I just received my Franklin Electronic Bible today. I have already used it for several references. It is so easy to use I haven't even read the instructions yet. Most people now days have cell phones and would turn around to go back home if they forgot it. This is how I expect the FEB should be. Don't leave home without it!!! I am already utilizing it in devotionals for quick reference. What a great item! Lightweight, fits in the palm of your hand more or less and easier on my eyes since I have restricted vision. I wanted one of these years ago when they first became available but the price was out of reach for me. Now it cost about the same as a decent hard copy of the bible however very compact and no flipping of pages. This is one item I am happy to see modern technology produce.

You can carry this compact Bible anywhere. I carried it with me to every place I visited recently in Israel. It is easy to bookmark passages for future reference or for memorization. It includes footnotes at the end of many passages just like a regular Bible in book form. It has a concordance feature that allows you to look up words as they occur in the Old and New Testaments.

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I use it in bible class to search for passages that are familiar, but I can't readily locate. This little devise makes me seem smarter than I really am. The search engine is fast and powerful.

Handy, but small.......2007-06-28

I ordered this to keep in my purse for quick scripture reference. I am prone to knowing a verse verbatim and not being able to locate it quickly! So, this helps.

The keys are small and the LCD screen is narrow - I wouldn't take this anywhere and expect to read a large portion - or even a chapter - of Scripture, but for quick word or verse look-up, it's handy.

A little expensive, but I recommend it.

GREAT FOR SEARCHING THE BIBLE!.......2007-06-12

If you find using a concordance cumbersome, you may find the KJV-450 very useful. By entering unique keywords, you can instantly locate verses which might otherwise elude you. One of my favorite events from the Bible is when God used Elisha the prophet to revive a boy who had died. All I knew about the event was that the young boy sneezed seven times immediately after his soul reentered his body. I typed the words `sneezed' and `seven' and the KJV-450 searched and found II Kings 4:35 which, tells of that event. There God says, "Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes." To read the entire story, simply pick up the context in verse 8. The KJV-450 is indispensable and valuable for these kinds of searches. I am legally blind and the font can be adjusted to three sizes: small, medium, and large. The KJV-450 is packed with features. I would have given it 5 stars if the build quality was better. It looks and feels flimsy. FRANKLIN used to make their handheld products of stainless steel and were very rugged. Therefore, treat this product gingerly. Additionally, a slipcase would have been nice. This product does not come with one. Otherwise I highly recommend the FRANKLIN KJV-450.

***UPDATE*** Despite this KJV-450 being touted as KING JAMES VERSION, I have found some archaic words which have been modernized. For example, in the true KJV, the word `show' is always spelled `shew'. It displays as `show' in the KJV-450. Another example is in II Timothy 3:17. The word 'throughly' which, appears in the original KJV, displays as 'thoroughly' in the KJV-450. I suspect I will find more flaws in its database. Still, all in all a very cool gadget and extremely useful.

***2nd UPDATE*** The KJV-450's memory can be volatile. The device allows for custom settings such as font size, display contrast, and shutoff time in addition to storage of bookmarks of specified verses and personal contacts information. On two separate occasions, my unit has spontaneously reverted to its default settings with a complete loss of custom stored data. The batteries were not removed nor was the reset button pressed. Therefore, do not entrust the KJV-450 with information which cannot be replaced. Despite this glaring and unpredictable defect, I still recommend the KJV-450 as a very portable Holy Bible and extremely effective search tool.

THE BEST ON THE GO BIBLE!!!.......2007-05-25

I've had mine for years and love it.
I highly recommend changing the settings for 4 lines of text not 3.
The word search/concordance is perfect: Buried Baptism = Romans 6:4 and Colossians 2:12.
I also bought the NIV and the word search was horrible.

This is an incredible easy to use invention that furthers the ease of life. It is very portable and easy to understand. I have long awaited the NIV electronic bible from Franklin. I fully recommend this object because it will help you understand the bible. It is so portable that you will find great opportunities to use it when you never thought you had enough time in the day to read it. When you are waiting for a ride home, or on an airplane you can now read something from the bible that is so portable. You dont even realize it is in your purse or briefcase. I just want to say that this has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. First, I started off with a handheld KJV bible that I paid about $50 for. For the amount of time I had it, it was wonderful. However, God put it on my heart to be a blessing to someone else and give it to them.

Then, I recently purchased a Franklin Electronic Collegiate Dictionary due to getting back in school, and brushing up on words since I've been ministering the word of God as of late. When I found out I could the add the bible to my dictionary, I was like, "God you are tooooooooooo GOOD!". Ever since I've been using this device, it has been amazing. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to take the bible with them anywhere

I bought this Holy Bible Bookman card to add to a dictionary I had from Franklin. I have really enjoyed having it. It's been easy to use and I find the Help button really is helpful. I have used this Bible card a lot and find the search feature particularly helpful when you just can't remember where a specific verse is. It's so convenient to have this card on my dictionary. It's really nice to have God's Word so handy! I have been very pleased with it and am glad Franklin made it available and for such an affordable price.

upsetting.......2007-05-03

I bought this because was affordable. It is so difficult to see the words. I used to own a RocketEbook and that thing was so great. This one doesn't hold a candle. Spend a little more buy something with a back light and something that doesn't confuse your computer. Mine uses xp and I had a lot of trouble getting the two in sync.

