Many features, few cons.......2006-12-09
I have tried to use as many features of my camera as i can so that I can make sure that I have gotten my money's worth from the purchase and i have much in the way of unexplored territory left with my camera. This is a fine example of a high quality Sony product that is certainly worth the higher price tag that you find on it. The features included make for convenient video editing on your pc with excellent picture quality and sound in a very lightweight package that, for me, is just the right size and weight. If you do not want to go with the high definition or hard drive camcorder expense and technology yet but want about as good as it can get with Digital8, this is perhaps one of the best choices out there. I looked for several months before choosing this one and would certainly hope that others look around extensively as well since this is certainly no drop in the bucket for most people. It does very well for our family needs at special occasions and gatherings, kids' games, and trips.

Great features and great technology but as usual with Sony, it's junk. Sony products just don't last. I had mine for one year. Needs video head now. 264 dollars to repair. Previous Sony camcorder stopped ejecting tapes after one year. 185 dollars to repair. If you buy Sony, you better get the extended warranty. Dealers won't stand behind what they sell if it's out of warranty. They know it's junk. I have learned my lesson. No more Sony products.
great camcorder but part missing!!!.......2006-04-28
After a lot of research I bought this camcorder for my Dad.The only glitch was a missing remote control.Although everything about this camcorder are great and all but the reason I decided to write a review was twofold.Firstly, I would like to highly appreciate Crutchfield.com who is the retailer in this case.Their customer service is awesome and I will highly recommend this retailer because I think good customer service is the mainstay of comfortable and satisfactory online purchases.
Secondly ,I would also like to comment on Sony, that their customer service was not very nice,they want to charge me for the missing part and being rude about it.And Crutchfield on the other hand is going to reimburse me for whatever Sony will charge.

The Kenko KUT-832 is an 8 x 32 mm monocular that has been converted for digital photography use. It is very simple to use with digital cameras and camcorders. The telephoto lens comes with a tripod mount for better balance with certain digital cameras. When mounted, the telephoto capabilities of the lens are increased by 8 times. This allows for photographing of very distance subjects. The telephoto lens has a minimum focus distance of 70 cm (27.5 inches) meaning it can be used as a macro lens as well. Exciting to get but disappointing to use..........2007-02-15
I was really excited when i got this because i had heard so much about it but i was sorely disappointed. The sound is very quiet and very muffled and the mirror fogs up right away. It isn't even water resistant. As soon as it got wet, everything stopped working. For around $25, it was not worth all the cons. The buttons don't work that well either.
I also bought the new version of the same one, just to see what it was like and it was JUST AS BAD!!!!

Not gonna replace your Bose... OK pros-good battery life (only uses 4c not 6), sounds rreallly loud through head phones-better than my cd player, won't kill you if it falls in the tub.
Cons-latching problems, mirror worthless, and yeah, I wished it sounded like a stereo. If not for the latch, I would have given it a 4 in its genre.

Does the job, but will slow down your lens ..........2007-07-02
The 62mm circular polarizing filter is the size for select Pentax AF lenses, including the Pentax AF 28-105mm f/4.0-5.6 (although not the AL version, which is 58mm). I bought this filter for my AF 28-105 as it is my general "walkaround" lens on a Pentax K100D. For those that don't know (new to SLR), you need a "circular" polarizing filter on auto-focus lenses, as a "linear" polarizing filter will prevent autofocus from working. Adding this filter does bring out the rich colors of the sky and water without breaking the bank.
A prior reviewer complained it didn't do much for him/her, but circular polarizers are largely for reducing reflection (although, quite possibly, sometimes increasing refraction), so it's really only useful for the sky, water and reducing other light-based reflections. I don't know what the other reviewer meant by it resulting in "soft" images, although I have a Tamron 28-300mm 10.7x "superzoom" and it is soft on its own (and junk compared lower zooms, let alone prime, lenses).
Now be aware that this inexpensive filter is not most ideally transparent and the additional f-stops this filter will add will limit your capabilities. If you're trying to capture such motion and want a better filter, you're already spending more money for a faster lens as well (or you should be). If not, then this is the filter you want, at the right price. I give it four (4) stars because it is a great value for still or slower motion photography when you have inexpensive lenses where speed is not your consideration, but cost is.
Again, remember, you need "circular" polarizing filters for auto-focus lenses, or auto-focus will not work (such as with "linear" ones).
Weak polarization effect.......2007-01-11
We purchased the filter for use on a 28-300 mm Tamron lens. We're very disappointed in the polarization - there is very little discernible difference as the filter is turned. Also, it messes up the focusing, making everything "soft-focused", particularly in telephoto ranges.
