This winding generates power that recharges the internal 2.4V 700 mAH NiMH battery. Sangean MMR-77 Emergency AM-FM Portable Radio.......2007-07-31
I bought 2 of these in July 2006. We listen to morning and evening news and some talk show programs in the evening. After about 6-8 months, the on/off, turn on/volume knob failed to work correctly. With barely a turn, it's blaringly loud - it's almost impossible to get it at EXACTLY the right spot where it will stay in the range where we can hear it. It ends up being too low or too loud.
Best Emergency Radio Out There Period................2007-07-08
I was looking at several emergency radios from eton, gundig, and sony, and did mucho research. This one blows them all away.
The quality, fit, finish, and performance of this radio is top notch. The reception is excellent. It works off the crank, alkalines, or a/c adapter(not included).
This radio makes the eton/grundig emergency radios look like toys. No regrets at all! Highly recommended, don't waste time with other emergency radios. I did not need a cellphone charger.
Everyready makes an emergency battery pack for about 20.00 bucks no cranking and works great. Buy one of these instead. We lost all cell towers on the last hurricane anyway. Don't bet your life on a cell phone, the towers may be down or overloaded.
I live in Hurricane country Florida and needed a real emergency radio not a toy, this is it. I thought I wanted a NOAA band but AM is the official emergency frequency. I found NOAA to be slow and over-rated.
Love the radio, use it daily, buy it. Nuf' said.
Dynamo Power Disappointing.......2007-06-10
This sounded like such a great idea, and the first time I cranked up the dynamo (for about 6 minutes) the charge lasted for many hours. After the initial charge I haven't been able to run it on dynamo power for more than a couple of minutes before it runs down, no matter how much "cranking". Nice radio, good sound and reception, but I paid the extra money for the recharge capability.

The radio is small enough to carry in a pack. No problem with signal due to the fact that there are several radio stations near. The radio seems to be sturdy enough for some abuse. The crank was very easy to use and it held its battery strength for a lengthy period of time.

This radio is great. I cranked it for two minutes (just to test it) and it played for over 3 hours during our power outage. Great performance. It gets great reception in every room of our house. Definitely an excellent purchase.

I have been using this scanner for approx. 1 year and have had no problems at all with it. I realized when I bought it that it was not the new FB630U scanner, but a refurbished or factory-reconditioned scanner, and anticipated problems, however, the only difficulty I had was hooking it up and that was due to my lack of knowledge, not the scanner. I called the company and they very pleasantly walked me through the installation and I haven't needed anything since. My experience with this scanner has been comparable to it being a new scanner.
There are sometimes "lemons" produced in all things, new or re-furbished but I would not hesitate to recommend this product based on my experience with it. Due to this also I would not hestitate to buy another product that had been factory reconditioned if I were carefully managing my money.
Good interface, OK scans.......2002-01-10
I have had this scanner for about 2 years and have never had a problem with it. The drivers are a little hard to find on cannons web site if you are running xp. it has a one button interface that you press when you want to scan something and it will ask you what program you use for the picture. that is a nice feature. The "scangear" drivers and software are pretty good and let you do some simple things when you preview the scan like brightness, contrast, cropping, before you do a final scan.
If you want to print your pictures at high quality than i would resommend getting a higher quality scanner, but this is a great deal and qorks great for small images and posting your photos up on the web!
hard to beat for the price..........2001-11-20
Picked this up for (...) - and except for lacking the Z-lid of the newer Canon scanners, it works like a charm. Only uses a single USB connector and smooth as silk when used inside of Photoshop. I've actually left his scanner in my briefcase and forgotten it was there. A great compliment to a laptop, and a breeze to operate.
Breaks Down Easily!.......2001-03-24
I bought this last year, and it broke down within 3 months. The pictures scanned pretty well, but I wouldn't recomend this to anyone who doesn't treat their equipment carefully, and if you're too lazy to contact the Warranty people.

The little things kill you.......2006-10-07
The motherboard died in the first week. HP Support did service after hours of hotline diagnosis and sending it to their shop. Most recently the Off-On switch is VERY tempermental. Most of the time the On button toggles on the fans but nothing else. The Geek Squad tried and failed, we replaced the power supply, which helped for a few days, but now can get the machine to cycle on only once every few days (multiple tries per day).

I needed to get my new Apple 23" Cinema up a bit and this was the stand that looked the best. I really like the additional shelves which can be configured 3 different ways. The unit is strong enough for this large LCD unit and looks stylish. Kensington makes a quality product.

Decent stand... Definitely LCD only... Molded plastic but sturdy enough to hold an LCD... Same deal with the speaker stands... The shelf for the monitor is ok sized but not huge... I have a 19" Dell Ultrasharp LCD and the LCD base hangs over the front by about half an inch...