It's hard to read unless you have enough light, and even then there are times you cant read it. You have to reload everything every time you replace the batteries.

A Major Disappointment.......2003-03-04

I was very excited to get this module. I remember having had a franklin electronic bible years ago and I was hoping to have that convenience again. Unfortunately, the interface is abominable. There's no real concordance, and when you try to search, you can only do the Old or New Testament, and the presentation of results is lousy, and it always tries to search its topic index first. What a pain. I'll gladly settle for a software solution that takes up a couple of Meg, because this program is so abysmal. There are free solutions out there drastically better than this [$] module.

I love it when I am at church and the preacher asks to turn to a specific book and verse in the bible, and i pull out my PDA with my Franklin Bible and start reading along and taking notes. It is so practical. Thanks FRANKLIN!!!

This is the only module that I own, and the only one that I've been fascinated enough by to purchase. I really love it, and get the funniest comments about the functionality. When the pastor is quoting versus at lightspeed, I am easily able to keep up while everybody else just gives up. Tap. Tap. Tap. One feature it didn't have that I feel I was lead to believe it had was the capability to write extensive bookmarks. I would like to be able to associate notes with specific verses, instead I get a limited entry associated with the chapter.

Franklin Bible Reader.......2001-02-02

I have been using the Franklin Bible Module for about a week now and I love it. Plug it in and it works flawlessly on my Prism. The unit is basically Franklin's Reader and their Bible Ebook combined on a module to negate the use of RAM, which in my opinion is the strongest selling point. The Franklin Reader is very simple to navigate, though somewhat limited in features. I like the ability to search for phrases as opposed to just one word. You may also bookmark sections which is very nice to compare scripture or mark your stopping point. The devotional and the index are both nice touches. Anyone who is familiar with Franklin's electronic Bibles or the software Reader should love this product. I highly recommend it.

GREAT BURNER! BEEN USING FOR 9 MONTHS.......2005-01-12

I HAVE HAD THIS BURNER SINCE APRIL 2004 AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING GREAT! I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS BURNING TDK MEDIA ALSO BUT IT WAS TDK'S FAULT NOT THE BURNERS, IT HAS PAID FOR ITSELF COMPARED TO BUYING A NEW HARD DRIVE!

I SUGGEST RITEK G04 DVD-R'S FOR DATA BACKUP WITH THIS BURNER. A MUST BUY!!!!

It works as advertised.......2004-12-11

This drive was a father's day gift from my wife so I could use it to burn DVDs of our home movies. It installed quickly and has worked great both for DVD videos and archiving. The Nero software is great as well. I was almost out of room on my 120GB hard drive until I got this thing. It burns very quickly, and I have yet to purchase 8x media, which will speed it up even more.

I ran the firmware update before trying the drive because I'm a propeller-head, but it's a step I recommend highly for all hardware. In addition, the software that comes with it is buggy. A visit to Nero's website fixes that as well. The software is outstanding and stable once it's patched.

By the way, I've burned hundreds of TDK discs with this drive, both DVD+R and DVD-R with no problems. Your mileage may vary, but if you have problems with one brand of disc then try another brand until you find one that works, then stick with it. This is the cost of doing business if you want to burn discs, and blaming the manufacturer is just plain silly.

Creative Labs DVD +/- RW 8x.......2004-03-30

This is a terrific bundle! Solid product, even better software. If you are looking for a DVD burner and never used or want to upgrade your Nero, then get this product. Once you use Nero 6 you will never use anything else again.

I purchased this burner to go inside of an external firewire case in order to connect to my laptop. Works great, no problems what so ever. I should mention that when you need to upgrade the firmware that you will need to remove it from the external case and put it inside a tower and connect it via typical IDE master slave configuration. The firmware updates look for IDE channels and the like and don't know how to update over firewire (plug&play) connections. I do recommend performing the firmware update, it improved readability.

Good value and good product.......2004-03-25

This DVD drive for your PC will record and read in every DVD format available except for DVD-RAM, Panasonic's proprietary standard which is destined for the wastbasket anyway.

It reads and writes to DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, and the CD formats. For some reason, it writes at 8x for DVD+RW but only 4x for DVD-RW. With the 8x, you can burn an entire DVD in about 15 minutes. I like the + standard because most of the inexpensive DVD recorders for your video system also use the + standard.

I've used the recorder in my PC to make copies of DVDs that I recorded from my TV to my television DVD recorder, and it works great. Given the price and the fact that it works without a hitch, I highly recommend this product.
