I liked the message center feature and speaker phone which is why I bought it. Unfortunately it stopped working about 5 months after I got it. Just doesn't dial the numbers at all after it's been off the charger a while. Sometimes it works if you keep switching channels. Of course since I threw it at the wall it doesn't work at all. I only paid $25 for it on QVC so it really doesn't even pay for me to pack it up and ship it for repair. Spend your money on a Toshiba.

It's got class.......2006-03-08

I started with a used M4 back in '84, which I regret selling, then years later bought a m6ttl, which had crazy high battery consumption (new battery ever 8 rolls or so) and I always hated the higher height. I sold that right away when the MP came out and I've been delighted ever since.

Everything about this camera is near perfect: the quality, the view finder, sound of the shutter makes one drool, the black paint is way better than the old black chrome. yes it take longer to rewind the film but I'm not shooting sports with this camera, this is my street camera and it doesn't kill me to spend an extra minute to reload.

Not so sure I would buy one now, not at the crazy high prices, but it sure is a nice camera.

Best Mechanical Leica M Rangefinder Camera, But..........2004-12-21

Although I am a fan of Leica rangefinder cameras and lenses, I have mixed feelings about this camera. Without question, it is the best designed, most robust, manual "M" rangefinder camera Leica has built since the original M4 from the late 1960's and early 1970's (Indeed, "MP" stands for Mechanical Perfection.). Indeed, it is the first Leica M camera since the legendary M3, M2 and M4 to have its top and bottom plates manufactured from brass. However, it does not handle nearly as well as a M4 or M6 with regards to rewinding film (The spool rewind knob is the worst designed feature on this camera; Leica engineers opted for this instead of the rewind crank which has been a standard feature of Ms since the M4 stating that the camera would be more rigid, and thus, structurally sound. It's an argument I find very unconvincing. If you opt for a custom made MP via Leica's new A La Carte program, you can get a M4/M6/M7 style rewind crank at an additional charge, which isn't cheap.). But film advance is the best I have handled for any M camera, especially with the newly reissued Leicavit rapid winder built for this camera. Aside from these changes and a newly redesigned rangefinder window which is a major improvement over previous designs with respect to flaring, the MP is a modified, greatly improved version of the original M6 camera. If you insist on owning the finest mechanical 35mm rangefinder camera, then the Leica MP is the one for you, preferably one with a black paint finish, since it wears well after heavy usage. Otherwise, I would recommend buying either a new M7 camera or considering a used M6 in excellent working condition.

I bought this notebook as a replacement for my old eMachines notebook, in order to work on business projects, help me with email, and do presentations. Turns out this was many degrees better than my old eMachines notebook, and was probably one of the best purchases I could have made.

From the great outward appearance to the large 15.4" screen, this notebook really shined in nearly all arenas from display size to performance. The screen size really helps when I've got 15 or more applications open (and need the awesome screen real estate to move those windows around), and the amount of RAM and HDD space provide more than enough power to chew through spreadsheets and presentations.

In running Windows XP, I had to use a variety of programs from Outlook to MSN Messenger and Skype in order to connect to other company employees and get my job done. In all of the time I had the notebook (I've had this notebook for nearly 2 years now), it has never given me a bluescreen and hasn't had any trouble running any of the software I've put on it.

Network connectivity is really good as well: both wired and wireless network connections operate flawlessly, and are extremely easy to set up. HP is also really good about legacy support, so you'll be able to find drivers for this notebook on the HP website without any problems.

Power (battery life) is probably the biggest factor in buying a notebook, especially one with a large screen. I've gotten about 2.5 hours maximum on a full charge, with the display turned low and other power-saving features enabled over time. Not bad for normal operation, and more than enough to carry me through meetings or to put together last-minute touches on a presentation while I'm on a plane.

For an overall notebook workhorse for business or development use, the HP dv4170us gets my recommendation without hesitation.

This is THE external hard drive to get in my opinion. No extra plugs, just plug the USB in and it's ready to use. How much easier can it get? I bought my first one to get some of the photos off of my old Win98. I just got another for the iMac. Both just plug in and work!
