I bought this off Woot for about $30 a year ago. It works well for music and jogging since I don't care if it ever breaks. Not so great for long mp3 files or books in mp3 format since it never remembers the place you stopped it. It is difficult to fast forward too.

Nice player for the price........2006-04-18

I purchased my player of woot.com for $45. That price included shipping. It's a nice player overall. I seen a previous review that says you can't use over a 512 meg SD card. But I have been using a 1 gig SD card with no problems. It just takes it longer to load when you turn it on. The batter life is incredible also. I used the device for like 3 days straight on one battery. The sound quality is incredible also. Mine came with a an radio transmitter you plug into your car light outlet and the quality off sound on you radio is awesome. No hums or static nothing. Good deal for the money/

Great product & inexpensive!.......2006-04-15

I don't have a cellphone, a PDA or use a digital camera, so getting up & running was a bit of a challenge, but if you're used to any of the above, shouldn't be a problem. Once I got over my fears of entering the digital age I was OK. You have to download the manual from the web.

This player DOES support a 1 gig SD card, so get one, they're cheap. Also, price shop for this unit; I got mine for $50 from J&R. The earplugs are pretty useless, but you can plug in any other ones you've got around.

Great little player!.......2006-04-06

I bought one of these needing one for working out, and now everyone in the house has to have one!
Two teens in the house fighting over mine just isn't going to get it. They've already worked out that they just have to put in their memory cards, and they can ignore the music I have loaded on it.
I like the ease of loading it, just drag music from the pc to the folders that come up when you plug in the usb cable, and it's set. The type is small on it the display, but I figured that with as small as the player is.
The earphones that came with it could be better ( too big for my ears), but switching with ones I already had was an easy fix.
Clear sound is great, even of the recording that it does.
Love that it has an f.m. tuner as well.

I just bought my first MP3 player, the RCA Lyra RD2312. This one has an FM tuner, takes an SD card, records and plays WMA and some other sound formats

I spent most of the first day reading the manual and trying to figure out the quirky user interface. There is a lot of text on the little screen. Once you get used to it, the extensive functions are pretty intuitive to navigate.

I think this is a good quality item. The music sound is excellent. The radio reception is really good too. The volume goes a lot higher than I will ever listen to it. The battery life is incredible. The Battery-Low indicator is on but the same single alkaline AAA battery is still going strong after playing for almost three days solid. The clip-on ear buds sound fine but I think I will try to replace them with something more comfortable.

Being able to add in SD cards means you can take along as much music as you want. It's a small consolation that this model only supports up to 512MB cards. A plastic insert comes in the card slot. There is nothing but friction holding in the card. The card hangs downward when you wear the player on the neck strap and I'm a bit worried that the card could shake out but it hasn't happened yet.

Altogether, I am very happy with my choice and I would certainly recommend it to anyone else. The user interface and the card position are not major weaknesses. For this price, it's hard to find an MP3 player with all the features, sound quality and battery life this one has. For the most part, I think this is a top-notch item.

The external hard drive works great! I got it for xmas of 2005 and havent had a problem with it at all.

I am using it on my Intel Core Mac Mini. It gives me the exta space to store my large files and music.

The drive crashes whenever the computer goes to sleep. Fantom says the only way to recover is to restart the computer. Fantom, instead of fixing things, suggests people turn sleep mode off. Please consider buying from a reliable company.

After 2 years, still perfection.......2004-12-06

I'm amazed that people buy OEM monitors with their Dell/Gateway computers when something like this is available. CRYSTAL clear and sweet to use all day. This monitor is amazing. We've used it (heavily) for 2 years without a hiccup! Auto-adjust works 100% of the time. Yes, it's $400+ but if this is something you'll be using a lot, it's worth every dime of the $100 premium over lesser monitors.

I am not a geek at all. I just love this monitor. It was easy to set up and is bright and easy to read. I would recommend it to persons like myself who just needed to replace their old CRT's and wanted a monitor that took up less space and was easy to see and read. The only problem I have is that I bought this monitor in December of 03 and it came with a $50.00 rebate that I sent to Envision on Dec 18, 2003. I have yet to get my 50 bucks. It is now March 11,2004. If there is a any kind of rebate promised from this company, don't expect it any time soon.

Beware of the auto-adjust problem.......2004-01-20

This monitor is ok, not a 5 star puchase like most people here said, they haven't seen a Samsung or Viewsonic yet and most of them had been looking at their tiny 15-17 inch CRTs and that's why they were so excited and gave this one 5 stars.

Mine came with a dead pixel, a bright green pixel in the middle of the screen, Amazon is sending me a replacement. The most annoying thing about this LCD is that every time you play video game or cold boot it automatically readjusts itself ignoring your settings and you will have to go and manually activate your display profile again using the video card's display control panel. I will probably have to look for another monitor because I can't deal with this annoyance and definitely don;t want to manual change the settings each time I play games

My suggestion is that if your budget permits you should go look at a Samsung or Viewsonic before buying this one and if your video card has DVI connection, buy a DVI LCD

Don't buy if you're a gamer.......2004-01-16

The monitor looked great with static pages and images, right out of the box. But, as I'm a serious gamer as well, I soon realized that I would have to make a return. Games simply do not perform well on this monitor at all. With high-speed games, especially, there was a lot of ghosting of images and just poor all-around quality. If you're not a gamer, the monitor is great for the price. But if gaming is a big part of your PC experience, look elsewhere. Personally, went back to the big old CRT and, despite the substantial size increase, I'm glad I did.

Oh, and as soon as I saw that annoying dead pixel (apparently a common problem here), I also knew I had to make a return. I had no idea that LCD users were expected to live with dead pixels. That seems a bit ridiculous. So, until LCD technology comes up a bit to accomodate perfectionistic gamers like myself, I couldn't recommend this monitor.

excellent monitor.......2004-01-14

I received this monitor for Christmas and could not have asked for more. I went from a wimpy 14" CRT to this baby, and the differences are unbelievable. The screen is huge, and the colors and brightness are dazzling. The only tip I have is that you MUST use the recommended resolution, otherwise you will run into some problems, like blurry text. Because the screen and resolution are so large, text and things look real small. You might want to tone down the brightness and contrast, and increase text magnification if you're on the Internet or working with documents. It will take some time to get used to, especially if you have been using CRT or a smaller monitor. But by the time you get used to it, it is smooth sailing. Pictures are bright and crisp, and the text is perfect. I had no dead pixels at all. The design of the monitor itself is clean and modern-looking. I am a happy customer.
