nice keyboard, the plastic is a little cheap. Had to rma the main key set the enter key was defective. their tech support was nice and quick.
The gaming key sets rock. If your a gamer of even a mild set, get one of these for some frag time.

The Perfect Compromise.......2007-08-16

Pros-
Standard keyboard is great; relatively quiet, responsive keys, excellent, easily customizable shortcuts.
Gaming keyset is great; excellent key positioning, built in mods for multiple games.
Multiple hotkeys independent of keyset (media controls, volume, search, settings, ect.)
On board USB ports (works perfectly for a mouse that has a wireless USB dongle)

Cons-
Keysets can be a little tricky/slow to switch.
Keys can get stuck sometimes (simple fix, but you have to take off the board and re-do a few times)
You'll probably still need to manually adjust in-game key-mapping with several games even with the gaming board before it feels right to you.

Overall-
A superb choice for the average-to-serious gamer, especially since the standard keyset (with the options of turning on/off a multitude of hotkeys and shortcuts) is better than most regular keyboards, and the option to buy specialized keysets for only 20 bucks. Hardcore gamers might require more functionality.

Great Gaming Keyboard.......2007-07-29

I love this keyboard. I put the gaming template on for games like Call of Duty or GTA and I put the WoW keyset on for regular use and to play WoW. It has never failed me or done anything wierd. If I had any complaints about it at all it would be that it can sound noisy at times with the keys clicking and occasionally the letters will wear off a key sooner than it should. Beyond that a solid product that I have immensely enjoyed.

slick but doesn't last.......2007-06-30

My boyfriend and I each bought one of these with the Burning Crusade Keyset a few months ago. At first we were very impressed with it and it functioned beautifully. This lasted aboout three months, then mine began to be scrambled, both with the BC keyset and with the normal keyset. I have tried reseting, reinstalling the drivers, and everythiing else I could think of--nothing worked. The same thing happened to my boyfriend's board two weeks later. Have had no help from the manufacturer.

In short we had two of these die 3 months after purchase. Not good.

...this really will make your Mac friends jealous! This thing is freakin' awesome for gaming - but you don't have to switch out keyboards to do typing. Avoid carpal tunnel by using ergonomic, intuitive keys to move your sprite in any gaming environment. Not just cool to use, cool to look at!

WOW Keyset with Zboard Keyboard.......2007-08-15

Okay, I have to admit I'm a 44yr old mother and I'm hooked on WOW! I was very happy with the purchase, but was disappointed when I received the Zboard a good week before the WOW board! It was hard to live knowing that part of my toy was there, but I couldn't use it until the rest of it arrived.

Nice keyset.......2007-07-29

I use this as my primary keyset. Partly because I am too lazy to switch it out, but also because it functions very well as a normal keyboard. Im typing on it right now as a matter of fact. It adds a lot of hotkey functionality to WoW and once you get used to it you will wonder how you played WoW without it. My only complaint (hence 4 stars) is that the lettering wore off a few of the keys. The odd thing was that the keys that wore off weren't even keys that I used the most. Other than that though its a worthwhile keyboard.

I find the keyset quite helpfull. It takes awhile to get used too. Once you do it does help us novice gamers. It is worth a look.

Does the keyset make a big difference in play?.......2007-05-19

I purchased the keyset only to make the mistake that I thought the Z-Board came with the keyset. Two very different items, please make sure if purchasing seperately that you purchase the keyboard first. That being said, the keyset is easy to use and does help gameplay to some extent. I've become addicted to World of Warcraft much to my wife's chagrin, but she understands my need to escape mundania. What I've noticed from using the ketset exculsively is that while it does help to have pre-set keys you don't have to absolutely need this to improve your gameplay. It's a nice thing to have but not a nessecity like I thought. Some folks might be better off staying with the traditional keyboard.

I have messed around with Zboards before. They're a stupid idea that really doesn't have any application in the PC industry. If you don't know how to map keys where you want them and maximize your control over the game using a standard qwerty keyboard then you might want to reconsider your foray into PC gaming. This board has no more functionality than a normal QWERTY keyboard, and if you know how to type, it actually creates an alien keying experience as you relearn where the keys are in reference to your rested hand position.

