I absolutely love this product! I bought "online" the Kodak easy share camera and printer dock, thinking, its not that much money and I'll take a chance. Boy was I surprised at how easy it is to use and how convienient it is to print your own pictures at home, and all I have to do is get more paper and print away. My buying process was so easy and it came without any problems. Opened package, and started printed away. thank you for this. Seems like when you buy some things you have to fight it all the way and it isnt this way with this product. I WILL buy again. And soon..........

The paper/toner combination makes prints that are indistinguishable from those obtained from the local photo processing store. Pictures have a color depth and detail that are not present in any inkjet prints that I have tried. The photos emerge from the printer dry and glossy with a protective overlay. Prints are equally good with either the Kodak camera on the dock or when printing from another camera using the PictBridge interface or USB interface with my computer. (And the print process is fun to watch as the individual colors are laid down.)

FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE COMPLICATIONS IN THEIR LIFE, THIS IS THE PRINTER TO HAVE. IT CAN PRINT FROM A DOCKED CAMERA, OR FROM THE COMPUTER WITH THE SUPPLIED CABLE. IT MAKES BEAUTIFUL PRINTS AND THE PAPER AND INK CARTRIDGES ARE REASONABLY PRICED FOR THE AMOUNT OF PRINTS THAT CAN BE MADE. Kodak Easy Share G600 printer dock.......2007-06-10

Intially, the printer worked just great and the pictures always turn out great when it works. After printing less than 10 pictures, it stopped working when the printer ink (film) stuck to the picture. The ink cartridge wouldn't come out and the pictures wouldn't come out either as the ink film was stuck to the picture. I finally just tore it all out and hoped for the best. I replaced the ink cartridge and tried printing several pictures and they came out blurred. I let the printer set for a couple of weeks and thought I'd try it again and it worked fine and has continued to work ok.

I had one of the old printers that I threw away as Kodak was charging a repair fee that was equal to the cost of a new printer. That printer had less than 20 prints made and was pure junk. I didn't learn my lesson as I have always liked Kodak.

G600 Printer Dock review.......2007-06-06

I have had major problems with this printer dock. I purchased it brand new and have already returned one to the stock for an exchange. Unfortunately, the second one is experiencing the same problem. The printer chews up the ink cartridge. Immediately after installing a brand new cartridge, the printer chews it up and sends an error message to replace cartridge. I would never advise anyone to purchase one of these printeres.

i got the printer dock just last chritsmas and was very happy with it. it printed amazing quality and was very easy to do. after a few months it got really jammed up and took in 2 pieces of paper at once. i thought it was my fault because the paper was stuck to the other paper and i diddnt seperate them before. i went to the store and they replaced it no problem. then today i finally found out how to print off the computer (wich even on eseyshare it thought it was a normal 8 1/2x11 and only printed part of the picture) when i got it right it got jammed up AGAIN with only one paper too! once is okay, just a small problem, easy to fix but twice in a row with 2 different printers i think it is just a poor design. the people with good reviews probably only had it for a short while or was lucky enough to get one that worked. this is a bad product i am getting my money back!

On the recommendation of a photographer friend, I bought this along with the Kodak C875 camera. I wanted a smaller, easy-to-use camera and printer that would produce high-quality, permanent photos with or without my computer. At the moment, I'm using it without my computer, so I can't comment on the software, UBS connection, etc.

This produces terrific, durable, quality photos, and the camera and system are easy to use, once you figure them out. As with most electronics, the instructions are minimal and not very well written. Troubleshooting, online or not, is annoying and unhelpful. I'm moderately electronic/computer literate, although definitely not a technogeek. But I can fix basic stuff on my computer, security systems and programs with online help--I should be proficient enough to benefit from Kodak's online info. Instead, after fishing around and not getting what I needed, I relied on trial and error. (Kodak, are you listening?)

Like another reviewer, I've had trouble with the paper feed. The first time I tried to use it, the printer kept signaling that there was no paper in the tray, regardless of how much or how little paper I put in. I almost sent it back based on that problem, but kept it, hoping it was a one-time thing. That problem has resolved somewhat, but the paper still doesn't always feed properly, and sometimes needs a bit of a push into the feeder.

Even so, I'm impressed by the overall quality and ease of use, especially at such a reasonable price. Cartridges are easy to handle, and printer/paper cost is less than that at a photo-developing service, especially since you only print what you want. It's so small, it invites you to take it along to parties, family gatherings, etc., and it's hard to beat the instant gratification of nice photos to send home with guests. Plus, it just looks cool when it's printing--very entertaining for anyone who hasn't seen it before.

If I could, I'd give it three and a half stars based on quality of prints, ease of use and portability. Kodak is on to a great concept, but still has some work to do. But I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, and buy this printer/camera again.

An easy review.......2007-01-11

I have a P880 Kodak camera. This Easyshare Printer Dock (Plus series 3) is the perfect partner to the camera. I find that it is easy to use and produces high quality 4 X 6 pictures. All I do is set my camera in the tray and either transfer the pictures to my other software or make great photos right then and there. When I got this from Amazon I took it out of the box, plugged it in, and I haven't looked back. I'm very happy with my Easyshare Printer Dock Plus Series 3.

