Product Description
The Diamond 8 series is the result of over three years intensive research and development into virtually every aspect of acoustic design. Firstly, the tweeter in all models is a 25mm textile dome, ferrofluid cooled unit powered with an ultra-strong neodymium magnet for the fastest, most accurate response International Audio Group has ever achieved. Next, the woofer cone is made from a bi-directional KEVLAR weave - self-damping in nature, reducing resonant frequencies to virtually negligible levels. The impetus for rapid movement here, is a dual layer, vented voice coil which transmits the signal information with the highest levels of accuracy. The cone is mounted on a nitrile rubber 'Flexaural surround rim'. A profiled phase plug improves the off-axis performance to project an excellent stereo image across a wide listening area. All the stereo models are front ported to enable positioning close to a back wall. Gold-plated bi-wire terminals are used for connection and you should take advantage of the increase in openness this offers, even if using an amplifier with single connections. The final test though, of any loudspeaker is not how much technology is used in the constituent parts, but how these react together to form a coherent package. It's more about the kind of music synergy that can be created between the various elements to ensure the overall result is much more than the sum of the parts. It is this elusive element, the 'musicality' that separates the Diamond 8 from all the competition and you will not believe the results.

Damn Fine Speakers.......2007-05-26
By all means, use quality gear to drive these speakers.. I've used Rotel, and Adcom amps as well as a Harman Kardon AVR-340 to drive both 8.1's and currently a pair of 8.2's They are sweet speakers.. Excellent sound stage, presence,. and wonderful imaging. The accurracy with quality Vs. Hype marketing amps is amazingly apparent. Positioning and accoustics will enhance their performance even more. They even have decent bass when set correctly using a good solid stand. I can almost relate the performance of the 8.1 or 8.2's in close comparison to Celestion Model 100's. Similar specs but the 100's are in a league of their own. For the price of either pair of the Wharf's make it a sure bargain for Hi End quality on a beer budget.
Wharfedale Diamond 8.1: Incredible value, but needs a great amp to shine.......2006-06-25
I've owned my Wharfedale Diamond Wharfedale 8.1s for over a year now. I previously had Polk Audio RTi4s and Klipsch SB1s which I thought were both excellent speakers (though very different in sound). I have a range of amplifiers and receivers and what I observed is that the Diamond 8.1 really needs a good amp to drive it or you get the "muddy" or "weak" sound other reviewers have complained of. Good amp doesn't mean "high watts" it means high current capability and amplifier stability across the entire frequency range. "Lesser" amps will have a hard time driving the Diamond 8.1s particularly as the speakers' impedance drops (from an already low 6 ohms) at the bass and lower mid-range frequencies, thus creating a really difficult load for most amps. What amazed me is how much better the Diamond 8.1s sounded with each increase in amplifier capability. The other speakers I have didn't reveal such improvements. This suggests the Diamond 8.1s are simply more transparent and revealing than my Polks and Klipsch speakers. This speaker features high-end drivers which may account for its performance. Wharfedale obviously cut costs on the veneer, grill, etc. to keep the price low.
Some tweaks that may help improve the sound of these speakers even further:
(1) Remove the plates which connect the biwired terminals together and replace with a short length of decent quality cable (I happen to use Monster cable which is also the internal wiring). This should improve all aspects of the sound immediately.
(2) Bi-wiring the speakers or bi-amping the speakers can improve the audio "soundstage", but really, the quality of the electronics driving the speakers is far more important.
Overall, I think this speaker is an incredible value, but needs a great amp driving it to shine. It's ironic that such inexpensive speakers really should not be paired with budget amps or receivers. I hope everyone who owns these speakers is able to get as much enjoyment from them as I do.
Stunning value!.......2006-01-29
Below is my review of the 8.1's slightly bigger brother, the 8.2s which have a little extra bass but otherwise are very similar to these 8.1s --- the 8.1s are often said to have a more musical and accurate woofer/tweeter balance though. If you have a good subwoofer the 8.1s might well be the better choice and are even more amazingly affordable.
========
For a long time I had a very low opinion of this speaker, having only heard at a friend's house who runs them off a very cheap Pioneer 414 receiver and has them positioned quite poorly. After discussing these speakers on an Internet audio forum (ecoustics dot com) I finally decided to borrow them from my friend for a week and hooked them up to my digital Panasonic sa-xr55 and then to my NAD separates.
