Delkin Devices XD TO COMPACT FLASH ADAPTER.......2007-07-04
Delkin Devices XD TO COMPACT FLASH ADAPTER ( DDXDFLS-AD )
Priced good in comparison to some of its $100.00 counterparts. Inserting the XD card into the flash adapter is easy, however this activity should be done with care (joining the cards quickly can break the adapter). The adapter allows for easy access for any flashcard reader device.
XD to CF Adapter.......2007-05-22
If you have a photo printer -- in my case a Canao Sephy DS810 -- and only have a digitial camera(s) that have XD cards then this adapter is for you! It will give you option of printing photos directly from the card as well as from your computer. Very handy and works like a charm.
Adapter modifications necessary.......2007-05-10
This adapter has to be modified to work. It is fine electrically, but it "Will Not Fit" physically in either of my two compact flash readers.
The problem is the Height of the adapter is larger than a normal XD Card.
For one reader I had to remove the top label on the adapter. On my other reader I had to Grind Down the front of the adapter at an angle. (on the top above the contacts of the adapter) **Now it's fine**
-----Hope this helps others----- Sincerely, Ralph
Mac Users Stay Away.......2007-05-04
This is the second Delkin adapter that I have purchased that does not work with OSX as advertised. (The PCMCIA Cardbus CF Adapter does not work either.) This XD Card Adapter works fine for Windows XP or Linux but, when used in either a Lexar or Sandisk CF reader with a Mac, it will corrupt your card. I was able to download the images from my XD card but, after I ejected (unmounted) the media and put it back into my camera or another computer the card was not recognized and had to be reformatted. Maybe it is me but, this is not my idea of compatibility ... having to reformat my media each time I download pictures.
Works... for a while... poor materials.......2007-04-20
We own a Canon ip6700D, and we bought this adapter because our cameras use XD cards.
The main problem with this adapter is that the plastic is very soft, and the 50 pins which enter the tiny holes will tear into the plastic if they don't enter perfectly into it. After a couple of uses, the pins will scrape plastic into the holes of the adapter. Clogging them with plastic.
I'm not sure if any other XD-CF adapters are better, but we are currently making use of the 2-year warranty on this adapter to get a refund.

Terrific Little Speaker with Clear, Strong Sound.......2007-09-07
After reading several dozen consumer reviews describing laptop speakers I puchased this one. You simply plug it into your laptop, or USB hub, swivel the gooseneck to position the speaker where you want, and you've got an excellent speaker that fits in a small laptop utility bag.
The only complaint I have is that there is no quick volume control; once you've plugged it into your USB port, it overrides the laptop's volume control "knob". You have to open the volume icon in your Control Panel every time you want to adjust the speaker volume, which can be too slow when you're being blasted by a loud video.
This is not to say that there is anything wrong with the volume modulation in the speaker itself, just that there seems to be a wide volume range across items I view--YouTube, email messages with videos from friends, etc.
If this speaker had a volume control knob it would be perfect!
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DELL LAPTOPS.......2007-09-02
After several weeks of light, mid-volume use, the speaker stopped working on my Dell Latitude D500 and I began receiving error messages noting a "device malfunction". After trading emails with J-Lab customer service, I was instructed to return the speaker by mail (at my expense) for a refund. The refund I received was 80% of the original purchase price because, according to J-Lab, the device was still "working" upon receipt. The representative handling the return acknowledged that there has, in fact, been a history of compatibility issues with Dell laptops-- in other words, a "working" speaker may not always operate correctly when connected to a Dell laptop. Is trying this speaker on your Dell worth the risk of paying two sets of shipping charges, losing 20% of the purchase price, and spending time emailing representatives and repacking/mailing the device? If not, maybe it's worth considering alternatives.
Are we listening to the same speakers?.......2007-08-08
We bought this speaker for our Gateway M505 Media Laptop on a recent trip. The M505 has reasonable speakers for a laptop, but their volume level isn't quite strong enough for us to be happy--we'd always find ourselves straining to hear dialogue from movies.
