If you have a phone that supports handsfree/voice activated dialing then don't get this particular model. It doesn't allow for you to dial without grabbing the phone physically.The model you would want is the Plantronics MX510-X1. I returned this unit only because I wanted the entire handsfree aspect. It is very comfortable and sound quality was great.The description is misleading for this particular model.

I always thought that Plantronics was top of the line and the best headset to buy. The only problem is, everytime I use it, my customer asks me if I'm talking to them. This is unacceptable.

Good, but missing feature claimed in description.......2007-06-28

To amplify what A. Shick says below, this headset does NOT support connecting/disconnecting a call from the headset control, despite what the description very clearly claims. That feature is only available via the 510 X1.

I exchanged the 505 I ordered, as having to drag the phone out to answer it sort of defeats the purpose of using a headset. The 510 X1 gets five stars from me.

Get the MX505-X1 instead.......2007-06-26

This one does not have a button to start/end calls while the X1 does. However, the product description is not clear on this. If your phone supports the headset button feature, I strongly recommend the X1 version, which often is the same price or less (at least it was when I bought it).

Other than that it has great sound quality and is durable. Some may not find it all that comfortable owing to the rigid plastic ear piece that slightly enters your ear canal, but it does not bother me.

Highly recomended.......2007-06-08

This is by far the best headset that I have ever used, and I have used plenty! The sound quality is great on both ends of the call. You can hear callers very clearly, with no loss of sound. In fact callers sound better to me on my head set than on my phone. The calling party will also appreciate the voice quality that is captured, I have been asked by several people what phone I'm using because the sounds is so clear. Wind noise is completely eliminated except in the most extreme situations. I can drive down the road with the top down and windows rolled down without a problem.

I have tried just about every other headset out there, including 4 different Bluetooth headsets. The sound quality does not even compare. BLUETOOTH MIGHT BE SEXY, but if you want a product that works and delivers outstanding sound quality then this is the headset for you. If you're looking for a headset/status symbol then keep on looking, but please don't call me on it :-)

surprisingly great wind reduction.......2007-08-08

This headset has wind reduction that works GREAT. I can drive on the freeway with the windows down and trucks going by, and the person I'm talking to can still hear me clearly.

The reduction works best on wind, or noises that sound like wind (kinda white noise). So it doesn't reduce noise as well from, e.g. nearby radio music or loudspeaker announcements in the mall.

The headset has a mute button, works well, convenient. The mute function is a mechanical switch (not an electrical button). The indicator that lets you know if it is muted or not is a red/green tab - it doesn't light up, hard to see in the dark.

Also, the Amazon overview says that this headset has a call answer/end button - it does NOT. If you really need it, try the MX510-X1 Plantronics MX510-X1 Mobile Headset for most phones with standard 2.5mm headset jack - Audiovox, Bla - it is a similar headset that DOES have a call answer/end function.

Plantronics the best but this model not that Good.......2007-08-07

Plantronics is known for making the best headsets but this model does not live up to that standard. The design is great but the clarity of voice (mic.) is low grade and the volume of voice sounds to your listener like you're talking into the mic. from another room.

The purpose of this feature is to reduce background noise but I find it to not be usable for regular conversation is a quiet environment.

One BUTTON short of perfection........2007-05-21

Amazon review of this item is wrong. It DOES NOT have a button that assists with making calls. Thing ONLY has a MUTE button. I was tricked. Anyhow, I still love it more than the headset I bought from sprint that keeps falling out of my ear. This headset is super comfy.

MX150 rated better.......2007-05-14

I recently purchased both the MX505 and the MX150. According to the people I was talking to, the 505 had more "running water" sound in the background, making it harder to understand me. Keep in mind I'm a truckdriver often talking to other truckdrivers in noisy environments. At home in a quiet environment, it worked great attached to either my cell or my cordless phone.

My husband's car has a glass-pack muffler and it is so loud I can't think when I ride in it. He can talk to me while driving his car using this headset on his cell phone and I can't hear any background noise what-so-ever! He never has any trouble hearing me either. He says it's very comfortable to wear. As the person on the other end of the headset, I would definitely recommend this headset if background noise is an issue.

I bought this same type of a CF card and took it on a trip, i took over 358 pictures and it never even filled up 75% of the space , i had to change my batteries about 6 times, i use the E/2 batts they are great but expensive.
