstar III GPS receiver. What does this mean? It means that the 205's ability to both track, and maintain a lock on, your position is better than anything before it. After an intial battery charge, our product tester had the 205 on his wrist and was tracking speed and distance with GPS satellites within 3 minutes. The next time we used the 205, satellite acquisition was nearly instantaneous. A run through dense trees didn't faze the unit either; tracking remained true and steady. Performance on a bike was equally impressive. Whatever witchcraft has been cooked up by the designers of the SiRF technology, we like it!

The simple docking cradle makes charging and data connectivity a snap (Forerunner 305 model shown).
While the Forerunner 205 isn't billed as a GPS navigation device, it does have some rudimentary mapping, waypoint marking, and routing capabilities. As you'll see below, the 205's new "Courses" feature gives you new levels of control over how you define your favorite runs and rides.

Training Functions
The 205 is first and foremost a training tool, and its ability to organize a ton of data types into a user experience that is intuitive and simple is no small feat. Whiz-bang technology aside, if you can't use it and make it a natural part of your exercise routine, it's worthless. When it comes to these factors -- and here's the take home message on the 205 -- this device is successful where many other devices fail.

The heart and soul of the 205 can be found on the data screens, which give you real-time information about all aspects of your workout. In fact, the 305 can display a dizzying array of data, such as calories burned, distance, elevation, grade, and heading, as well as multiple lap and pace modes.

Garmin's Virtual Partner function was cool feature of previous Forerunners and they've decided to keep a good thing going with the 205. If you're the type that performs best when you've got a competitor egging you on, you'll love this function, as it allows you to set up virtual running or biking companions that compete against you.

If you're looking for an complicated workout with a variety of intervals and intensity levels, or just a quick three-mile jog against your best time last week, the 205 has you covered.

Thanks to USB, the 205 integrates seamlessly with the Training Center software and we quickly had workout history uploaded and stored on the PC (Sadly, Training Center is not Mac-compatible).

The 205 is also fully compatible with Garmin's MotionBased service, which takes your training to another level by connecting your data with the Internet. While we weren't able to use the service, the promise of sharing courses, maps, workouts, and performance data with other users is intriguing. And if you're a serious endurance athlete, you'll be glad to know that the 205 is also compatible with TrainingPeaks.com, an easy-to-use web based training system designed to help athletes train for any event.

Amazon.com Product Description

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor--for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305--but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data.

While the Forerunner 205 isn't billed as a GPS navigation device, it does have some rudimentary mapping, waypoint marking, and routing capabilities. As you'll see below, the 205's new "Courses" feature gives you new levels of control over how you define your favorite runs and rides.

3 out of 5 stars Great GPS but software interface not very intuitive........2007-09-19

Great GPS. Software interface a bit difficult. A little bulky but then again I am a woman with a little arm. Would like if the battery indicator was on the main screen. It would help me to know when I need to charge it back up.

4 out of 5 stars I was frustrated until I learned the trick..........2007-09-15

I have used this product since April and have been very satisfied overall. I really like the way it synchs data with my Mac.

The menus take a while to figure out. It's like cell phone software in that it takes a number of clicks to get to exactly what you want.

I live in Hawai'i and I was getting irritated walking around in circles staring at my wrist while the unit tried to locate satellites. Then I read a great tip on-line. Just turn the unit on and put it down; go back inside and put on your shoes. When you come back out, it's ready to go.

5 out of 5 stars Gorman Forerunner 205.......2007-09-14

Enjoying using - I have not used to it's full potential yet - good data and accurate.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent satellite signal reception.......2007-09-14

Purchased the 205 for marathon training. Based on a friend's experience with the 301 model, I was concerned about satellite tracking capability on my usual courses - which have dense overhanging trees. After 4 weeks of daily use, the 205 has never lost track on the routes where the 301 would consistently drop for distances in excess of 1 mile or more.
A brighter screen and color would be nice. But overall, I'm very satisfied. Don't know how I would train without it.

5 out of 5 stars I am free at last!!!!.......2007-09-13

I LOVE this gps. I have himmed and hawed over making this purchase and I cannot live without it! I am training for the Chicago Marathon and with kids in sports and an injured running partner, I was forced to do long runs alone and at odd times. I can run where I want and it is very accurate. It has a ton of bells and whistles so to speak, and I can just go for my runs. You will not be disapointed!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A glorified pedometer?.......2007-09-24

After reading a few articles that state that this kit can be used with both Nike and non-Nike shoes (using a pouch that clips onto the laces), I tried it with my Mizunos. I calibrated it on a treadmill, and it seemed to be pretty accurate there compared to the treadmill odometer. So far so good.

