This antenna is very "directional." Despite the way it is advertised, it needs to be pointed toward the Western sky with no obstructions (its ok through a glass window). Pointing it any other way gives you intermittent, or no reception.

what is not like here? XM FM a.m. CD and if you come prepared you can have an iPod link (just make sure before the installer gets your radio that you have on hand the "Iplug Car Adapter" or something like that that can attach the RCA adapter in the back to a headphone jack). If you don't have the iPod link in advance then the adapter will be lost behind the installation in the dashboard.

everything worked instantly. I was able to sign up for XM within minutes of getting the radio installed. If you look online you can find some XM-promotional codes and save money right off the bat.

The radio is hard to navigate all by itself without a little bit of a learning curve, don't lose the manual! No one else is going to be able to figure out your radio unless there is a little bit of schooling.

There is a removable faceplate but good luck to somebody who steals this because they'll have to go buy XM in order to get full use, whereupon their identity would be revealed as thief because they would have signed up with the same serial number.

While the interface can be confusing to navigate at times the complete integration of XM, CD and AM/FM radio into one unit for under $100 is a great deal. If I were to have a need to purchase another head unit I am certain it would be another one of these. It would be nice if it was capable of playing mp3 disks but overall I have been pleased with this purchase.

Do yourself a favor!!.......2007-06-24

I have just finished installing this product into my 2002 Elantra. The install went smoothly (about 1-2 hours with basic tools) and the results are simply astounding. I have yet to set up the XM option, although it is physically installed, so I cannot comment on that yet, but the receiver and CD drive work flawlessly: the AM section pulls in the sports stations that I have missed all these years with the substandard factory rig, and the sound is terrific and powerful. I cannot imagine another package like this anywhere for the price. You owe it to yourself to check this one out...

Does a good job but does have a problem.......2006-08-06

I got mine on sale for about half-price so I have no complaints about the cost. It works very well and, for me at least, will even works indoors. The battery will work around four hours while listening to satellite broadcasts. I've not tried it just on FM. It's certainly not very heavy as some have claimed, at least in my opinion.

The number one problem so far has been removing the Roady receiver after use. The fit is so tight that sometimes it takes all my strength to open the tray. However, I have discovered a solution to that. Get a very thin piece of metal, preferably very strong, such as a fingernail file. In the upper left-hand corner of the audio system the corner is curved. Very gently insert the piece of metal in this corner and very gently pry the radio to the right. You won't have to pry it very far either. So far I haven't damaged the receiver, so be sure and use a gentle touch. I've written Delphi and complained about this problem. They are aware of it, but haven't been able to figure a solution. They say the tight fit is required so the system will work properly.

Sign up for the newsletter and special offers online through XM! I also only paid $20, including the shipping! No way would I pay $100-$150, (and I've seen even higher on eBay....with bids!). It's a bit bulky to carry around, but not bad for an easy conversion. Much better reception than I accepted, not like I can complain for $20! My husband has XM built into his truck radio and it will definitly be the way I go in the future because I am not always pleased with the sound quality with the FM reception through my car radio, but now with this system I think I will use my Roady2 a lot more. I also think the case is built pretty good, maybe for over a hundred bucks it feels cheap, but for $20 it feels pretty good. I feel bad for those that paid the higher price, but it's nice to see a company actually do something for it's current customers and not just the new ones.

Ya, waiting to buy this thing was definetly worth it. Delphi sent me an email with a link to their web site where you could get one for $19.95. At that price, there is nothing to complain about. The only downfall is that you have to use the provided headphones on the unit, and they are kinda bulky, or just not suitable for exercising in. Oh ya, to sweeten the deal, they also paid shipping and handling. UPS ground got mine here in 2 business days. Thanks Delphi:)

Great little adapter.......2006-01-26

Well, after problems getting the item from a 3rd party Amazon Partner, it is finally in my hands. So far, I have had none of the problems I have read here. Case doesn't feel cheap to me, has been very easy to remove from the adapter so I can put it back in the car. The overall weight feels a little heavier than I expected, but it fits in the back pocket of my jeans with no problems so it is not really noticed. The only thing I would like to see is some kind of belt clip or carry case so it can be easily used while jogging or walking...etc. Other than that, I now own all the kits for the Roady 2, and I believe this will get the most use.

well the little toy helped me to continue recieving Sat. signal and worked well for its purpose. I had the 1st generation somewhat Sirius Antenna system where it had 2 wires. now updated to a single wire. so also i had to change the Roof mounted antenna to single wire as to the reason for this splitter unit.

The review above states you can split the signal of the sat and hook up multiple radios. This is incorrect as I just learned. TERK says you can not split the sat signal. This is made for the TERK SIR 3 Antenna's and the old style Dual input receivers. It will not match up with the SIR-EXT50 cables either.

Can be Used as Antenna Splitter.......2005-11-30

This item can also be used to split the Sirius signal off of one antenna into two recivers in your home. You'll need two 50 feet extension wires from TERK SIR-EXT50 one for each of the splitter ends. Just plug the antenna wire into the single side, then out of both the others comes a split signal. The signal is not lowered in quality. For those of us who have 2 Sirius receivers in the house, this saves on having two antennas.

