Product Description
Digimax 800K is designed for beginners to take photos with easiness. This camera possesses high technical specifications with simple functions and compact size. It has fixed focus lens, which can take photos as close as 22cm and you can change the macro mode by simply changing lever in front. Also, to reduce the battery consumption, it disregards LCD display. Without LCD, the operating time will be expanded. The camera can operate with just two alkaline batteries (AA type) thus effectively reducing the total weight. As it adapts RS 232C for PC interface, it can easily connect to any PC. With Twain driver, you can edit your the pictures in Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft PictureIT. This camera adapts Removable SmartMedia card as external storage and by using Card reader drive or Floppy Disk Adapter, the SmartMedia will make a PC connection without Serial Cable.
Amazon.com Product Description
The Samsung Digimax 800 digital camera is a model designed for digital-imaging beginners who want to take pictures without having to focus or deal with complicated controls. Weighing less than 7 ounces and measuring just 3.33 by 3.12 by 1.25 inches, the Samsung Digimax 800k is very compact and light. This camera produces pictures with a maximum resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels and uses SmartMedia card memory for picture storage. With the provided 2 MB card, you can snap about 15 pictures before you have to download your pictures or replace your SmartMedia card.
The Samsung Digimax 800 does not offer an LCD display--a feature that is standard with many digital cameras. However, this camera does not go through batteries as quickly as most digital cameras. The Digimax 800 connects to PCs with an RS-2232-C serial connection.

Not Bad for the Money.......2003-07-01
Batteries seem to be everyones biggest problem. I bough some NiMh rechargeable batteries that will last for at least 80 pictures on a single charge. When I upload pictures on the computer I use an adapter since it does use a lot of battery power. It takes great outdoor photos. Indoor photos don't work out too well. It doesn't have an LCD screen, but if in doubt, you can just take another since it doesn't cost anything anyway. If you're going to use it mostly for viewing on a computer and for sending by Email it is great. For printing photos it's not high enough resolution.
Be realistic.......2002-09-30
Bought my camera 2 years ago and I'm quite impressed with the results, considering the low investment.
My advise for you is `be realistic'. This camera produces excellent pictures for internet and presentations, but should not be your choice if you want to print pictures.
A pair of good-quality alkaline batteries will deliver c 100 non-flash shots.
A 8 mb card (+ the 2 mb one that comes with the camera) will allow you to shot c 90 - 100 pictures. Buy a USB card reader to download pictures to your PC; don't use the serial cable as it exhausts batteries. Once downloaded, I prefer not to view my pictures in the full screen mode; the pictures look better when smaller in the screen.
The in-built flash will deliver mediocre results and drain your batteries; this camera works much better with good lightening. But be careful with over exposed objects.
The photo editing software is more than sufficient for domestic work i.e. adjusting colour and brightness. Don't waste your money buying another (over-functioned) software unless you want to give a `professional' touch in your pictures.
This camera does not have zoom lens nor LCD screen to help you to preview your shots, but this is not a problem at all.
Don't get disappointed if your first pictures are not as good as you expected. Give you time to learn how Digimax works and you'll be amazed with the results that 0.8 megapixels can deliver.
Samsung Digimax 800k.......2002-05-20
I bought this camera because it was the cheapest in the local store. I wanted it only to take photos for uploading ...for use on my web page. At first I wasn't impressed, the image quality wasn't very good and the camera went through Duracell batteries at an incredible speed making it very expensive to run.
Now I have got used to it, I actually quite like it! I can usually judge if the light is OK and a good image will result.
Good points: Cheap, small and easy to use. Capable of reasonable images if light is right.
Bad points: You cannot see the images until you have loaded them into the computer so you don't know if your pictures are any good. But then that's what I am used to with film cameras anyway. Battery life is a real problem (see below).
Tips: Buy a smart media card reader for your computer and don't use the serial transfer. This will vastly prolong battery life. Buy some rechargeable NiMh AA cells and a charger. They will repay their cost in no time at all.
I want to get a bigger smart media card (the 2mb one that comes with the camera only holds 15 images). The information I have seen is contradictory on the subject. Some of it says 16mB is the maximum and some says there is no limit (assuming 128mB max). I guess I'll buy a big card and try it unless someone can confirm that it won't work?
Why all the negativity??.......2002-05-17
I dont understand why so many people are bagging this camera. I have had mine for a couple of months now and honestly, I couldnt be happier. I knew I wasnt buying a professional digital camera with all the bells and whistles of a more [costly] one but for what I paid for it, it has not disappointed me. Sure it has its downsides to it. The amount of batteries it goes through is a bit disappointing but I have found if I buy the really [less costly] ones they only last for maybe about 7-8 photos. I buy the slightly more [costly] ones which last a lot longer. For downloading, I use rechargable batteries as they give it the life it needs to download all 14-15 pics without a hassel. It is by no means a 'serious' digital camera for professionals, but for a beginner like me its fantastic. For me it gives great photos in all conditions provided you follow some basic photographic principles. My wife used it the other day to photograph a friends house being built and she came back with some fantastic shots (my wife and cameras generally do not like each other). With a bit of practice and image manipulation after downloading (the software that comes with it has all those features) the photos turn out really well.
The bottom line is this: if you want a camera that takes sharp, crisp professional looking photos, then buy one that has everything and spend a lot of money. But, if you want to try out the world of digital photography, then this camera is an ideal beginners camera. Practice using the camera in all types of light, either invest in a imaging program like adobe photoshop or download some fantastic free imaging programs from the internet for free. If you do your homework, then there is no reason why this camera wont give you great looking photos, unless off course you dont have the patients to practice in which case youd be better off with a point and shoot instamatic camera.
for beginners?.......2002-04-22
After reading the review of this camera I decdied to go and buy one. Afterall they are [onexpensive] and apparently reliable. I also bout 32 expensive batteries thinking they would last me a while. They lasted less than 3 days. Now, it would be logical to assume that I took a huge amount of pictures but you would be wrong.
The total number of pictures I took was just under 100. 16 times the batteries were changed as the camera kept flashing "battery low" and turning itself off on me right in the middle of a shot.
Batteries aside, let me mention the quality of the pictures. Oh my god do not move and make sure you have the lighting perfect. The slightest shake and your picture is ruined and if the lighting is wrong you can just imagine. Also, there is actually 2 settings for the camera. One I assume is for close up and one is for further away. I read and re-read the manual and although it says to change the setting back after using the macro setting, what "beginner" knows what a macro picture is? The manual fails to explain what the actual difference is between the 2 settings. It just states that if you don't turn the setting back your pictures will be blurry. Problem is that they are blurry a lot anyway.
This camera, once your batteries have been replaced and you have found the perfect light, providing you have the camera setting on the right one the picture quality can be quite good. A few turned out like mirror images- bear in mind I say a few kindly.
I personally, as well as my friends and family, agree that this camera is [inexpensive] at first but after you buy the adaptor or the constant supply of batteries you need, it does work out quite expensive. I would estimate that you can expect to get one good picture to every 4 taken, and one great one to every 12+.
I guess this is a case of you get what you pay for!

