Somewhat good.......2005-08-04

The Good:
-The Media reader is a great add-on. It works with standard scroll and slideshow functions.
-The Sound is great, it's good to not have to hook all components to the receiver and TV. With the n3200w, you can have one input to the receiver from the tv, and it sounds great (it's only stereo. No dolby 5.1).
-The tv is bright. It has no problem being too dark, and even if it is, there is a menu to adjust the brightness and contrast

The Bad:
-With all analog input signals (except the PC), the picture gets very NOISY. Items in focus are usually void of this problem, but there is lots of noise on backgrounds. It also has a bad problem with fading. For example, if you ever seen the New Line Cinema logo/intro to a movie, there is a glow behind the picture of the film. With this tv, the glow is very fuzzy, and it isn't a smooth transition from light to dark; you see "steps." This is has not been a problem with using the VGA and DVI inputs however. Perhaps it has a problem with scaling to any resolution besides it's native (1280x768).

Overall:
The ViewSonic is a good overall package, especially for the price. It is wall mountable (although I haven't tried it), and it has most of the needed inputs (except HDMI, which you can buy a converter to DVI). However, for straight cable signals, s-video and component, you will have to move your seat/couch back if you don't want to notice noise and "rain" in the background.

Viewsonic Support.......2005-05-16

Viewsonic does not offer in home service for this large monitor (like many other manufacturers). If you have a problem you will need to ship it to Viewsonic.

I have what I thought was a minor problem which could easily be resolved. The media reader did not work properly. After much going back and forth with Viewsonic their service department determined the media reader portion of the N3200W does not work properly with some standard digital camera files and now states "the media reader is considered a courtesy picture viewing function of the display" and as such will not guarantee that it will perform properly. The N3200W product information does not call the reader a courtesy function as I took in good faith it would work, it doesn't work with many jpg files.

I have not yet determined if all other functions work properly (I don't use all the inputs/outputs). Are there other "Courtesy" functions not supported by Viewsonic?

Highly Recommended LCD HDTV.......2004-12-14

Great features - Wonderful picture quality connecting to regular satelite TV, Upconverter samsung hd dvd player (thru DVI input) and computer - Good price 2078$ from microcenter (compare to other expensive 32'' lcd tv like sony, panasonic, sharp...). That is all i can say about this lcd hdtv after 3 days of using.
I have bought 26'' samsung, sharp and 30'' olevia. None of them is as good as this one. I returned them all. I highly recommend of this one. Hopefully, this would help you guys something on purchasing a TV. (-:

JVC RX7020VBK DOLBY DIGITAL DTS RECEIVER.......2002-06-17

The receiver works great with DVD players. We set ours up to a JVC TV and a JVC DVD player and with the push of the button the whole system comes on. The only problem that I had with it was that it didn't have a A/B switch on it for the speakers. Other than that the price we found was a good price for what it had.

Poor documentation then broke.......2006-08-11

The documentation that comes with this device does not explain correctly how to make it work. I tried calling support but gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes. E-mail support answered my first problem (software wouldn't install, answer was turn off firewall) in 24 hours. Once that was fixed I had another problem that was also answered (nothing would print, answer was to add as TCPIP port) in 24 hours. Why this information is not in the documentation is beyond me. I couldn't find it on their website either.

4 months after purchase, the thing is dead. No lights (although power supply still works). I'll never buy another product from this company.

Hawking Tech. 3 Paralell Port 10/100M Print Server.......2005-10-08

As technology moves on and old hardware (i.e. printers) remains functional, it is difficult to maintain certain types of equipment without a bridge between the old technology and the new technology. This Hawking Tech. Print Server fills that need beautifully. They are one of the few companies that manufacture a wired network device that can support my parallel port work-horse printers. The installation software is not for the squeamish, though. It can be a little difficult to navigate through as you are installing it on the multiple systems that will have access to the printers through the print server. Once fully installed onto the network, it works almost flawlessly. The only drawback that I have encountered is with my inkjet printer. The auto-on feature no longer works. I have to manually turn that printer on in order for it to print. If I forget to turn it on before sending a document to it, that's okay. The print server holds the document in queue until I manually turn it on. Oddly enough, I do not have the same problem with my laser jet (of the same manufacturer). I have purchased several of these print servers for other folks (i.e. friends and family) and been very satisfied with the results. I am not given to making recommendations on products, but this one was worth it.

Linux users beware.......2004-05-25

I tried to config this on a Linux only net but couldn't do it. Had to get a friend with a Windows laptop to make it work. Turns out the problem is that the HPS3P can't reassemble packets when receiving a GET request with authentication (always lost the authorization and kept asking for a password). Hawking tech support was responsive until I pointed out their firmware was buggy. I had used a Hawking PN7337 until it died and it was much easier to setup on a Linux network.