VOILA!!! It was really like day and night compared to how they sounded in my friend's living room. Both my Panny and NAD are light years better than his one hundred thirty dollar Pioneer, and these Diamonds blossomed. Excellent imaging, warm lush midrange (vocals), solid bass, and nice big soundstage. In short, they had the presence of an entry-level floorstander but the midrange delicacy of a fine bookshelf speaker. The tweeter was not quite as precise as my Ascend Acoustics speakers' during treble peaks at high volumes (above 90db) but the Ascends are by far the best bang-for-your-buck audiophile speakers out there.
I suspect that a lot of the poor reviews around here came from people with similarly crappy receivers who are relatively new to audio and don't understand proper speaker placement and room acoustics. See, the Diamonds are 6 ohm impedance and low 86db sensitivity so they do need more high quality current than your typical 8 ohm, +90db mass-market speakers.
Note I did not say "watts per channel" since most manufacturers today hideously overinflate their RMS numbers especially for their cheap entry level models. (Harman Kardon, Marantz, and NAD are the most honest; Sony, Onkyo, and Yamaha are the least.)
Another key point is that like most audiophile speakers, these Wharfedales are not deliberately designed to accentuate the bass and treble while rolling off the midrange (the V-shaped equalizer curve commonly found in most kids' systems) like the kind of speakers commonly found in boomboxes and mini-stereos that are aimed at kids who usually listen to rock, rap, and dance music often in compressed MP3 formats or off FM radio. Audiophile speakers are aimed more at people who listen to jazz, classical, instrumental, or vocal-dominated music which all benefit from a more neutral frequency response and full-bodied midrange.
So if you're looking for speakers to blast AC/DC or Snoop Dog, I'd recommend JBL or Cerwin Vega instead. If not, these Wharfedales are an incredible steal at this price and should provide you with years of enjoyment. (You won't enjoy taking the grills on and off but very few people ever do that anyways, so relax.)
a little different, but very nice.......2004-12-25
I really like these little speakers. All wharfedale products I've ever owned have always been above par and always impressed anybody that heard them. After seeing bad reviews I was a little worried that they made a lemon, but the one thing that nobody mentions with these speakers is that there's a very long break in period. My old wharfedale atlantic 200's took about 100 hours to break in. After that the entire frequency range sounded much better, especially the midrange. I'm noticing the same thing with the diamond 8.1's. After 20 hours of hard use they've already been mistaken for the kenwood 15" floorstanders they're sitting on.
Wanna laugh?.......2004-04-08
Wanna laugh, try placing the Wharfedale Diamond speakers next to a set of Polk Audio RTI series speakers and then look and listen. The Polk Audio RTI series cost a little more, $259 for the RTI4 compared to $199 for the Wharfedale Diamond 8.1, so you might expect a little more to begin with, but the difference is like day and night. The British are known to have a strange sense of humor, but here with the UK Wharfedale brand, the joke is on us.
The Polk Audio series are simply elegant and have superb sound quality in comparison. The Wharfedale Diamonds sound OK, I guess, but they miss out in reproducing the entire sound range for which they are designed. I'm not talking just about the deeper bass, which both sets lack due their bookshelf size, but somewhere within the mid-range as well.
Where did all the rave reviews of the Wharfedale Diamond series come from? Not just those written by consumers, but those by professional reviewers as well. Even if you're on a budget, look and listen before believing that you're getting a good buy.

Excellent if the price is right and size doesn't matter.......2007-04-16
A step up in sound from the C250. It's huge for a center. I have new respect for the c250 after owning this. It is the better deal for the $ and is about 1/3 the size. Bring this monster home and be ready for a domestic dispute with the wife. I'm speaking from personal experience. It's kinda like putting your subwoofer on top of your T.V. Also, The speaker began to distort at high volumes well before 200 watts. Note: this test was only done using the c360 as a full range speaker. When cutting frequencies 80hz and below off, the speaker was fine. Makes me wonder though, how they measured their speaker rms rating. Infinity is aware of the speaker grill problem on these. It's falling apart in many cases. The glue or adhesive they used was bad or improperly applied. This is a great speaker if size doesn't matter. According to my wife, it does matter. You can hide or put aside any speaker except the center one.

Wherever you are, the high performance one-touch control lets you zoom in for portraits and zoom out for wide shots. With the F620 you can just point and shoot as the mood takes you, as the automatic flash fires when you need more light for brighter, more colorful pictures. And there's no need to worry about whether your pictures will be sharp - the advanced auto-focus lens will ensure great results every time. The F620 is an advanced camera that remains easy to use.
