GE Cordless Headset is the best product I have experienced of it's type. Excellent sound quality, due to headset's direct connection to the dialing pad. (No static or poor wiring connect, as with competitor's products.) I own two headsets and will never go back to hand-held phones again. It's the only way that a working girl can come home to do household chores and catch-up with friends/family on the phone! The belt-clip allows me complete use of my hands, while scooting around the house.
Getting A New Battery Is Apparently Impossible.......2005-07-28
This phone was decent except for two things:
1. It doesn't stay clipped to your belt or pants very well.
2. Most importantly, after 6 months of trying, I have not been able to find a replacement battery after mine would not recharge anymore. There appears to be one supplier and after several letters from them updating me that the battery was backordered, it was finally cancelled completely.

I have had several of the older model, 2-9917A, and as many of the posts here state, it's a fantastic machine! My batteries are finally going, so I Googled the model and found this forum. I'd thought to order the newer model (26977GE1), but aafter reading the reviews with respect to the mute button and headset, forgettaboutit!
I went back to Google and found a few battery suppliers. For $15 each (baber.com), my 2-9917A will breathe new life.
Now hopefully they won't be backordered....

Prefer the old headset.......2005-02-03
My new GE headset is still charging for the first time but the first thing I found right away is I don't like the headset on the new model. My old model is the 2-9918A. It has a fantastic headset. The new headset feels too squirmy with swiveling joints and the gooseneck mic is really floppy. I only put it on when I receive a call and I know I'll be adjusting it each time.
Can anyone recommend a replacement mic that works like the old one? (ie. No swivel and firm gooseneck that stays in place when you put it down on the table.)
Good, inexpensive cordless solution.......2005-01-14
I bought this unit to replace another GE cordless headset phone. I think it is a major improvement. Simple to use, reception is good and no interference with Wireless B network. It is a inexpensive cordless solution to the more expensive, though sexier, Plantronic products.

Looking for a good deal? Don't buy this.......2006-06-25
I actually got this as a gift back in 2002 or so, a good few years back. Back then, it was my first MP3 player and I was satisfied. However, I soon noticed its shortcomings.
First, it only has 64MB of space. I might as well be listening to a CD Player that has the same amount or more space. The only advantage of this would be that the Kaser is smaller than the CD player. Yet although it is smaller than a CD player, it is certainly much larger than any other MP3 player I've seen. Its chunky and clumsy and feels cheap in your hands.
The earbuds are pretty bad as well. I kept the silicon covers from them, but I threw the earbuds themselves. After a few months, one earbud was louder than the other. In addition to the poor sound, the MP3 player would actually make a buzzing sound with any speakers or earphones. As the batteries died out (which didn't take too long since this thing ATE through batteries) the buzzing grew until you couldn't hear the music anymore or the MP3 player just shut off.
The worst part is that this plays limited types of files. I know it plays MP3 files... but nothing else has worked for me. Long story... but put short, it was me putting on a .wav file on the Kaser that caused it to break. Now it can't play music at all. It can hold songs and data to be transferred to other computers though. Haha... its like a super chunky USB drive. Anyways... DO NOT BUY THIS. It's a waste of your money. You will regret it.
What a horrible piece of garbage........2005-01-07
I wouldn't give this to someone unless I absolutely hated them. Even then, I would think of something worse to give them that was free, like herpes or setting their house on fire. Stear clear of this "MP3" player. Don't be a tightwad, get an Iriver or Ipod.

The UI for the downloading software is terrible.

Couldn't install Driver, No Support.......2004-02-18
Wanted to use it to record voice and then transfer it to my computer. Recording seemed to work OK, but couldn't get the drivers to install on Windows 2000 nor Windows XP. The manual is the worst translated Chinese to English I've seen in quite a while, making it incomprehensible.
The Kaser Corp web site is awful and doesn't seem to provide any updated drivers. Tried to contact them, but never heard back.
piece of junk with no support.......2003-12-07
Purchased the player and it worked fine for two months of low use. Then it stopped playing music. Can move files back and forth just fine. FAQ's at their site are pitiful so I wrote tech support- no answer in a month. I just wrote again. If you want to roll dice and hope it works then go ahead but if it doesn't you are up the creek with no paddle and no place to turn for help.

I was surprised not to find some deffinitions! A little hard to see at times. Would have been better to have it back lit. All in all it's not bad!You can add books which is why I bought it!

I have had this dictionary over a year. I use it daily. I use such features as a dictionary, synonims and pronunciation. English is a second language for me so those features are very helpful and importamt . Also , I like the way words are explained. They are explained in simple manner. If I have a trouble still to understanding a meaning of a word I press for thesaurus. Some other time I have a trouble to understand a word in explanation, so I underline it and press a botton for clarification. In addition, I use thesaurus for selecting words when I write an essay , just replacing the same words with similar in meanings. My children find it useful and easy to use too.I love the this dictionary.
Not happy with the display.......2005-11-26
The words on the display look perfect under natural light. With any indoor lingting, the words project shadows on the display. Therefore, the user will see double images for each word and has to strain his/her eyes to read the definitions and examples. The dictionary has to be held at a certain angle relative to the light source in order to avoid shadows.
Motivating and helpful for the young student .......2005-09-23
The Franklin Merrian-Websters Speaking collegiate Dictionary, 11th Ediction - SCD1870 does everything it claims. I purchased it for my grandson to start 4th grade. He struggles with spelling, and I wanted to help reduce the frustration he feels when trying to look up words in a standard dictionary. He loves this device! Although it is not a child's dictionary, its features make it usable by even this young boy. He can type in a phonetic spelling and find the correct spelling for words he wants to use in his written work. Even though the definitions may be advanced, he can look up words in the definition instantly! His vocabularly is growing swiftly while his frustration level is decreasing. In addition, he learns new words every time he turns the Franklin on! He and I play the spelling games and have a lot of fun together while learning at the same time. His mother is overjoyed because my grandson can enter his weekly spelling words into the Franklin and practice on his own. Spelling is no longer overwhelming. In my professional capacity as psychotherapist and specialist consultant to families about learning disabilities, I am now recommending the Franklin as an assitive device for children at the right reading level.