Drive Died in Less Than a Year.......2007-06-29
With moderate use, this drive died in less than a year. The speed is fair. Personally I will not buy Fantom drive again.
Not a problem in a year or so.......2007-02-07
I have had this unit for probably a year, problem free. The flashing blue light is sometimes a distraction, but I'd buy it again, given the opportunity.
Don't buy this drive.......2007-01-05
If there were a 0 start rating I would give it to the is product. I had two older versions of the same and had absolutely no problems. I bought the new one and the manufacture changed the drive. It is smaller, runs hotter, and crashes more often than windows. Don't buy this drive.
Don't buy!!!.......2006-10-23
The drive crashes whenever the computer goes to sleep. Fantom says the only way to recover is to restart the computer. Fantom, instead of fixing things, suggests people turn sleep mode off. Please consider buying from a reliable company.
No problems.......2006-09-16
I've had this drive for a little under a year, and have not discovered a single problem with it. Another review said it is not the fastest, which is true, as is the comment that if you want the fastest, you should be looking at firewire, not USB drives.

Amazon.com Product Description
Jensen's stylish, imminently affordable Champion Series 2-way, bookshelf C220 speakers can flesh out your home theater with surround sound, fill your dorm or apartment with music, or provide gentle background ambience in your bedroom or business. Use one pair for stereo or surround applications or pick up two pairs (4 speakers) for use as the front and surround elements in a multichannel listening system. Movies will sound more lifelike and enveloping with timbrally matched speakers all around, and plenty of newer music formats--from the DTS surround CD to DVD-Audio and SACD--offer music from your favorite artists mixed expressly for surround-sound listening.
Mate them with a powered subwoofer to fill in the lowest frequencies, and you'll be ready for the anything. (Alternately, you could use these as surround speakers with larger, floorstanding speakers for the front left/right channels.)
Standing just 14 inches tall, the C220 speakers each use a 30 mm soft-dome tweeter for sweet high frequencies and a 6.5-inch cone woofer for filling out the bass frequencies. They're not the most efficient speakers on the planet, but they'll do fine with as little as 15 watts per channel while handling amplifiers as powerful as 75 watts per channel. Durable binding-post speaker terminals offer strong connections with your speaker cable for high-efficiency signal transfer from cable to speaker.
Place the speakers so that the tweeters are on a level plane with your ears. If you install the speakers in a wall enclosure, take care to ensure that the front panels of the speakers are flush with the front of the wall. Jensen also recommends positioning the speakers at least 3 feet away from the television to keep the speaker magnets from interfering with the set's picture, at least 1 foot from any side wall, and a minimum of 8 inches from the rear wall. This prevents exaggerated or "booming" bass and helps the speakers produce more balanced, detailed sound.
What's in the Box
Two speakers, 2 speaker grilles, and a user's manual.
Customer Reviews:
Good studio monitors.......2006-03-03
I bought these speakers for a 5.1 setup in my recording studio where I do sound and music for indie films. I amplify them with a yamaha surround reciever and I am very pleased with their natural reproduction of sound and their power handling. At $50 a pair you can't beat their price to performance ratio. Jensen speakers allready have a good reputation. With this series of speakers they could definitely compete with speakers well above their price range.
disappointing.......2005-09-02
As you might guess from the low price, these are made in China.
I had a chance to try them out on a hi end tube amplifier;
and the sound was exceedingly faint and shallow. These are not quality speakers by any stretch of the imagination; and I do not recommend them unless you have an amp with lots of power, and a tin ear. The return of them netted me less than a 50% refund.
Great little speakers.......2005-04-02