Amazon.com Product Description
Kodak's F620 uses the popular APS Advantix film to provide high-quality photos in everyday use. With its one-touch 2x zoom lens, you can quickly zoom in or out for that perfect shot. The camera has an advanced autofocus lens so you can snap pictures with ease. Stretch yourself creatively by choosing from three different print formats: classic, panoramic, or group format. The flash unit is automatic and has a mode that reduces annoying red eye in your photos. You can also manually turn the flash on or off for greater control.
The unique PQix technology records important information onto the film's magnetic strip that the photo lab uses to print sharper and better-looking photos. The easy-to-read LCD panel displays information about your current shooting mode. The F620 also has a self-timer that is useful for taking group photos or self-portraits. Film loading is a cinch, simply drop in the film and the camera automatically handles the rest with features such as double-exposure protection and a safety-lock door.
Customer Reviews:
Great, user friendly camera.......2004-05-13
I've had a great experience with the Advantix F620. My favorite feature is it prints the date on the back of each photo. The zoom is awesome, and it has an auto shut-off if you forget and leave the camera on.
Good.......2004-03-28
I got this camera on sale so especially for the price I paid I feel like it's a great little camera. The picture quality is generally good, and it has quite a few features and it's user-friendly in every way. The only thing that it has done to bother me is get a little fuzzy on long-distance shots when you're using the zoom (w/o the zoom they're clear and close up zoom shots are very clear). But a higher speed film (at least 400) seems to minimize that problem. I am looking for a new camera b/c I want a more powerful zoom, but I will continue using this one as well, especially outdoors, for the panoramic mode.
Annoying delay.......2003-11-24
Do not try to capture things that move - like kids. You push the button at the perfect moment and the camara takes the picture at least a full second afterwards. By that time the perfect moment is gone. I have so many pictures of my kids looking away because of this. Don't waste your money. This camara is terribly flawed!

Product Description
The Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) lets you easily connect to any printer and print documents by specifying the device's URL. With IPP Technology, Printing over a WAN or the Internet becomes much easier. You can send a job to a printer in another country just as easily as to a printer in your own office. Why use a fax to send information from office to office when you can print your documents directly from your computer to another out-of-office printer? The palm-sized Hawking 10/100 Internet Print Server is the most convenient way to connect your printer to a network. It provides a 10/100Mbps auto-sensing port, allowing flexible attachments to either 10BaseT or 100BaseTX networks without the need for a dedicated PC print server. The PN7127P also supports multiple servers and multiple protocols, which will allow you to print from anywhere, from any computer and from any application. The PN7127P not only gives network users greater flexibility, but also reduces file server load. This enhances both printing performance as well as overall network performance. You can place your printer anywhere in the network. There is no need to place your printer right next to the workstation or file server. Managing your PN7127P is simple. The built-in Web Management feature will allow you to configure, monitor the status of, and even reset the PN7127P from anywhere via a web browser. Furthermore, the PN7127P supports the most popular network protocols such as Microsoft NetBEUI, Novell IPX/SPX, Macintosh AppleTalk, TCP/IP. IPP will allow you to connect the PN7127P to any platform such as Windows 95/98/2000/ME, NT, NetWare, UNIX, LINUX and Macintosh networks.

Poor overall documentation and reliability........2003-09-17
After a difficult initial setup caused by the lack of good product documentation the 7127P worked well for 6 months. The 7127P recently died in the middle of a print job and the printer starting endlessly printing mostly blank pages. Now the 7127P is useless. The unit gets a valid IP address but I can only sporadically access its configuration page. PSAdmin only shows the product at certain times and it's now impossible to configure the 7127P. When I restart the print server it works briefly, if at all, and then dies within a few minutes.
I upgraded to a Netgear PS101 and it works without a hitch. I recommend you buy that product instead of this one.
Installed and Working - Excellent.......2003-08-14
Sorry previous reviewers, but I have to disagree.
It took 10mins to install, including the 3mins spent crawling around under the desk trying to find a spare power outlet.
I followed the procedure shown in the Quick Installation Guide, which was easy to follow and for once the screenshots in a manual looked exactly like the screens on my laptop, and had it installed and successfully printing to a Brother HL-1440 Series printer within minutes.
Looking forward to many more successful network print jobs.
Economical reliable print sever.......2003-07-16
I agree that the documentation is not the best, but it really isn't that tough to set up. Once you get it set up this thing is bulletproof. My print server has been running for several months now with no problems. It is truely a set it and forget it item. This is the perfect addition to any home network.