From reading the reviews I honestly thought this would solve our problem in a nifty self-contained USB-powered fashion.
For us it didn't.
We found the speakers to be nearly identical to the M505 speakers, and while the B-Flex did give us the tiniest improvement in volume, it wasn't enough to really give us adequate volume, or the "big sound" many reviewers have mentioned. Also, there is no way a speaker the size of these can give the kind of frequency response any level of audiophile would be happy with.
So, who should try out this speaker? If you have standard tinny sounding laptop speakers (the almost nonexistent kind), these will be a big improvement. Also you will like the fact that it is USB powered so no batteries, no cords are needed.
However, having said that, I really think the bottom line is, to get truly better sound, you need to use a powered speaker. I think some of the JBL's may be the way to go.
For cost of these guys, unless you catch them on sale, my advice is to keep looking. We had to return ours. (Thanks to Amazon a really fair & generous return policy).
Definite improvement over stock, and extremely portable.......2007-07-08
My boyfriend bought me this speaker. It is plug-and-play. On my computer, often movies are not loud enough for some reason and with this speaker it's as loud as we could possibly want. Also I can blast my music throughout the house from my laptop - before I could not because it sounded horrible at high volumes.
I'm not much of a sound expert, but I think it sounds pretty good.
Flexible, Mobile & Fierceful .......2007-05-13
Love this laptop speakers!! My laptop speakers suck so much that this little guy just gives me the wonderful sound my laptop deserves!! I highly recommend it!!

Average sound.......2007-03-22
Unless your laptop's soundcard is not working, or your speakers are barely hearable I wouldn't recommend this. Odds are your laptop does as much as these speakers.
It is well built, looks resistant and it does a decent job. Do not expect very good quality.
Like it so much bought it for a friend........2007-03-08
I like the sound of mine so much I bought one fo my friend for his birthday. It's not super loud but you can listen to music from your mac, with good quality. Just plug it into your USB port. My friend loves his too. He uses his all the time. Great for travel.
Works perfectly........2007-01-30
Speakers quit working on my laptop and needed something decent and easy - and this is better than that. Good quality considering size and price.
Lots of power in a small package.......2007-01-19
I really thought the reviews for this item were probably a little over-blown, but the speakers have proven me wrong. As someone who primarily uses their laptop on the go, I have been looking for a set of small, easily transportable, decent sounding speakers. These fit into all three categories. I am pleasantly surprised by the fullness of the sound that they put out. If you're strictly an audiophile, you'd be better off investing in a good set of Bose headphones, but if you need something to quickly and efficeintly plug and play so other people can hear what is on your laptop, then you won't find a better buy for your money.
Cool!.......2007-01-13
It was a gift to my daughter and she was thrilled! We were all amazed at
the "out of the box" design and think that the folks at JLab need to expand and create a whole lot of new "out of the box" stuff to make life
easier and more efficient! And, the speaker sounds GREAT!

Customer Reviews:
Simple and easy.......2001-11-30
I put my Sandisk 128 MB CF card into the adapter and pushed it into the laptop PCMCIA slot. I had a hard drive! Nothing else to do!
Compared to a 100MB Zip drive, this is a great way to transfer data from notebook to notebook. However, the CF cards are expensive. So don't use this for permanent storage. Buy a CD writer for that.
I am a software consultant. I go to a client-site, draw stuff on the whiteboard and when I'm done, I take a picture of the board with my digital camera. Then take the CF card out, put it in the adapter and stick the adapter in a notebook and the image is ready to transfer.
No software to install and no hassel.
That's what I like.
Good but not for CF type II.......2001-10-30
The product installed and worked flawlessly on XP. Little did I know but it does not support or fit CF Type II cards like the IBM Microdrive that I bought it for. OOooooops!!! This means that I'm going to have to buy another to support my Microdrive. But it works great for my 128 and 32Mb CF Type I cards so I'm keeping it anyhow. Be sure you are using a Type I CF card and it'll work like a charm, even on XP. The beautiful thing is that I didn't need to install any drivers or anything else to get it to work, it just works.
