My wife and I really love watching movies and documentaries together at home; so we shopped for a full day in the television department of a major home electronics retail store, allowing ourselves to fantasize about owning the cutting edge large flat L.C.D. screen televisions and extravagant home theater systems. After comparing all of the picture qualities, screen sizes, sound capabilities, programmable features, and absolutely lastly price, we felt that the RCA 32V55OT 32-inch television was undeniably the best of all worlds and the most practical unit for meeting the needs for information access and entertainment in our lives. After comparing all of the products available in the television department and making this purchase I really felt as though we should leave quickly because we had taken such great advantage of the store. For only several hundred dollars we left with a television set that can provide us with as much or more viewing pleasure than those units costing ten, twenty, or thirty times as much money. Get real! We have owned it for more than one year and used it originally supported by a cable system and presently use signal from a satellite provider. We also watch a lot of movies and documentaries through our Sony combination DVD/VHS player, all with wonderful results. It was extremely easy to hook the television and peripherals up ourselves, without having to study the owner's manual before hand. Initial programming was so simple that I wasn't even sure that I had done it. The features menu is extremely user friendly even though I access it so infrequently. We have not experienced any problems at all with this television and consistently receive a very clear, sharp picture with very good, natural color. The television turns on instantly and the built-in sound system is startlingly good. At times I find myself looking around the room to see where sounds are coming from. Because the television is physically quite large we purchased a simple wooden corner stand and wham; all we see is a beautiful picture surrounded by a thin strip of silver on each side. I would confidently make this purchase again and highly recommend this television to anyone else who's shopping around. We're buying some extremely comfortable rocker/recliners with some of the money that we saved on this purchase.

I've had this TV for a little over a year and so far I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I read some bad reviews before I bought it and purchased the 4 year warranty, so I can't say I'm too worried even if something does happen.
The picture quality is exactly what I would expect from a 32 inch CRT television. The sound is above average and the way the speakers are placed, there have been times I actually got a surround sound effect and had to look around to see where the sound was coming from.
My only complaint about the TV is that it takes a little longer than the average TV to turn on. I timed it just now and it takes just under 10 seconds from the time you push the power button to the time you see the screen light up.
It's kind of silly, but one of the reasons I bought this specific TV was for the Vport slot in the back that lets you connect your Xbox directly to the TV using only one cable, but then I never got around to buying the $30 Vport cable. Go figure...
I recommend the TV and also recommend the 4 year warranty just in case the other reviewers are right :-).
The WORST TV Ever!.......2005-12-31
We have had this TV for two years... first the sound started to go, then the control board on top of the TV, and finally the tube...BLACK.
Thirty-two inches of static.......2005-12-09
I do not recommend this television. I bought one (the 27" model), brought it home and right out of the box it did not work. I took it back to the store, decided to go with the 32" and the extra four year warranty. Lucky I did (the warranty that is) because it is now about a year later and this tv is busted. When I would switch from the DVD to television (or vice versa) the screen started having some trouble converting over, spawning fun little static-like lines. I could hear the audio of whatever I was watching, but the picture would be effed up. I am wondering why manufacturers of electronics are purposely making their products shoddy. I mean, I don't need wonder too greatly...they are greedy, greedy piggies who want to increase their assets. But I will never buy another RCA product again thanks to this wonderful television.

I have this TV and it currently is being used as my cats pedastool. This TV is great when it works! The picture is bright and vivid, sound is great.
When it doesn't work, most of the time, the picture jumps, turns to black and white, sometimes there is no picture; black screen with audio.
I recommend going with another TV. This one is too frustrating to deal with and not worth the money.

I bought the RCA F27650 27" TV and the sound stopped working within the first 4 months. I took it to an RCA approved store to fix the problem. They kept the TV for over a month before even getting back to me with an estimate. They never attempted to contact me, and I had to call several times just to find out what the problem was. The parts were all covered, but just the labor alone was going to cost me as much as the TV cost origionally. I am now the proud owner of a soundless TV that is of no use except for keeping up space in my shed. I will never buy an RCA again.

Well, I bought this tv based on the reviews on this site.
I do have to say that the reviewers are very easy to please.
Anyway: this tv DOESN'T look like a flat screen at all, the picture has a clear distortion converging to the center of the screen - the horizontal lines next to the borders will look curved-.
Quite disappointing since I have a panasonic way older (not a flat screen) that displays better images.
I will try to change it.

This TV is not only a great bargain on price and quality, but has a great look ..many friends who had seen it think is actually a flat screen TV, and actually looks even larger than normal 27"..the only downside is that it has a poooooor TV Tuner reception, so if you get this TV you should get cable or satellite service!