However, when I went out to run on the street where my pace and stride vary quite a bit, it was less accurate. The problem seems to be that when I speed up, my stride lengthens but the Pod doesn't account for that. So it shows me going slower when I'm actually going faster.

I spoke to a guy at a Nike trailer at a race who indicated that the accelerometer in the sensor doesn't work properly in the little pouch on top, but would give much more accurate results if it were in the sole of a Nike shoe. My trail shoes will need replacing soon. If I can find a Nike shoe with a wide enough toe box, I may give them a try and write with more results at a later time.

4 out of 5 stars Good training tool, but don't expect perfection.......2007-09-17

The sport kit didn't work right out of the box for me. In all fairness, I used the marware attachment for my shoes, and didn't get the nike shoes. It took one frustrating night, doing 9 miles on the treadmill, to finally calibrate this sucker. The distance function works great, I don't have a GPS watch so it's the best measure of distance i'm going to get. The speed one definitely doesn't work well. The current speed reading that you get when you click the center button on the iPod is all over the place, one second it's a 7 minute mile and the next it's an 8.30 mile. I use the distance and time run measures to figure out my average speed instead.

5 out of 5 stars Great motivation for even a non-runner.......2007-09-14

I haven't ran in 15 years and recently started again. This has been a huge motivator, I love going on the Nike + website and see my progress, join the challenges, and what an incentive to hear how many calories you've burned! The product has been flawless, my i-pod recognized it right away. Love it, love, love it!

5 out of 5 stars Very Accurate Readings-- A Great Motivational Tool.......2007-09-10

I used to have another pedometer that i paid about $20 for, and the thing was crap. It would get stuck 1/ way through my run and when id check it afterwars it would say that I ran for 5 minutes and .2 miles. It was really annoying.

So even though i red reviews about how this thing wasnt too accurate i decided to try it myself. Im glad i did! I calibrated the thing on a very nice high school track and when it cae time to test its acuracy, it was spot on. I set it do track my stats for a 2 mile run and the second that i stepped over the starting line at the end of my second lap, i heard this through my ipod: ".5 miles completed."! I was completely amazed; it doest get any more accurate than that.

i have some saucony running shoes and i put that little jelly bean pedometer in the shoe-wallet that i bought and have never had a problem with accuracy with that system.

not only does the thing work great, but it has been very motivating being able to track my accomplishments. just make sure you find some good headphones that dont slip out of your ears. i have yet to find the perfect ones.

4 out of 5 stars INACCURATE, BUT STILL FUN AND MOTIVATING.......2007-09-06

The farther you run with it, the less accurate it becomes even after calibrating. The accuracy may have a lot to do with your body type and I am not the average build of a runner by any means (I am short and stalky). The good things about this is that it tells you your running less milage than you actually are which only helps you in the long run if you think about it. Also, the website is spectacular. Challeneges, Stats, its all on one convient site for you to review.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Use both!.......2007-09-15

So I had put this on my wishlist for my birthday and was happy to get it. It does indeed extend the range of the remotes. But our couch is 12' away from the TV (big TV) and was pushing the limit of even this sensor. But wait, it's not a sensor, is it? It's just a pair of LED emitters like the original. So I *stacked* them. They actually stack quite nicely, with the wired Nintendo emitter on bottom (so that the activation button on the Nyko is still on top). The result was amazing - what was jittery at 12' is now rock stable at 20'.

I like the timer function, and the on indicator. Not fond of the silver logo on front. But the product works great. If you have a Wii and a big screen, you want this product. Try it on it's own or stacked!

5 out of 5 stars much more convenient.......2007-09-13

This is one of the best add ons you can get for the wii. getting rid of that thin grey wire is the best thing you can do. mine was always getting tangled and knotted. sensitivity and everything works perfectly, just like the original.

5 out of 5 stars Great if you have a Beamer or >40'' TV.......2007-09-10

This one has around 30% more power than the original sensor bar, so you can definately sit around 5-10 feet beyond the position you have to mind having the original sensor bar without jerks.

5 of 5 stars because it works perfect

5 out of 5 stars Wii Wireless Sensor Bar.......2007-09-09

The Wii Wireless Sensor Bar works great. Same as the wired one except we don't have to worry about the cat chewing on the wires, which is why we bought the wireless one.

5 out of 5 stars great aftermarket product for the WII.......2007-09-04

The original sensor bar cable is very fragile and lost a battle to the vacumn cleaner. This replacement is great, and ours no longer beeps as some of complained. Its easy to turn off and on and allows you to put the sensor bar right where you want it and near the screen/TV, and to put the Wii safely behind you since it reads the Wiimote, and not the sensor bar.
