Value for money.......2001-07-04

This camera is reasonably priced and i have definetly gotten my moneys worth since i purchased it a couple of months ago. The resoloution is quite good and the camera functions well in general. For amature photographers this camera is an excellent option. It is not too complicated to use, has plenty of features and good battery life. Somebody looking to take profetional quality photographs may want to look for a more advanced camera. In general this camera is great for the average photographer and i do not regret purchasing it. Of my three digital cameras that i own (two of them being the fuji finepix 4700 and ricoh RDC 7) this one is definetly my favourite.

Better than I originally thought.......2004-09-17

When I ordered this drive no one had reviewed it. It looked like a viable option for my Mac G4 tower. (When I purchased my G4 DVD drives weren't available for towers yet.)

Well, I just set the drive up and I'm disappointed. Not only is the software missing (!!!) but the machine won't power up. I'm not sure if it's the drive that's not working or if it's a faulty power cord, but I am very dsappointed that this product does not work.

I'm going to contact TDK to see what they might do to remedy this situation and will update this review when I get some action.

**I contacted TDK and they very quickly agreed to send out a replacement part (power cord) and asked that I call them if it hadn't arrived within a week. I liked that - they were concerned enough to make sure that the part arrived within a specific and short time frame. Unfortunately I did have to contact a different department (via e-mail) for the software. I did hear back within a few hours that they had shipped the software to me.

**Now that I have the software and the cables, this baby works like a dream! I can use the drive using either OSX (10.3-Panther) or OS 9.2.2. I have not had any problems reading/writing CDs or playing DVDs (haven't tried to burn a DVD yet). Even though it was a hassle to get the software and the new powercord, the drive was worth the money.

Mac Users take note! The software included is sparse for Mac users. You will need to get a DVD controller/player from another source. I recommend getting VLC (free! from MacUpdate.com).

Sucked.......2004-07-18

this piece of poo corrupted my computers files. now i had to reformat the hard drive and i lost all my important files. i am not pleased. i think the iomega super dvd burner at staples is alot better. It has its own backup software and burning software. Anyway i couldnt even turn the f**kin thing on. For all you computer users i suggest u go buy something else instead of being f**ked by target. thanks Timmy

No complaints here - an excellent center channel speaker.......2007-02-21

After being thoroughly impressed by my JBL Northridge E80 floorstanding speakers, I purchased this as my center-channel speaker (and added a pair of E10s as rears for surround). Before purchasing I went to a couple of audio stores to check the difference between the EC35 and the much cheaper (and slightly smaller) EC25. The EC35 is significantly better in both voice quality and clarity. The EC25 is a very good center, but until you try it side-by-side with the EC35, you don't know what you are missing.

It looks like JBL has discontinued the Northridge line and replaced it with the Venue series. Unfortunately there isn't a 3-way center channel speaker in this new series... just an updated version of the EC25.

Pleasantly surprised..........2003-07-22

First of all let me state that this is by far the best price for a 17" LCD out there. Therefore some (including myself in the beginning) might think that there is a trade off in the quality. Well think again! This elegant silver framed and light monitor is an unbelievable find. Skeptically I looked at a few other LCDs and realized that the quality of this "slim" monitor surpasses many others, especially Dell (which are too blurry), it is without a doubt on the same level as View Sonic (hard to believe). Let me assure you that you will be very satisfied with the exceptional quality; I watched DVDs and VCDs with a satisfied grin on my face. The configurations allow you to adjust to your preferences of an exceptional display of colors, refresh rates and brightness and no dead pixels! I've also noticed that after working with DVS it's pretty hard going back to CRTs (you instantly notice the flickering). Too bad that these boys are no longer in stock, this was by far the best find and a purchase I have made. Did I mention that everyone who saw it fell in love with my silver "Bebe"?

Not that great.......2003-04-07

This monitor showed up in my "Gold Box" so I took a chance on it. I wound up returning it because the picture quality was just not that great. It wasn't very clear, particularly on photographs and other images that require a lot of pixels. I tried to find a better driver to improve it but like other reviewers couldn't find a web site. So I decided to send it back and find another brand that was better. So I guess I'd say if you don't need a lot of detail in a monitor this might be an economical choice but otherwise you should probably look elswhere.

I did my homework before I bought my monitor. The SAM 17 had the best spec's in my price range. It beat most of the more popular brands at a terrific price. I e-mailed the manufacturer with questions both before and after I purchased it. Their response time was great and they were very helpful. I would recommend this monitor to anyone. I am very happy with my choice.

Surprising Quality.......2003-01-31

I expected to get a mediocre monitor for this price, but as I type this, I have a crisp, bright display that looks beautiful. The stand folds up for low-profile transportation. In addition, it's noticably lighter than my previous flatscreen.

I was certainly wary of buying a monitor sight unseen from a manufacturer that I hadn't heard of (and, by the way, how does "I've never heard of this manufacturer" qualify as a review?), but DVS has delivered. I'm considering buying a second one for another computer that I use.

The best bang for the buck period!.......2002-12-27

I own this monitor. The view is fantastic and it is very easy to use....Just plug and play. Though there is not much info about the manufacturer the quality is definitly built in and I am very happy with the product so far! This is affordable quality technology.