AMAZING DEAL!!.......2001-09-14
it's so cheap and works effectively.. what else can you ask for?

With the SmartMedia adapter, you can insert a SmartMedia card (also called a solid state floppy disk card, or SSFDC) into a PCMCIA Type II card slot (also called a Type II ATA slot). Now you can take pictures with your digital camera and transfer the exposed SmartMedia film directly to your notebook computer, without extra cables.

PC Card Adapter by Delkin.......2001-11-26
I purchased a smartmedia card adapter for use with my laptop about 3 months ago. The adapter functioned well for the first couple of months, however, without warning the adapter failed. My computer does not even know that the card has been inserted. Needless to say that I was very disappointed at the short life span of the adapter. I would strongly recommend a different brand adapter if you need one for your smartmedia card.
The PCMCIA Smart Media Adapter is an EXCELENT Time Saver.......2001-04-28
If you own a digital camera The PCMCIA Smart Media Adapter is one of the best investments you can make. This little device will save you hours of time when you go to down load your photos. By the time you find your conector cable and get it hooked up you can have a 32 MB Smart Media Card full of photos down loaded to your computer and be back out on the beach or ball feild taking more photos. This compact device not only saves time, it will also save you money on battery purchases. No more extended periods of time that you camera has to be on while your pics are slowly flowing though the cable. The only regret I have is that I purchased my PCMCIA adapter directly from the manufacturer's website and I paid over $100.00 more for the same type product. (Feels like I got Ripped Off) From now on I will always get my digital needs from AMAZON.COM
Works well!.......2000-01-24
I use this with my PowerBook G3 (bronze) and it works great. Saves lots of time downloading pictures. Easy to use. When inserted, it acts just like a hard drive, or an inserted floppy disk.
Every Smart Media Owner should have one of these..........1999-12-14
This little device so so easy to use! I simply plugged it into my laptop running Windows 98 and was transferring photos from my Olympus 450Z in less than a minute.
Great product.......1999-11-01
I bought this card to use with my Powerbook G3 (Bronze) and it is great. There are no drivers to be installed -- just put it in and it works. When inserted into the adapter, the SmartMedia card shows up on the desktop as a PC hard drive. The pictures can be manipulated like any other file, and can easily be put in the trash to delete them (instead of using the camera software -- I have an Olympus C-2000).

While we generally like the iMac as a family-oriented or multimedia system, this low-end model comes with a minimal 64 MB of memory. That's one of the reasons it ships with Mac OS 9 rather than the newer and more impressive Mac OS X, for which Apple recommends a minimum of 128 MB. Other system components are adequate and include a 500 MHz PowerPC G3 processor, 20 GB hard drive, and a CD-RW drive. As with all iMacs, a modem and Ethernet networking are standard, and the system case is an integrated design that houses a 15-inch monitor. While the iMac product line includes some solid choices for home use, this particular model wouldn't be our first choice.
Product Description
iMac is, quite simply, an outrageously attractive, surprisingly affordable, and extraordinarily easy-to-set-up-and-use system. It comes fully loaded, but brings along none of the hassle you might associate with the word "computer". Get ready for the excitement of swift, simple Internet access - your passport to a world of information. And playing so richly detailed game, you actually feel like you are in another world. Consider the fact that iMac delivers significantly more power than you would expect from a computer at such a great price.Whether you are a first-time computer user or a highly experienced one, iMac, with its powerful, state-of-the-art features and simplicity of setup and operation, is the ideal choice. It will let you do the things you want to do with a computer, and many things you may only have dreamt about.
