I bought this for my mother who enjoys having a radio built into the phone she uses in the kitchen. she has had this same model for the past 7 or 8 years and it is an "OK" phone for the old technology I suppose.

This phone is worthless. The phone does not have a back light, so you cannot read the incoming phone number, or dial in the dark. The clock is on an angle that you have to stand over it to see the time. Frequently I cannot answer a call, or dial a number, as the "Talk" button does not work to answer the call and or open the line to call a phone number. Don't buy it. Unfortuantely my 30 day return limit is past, so I am just out of the money and will now have to go buy a new phone!!!

The phone is almost unusable. The volume, even on highest level, is too low to hear. The clock is not lit so that it can be seem with out fumbling for a small button at night.

You get some decent features for the money, but the clarity of phone calls is really terrible when compared to the best digital cordless phones. My cordless Panasonic from the early 90's sounded better than this.

I did have the trouble with the phone the previous reviewer had. I took it back with in a week and the store replaced it with another. It has worked fine with no problems. The range was not the best so that is why I give it a 4.

This phone has terrible intermittent reception. It will be totally clear one minute and then progressively get worst until you can't even carry on a conversation. I've had it for about 3 weeks and it's going back!!

I'm disappointed with this phone. The sound is hollow, kind of static-y. Even with the volume turned up to the max it is sometimes hard to hear the person you are talking to and I have never had a problem with other phones. I'll probably buy another phone. The ring is annoying too.

This phone had all the features I was looking for, I thought. However, when I received the phone and hooked it up, the time display is not illuminated! How is one supposed to see the time? The other problem was that the alarm clock does not work. Additionally, the radio is tuned by a dial, which is old technology. I will be returning this item and continuing my search.

I bought this phone and was so disappointed because it had great features, and then believe it or not there was no light for the clock. I sent it back thinking that the light must be broken, because how could someone make an alarm clock you can't see the time, but the second one was the same.

And trust me, i've had some bad phones. The sounds quality is horrible. It sounds like the person you are talking to is in a tin can about 5000miles away. The answering machine has even worse quality. I have 15 messages and I have no idea who they are from. Save yourself the trouble, never buy this phone.

Not happy about this phone.......2004-09-02

I bought this phone two weeks ago. Each time I tried pressing the talk button on the handset to place a call, I would get a message "Try Again" on the screen. So I am not able to use this phone. The worse is that the technical support from Northwestern is very poor. I tried to call them many times. I have not been able to get through. And they don't answer messages I left there. I tried email. I got a reply after four days. But the reply is not helpful. Anyway, I am very disappointed with the phone and their services.

(...). I got this phone because of electrical interference and this solved the problem fine. The ONLY thing I have a problem with this phone (as with most ALL LCD phones) is it doesn't have any back lite and it's really hard to see who's calling. As far as the volume problem stated in another review, the highest setting seems to be loud enough for me personally.

the volume on this phone is not very good at all.
I cannot hear anyone very well. It isn't extremely user friendly either. This phone is fairly worthless because I cannot use it at all because the volume is awful. What good is a 2.5 mghz phone when you can't even hear someone. The page isn't very load either. I rate my old 900 mghz phone better because at least I could hear someone talking on it.

Not worth the space it takes-this "space-saver"-is wasted space.
The Crappy sound from bad speakers,poor tuner,and the CD player that will not play some new bought CDs not to mention most MP3 CDs will make you forget about the near impossible to read,un-intuitive controls needlessly spread randomly about the front of the unit.
I would have sent it back but someone tossed the box.
Too bad,I could have used the box for something.
Sometimes you get less than you pay for.

Never could get good reception no matter where we placed this in the kitchen. Just last week the CD player quit working. It actually just spins and spins forever initializing the CD. Save your money and buy a different brand/model.

This product will meet the needs of someone who wishes to play a cd. If you want radio with tuner selection, you need a slow finger because there is no readout on the LED of what you are tuning. You need a magnifier and a strong light to see the tune dial and a hope that you reconize the station...

I know this is not the highest-end product on the market, but I needed something to fit a specially sized space -- which it does. It fits, it looks very sleek, everything works great, basically, I'm very happy with it. It was easy to install. I have had no trouble with it. I like the way it looks in my kitchen. I hope it holds up for many years!
