I struggled with an HP all-in-one (g-85) for a few years. It had buggy software, the usb didn't work, the light for scanning stayed on for hours after use, and I had to restart the whole computer every time I wanted to use the printer in order to get the computer to recognize that the printer was even connected. Now I've purchased this Lexmark x9350 in spite of the mediocre reviews-- and I LOVE it. I have it networked to my wired desktop and my wireless laptop. The software works well; the wireless was a breeze to set up with my laptop; it makes better scans, copies, and prints than the HP did. The fax software is not very intuitive, but at least it is not buggy. I would definitely recommend this machine.

It was a good printer...the first month. .......2007-06-06

This printer worked fine the first month I had it, then came the first problem. After replacing the ink it said the tape was still on the ink cartriage so I checked and there wasn't, I put it back in and it went from saying the tape was still on then to saying there was no ink cartriage. We've also had this problem with another Lexmark so I wasn't so surprised. Called Lexmark customer service and they said we must have a bad cartriage and they would send a new one (which still isn't here after about 2 weeks). The new problem is a little more interesting after the problem with the ink cartriage and installing a new one that actually works it started printing the opposite of the color it should (for example red comes out green) after telling it to clean the cartriage (it prints out a full page of stripes of colors and black, wastes alot of ink) it went back to normal till I left it over the weekend and the same thing started happening again. I cleaned it again, wasting more ink, and it was almost ok but then after a few hours of not being used the same thing started happening again.

The last thing is probably something I can fix, but I've yet to find out how. When scanning to a PDF file the file size is huge, I tried changing it, but changes must need to be made somewhere else because it didn't help.

I did think this printer was great up until it started having problems.

I bought this printer to replace an HP printer for speed and functionality. That was a big mistake. I cannot scan a document into a .jpg file without going through additional software. That takes a lot of time when you do it 10 times a day. The printer will not print in color on some of my Excel spreadsheets. The HP printer worked well on those spreadsheets. It will not print multiple copies of a document. It will not print a document in reverse order. This is a problem if you are printing a document with many pages. The controlling software that comes with the printer says that it has all of these features but the features don't work.

Then we get into the technical support issue. I have spent hours on the phone and online chat with technical support. The first thing I noticed about technical support is that they DO NOT pay attention to what you are saying. If you tell them you have a problem, they continue their own way regardless of what you say. It is very obvious that the technical support persons are speaking English as a second language. Some, that I have spoken to, do not handle English very well, either speaking or comprehending. It is understandable that they immediately assume that you know nothing about how to operate the printer or the software but a person that is working with other persons will listen to the conversation and modify his/her approach accordingly. They do not listen or modify.

keeps jamming.......2007-03-10

I have had this printer for about 45 days. I would like to keep it but I am going to attempt to return it today because I can't deal with the constant paper jamming. I have tried different stock paper but have not had success. Removing the jammed paper is laborious. On the positive side, it does connect niceley to a home network and you can use it to print from either a wired or wireless computer. Photo printing is ok.

it doesn't work well with answering machine, and the manual receive function doesn't work with depressing the "9" (default), otherwise

This Lexmark black ink cartridge does a nice job making clear, clear prints. It's a good quality cartridge. The big problem is it runs out of ink way too soon. I barely go through a little over a ream of paper and already had to replace it. I guess that is how they get money out of your pocket as you don't have much of a choice in cartridges if you own a Lexmark printer.

Good pix...Bad cartridge!.......2007-06-28

The Samsung SPP-2040 printer produces great pix (good color, saturation, clarity, etc.), but one of the 3 ink cartridges (3 cartridges--120 sheets of 4x6 paper) broke (paper got stuck in printer and had to be "torn" out to remove)...and therefore was unusable. I now have 2 cartridges and 120 sheets of paper, and not enough ink to use all sheets. Not happy!! I LOVE the quality of the finished print, but think I should (somehow?!) get another ink cartridge from either Samsung, as manufacturer, or Amazon, as sales vender. Good luck, huh!

After clicking 1 click order i found out that this cartridge was not shipped from Amazon [ I was going to order both black and color ]. I immediatly e-mailed the shipper to cancel the order [ inside 1 hour], I received a e-mail in return that the item was already scanned and could not be canceled. I kept the ink cartridge and went to Staples and bought the black cart. The same color cart was available at a cheaper price less than Amazon's private vendor. I probably will not use 1 click shopping again.

Great little player.......2007-04-19

I bought a couple of these mp3 players along with a couple fm transmitters for a few friends of mine as gifts. They are simple, easy to use, light weight, and can take a couple falls (Don't feel as bad as if you dropped a Sansa or Ipod), They offer good sound quality but the FM reciever may not be powerfull enought to pick up all the radio staions in your range, but I'm sure you're not buying this to listen to the radio. It does have an SD expansion slot so you can have more music than an Ipod shuffle, pay less money and still get the screen. What more can you ask for?

I shopped long and hard for this, a bit put off by the negative comments by some customers, but encouraged by one who gave photos of the parts he fixed himself. I've been using this daily for a month, and I love it (still). I plug in a 2 GB SD card to expand the music options. This works great if you'll be listening for a long time, but it can be tedious to find your place again if you stop. "Pause" lasts only a short time before powering down, then you have to "go fish" to find where in the card you were. On the other hand, the 512 MB onboard memory holds its last power-down position for you - a needed feature for listening to mp3 downloads of radio shows or recorded books, but real nice for music also - this just requires more frequent upload maintenance on your part, so you don't get sick of the tunes stored there. I was pleasantly surprised by the recording quality through the inboard mic. I have a good portable recorder, and this was supposed to be the "el cheapo" for listening only. But this unit recorded live music far better than expected. Battery life with rechargeables is fairly short, but batteries are small and I usually don't need more than one battery per day - I can't wear my headphones all day anyway.
As others have stated the interface takes some patience, but for the price, I'm not complaining. I also like the fact that it is very small and lightweight.

well, it took a long time to figure out how to work it exactly, the directions weren't very specific, but that's not the fault of the people who shipped it. it got here really fast, and was still in the packaging and everything, so that was great. it was just the product that wasnt what i expected.

Difficult to operate.......2006-08-28

I bought this because of the form factor and so that my husband could record something he was studying for. Granted, he is not a puter whiz but he had a hard time getting the record function to work. Usually, I can show him something and it will work fine for him thereafter. He kept coming back asking me whether he was recording or not. Not a good sign. It is pretty cute, but the toggle buttons are very hard to operate, especially for my husband that has larger fingers. Basic tasks like moving thru menus are a little hard to navigate with the tiny toggle. And we often found ourselves entering a function we did not want because of that. The sound is decent and it was easy to setup and transfer files to.
