I ordered this from another vendor and the packaging says Lexar, but the xD card itself is Olympus brand. Works great in my Olympus C-50! If you can get the Lexar brand cheaper than the big names, do it.

Starting out?.......2005-06-23

A couple months ago I acquired my first digital camera, a 4 MP Fuji A340, which for the money does quite a bit. As someone who enjoys dabbling in photography, I instantly knew I'd need to buy a larger memory card. So, I got this particular card from Walgreen's (where I work in the photo lab). For my purposes, this card was both economically practical and gave me surprisingly stunning quality. I always keep my A340 set at 4 MPF (the 'f' being for fine grain), and yet I still manage to get about 70 images on the card. I know I'm going to grow out of this camera and card combination soon enough, as I'm most likely going to get an 8 MP camera after a couple of years. Still, for now, a 128 card is suitable for my needs and the needs of the average consumer that is starting out in the digital photography world.

Another good thing about this card is its consistencies in reading. As I stated before, I work at Walgreen's in the photo lab. What I have found is that 128 MB cards read 100% of the time on digital print kiosks such as the Fuji Aladdin (the digital kiosk favored by Walgreen's and Wal-Mart). As of my typing this review, I have seen a couple problems with 256 and higher XD cards. The most probable reason for this is the cards with more memory tended to be somehow incompatible with the customers' cameras (all two cases I've personally handled). So, at least for now, 128 MB cards have shown fewer compatibility issues, which means it'll be easier to make prints at retail stores with digital kiosks.

Overall, the Lexar 128 MB XD card is a practical, economical card for the average Joe Schmo photographer who's getting started in the digital photography world. Soon, it'll make for a good backup card when the Fuji and Olympus cameras reach higher megapixel levels (such as the 8 MP I mentioned earlier). It's an excellent deal for an excellent media card.

Excellent interface & remote; Good picture, but not perfect.......2002-12-29

For a price well under $100, the Hitachi DVP325U comes with a very sensible, easy-to-use remote and a decent picture. It's remote control and user-interface are simple and intuitive. For instance, to change the audio track (e.g., from English to English w/ commentary), you simply repeatedly press the "audio" button; other brands require you to first press an "audio" button and then press up and down or left and right to scroll through the various tracks (e.g., Samsung). The DVP325U also contains quite a few features, including zoom, simulated surround-sound, a programmable remote (to control your TV's volume, etc.), and a jog-dial and control buttons on the face of the unit. All of the features are well-executed; for instance, with the zoom function an onscreen display approximates which portion of the whole image is being enlarged. Finally, the DVP325U has both optical and coaxial audio outputs for those playing the sound through a nice stereo system. Despite an excellent interface and a lot of options that aren't usually available on cheaper DVD players, the DVP325U's picture is slightly less than perfect. In movies, smooth gradiants tend to show some banding of color and "stair-stepped" edges and boundaries. Generally this is only noticeable if you look very closely, but it makes an otherwise fantastic budget DVD player just short of perfect. Overall though, the user-interface and the features were so well designed, that I opted to keep this DVD player over a similarly-priced Samsung player which had a top-notch picture, but difficult controls. Lastly, the Hitachi DVP323U (threee-twenty-THREE), which you might also come across, is identical to the DVP325U, except that it lacks an optical output and 3 buttons ("subtitle," "audio," and "surround") on the face of the unit.

Ok, But very old.......2001-05-21

My 3 /win2k systems do not see or work with this unit. My NT4.0 sp6 does see it and works fine. Dlinks tech support had me add Netwre Client and NWLink Protocols to my Win2k systems, would still not work, they then told me to update the printservers firmware to 1,38, but this is not available on their site anywhere. This thing was made in 1997 ! and has not been updated to work with newer OS's. If you only have NT 4 systems go ahead and get it. But if you have any NEW systems (OS) then pass it by.

I purchased this CD player at a local store. I needed a portable device and this one was recommended by the store employee. I was only able to use the CD player sucessfully once, then it stopped working. I was trying to play a CD I purchased, not one that was CD-R. I would not recommend this CD player.

Forget those CD-R's.......2002-03-04

This player works OK, except with CD-R's, which was one of the reasons I wanted it to begin with. My CD-R's play fine on my old player, but not this cute portable one. I was very disappointed.

Consider another product........2002-03-03

I received this as a gift, so I'm glad I didn't have to shell for this. I am in agreement with the others who say that this product has defects. In my case, it is the radio. I listen to the radio more than I play cassettes or CDs, but it takes a ton of jiggling the settings slider before it will come on and stay on. And forget turning the radio off...then I must start the ritual again. It is very frustrating. The cassette player works well, and the cd player is adequate--not great--but adequate.

Cute but fuzzy.......2001-12-19

This cd player is compact, cute and handy. However, especially when listening with headphones at low volumes there is a very annoying background buzz. It goes away at higher volumes. But- for the visually inclined, it looks great on my desk!

I got this CD boombox because it looked awsome! But, in this case, looks do NOT count! I got this ONE year after I ordered it...and the sound is all crackly and uneven. The plastic (yes, PLASTIC) cover to the CD broke within half a week, and the speakers got scratched up and full of dust, though I tried cleaning it (WITHIN TWO WEEKS!) So, I suggest you TRY to look at other boomboxes before you buy this one, okay? (...) In my opinion, just stay on the safe side...