Don't spend the money here. Buy a decent, mid priced keyboard instead. It will last you years and you won't have to worry about dumping money worthlessly into new keyboards for each game you play.

This product is a perfect example of corporate band-wagoning in an attempt to exploit customers for every last cent with irrelevant and useless products. Don't let them take advantage of you.

Okay, I don't have this CD player yet, but I really want it. It's got the biggest LCD screen I've ever seen on a CD player, it can read ID3 tags, it looks really cool, it's [reasonably priced], and it plays MP3 CD's. I love the MP3 CD feature because I love music, and all you need is about 8 CD's to have as much storage capacity as one of those 6gb Hard Drive players. I've stored my entire Heavy metal collection on one CD (in 96kbps), and that's about 20 CD's worth.

HUGE BACKLIT DISPLAY, easy on batteries.......2002-04-24

Purchased this for vacation (22 hour drive each way), and have to say this is FANTASTIC, I am happy I didn't buy a differant one!
The documenttaion wasn't very good, and their marketing team needs to go back to school. If this was labeled with a brand name, the reviews would be outstanding and nobody would hesitate to get it, it is much better than the Sony cd player I have. THE PRODUCT IS GREAT!

The display is HUGE, 4 complete full length lines, plus battery status, mode and eq settings all at once!!!!! It supports ID3 tags, and if the title is too long, it will slowly scroll the title.

It has the added feature of a backlit display (press any button and the display lights for 3-5 seconds). The backlight feature was great in the car at night. And with only a few buttons and the joystick, it was extremely easy to use at night in the car!!!!

It lasted about 15 hours on 1 set of batteries!!! (I didn't have to change the CD (filled with mp3's) either!!!

Built in EQ preset functions including the normal, rock, jazz, etc....settings. It has Bass boost and hold functions.

The best thing about this unit is the ease of use! Only 4 buttons and joystick.

The headphones that come with it aren't the best, but those are freebies anyway, take out your favorite set and enjoy this GREAT BUY!

I have to agree, that it is not very rugged, yes it's made out of plastic, but it's no more flimsy than any other portable CD player I've owned. It is great for portable mp3 playback!

It boasts 400 seconds anti skip which is really (real world) 45 seconds (the 400 seconds is at the lowest MP3 bitrate supported, 8k in this case), In my opinion 45 seconds is still enough. In contrast the rio volt sp250 boasts 8 minutes anti skip, same thing though, at the lowest bitrate.. (if you're bouncing around for more than 45 seconds nonstop are you really concerned with music anyway?)

A good friend has a Rio Volt sp250, and we compaired the units. Yes the Rio is built much more ruggedly, but it's triple the price and the Rio's display is almost unusable. The Rio "booted" and read the cd faster (within 15-20 seconds) where as mind took about 30-35 seconds, but that is fine with me, the display and backlight are worth 10 seconds to me...

Good points: Nice layout,4 line text display with id3 tag support,CD\CDRW compatible, multisession, backlight,Bass boost,
wide ranging bitrate support. Bad points: Flimsy construction,skipped frequently when walking,(Claims to have 400 second protection) Overall not a bad purchase considering the price, had it not been for the skipping, I would have rated much higher.I feel that a portable unit "on the go" should have better skip protection.

Just Got Mine.......2002-03-23

I can't give a long term review yet, but I have to say something good about this CD/MP3 player! Especially because the only other review doesn't seem to be about this product.

So far I love what I get for the price! The large LCD display is nice, although the backlighting becomes annoying. I haven't had any problems with recognition of CD's or skipping (but I'm not going to bang the thing around on purpose).

I just got mine and there are a few features not mentioned on the web:

*400 second ESP

It also comes with some cheap headphones, a CD to Home Stereo cable, and 2 alkaline batteries (not rechargeables).

this mp3/audio player is really fun if you are looking for a cool small mp3 that holds about 45 minutes woth of your music then this is great for you but if you are serious go for something else.