I know the directions on the container say it's for the older receivers. However it DOES work! This splitter is set for the same frequency of Sirius, and WILL work. Trust me. The "higherups" would rather you purchase an antenna for each receiver, but you don't have to. Don't say it won't work until you actually try it. I have had mine one TERK SIR-6 antenna split into one Sportster Replay 2 (previously a PNP2) and a PNP3 for for over a year now. If it cannot be done, why have I been splitting my sirius signal with no problems?

Great Antenna For Big Rigs & RVs.......2007-03-31

I bought this antenna for use on my Kenworth T600 truck. The smaller antenna that comes with the car accessories kept falling off the truck even if I used velcro and tape. The smaller antenna also does not have a long enough cable to reach some of the higher locations on a big rig truck.

The Terk XM Antenna works well because it comes with two different types of mounting options. (1) You can use the mirror mount to attach it to any round tubular type mirror arm. My Kenworth does not have the tubular mirror arms, but the application still works by using a longer nut/bolt combination available from your local hardware store. (2) Your second option is to use the pressure mount hardware to attach the antenna to any other edge on the truck or RV. It is perfect for mounting the antenna to the top back area of the air dam or to the side back fairings if you don't have an air dam.

My only small complaint and reason for 4 stars instead of 5...

...There doesn't seem to be enough cable (even with the longer one that comes with this model over the normal ones) if you plan to attach it to the back of your truck, such as up on the air dam. You almost need to mount it in this location to get it away from your CB antennas. I first tried mounting it on the mirror arms, but I found many drop-outs on any eastward heading routes since the XM antenna was not high enough on the truck. Supposedly the CB antennas can interfere with the XM antenna if they are mounted too close, which leaves the top of the truck (on the air dam) as the highest location away from the CB antennas. If you are willing to drill a hole in the sleeper or cab then there is plenty of cable to run it inside your truck, hide it behind interior walls, and have it run up and out of your dash area to the XM radio. But without drilling a hole, you have to run it down the back of the sleeper, under the cab and up through any rubber pass-through you can find. By that point you've wasted most or all of the cable length, which limits where you can position the radio.

All in all, great antenna with better overall reception than the run-of-mill XM antennas.

I believe this antenna houses all the electronics required to provide XM radio to the Kenwood DNX7100. Due to the large size of this antenna (~4" in diameter) I had to leave it inside the vehicle next to the windshield which is hampering the signal. For the most part I get a clear and clean signal, but once I drive through some trees, the signal goes away. I believe this is due the low voltage the antenna uses since it's provided through a mini USB connector. If the size was smaller and the receiver antenna was more powerful, I would give this item 5 stars

I cannot believe I have to spend and additional $200+ for an antenna after just spending over $700 for a GPS. It's highway robbery!!!!!

I was so impressed with my Garmin Zumo 550. It came with several mounts (including one for my motorcycle) three charging units (including one for my motorcycle) and a nice protective carrying case. In addition, there are several small features that prove Garmin put some thought into this unit, like a magnet under the mount that keeps the weather cap from flapping around when not in use. It almost made paying $700 for it somehow... acceptable. Especially when you consider it's a GPS, MP3 Player and an XM Radio all in one.

Unfortunately, that excitement was overcome by disgust as soon as I found out the antenna that allows the XM radio to work is over $200. I knew I had to get an antenna and I knew I needed a subscription, but I had no idea the antenna would be almost 1/3 the cost of the GPS. I feel as though I'm being taken advantage of as a consumer.

I just bought a Pioneer Inno for my wife (portable XM radio). I spent less than $200 and it came with an antenna, car kit, and docking stations.

Shame on you Garmin. You're screwing your own customers.

Ordered this device via Amazon. Paid for new device - got a used one. USB extension connector showed oxidation.

XM support barely speaks english

This is probably great for automotive applicatios but not for motorcycles. The GXM has a nice magnetic pad that easily sticks to a gas tank.

The NavTraffic has stale or bogus information. I saw two accidents on the way home. I decided to test it out. Split lanes (legal in Cali) to get to the bad spots - no accident - no stop-n-go traffic.

I tested again and noticed it was wrong a second time. Nav Traffic reports stale data.

At $130 a year for the subscription (you *must* get radio+Nav), they have little excuse to provide such poor performance.

Also, the minimal radio package includes Fox News and the O'Reilly factor. No problem but there's no counterpoint to either of those stations. That's a really blatant bias.

I cancelled my subscription ... got refunded minus the activation ... and sent this unit back to Amazon as I paid for new but got used.

Purchased this product in conjunction with a Samsung Nexus 50. It allows me to take the small tuner module to record on the Nexus or to work on this dock with my XM-ready Yamaha home theater receiver. Turns out I didn't even need to mount the antenna in a window or outside facing South. It works with a decent signal level located inside a cabinet on the south wall of my house, picking up sufficient signal levels through the cabinet and the outside wall of my house!!! I just used the tuner display of signal strength and moved it around till I found a good signal, avoiding the need to buy an extention cable, drilling a hole through the wall and mounting it outside.

For this review, bottom line, it is a reasonable cost and does what it supposed to do ... it works. Works perfectly with my Yamaha XM Ready receiver. Techno gadgets are cool - tuning in XM stations on my receiver rates up there in "cool category". It is fun. ;-)
