Disappointed.......2007-09-21

I was very disappointed in this bluetooth. I bought it because it was inexpensive, and figured Motorola is a decent brand. Well, I hated this bluetooth. The biggest complaint is the voice is too low, so it was difficult for people on the other end of the line to hear clearly. Adjusted volume did not help much. I'm now using a Sony Ericsson, which works great.

Works great with my Motorola V3T RAZR, great sound quality, others can hear me fine even when not near my phone. My voice dial on my phone reconizes my name dials 99% of the time even when in the car on the highway. And reconizes Digit Dials about 80% of the time in the car and 95% in a quiet room, even if it doesn't get it the first time it is usually only one ot two numbers it missed. Great headset, particularly with my phone, and hasn't dropped once yet and have used it a lot since I have got it. Still figuring out function key, but pretty easy to use.

Nice design, easy to use. However, unless I was holding the phone by my head within 1 foot of the headset, the sound was terrible, and all broken up, which was pretty useless. I had to return it.

Not too impressed.......2007-09-23

It is a good blue tooth, but I can't say that I am overly impressed. It sits on the outside of your ear, not too firmly. Therefore while driving, and turn your head quickly, it shakes itself loose and is annoying. The range is not too good as well. I get alot of interference when my cellphone is in its holster on my belt. I usually have to bring the phone closer to the headset to get good reception. I also tried using it as a earphone for an mp3 player/PDA I have. The sound quality is not good enough to listen to music. Otherwise, it is OK. I had a moto bluetooth I bought a few years ago, and I am just disapointed that its performance has not chnaged much.

I received the product a few weeks ago, I immediately realized that it was not going to sit well on my ear and ever since then I have had trouble hearing from it. I have to consistently push the bluetooth headset towards my ear to hear better. I should have gotten the plantronics!

This headset seems to be the "preferred" headset of my friends. However, whenever I'm not in a dead-still silent room, people have told me that I'm completely unrecognizable. This is especially the case when I'm in my car. Granted, I drive an Acura RSX, which is not known for its quiet ride, but nevertheless, I need something better. I tested it out once, listening to messages that I left on other people's voicemails, and it sounds like I was in an underground cellar surrounded by lead.
So if you're going to be using this *only* *only* while in a dead silent room, this is the way to go for ease of use.
If you're going to use it any other way, try something better. I still am personally researching what a good headset would be. I may try the plantronics 510 or another more expensive plantronics. I hear that the Jawbone sounds good but is very poorly constructed.

I find the Motorola H500 is best suited for quiet places. I always wondered why people went around screaming into their headsets. Now I know, in a crowded or noisy place the headset seems to pick up all sounds making it difficult to continue a conversation. But for home or the car it's great.
One tip from me: Don't buy it from Ace Digital, they sent me a used one. The one I bought directly from Amazon is great.

Even though this product seems a little outdated in its appearance, I have been pleased with it. It was good for the price. I use it in the vehice and when I am in my apartment. It frees up my hands to drive and also to multi-task at home. Some of the reviews complain of not hearing on it very well. That was a concern of mine when I bought it, but I haven't had much trouble with the hearing it at all. There have been only a few times. Other than that, it fits on the ear pretty well (although this is my first bluetooth product). Overall, I have been pleased.

Unreliable product, unfortunately.
The on-off switch to the Bluetooth is wildly inconsistent, sometimes it will work and other times it won't. Sometimes it won't turn off no matter how many times you press the "off" switch. I put this piece of junk away and will buy a better, more reliable piece.

I've been using the device for three months after I broke a Scalia headset. The device pairs quickly and easily to my RAZR V3. It is a bit difficult to get the thing on my ear at times but once it's on it stays there. The sound quality is okay, not as good as the Scalia. I've never been told in all the times I used it that I could not be heard. So I guess the microphone works well. Overall, for the price, it's a great purchase. You can spend more for others and probably get better features and reception but if you only need it while in the car or when shopping it's well worth it.

Básicamente el auricular es bueno, el problema es que corresponde a una generación de celulares descontinuada. El cargador vigente es el mini USB y este auricular emplea la entrada anterior de Motorola por lo que nos obliga a traer 2 cargadores portátiles y dos para el carro. Por otro lado, es bastante más grande que los de modelo reciente y algo estorboso.

The company I got this from advertized red, without consulting they sent gray. They could be color blind, or just didn't care. It did work properly, but wasn't red. If you need a red one, go to where you can see it first.

I bought this Bluetooth, since my phone has a funky adapter for headsets, and it limits my choices. I have had nothing but troubles with this headset. First off, when I put it on my ear, it is not adjustable at all, therefore does not stay on the ear very easily (and definitely don't wear glasses with it). Second, when I use it the people on the other end told me they hear this high pitched noise that becomes annoying quite quickly. Third, the people on the other end also told me that I cut in and out constantly. These last two make for an impossible conversation. Definitely not worth the money.

Also, it did not come in original Motorola packaging even though it was "new", yet you were not told this on the page about the product.

Good with cell phone, my PC can't detect it.......2007-05-16

Something is awry with Amazon's database. This item appears on different pages, I guess for different vendors that sell it.

I got the headset and USB adapter to use with VoIP on my PC. The headset did not have any setup instructions. The USB adapter's CD had only drivers, and the packaging included a one-page Motostart guide that's like a cartoon strip. After installing the drivers, when I unplugged the USB adapter, my PC crashed -- DOS error message. Had to power down, a serious error. This happened every time.

I followed another reviewer's advice and looked on Skype pages (search for bluetooth headset). Those tips (most recent was from 2005) caused crashes too. I should browse Microsoft's site to see whether they now have downloadable drivers for bluetooth audio devices. The drivers that came with the USB adapter is waaay below Motorola's expected product quality.

My PC cannot detect the headset. For bluetooth devices, the PC detected itself and my cell phone which was 50 feet away, but not the headset which was within 3 inches of the PC's bluetooth antenna.

So, I can use the headset for talking on the phone, although the voice quality was so-so. Abandon using the USB adapter. Oh and the power plug to charge the headset is European standard, with a US adapter.

And what's with the pricing? My husband got the nickel colored one, I the pink. Didn't know there was a light green one or I would have gotten it. All the same model number, H500, but the prices vary by nearly fifty dollars. Weird.

This is good product, but the setup necessary to get it going was not effective until I visited the Skype website. This step led me to disable the computer's microphone functions in order to get the headset to work. After that the thing worked very well. I like being able to move around and talk on the phone and it works well with XM over the computer as well.
A good purchase.
