I bought this for my parents for Christmas. It doesn't work at all. The dvd drawer won't open. It won't play a VCR tape. I have yet to find out if Amazon or the "Close out King" will replace it or refund my money.

Pleasantly Surprised.......2004-05-13

I have been a Sony buyer for a long time, but lately Sony seems to be slipping in quality. Since I needed a new DVD/VCR combo and wasn't willing to deal with Sony this time around I spent several weeks reading reviews and finding out the pros and cons of every combo device on the market. I have now owned the Zenith XBV343 for 2 months and I am pleasantly surprised by how much it really does offer. I create my own DVD from home movies as well as a tv tuner on my PC and this thing handles any disc format I throw at it. The optical output was also a must for me and it works with my DTS surround system flawlessly. For the price that I paid I feel like I ripped Zenith off for all the features that this has.

We ordered this to replace an inexpensive VCR that was being moved to an extra room. The combo and value first attracted us, as did other reviews on previous models. Set-up was simple, instructions are good enough that two non-techies can follow them. The remote isn't any more confusing/complicated than others - an industry-wide standard is the only thing that will solve this. Everything works fine so far - we've had the unit only a week. There was some confusion with shipping because of the back order status, but Amazon was great to work with and provided a most satisfactory resolution to the problem. Definitely a recommended product and source for purchasing the item.

This phone has, to date, survived 2 years of the best that my young children can do to it - dropping it from 4 feet on linoleum, chewing on it, drooling on it, etc. We like the handset and how it feels, and we like that it comes with the earpiece, which is great for being on hold and long conversations. It is also nice that the "antenna" lights up when the phone is on the line so I can tell if my son has pushed numbers and is playing, or if he has actually pressed the talk button and dialed.
When we moved to a bigger place and needed another phone, we bought a 5.8GHz one from Walmart and that one couldn't make it diagonally across our place, while this one has no problems... so we returned it and just bought ourselves another one like the one we have and love.

Not long lasting--sound died.......2005-10-14

the phone didn't last that long--just under 2 years. Currently callers can barely hear me and I can barely hear them. We actually switch to my mobile phone to hear each other better!

Bad Phone.......2004-07-09

Reception is acceptable. Caller ID window is very small and the text font in it is incredibly small. After four months the speaker starting going in and out during every call. Sometimes the speaker would go out for a couple minutes at a time. Now I'm back buying another phone, not GE this time.

We have had this crappy phone for one year. and its like we had it for 6 years. it won't dial the correct number, it makes loud funny noises, you have to press the key pad very hard to dial, and it doesn't last as long off charge like they say...

I got this little MP3 CD player when it went on a great sale because my old CD player was five or more years old and didn't really work. I never listen to my CDs anymore, but I was going on a long plane ride/bus trip so I needed something to listen to.

There are skips, some songs that it will refuse to play, and doesn't work too well upside down. Mine had a tendancy to just turn off for no apparent reason, even if it had fresh batteries and the buttons locked. Oh, and the locker is cheap. It kept un-locking and then the player would turn on and run the batteries dry.

Not a huge problem and served me well on my trip. It's now gathering dust and will probably get chucked next time I trip over it.

Great for trips/children who break things/people who want a cheap MP3 CD player. NOT great for music conesueirs or people who move a lot. Whether it is for you, I don't know.

I bought this player when it was $50 and now im regretting it. I've had it for about a month and used it maybe 5 times. NOW it wont even see my mp3 cds. it just searches for like 10 minutes and then it says no cd.DONT BUY THIS BECAUSE IT IS CHEAP ...!IT HAS POOR SOUND QUALITY AND LIKES TO QUAKE AND STOP WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG!!!!!!

... The sound is good, anti-skip in CDA mode works well, the player seems reasonably durable. I found no problems with it recognizing long-file-names, though I've found it's helpful to start each track with a number '01 - blah', etc; otherwise, the player can be unpredictable in it's ordering of tracks. All in all though, I'm reasonably impressed.
