Great Sound with Extras.......2002-10-03

The Philips AZ922517 CD player offers a lot for the money. The player provides super clear and crisp sound. And, unlike many other CD players I checked out, this one comes with a power cord and even a set of batteries! The headphones are light weight, cushy, and the head band doesn't squeeze. But it's all in the sound -- really impressive. One slight caveat -- the player seems to be made of light weight plastic so I'm hoping not to drop it or bang it too soon.

New ESP function works great. Virtually no skipping. Headphones provide excellent sound reproduction versus standard issue phones of other players. I have had no problems with connection to player. Comes with remote unit for added convenince when jogging, etc.. Have observed no loss in volume with use of remote with headphones versus no remote. Comes with rechargable batteries which provide approximately 10HR of listening time after first two full charges (allow batteries to completely discharge prior to recharging, and never store uncharged). Durable well constructed case. Faithfully reproduces music as recorded. No distortion of sound noticed at full volume on head phones or good quality portable speakers. For those without an in car CD player sound quality with cassette adapter excellent. Overall I have been very happy with this product and highly recommend it.

Great Sounding and Great Looking CD Player!.......2002-09-10

I purcgased this CD player because my old one burned out and I have to say that the Phillips is of a much better quality than my previous player. For one thing, and the most important thing, the sound is fantastic! I have never actually heard any of the tinniness that other reviewers have complained of. Only a large full sound that expresses all of the ranges very well. Another great feature of this CD player is the bass boost. With even the first level of boost you feel like you are in a large symphony hall, right next to the stage. ( There is also a second level for even more bass...) The CD player also comes with its own headphones, rechargeable battery, and AC adapter. The headphones are very stylish and comfortable(although they may be too large to use in public) and give a very nice sound to the music. The battery can be easily charged while leaaving the unit plugged in with the adapter for a few hours (I leave it on overnight) this charge can last for about 7 hours but does decrease with use. The player itself has a metal cover and a pretty blue/purple LCD screen. It is also compact enough to fit in mostly anywhere. Overall, I just have to say that this is a great CD player and a great buy at its cheap price. Definitely recommended!!!

For the Cassical Music Listener.......2002-09-09

As a classical-music listener, high fidelity is the most important attribute of a CD player. I am happy to state that both the player and the accompanying earphones are performing admirably. Furthermore, I dropped the player twice from a four-foot hight onto the ceramic rug-covered bathroom floor, without any resulting damage.

As for the accompanying remote,while I have no need for it, I imagine that it would be very welcome to a jogger; it does seem to function properly.

This a very good portable CD player. I previously owned the Philips AZ911117 model, which I loved, but it is, unfortunately, no longer with me. I dropped the AZ911117 on it's head and now it's dead :o(. It really was a bad spill...

That particular CD player (Philips AZ911117) was so freakin' tough, it really surprised me. I must have dropped it (in the year and a half that I owned it) at least a dozen times. Also, it skipped maybe about 6 times during that 1 1/2 years I had it. That to me is a good sign of a quality portable CD player.

After the incident, I did some serious searching for another portable CD player that was comparable to the Philips AZ911117. I had learned that this particular line of Philips CD players are being phased out for newer lines, namely the eXpanium series. So I bought the newest eXpanium model hoping that it would be like the AZ911117. It was not. The PHILIPS eXpanium EXP201 Portable MP3-CD Player skipped constantly (any kind of movement, including walking, made it skip), had long delays when searching and switching tracks, drained brand new batteries within hours of use, speeded up the sound of the music, had poorly designed placement of buttons and battery comparpartment, and so on... Fyi--I tried the same CD that I had these problems with in 2 other players and it was fine. The EXP201 was awful and not worth the hassle. After some thought, I decided to search the internet to find my "old-school" Philips AZ911117 that I had no problems with for my next purchase. I found and purchased this model, the Philips AZ922517, on ... site and I have yet to be disappointed.

This player is great. My only gripe is that the earphones are huge (excellent sound quality though). The power saving feature really does work and you even get rechargeable batteries with it! Bonuses: it's the same size as the AZ911117 and I really like the metal cover.

I have had the CT1810 for over a year. I paid $670 for it then. I was curious as to how much they are going for these days by searching the web... I was impressed to see that Amazon's price was so competetive.

Solid, respectable monitor. Excellent value.......2003-04-23

Short of a professional review, which I was unable to find for the Cornea, it is very difficult to judge the quality of a monitor with respect to others. In this case, however, I already had a 17" LCD Envision, which for a while I had hooked up to another computer, side by side with the Cornea. The Envision, which I think is excellent, had been reviewed by CNET as an "8." I rate the Cornea as visibly below the Envision standard in terms of the vibrancy and intensity of color and marginally below it in the sharpness of text. But the Cornea is more than satisfactory and I am very pleased with the purchase. Just compare prices for other 18" monitors and it is clearly an excellent value (in addition, you might check the manufacturer's site to see if there is a current rebate - the information is not always on Amazon). I should mention, however, that I do not use the Cornea for games or videos, so I can not comment on how it handles refresh rate, etc. Best of luck with your purchase.

the title pretty much say it all. this is a poor monitor for any purpose, especial if you are into digital photo, graphic design. my product's screen cracked for no reason after 3 months. i swtiched to NEC and have been very glad with NEC.

Great monitor.......2003-03-05

I bought this monitor on a gold box special and have used it for about a month now. I'm very impressed with it. Set up was a snap. I upgraded from a 15 inch LCD screen to this one, and boy the increased size does make a big difference. I haven't had any problems, and haven't detected any dead pixels, etc. I have external speakers so I don't use the speakers built into the monitor. I tried them, but as you could expect the sound wasn't great. It was passable, but if you have external speakers, you'll want to continue using them. I can't speak about all the detailed specifications for the monitor, but I can speak to the fact that it looks great to me, and that's all that matters! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this monitor to anyone.

WOW! I'm probably not the best person to review this product, because except for laptop use, I've always had a CRT monitor. With that in mind, let me say that the color, clarity, contrast, and brightness of this monitor are magnificent! I did not
connect the audio, so I can't speak to that, nor did I watch any movies. However, I had none of the problems described for the CT1810B (black) model....
The approach used to set display parameters is comprehensive and
very user friendly, although the factory-set values were fine for my eyes. Installation was a snap; I could not be happier with this purchase!

I recently purchased a 128MB EDGE CompactFlash card for my Canon A75, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the card is actually lightning-fast! I have a Canon A75, which came with a 32MB "High Speed" CF card, this EDGE card blows the doors off the Canon OEM card! I tested the two in the frame-advance mode (takes one picture after another as fast as it can until you let go of the button), and the EDGE was noticeably faster!
