I use the cartridge in my Epson 860 for printing basically photos. So far I have not had any of my pictures fade or turn different colors since I have been using the ink and printer for about a year. If you don't use photo glossy paper however, the ink will run dry sooner. And don't forget Epson fans, always turn on your printer at least once a week (you don't have to print anything) in order to keep the ink jets from clogging.

Good ink for up to 1440 DPI. Provides very nice color photo results at a fairly economical cost. Could be slightly better in the instructions (only remove the yellow tape on the top before installing). All in all, good ink for the money that works quite well on a wide variety of papers.

Through the years of owning printers,I've had the pleasure of using Top Brand name printers,HP,LEXMARK,EPSON. Because I run alot of graphic software,and print from my camcorder to make stills of my Family.Nothing is close to the photo print quality you get from Epson and their ink.When I take a scan and copy the picture with 1200 dpi,on photo paper(also Epson)you cannot tell them apart. I have given away my HP and Lexmark printers and Hands down I'm sticking with EPSON. Thanks for a perfect product.

I'd like to know if anyone else out there was ripped by a company named Imaprint? They sold me 6 ink cartridges. All of them were dried up. I contacted the company and they said to send them back. That was in Dec. of 2003 I have not heard from them yet. I mailed them by using the US mail service and used Delivery Confirmation. They signed for it and that was it. Also I contacted Amazon and they were of no help to me at all.

Epson's ink has always worked fine in my Epson Stylus 640. If only it weren't so expensive. I just ordered cartridges from a third-party manufacturer; four black and two color cartridges and a head cleaning kit for the price of one black and one color cartridge from Epson. If the third-party ink doesn't perform, I'll replace my printer with another brand.

I own an Epson 750 and find that Epson's black causes fewer nozzle clogs (an Epson weakness) than non-branded replacements. Generics work fine for color cartridges. Don't buy this cartridge........2000-12-15

The printer works pretty well for an economy model but one of these cartridges prints at most 50 pages. That is about 40 cents per page for the ink; I will never buy Epson again!!

Great drive until I got bad blocks.......2002-06-04

This drive worked great for me for 1.5 years. It's fast and very QUIET. The only problem is after 1.5 years of normal use, I got some bad sectors and I had to reformat a partition (C: unfortunately) to get them marked. IBM had me do a low level format which declared my hard drive a defective device. I got an RMA and am sending it back for a replacement.

Not recommended.......2002-02-15

In the first month of infrequent use, it constantly makes scratchy or "clinking" noises. Found bad sectors after a thorough disk scanning. It's not very reliable and just noisy when it's spinning. Fortunately I only use this drive for games and not for critical data, but I still get frustrated for losing my game data. Even though the scratchy sound seemed to have disappeared now that the bad sectors are marked, but there are still occasional clinking noises. This problems seems common in drives of this model even in other sizes (especially the 75GB).

This is a great solid product........2001-06-20

Hard drive technology keeps improving each year. IBM has been dominating manufacturer in this sector for last few years with advancement in technologies that were beyond competitions. You do pay 5-10% premieum on top of other brands but it is well worth it for its reliability and technology. This drive was no exception. I use it for probably most hard drive intensive task. (dv video editing) It performs admirably and reliably. What more can someone ask about HDD. (It is also far quieter than most 5400RPM hdd which is unusual for 7200rpm HDD).

Great Drive for a MAC.......2001-06-11

I installed this in my Mac (Starmax 5000). It replaced the original 2 gig IDE drive. Although the box and installation did not mention that it was MAC compatible - other Mac Sites have confirmed the its compatibility.

Installation was a snap, and the drive is very quiet and fast.

I grew up throughout the 90s as a big supporter of western digital drives and used them exclusively for every machine I owned over the years. I started with a 40 meg, moved up to a 540 meg, then a 1.2 and finally a 3.1 gig in my last machine. Last year i was building a new box and my 1.2 western digital died, which was the first time I had had that happen, so I decided to read around and try a new brand of drive, Eventuallhy I wound up with this IBM 30 Gig drive after lots of research and reading up on the drives available. Luckily for me, everything I had read before buying it was dead on.

The drive has been very reliable for the 8 months I have had it, always performing at a very acceptable speed, and doing so in a very quiet manner. After years of louder drives I was really surprised at just how quiet this drive was compared to my older Western Digital drives. With its ATA 100 interface the drive moves along really nicely, making the need for scsi in a home machine really something of the past. In a server based environment SCSI still has merit, but for home use the combo of speed and price that ATA 100 has is unbeatable. Ther are larger drives out now, but for the average home user 30 gigs is more than enough room, and for someone who already has 1 large drive and just needs a little more, the price on this drive makes it a great choice.
