Nice CF Card.......2004-09-04

Amazon gave me this card along with my new digital camera order,and I have had it for a month or so. I have not had any problems with it, it was fairly cheap, and the speed seems to be okay. I reccomend it for anything except recording full 640x480 video at 30 FPS, because since this isn't a high speed card, when I tried to record at that quality and resolution, I only got about 15 or 20 seconds of movie recording time before the card got too slow. Other than that, I like this card and reccomend it

I love this thing it doubles the storage capacity for my nomad 2 mg. With the built in 64megs of internal memory my mp3 player holds about 30 songs. I was plannin on buying the creative labs flash card but this one works fine and its a whole lot cheaper. The only thing I found annoying is that the mp3 player seems to lock up occaisionally, the lcd display gets stuck on one display and the only way I could get it fixed is by removing the batteries and placing them in again. Its only happened to me a couple times since I installed the flash card whether its a fault of the Creative Labs software or hardware or the flash card I cant be sure but its only a minor nuisance and I dont mind putting up with it considering I saved a (lot) by opting to go with this one.

Viking makes a good reliable product, at the lower (value) end of the price scale, making it a good purchase value. I use it on a digital camera, and transport it to a laptop. Also makes a good replacement high-capacity floppy disk between laptops. Why should I pay 2x as much for more well-known CF memory when Viking probably manufacturers it? Highly recommended.

I use CompactFlash for most of my digital cameras, and I've become a fan of the Viking brand. However, I still buy by the dollar-per-meg calculation. Currently, this number should always be less than 1. It is curious that the prices on these cards may fluctuate by as much as 20% in one day! I suggest you find the card you want and track it a while. This particular card comes with a great extra at no extra charge: it includes an adapter for your laptop's type II/III slot, a nice touch. [BTW, 'lagniappe' is N'awlins for 'a little extra')

This 64 MByte CF card is a great value since it includes the CF to PCMCIA card adaptor. Many other CF manufacturers want this much for the CF card alone! I bought this CF card for use with a new Canon S-110 for storage of high-res photos. But I also use it for storing MP3 files in my Casio Pocket PC, and now with the PCMCIA adaptor I can use it in my laptop too!

I was looking for a spare Compact Flash memory card to use with my Nikon 990 and IBM ThinkPad. The cost per megabyte for the Viking CF64M-ADAPT is good, but the real star is the included Compact Flash Adapter.

I had been using a Sandisk Parallel port adapter, which works reliably. But when I plugged the my memory card into the Viking PCMCIA adapter, then plugged it into my laptop running Windows 2000, it was recognized straight away. Not only that, but the performance just blows away the parallel port adapter. Now I can load 10 MB of pictures in seconds instead of minutes.

Great Product but who really needs it?.......2001-01-01

I bought this product for my Dell and it has great picture and sound quality and runs CD-rom 3D games as good as any. I don't know why I bought a 64 MB cause nobody really needs that much, but it's kind of worth it. If your a gamer who is looking for exceptional speed and crisp sound and clear movies on your computer, then you should really check this out.

This headphone extension is perfect! It is not as long as described (about 15 feet) but that's O.K. with me. The connections are tight (the plugs don't pull apart). It maintains sonic quality. It also retains it's elasticity. Using this extension cord my Grado SR-60's sound better than any wireless phones. You won't be dissapointed!

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Lexar Media 512MB Memory Stick Duo Pro, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I just purchased the Linksys CF card for my IPAQ. The Driver for Pocket Pc 2003 isnt on the install disk. You have to download it from a ftp site at linksys! Problem is that the BETA driver isnt there! They put there ad that it is for 2003 but it isnt! Good luck in getting the driver!

I received this about a week before my Dell Axim... I couldn't wait to try it out. I installed the software - the Pocket PC sync'd up - slid in the card and I was off. I have a Linksys wireless access point in my apartment and it detected it immediately. Makes the whole idea of a pocket PC worthwhile - you can browse web pages (on a small screen), send & receive POP3 email (with attachments), Instant Message, etc. Can't wait to try it out on a public access point (like in bryant park). This will be another Linksys product that I recommend to my customers (and the Axim is pretty sweet too - not nearly as bulky as I thought it would be).

As some other reviewers mentioned - it does drain a battery.

I purchased this card with my Sharp Zaurus SL-5000D. I know that the Zaurus has the drivers already installed for this card so I plugged it in and it was up and running in no-time. I have a Netgear MR314 wireless router and it has no problems working with this card. The speed is great, although I never actually measured it, but many of the websites come up pretty fast. The only downfall to the card (and all other compact flash wireless NIC cards for that matter) is that the unit drains batteries too fast. It eats up a lot of juice and forces me to plug in the charger. The range on the unit is not as good as I hoped, but my router could also cause some problems. So far this is the only wireless CF card I tried, but I'm happy with it.

All-aluminum cases usually go for much more than this. This one is admittedly not "all aluminum" but it IS very sturdy and can be sectioned with velcro dividers. It has lots of room for an SLR and several lenses, flash, various filters, and enough room left over for film and batteries. The case is relatively light, and easily carried with the shoulder strap. I have a couple that I store and carry part of my collection of vintage cameras in. I think it gives you a lot for the money.

Looks Nice But Not Solid Aluminum.......2006-03-30

I was initially rather pleased with this case. It looks very nice and appears to be somewhat sturdy. The interior of the case can be sectioned with velcro dividers. It has ample room for an SLR camera with battery grip and medium zoom lens attached as well holding a long telephoto, a fat wide-angle lens, a small prime lens, a teleconverter, a small flash unit, various filters, a remote shutter release, a camera strap, an extra rubber lens hood and perhaps enough room left over for a few rolls of film and some batteries. The lid fits well and the latches works smoothly and can be locked. The case is relatively light and includes a nylon shoulder strap.

I downgraded my initial rating of this case, however, after discovering that the aluminum exterior is actually little more than thick textured aluminum foil glued to moderately thin (wood? plastic?) panels. The workmanship of this AS-AM medium attache style case is good (and definitely superior to that of the extra-large Hakuba AS-LL trunk which had severe buckling issues with the aluminum cladding) but it remains to be seen how durable this type of construction - aluminum glued to light panels - will be in the end. I've already noticed areas where the textured foil has been flattened/dented just from placing a camera on the lid with a hand strap mounting screw attached to the bottom of the camera.
