HP 335 - Best Quality Pictures For The Price.......2007-01-13

I purchased this for myself since I did not want to keep up-loading and waiting on delivery of my pictures from some of those online retailers. Not to mention the price of those on-line retailers can be expensive. Plus I wanted a quick and easy way of making photos without using my computer.

This printer is very easy to use. Once set up, all you do is insert your memory card, select which image you want to print by scrolling up or down on the display, put in a blank 4" x 6" photo paper (preferably glossy, not matte) and push the print button. The quality of the prints from this printer is fantastic. As good, or better, that HP's more expensive models (HP 425 or HP 475) and just as good as some of Cannon's & Epson's more higher priced models. Absolutely one user friendly stand alone photo printer with great pictures.

It's small, lightweight and very compact. Design features are very functional and it looks really sharp.

The prints speed is a little slow and the LCD screen is a bit small, plus the ink cartridges may be a little expensive. But, I was able to print approximately 90 photos from the originally supplied cartridge. I expect to get a lot more photos when I replace this cartridge with another retail purchased one, because we all know the original ink cartridges supplied with most printers are only approximately 1/2 filled with ink. One thing to remember: DON'T buy any other replacement ink cartridges except the HP 95. And definetly DO NOT buy and refurbished or re-filled ones.

In the latest comsumer reports survey, this printer really scored well vs. some stiff competition. It ranked in the top 7 of 27 other different models tested. Finishing with an overall score of 65; an Epson model scored the best at 75 and a Kodak scored the worst at 37. This HP 335 even placed higher than the HP 475 ($230.00) and the HP 425 ($190.00) and at a better cost ($100.00). I purchased mine for approximately $80.00 from Amazon.com

Nevertheless, for the money and quality of pictures you receivce from this printer, it's well worth the money invested.

Poor quality prints.......2006-10-04

I recently purchased a refurbished HP Photosmart 335.
The printer was easy to select the pictures. The image quality looked nice, but the pictures smeared very easily. Any amount of moisture will ruin the picture. The paper feed mechanism was a little clumsy and was hard to tell how far to insert or slide the photo stock.
At 24 cents a photo, I would not waste my time on this printer. I returned mine the very next day.

HP Photosmart 335 Printer.......2006-08-17

This printer was purchased for my wife's birthday and arrived
in two to three days. Considering money spent the printer
works quite well. Pictures come out very good overall. An
HP 95 or HP 97 cartridge is used for color photos. It contains
three color inks but no black. Still, photos will easily
satisfy the average owner. An HP 100 cartridge can be used
for black and white photos. Yes, the color cartridge must be
exchanged for the black one when converting from color to
black and white and vise versa. Even so, we find the printer
fun and very simple to use. Just keep in mind that the price
of ink will soon exceed the price of the printer if used
often. What we do is use it for special occasions or when
the grandchildren come over.

A real winner for low cost portability!.......2006-08-17

Good printer for on the go. Take it with you on vacation, business trips, wherever you might need a photo printed. It is a little slow to print (between 1 and 2 minutes per photo) and sure the paper and ink are a bit pricey, but all photo printers are. If you want cheap get your photos developed at Wal Mart or Target, but if you want convenience, a reasonable price, and the ability to print photos when and where you want then I'd go with this printer.

Have two of these cards for use in cameras and have had nil problems. They work as advertised. Given the popularity of 8 and 10 MP cameras, 2 MB or larger cards should be considered if you are traveling without a means to download the images. Also SD cards are small and can be misplaced easily.

I bought this to hold my photos from a recent trip and found it to be great and compatible with my Mac computer, which people claimed was an issue with the Sandisk. I'm happy with the value and quality of the memory card.

A good choice.......2006-01-10

If you don't want to worry about space on your memory card, then a good long term option would be a 1 GB card. If you are investing money in such an item that will be used for a long time you might as well get a good one, and this card is very good. The space is more than enough for my purposes (over 350 pictures at the highest resolution) and plenty of space for movies. Uploading one picture takes about 2 seconds making the whole thing very quick. I've only had the item for a week but so far I am satisfied. I'd recommend this card to anyone. It's got lots of space and is very fast.

Not Very Long Lasting.......2007-08-23

I had and used this little piece of plastic for a few months and put it in a drawer for another three. When it came out for the next use and a fresh battery installed, it was completely dead. Don't waste your time or money.

Nice little device with clear recording and heaps of recording time - some other things to be aware of though...

1. The recording level seems to be fairly low - unless you are speaking facing the microphone, you may need to download, convert to MP3 and amplify using a third party tool such as MP3Gain. This would be what I'd consider the main drawback of the device and lowered its rating from 5 to 4 stars.

2. Its very hungry on the battery usage, even with the backlight turned off - a single AAA battery doesn't seem to last more than about 2 hours recording time. Worth getting rechargeables. Forget about playing MP3s with it - you'll drain the batteries quicksmart.

In contrast to earlier reviews - I don't find the controls hard to use at all - I guess its just personal preference. Also I've found that holding down the < and > buttons allows fast forwarding, much like a tape recorder...

Things you might want to know before you buy ... .......2005-05-11

Irock 150VM is overall a good voice recorder -- compact size and decent recoder quality (much better than my now retired SONY recorder that uses small cassettes).

But here are the things that I don't like:

1. Be aware if you are going to use rechargable batteries: It is VERY HARD to put the rechargable battery (size AAA)into the battery chamber (only at a very very narrow angle.) The rechargable battery is just a little bit longer than the non-rechargable one -- but this makes HUGE difference because of the size of the battery chamber. This is obvously a design flaw. Even now I know how to do it, sometimes it still takes me more than 5 times to be successful which makes me feel very frustrated. It can be very bad, say, when you need to change the battery during recording an interview.

2. The design of control buttons is not convenient -- the buttons are on both sides, and if you hold the recorder with only one hand, it's easy to press the wrong buttons on the other side.

Handy little recorder & MP3 player.......2005-03-22

I really love my Irock combo voice recorder and MP3 player. The software is straightforward and easy to use. The features I love the most are: 1) its tiny size - fits in any pocket and you can carry it everywhere - it's about the size of a pack of gum; 2) the voice recorder - the sound quality is pretty good and I use it frequently. On the downside the erase function is a bit awkward to use. But this is a minor flaw in an overall excellent little gadget.

Great for recording meetings.......2004-08-24

This device has incredible reception capability. Put it in a large room with lots of people, and it picks up from across the room with ease. It stores many hours of interviewing. Is easy to transfer to laptop and listen there. Within the laptop, you can adjust where you want to start listening.

I found the features like bookmarks to be confusing, and can actually make it hard to find recordings. If you want to listen to a recording with the device, no fun as you cannot start in the middle or fast forward (but again, can when transferred to the laptop or PC). Software for this is solid.

I am a consultant who continually interviews and do not want to have to take too detailed of notes. This device is excellent for those who want high quality recordings. It would be easy to put in shirt pocket and record that way too.

For MP3, while it takes them, why bother.

It does have a speaker that works fairly well if 2 or more people wanted to listen to.
