Good Memory Card.......2007-07-24
This memory card seems to work quite well. I am not qualified to comment on its speed which is no doubt restricted by my camera speed, but it is as fast as my other cards from different manufacturers. My other cards are 256 MB so the 1GB size gives me more freedom with video clips and less concern about the number of pictures I am taking. All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase.
Use it on my Canon Digital Rebel.......2007-07-08
This card has plenty of room for the novice use of digital equipment. On my camera it has not failed to store great images. After a few weeks of good testing, I would recommended this particular product for similar use.
very good.......2007-05-13
My husband bought this as a gift for me and I find it very good!
Great Card.......2007-04-11
Very pleased with the item. The prices have dropped for these & this was an exceptionally good buy. Amazon was quick & kept me informed of where my package was until I received it. I would buy from them again.
Fast.......2007-04-05
I can shoot 30 consecutive frames with lightning efficiency. Wonderful choice for if the size fits you.

Customer Reviews:
Can the card keep up with you and your camera?.......2006-07-06
With fast shooting high mega pixel cameras, the CF card can be a major performance factor. Why have one of these cameras and use a card that cannot keep up? When I bought my 8.2 mp Canon 20D, I decided it was time to get a second CF card so the research started.
The Ultra II cards write with a minimum of 9 mb/sec. and read at 10 mb/sec. These fast write speeds are desirable with large image files. There are cameras with buffers to hold images while writing to the card during continuous shots. At some point if the card cannot write fast enough, your camera will stop shooting until the buffer clears enough room.
This card has a high impact rating. For example; if you were to accidentally drop this card 10-foot up to then hit the floor, this card is rated to sustain the fall without damage.
Sometimes the trade off on price comes from power consumption. Lower priced cards may use more power to do the same job as this card. The low power consumption of this card means a longer battery life.
People generally want to know how many images a card will hold. This is a difficult question to answer and greatly depends on both the card and the camera it is used in. The number of images this card will hold on my 20D also depends on the settings used. Let me provide a few settings and image counts for an idea of what this card holds.
Shooting Raw w/ISO 100 - 110 images
Shooting Raw w/ISO 800 - 102 images
Shooting Large jpeg - 239 images
Shooting Medium jpeg - 413 images
Shooting Small jpeg - 725 images
I use both a 1GB and a 2GB card shooting primarily raw images. Sometimes the 1GB card is more than adequate, but other times I could easily fill the 1GB card quickly. There have been many days where I have taken 200-300 pictures without the opportunity to transfer my images. The 2GB card not only gives me more storage space, but also permits me to change the card in a slow moment before it completely fills up. It is truly aggravating to lose a shot because your card filled up. For these reasons I tend to prefer the 2GB cards. When considering the card size, one should attempt to balance convenience with capacity. Having one card for all your images may be convenient, but it is also putting all your eggs in one basket.

This is a pretty good card for the price........2007-08-23
Bought it for my used Canon S230 elph that I got a good deal on ebay. The old camera also takes pretty nice videos, and I needed a larger than normal compact flash card to store them. This has been working great so far, yet cheaper than most other CF cards I've seen at this capacity.
UPDATE: Bought this card 8/06/07 for $14.73 total, including shipping and handling. Just noticed that the price has gone up significantly since then :(

Amazon.com Product Description
Featuring a compact, vertically aligned body to go along with its potent 10x optical zoom, the GR-DVM76U is a great buy for those in need of portability, but who don't want to sacrifice quality.
Lens and CCD
Really, the two central components of any video camera (or digital still camera), are the lens and CCD (the image sensor). This JVC model builds around a 10x optical zoom, which is paired with image stabilization to cut down on the shakes and jitters common to most amateur video footage. The CCD sports a pixel count of 680,000--great for video--that translates the image into the digital video standard of 520 lines of resolution.
Digital Still Mode
Most digital camcorders these days come with some sort of digital still mode. The resolution is usually fine for posting on the Web, e-mailing to friends and family, and making small, snapshot-sized prints. The 76U is no exception; it snaps stills at the 1,024 x 768 level, and records them onto an included 8 MB MultiMediaCard (also compatible with SD memory cards).
Cables and Connectors
The GR-DVM76U comes with what JVC calls a Jack Box that exists simply to provide the ports most people want to use when connecting their camcorder to various video display devices. This is a nice approach, as it cuts down on the amount of space needed for this type of thing on the camcorder itself. The Jack Box features a USB port, which is used to transfer digital stills; AV ports, which are the traditional RCA-style connectors used by many VCRs and televisions; and an S-video port, which is a video-only port, but transfers video at a higher level of quality than traditional RCA-style connectors. On the camcorder itself is an IEEE 1394 port, which is also known as FireWire or iLink. FireWire enables lossless transfer of footage to a computer for editing purposes.
Included with the 76U is an AC power adapter, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, remote control, 8 MB MultiMediaCard, software (CD ROM), Jack Box, USB cable, and an AV cable.
Customer Reviews:
this camcorder has weak points.......2003-05-01
I don't want to talk about good points for this camcorder here. I just want to point out some weakness.
1. still picture qulity is poor, much poor than you expected.
2. night alive mode is absolutely useless. this camcorder doesn't use infrared tech like most other camcorder using for night mode, instead it slow shooting speed so that it makes video pirture very blurring.
3. this cam is not cheap.
So if you want to spend [money] to buy digital camcorder, I don't recommend this one.
The Perfect Beginner's Camcorder.......2003-04-27
I bought this camcorder (Not From Amazon. I bought it cheaper) and it's my first camcorder. What a camcorder it is!
1. It's incredibly small. You can palm this camcorder easily.
2. It's light. You can carry it around in your pocket, without it weighing you down.
3. The ease of use is brilliant. You don't even have to look through the user manuals, because it's so simple to use. The buttons are places perfectly, so it's not difficult to press.
4. The "Extra Features/Special Effects" on this camcorder is very nice. You can shoot in widescreen (Which I love), have different type of faders (For instance, fade in black), you can shoot in different lighting that it will adjust automatically for you, you can also edit your footage as well.
5. You can use this camcorder as a digital camera as well. It comes with an 8mb memory card, but the quality of the still photos isn't top notch. They are a good "Email" quality, but nothing worthy of printing out. This is very typical on MiniDV camcorders with the "Still Photo" feature.
6. The video quality is quite good on this camcorder. The 10x optical zoom looks very good, and the sound is good as well. The mic is on top of the camcorder, so it does pick up a lot of noise sometimes, but when you do mean to talk while it's recording...it picks it up very nicely.
7. The "Night Alive" feature isn't that great. It's actually very useless. You're suppose to use it for when you're shooting in very dark enviroments, but when you use it, the shutter speed is so slow, it's very difficult to shoot, and the quality isn't that grand, if you ask me. So, don't bother using this feature and shooting in pitch black.
Overall...I had this MiniDV camcorder for about a week now, and it's great. I love the size and shape of it. It's very simple to use, my dog can even use it. Also, if you have a Mac (Like me), it works very well with iMovie. (You're going to have to buy a firewire cable though).