A good product.....but..........2003-05-30
This print server does everything it says it does, but the manual and software given is poorly written. The manual is written at a 6th grade level and does not adequatly explain how to get the software to work with the server. In the end it is a good product if you know what you're doing...NOT FOR BEGINNERS

If only.........2007-09-26
If only other products worked half as well as every single Logitch product I've purchased, there would be some lonesome customer sevice reps.
The unit I recently purchased is to eventually replace the same one I've had for almost 5 years.
Now, I've never thrown it agianst a wall in a fit of anger, or dropped from more than 2 feet...but I have dropped it a lot of times. The range is unbelievable, it goes through walls. The durability has surpassed ALL expectations. This thing just works correctly, every time.
works for mac, even if it says PC.......2007-09-09
I ordered two wireless rumblepads for my macbook. I was worried when I saw that the package only listed instructions for PC, but on my macbook, they were plug & play. No installation needed. These work very well. I was skeptical about the performance of the wireless aspect of these controllers, but the buttons have worked 100% of the time and the response time is impeccable. The only problem that I've had is when using both of them simultaneously, the controllers have actually switched in the middle of gameplay (player one became player 2, and vice versa). This has only happened once, and I use the controllers frequently. Since now I make sure that each controller is sync-ed to the appropriate sensor before running any games. Overall the best gamepad out there.
Completely impressed in every possible way.......2007-09-07
Well, I must admit I almost never right reviews but after configuring this Logitech Gamepad, I couldn't be happier. Most of the other positive reviews cover the overall basics: good build, easy to clean, durable (although I have found the 1 key to stick at time), 10 ft range, ps2 controller feel, plenty of button positions to program (28 if you count both the analog directional pad and 4 positions per joystick).
I had a bit of a problem with the fact that I initially found this gamepad surprisingly difficult to use with a few fairly recent FPS games (Far Cry, Battlefield series; GTA vice city worked straight away and even had a default configuration), not by the fault of Logitech but rather because these games lack joypad support (this is because these games generally require the use of the keyboard keys for movement while using the mouse to control view and aiming). However, after snooping around the internet I found a great program called ControlMK. It basically allows you to program every single key on the gamepad with any key or movement normally performed with a keyboard or mouse. This means I was able to program one joystick with movement via keyboard keys (W,S,A,D) and the other joystick with mouse axis controls (pos/neg x/y) allowing it to function with the view ability (while obviously using a mouse/keyboard for most games is more accurate, it's easy to get good with this setup and a few tweeks of threshold and gain settings)! Not only was this a great solution to playing ANY game regardless of joypad support, it also allows me to use my joypad for regular operating system controls (mouse movement and clicks, media controls, directional keys, etc)! Coupled with the exceptionally long range provided by the wireless, I lay back in bed with my Dell XPS laptop running Windows Vista Business connected to a 50 inch plasma tv and play video games while sometimes breaking to check email or stock quote updates without moving a muscle! Also means I don't have to worry about taking my wireless mouse/keyboard combo with me on a trip if I want to play or just watch movies on the widescreen display at a distance while having control of volume, start/stop, track skipping and mouse functions at my finger tips.
All in all, if you want to have a great value solution for mobile gaming, I've never used one more versatile than this. Coupled with ControlMK, it should work with just about any game and you can also use this as a programmable remote control for your pc. The wireless range is exceptional and the feel is exactly what you'd expect. I've had other great Logitech products and I'm glad to see a veteran hardware company like this contiue to release new innovative products. A++!
Edit:
Forgot to mention that Windows Vista actually comes with an onscreen keyboard in the accessories section. With this you can even "type" by using the controller to mouse over any onscreen keyboard letters and clicking.
"Compatible" doesn't mean "supported" on Mac OS X.......2007-08-30
No Mac OS X software is supplied or available from Logitech. When Logitech says it's "compatible" with Mac OS X, they mean that it's *possible* for individual games to support it -- but it's up to the game publisher. They don't mean that any particular game supports it or that they'll do anything to help. So the chance that this will work with games you've got is near zero.
Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 with Vibration .......2007-08-25
I have found this product to be everything it is supposed to be. The balance is good, the reaction time is quick, The wireless controller can be operated from across the room. I have not had any button problems as far as sticking or not responding. Some people may not like the little green light flashing all the time but I find this as a sign that it is working. I still haven't had to replace the batteries so battery life is as avertised. In my purchases I have not had a bad Logitech product. I hope it stays that way.