I do not own this TV, and since the previous reviews were of no help, I have to ask these questions to other people who own this TV:
Does the V Port provide a picture quality that is significantly better than a regular S-video plug ???
This TV seems like a great buy since it also has component plugs which are great for DVD movies. But it is not truly a HDTV. It is considered to be an "analog" TV. So should I buy this analog TV, or should I buy a true HDTV ???

I've had this TV for two plus years and love it. The picture is beautiful - not stretched, muted, soft or swimming with digital mosquitoing like most flat screens I see on the market. In fact, I chose it over a flat screen for the same price because the picture was that much better.
Two weeks and then POOF!!!!.......2005-05-04
Bought this exact model at another retailer (CC). Had it for two weeks and to tell the truth was very impressed with picture and sound. Then one day the screen flickered and that was all she wrote. Thank God for extended service warranty! not that it did much good. Retailer came and got T.V. and said "be ready in about a week" in the mean time had to go back to my 25" that I have had for ten years and have had no problems with. Needless to say a week went by and no t.v., called retailer said two weeks to get parts bad controller board is what they diagnosed the problem as. To make a long story short two weeks came and went and after countless hounding phone calls I was finally told that the t.v. was a lemon and that I could come and pick up another one. When I arrived they had a brand new t.v. waiting for me to pick-up (are they nuts do they honestly think i'm going to take another lemon from RCA, i think not). I made them take back that monster and give me another brand (Apex TruFlat 36").Have had the Apex for almost a year now and am very pleased. Picture and sound are just as good as my ol'RCA, although it is not a major label in the electronics world it sure beat the RCA's two week tube life and is better than having a $600.00/300lb. paper weight that is supposed to be your pride and joy T.V.
Bad TV.......2005-01-29
This TV is a joke. The specs provided by RCA are not correct for this TV. The dimensions are not remotely correct. The picture is terrible. It failed after 2 months and the factory does not respond to the warrenty. Their technical assistance department is almost non exisant but consists of housewives working out of their homes that don't know an RCA jack from a coaxial connector. Go for this TV at your own risk because when it fails you are totally on your own.

Wonderful Monitor.......2007-01-10
This replaced a smaller NEC monitor and is everything I expected. Built in speakers aren't great but weren't as bad as other reviews led me to believe. Very adequate for most purposes and the screen is excellent. Nice looking silver and gray design instead of black or beige.
Great monitor, but uses power brick and DVI cable not included.......2006-04-09
The monitor is classy looking and is well built. Great with (and next to) a Macintosh. However, a few gripes: supplied cables don't match the monitor - black - and also of inexpensive, inflexible variety; a dvi cable is not included - this is ridiculously cheap and stupid; power supply is not built in - bad for a gorgeous monitor of this class.
A big step up from a 15" CRT.......2005-04-11
I bought this a few months ago, and was immediately impressed by the space savings on my desk. I agree with another reviewer that the speakers are weak. I got a DVI cord and a video card with DVI inputs, and found the differences distinctly better than the VGA.
On the side of the rebates, when I bought mine it had 2 rebates. The first one came through right on time after 6 weeks. The second took a phone call, then wait another 4 weeks for the check. I make a point of keeping copies of my rebates, and it paid off for me.
Is this the best 17" LCD, no, is it the worst, definately not. I feel this was a good value for the price after rebate. Add to it the shipping was fast.
One last point: the control buttons are quirky, and takes some time if you want to mess around with the settings.
I CANT BELIEVE THIS PIECE OF JUNK..............2005-03-24
Ok I have to addmit it did look kind of sexy on my desk before it broke. heres the story, I bought this screen a couple months ago the first week it was great but then the screen bacame dim and lifeless. It flickered on and off. My screen has now become completely dead. Ive tried everything I could to fix it i even hired a professional. There is also the fact that though it may look sturdy it actually has tipped over quite a few times for me. THINK BEFORE YOU BUY THIS JUNK! AND DONT BY IT.
Great Monitor but not rebate.......2005-02-24
This is an excellent monitor. I've been using it for over 3 months and I love it. Color and clarity are great. Played with computer game without ghost. There is no apparent difference between DVI and VGA although I'm using DVI right now and I had to purchase DVI cable separately.
Rebate sucks. I have filed twice and so far rebate claim is still not in their system. I'm not quite certain if I'm going to get the $90 rebate eventually. otherwise this is a pretty expensive monitor.
Think it over before you buy.