Customer Reviews:
great computer - but.......2007-09-10
These Imacs are great, but they tend to overheat - and then crash or die on you. as for the way they function with 512 or 1 gig of memory and a minimum of 400Mhz - 500 or 600 is better the G3 will do everything you need. just run it a while and make sure it is not overheating - Apple did not put a fan in the units, you can put one under it, but does not seem to help - both of mine died in the same week, so I am thinking of buying a used one to use the hard drive and memory....the best thing about this machine is upgrading to OSX and using all the neat programs - very nice, but then that means you are paying top dollar for UNIX which is low cost or freeware, and Unix - Xenix - etc...just a thought..
Macintosh Counterface.......2004-07-05
The Apple Macintosh G3 has revolutionized the way people interact with computers. The design that saved Apple, this machine features so much packed into a tiny microsystem. It is completely plug and play - Any device plugged in will automatically be detected without the use of drivers. Connecting to the internet and to networks is a snap, and professional applications are simulated only on the macintosh. Apple is rock solid UNIX, which delivers a powerful performance for any UNIX guru. Great software is included which is easy to operate. 'The new iLife is like Microsoft Office for the rest of your life'. Whether your just beginning with computers or are a professional, the Macintosh line of products is right for you.
Great Little Computer!.......2004-06-05
This is my third iMac (moved up from a G3 400mhz) and it is simply wonderful.
It does everything I ask it to and didn't even brake the bank. Mine cam equiped with a 500MHz G3, 40GB HDD, 256mb pc100 sdram, 16mb ATI Rage 128 Ultra AGP 2x, and a Combo Drive (normally this model comes with a CDRW).
I burn all my cd's, watch tons of DVDs, run Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS 10.3.x perfectly fine and play some older games (I'm not a fan of most new games, but love the older ones like Quake 1,2,3, Unreal and AvP!).
Mac OS X runs great, which I was very surprised about. I also run Adobe Photoshop 7 and Office X on this machine and it does it all very well.
Perfectly happy with this machine and I'm sure that when I go to upgrade again I will keep this one around for odd jobs.
BAD Computer.......2004-01-14
My friend showed me this computer, and I never really saw why heliked it so much. It crashed if you ran 2 or more programs and it has hardly any software. It may have virtual PC, but that crashes every time you do something useful. You may think I shouldn't be reviewing this, but I spent enough time on it to know it's a terrible computer. It has some upsides (like you don't need to type .com and the starting time is somewhat reasonable), but not enough to distract you from how terrible it is. If the monitor breaks, your whole computer is dead. Trust me, if you want a good operating system, you should get Windows 2000 Professional. It's the best operating system I've used, and Mac OS 9 is the worst.
Take a bite..........2003-11-14
I have explored many types of computers. I ran my Parliamentary office off a Commodore 128 (the good version) and was the envy of all of my typewriter-bound colleagues; I had an Apricot (raise your hand if you've even heard of that!); I've had several IBM clones as well as the IBM XT (which stands for Xtra Terrible now) up to my Pentium III; but my love has always burned strongest for my Macs. Progressing from a Mac Plus to an SE to a IIsi to a G3, Macs have always been the way to go for so many things, especially when recommending to others on the basis of ease of use and learning.
So, when the Indiana Literacy Foundation needed to upgrade their out-of-date Macs, we ordered iMacs. These are fast machines (we got the 500MHz variety) that are easy to learn and easy to set up. They connected with no problem to our Ethernet network which ran the printers and the internet connection. The office runs primarily on MS Office and a 4D shared database; the iMacs performed marvelously in these tasks, too.
The biggest drawback would have to be the lack of ports (they really do need to have at least one more UBS port); and there needs to be a disk drive -- hard to transport data to off-network (or, when the network is down, no-network) computers; but perhaps the most user-conscious problem lies with the mouse and keyboard. The mouse is round, it slips to easily under the hand; the keyboard is small (feels cramped to use) and doesn't tilt up enough.
However, these iMacs have served the Foundation well for a few years, and everyone was aglow with happiness (having been released from bondage to PowerMac 6100 slow pokes).
Ah yes, we got the blueberry kind (because they were on sale).