I just got these today and they sound great. Tons of bass come out of them (have to put my bass down to -3). Comes with gold posting for your speaker wire too. In back of speakers even has a bass port. Great price from amazon and super fast shipping. Can't wait for the c990 speakers to come (said they were in stock, but nothing yet). Got the jensen center (which also sounds very nice and you can't beat the price)to go along with all five for surround sound. Buy these you won't go wrong!!!
Awesome sound (for 50 bucks that is).......2004-10-30
Believe it or not these speakers sound better than ones costing double, even triple their $50 price tag. I didn't have a lot of money to replace the bedroom pair that finally found the dumpster, so I took a chance on these very inexpensive yet amazingly good speakers. They even look good! You will be pleased with the frequency response that captures the highs and lows in most types of music. And you can blast them without any distortion. Great tight bass! I am shocked that such a cheap speaker can sound so darn great.

Customer Reviews:
Wonderful desktop replacement -- I love this computer.......2007-06-01
I have been extremely happy with my Fujitsu Lifebook N-6010 for over a year now. I used to have a desktop computer, but I sold that when I bought this notebook and have never been sorry. The clarity and size of the screen are what sold me on it, as well as the price, since it was substantially less than its counterparts from HP or Sony, and it has lots of wonderful features. I have really enjoyed the video in/out and the speed of the processor and graphics card make this computer still (even today) able to handle most high-end graphics games with ease. I multitask a lot, doing desktop publishing, Photoshop, Illustrator, and more at one time, and with 1 GB of memory, it never balks. I will say that the battery life is not long, and it is quite heavy. I actually added grip tape to the lid and underside to ensure that I don't lose my hold on it when using only one hand. But for me, it's been a great choice, since we travel a lot in our RV and I'm not usually that far from a plug. If you need to take it with you on a plane or away from power for long periods, invest in a long-life battery. But those are my only complaints. I do love this laptop and I would definitely buy another one.
WARNING: Do not buy a Fujitsu Lifebook.......2006-01-20
There are too many things wrong with my N6010 to list here, but their biggest problem seems to the hard drives are always going out. Mine is currently out and I have been waiting for a week for the new one that was supposed to have been overnighted 6 days ago. All told, my 6010 has been down now for almost two months, first for the screen, and now the hard drive. I paid 1700.00, it is still under warranty, and it has been down for 2 months.
My wife's co-worker has one, hers has been in the shop for warranty work 3 times, twice for hard drive failure. She and I both despise the 6010.
And when it works, it is slow. My 2 year-old $600.00 Compaq Presario loads bigger files, faster, than this supposedly top-of-the-line Fujitsu. The Compaq is a superior machine in every way, even with a smaller, traditional LCD disaplay.

Customer Reviews:
Good SPECS - POOR BUILD QUALITY AND SERVICE.......2004-12-22
Having heard and read about DaLite in various places, I thought I would give them a try for my home theater set-up.
Ordered the screen and when I installed it carefully as per specifications (using professional gear including levels), I was sorely disappointed to see that the fabric did not hang properly and had ripples across the viewing surface.
Contacting DaLite service is not easy (despite their warranty) as they insist on your contacting the retailer and the retailer generally not understanding the problem or being sufficiently responsive. Anyway, finally they sent me a replacement screen.
I thought I would forgive and forget their initial defective shipment (after all, we all make mistakes). So, with positive thoughts, I opened and installed the second screen with again a lot of care and time.
Guess what - the problem was not only there, it was WORSE this time. This tells me that this company has a poorly controlled manufacturing process and their quality review is minimal to non-existent. It seems that being in a near monopoly situation does lead to complacency and shoddy standards. I would thus sadly recommend to all to look elsewhere for a quality product - and not waste significant amounts of time with installation and customer service over a poorly manufactured product.
Regards all.