Prints great pictures, easy to use.......2007-01-08

We got this printer dock in a bundle with an Easy Share camera (C643)earlier this year. This was our first experience with a printer dock and we've been happy with it. It's super easy to print high-quality pictures right here at home.

We've since added another Easy Share camera (Z612) to our household and have used the dock to print from both cameras. It's easy to switch from one camera to the other - just remove the plastic "foot" for the camera and snap the other one on the dock.

We've not used the WiFi option, nor is the printer dock connected to our computer, so I can't comment on those particular options.

We've noticed one little glitch with the dock - every once in awhile, it seems to not recognize the camera. For example, if the camera has been off the dock and it's put back on, the dock doesn't "power" the camera. We've fixed this by unplugging the dock for a few seconds, then plugging it back in. When it's plugged back in, it'll go through its start-up and works fine. This is certainly not an everyday occurance - I'd venture it happens maybe once a month or less. And even though it's a bit annoying, it doesn't really decrease our overall opinion of the printer dock.

The EasyShare printer is, in a word, awesome. Despite a few minor flaws, it essentially solves the basic problem of digital photography, namely that we all have hard drives crammed with thousands of images and no actual physical photos. (Remember, the kind you can put on your refrigerator and mail to your mom?) And it solves this problem affordably, at about 29 cents a print once you factor in the cost of paper and cartridges. But most important of all, the quality of the photos it prints is eye-wateringly good.

Kodak Xtralife coating

Kodak Xtralife coating makes prints waterproof and durable under typical home use.
The EasyShare is a snap to set up, even for dedicated technophobes like myself. You simply snap the pieces into place, dock your compatible Kodak camera, and press the print button. Printing itself takes about 60 seconds. The 4x6 photo paper passes back and forth through the printer four times, allowing you to witness the application of each primary color and a final, invisible protective coating. Does it really deliver archival quality, as claimed? There's no way to know for sure until a few decades have passed, but the colors at least look sturdily vibrant and crisp. The print quality is in fact much higher than what I have come to expect from the drugstore for my film camera prints. The contours are sharp as a knife, the contrast pitch perfect. At the push of a button, you can get multiple prints (two, six, or nine) on a single sheet, which is perfect for making wallet-sized snaps of the kids.

Among the above-mentioned minor flaws, number one is paper jams, which happen every eighth print or so. The jams are solved easily enough by unplugging and plugging the unit back in, but are still annoying. The second problem is that printing from a PC is not nearly as smooth and easy as printing directly from a Kodak camera. Installing the included software is easy enough, but trying to print from my hard drive was a lesson in frustration. To get around the PC quandary, you can print directly from any PictBridge-enabled digital camera or from SD/MMC cards using the built-in card slot.

Quibbles aside though, the EasyShare printer dock is essential for anyone wishing to to complete the digital circle from virtual pictures to real-world photographs with glorious color and razor-sharp detail. --David Stoesz

Never has been reliable; will not pick up paper and YES, it was loaded correctly. The only thing it is good for is to charge the camera.

My Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock has never worked right. Paper won't feed, tons of paper jams, says low ink when it's a brand new cartridge. I think I've printed two pictures on it that came out right or did not end in my wanting to throw it out the window...Overall, poor product and it's my fault for waiting past the warranty period to return. I'll never buy Kodak again.

You can do better with a different brand.......2007-05-08

Printer driver reports incorrectly the remaining number of pictures you can print out of cartridge. I had a 40 print cartridge that was reported "empty" after only printing a handful of pictures following an operating system crash on Windows. I found a workaround, but if you are not inclined to troubleshoot and keep track of how many pictures you've printed, you are going to get ripped off. The printer paper/cartridge combo is not cheap.
Software on Windows 2000 is terrible. When it comes time to upload pictures on the fly from your camera the auto-detection of the camera or the memory card does not work on 2000 unless you unplug and re-plug the device. Auto-detection works slightly better on Windows XP. However, you still have to remove the card from the camera and insert it into the Printer Dock. You can also opt to connect the camera directly to the usb port with a separate cable. You cannot set the camera atop the printer dock and upload pictures that way.
My first unit died after a simple paper jam. It is no longer able to print. I had to get a second unit because I did not want to buy another camera.

The only thing positive is that it prints nice pictures. But again is it not what one would expect of any devices of this type?

My next camera/Printer dock combo is not going to be a Kodak, I can tell you that for certain.

I used the software which came with this printer dock.

IF YOU DELETE, PICTURES will NOT BE in the RECYCLE BIN to UNDELETE, once you press delete, there is NO WARNING, poof, your selected pictures are now unrecoverable.

SADLY, I attempted to get help from KODAK who after one "form" answer saying to "look in the recycle bin" then they simply dropped me. no more response.

I will never buy another KODAK product and am Not using the camera or dock I have now for fear of losing more precious photos.

They apparently overlooked the testing of that function..... the sad result of a Analog company trying to go Digital...
