Amazon.com Product Description
For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.
With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You'll never need to use a dedicated "landline" phone headset again.
The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from wi-fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you'll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset.......2007-09-24
Works well, easy to configure. Make sure you keep it charged adequately else it will keep shutting down without any warning!
Great Product!.......2007-09-24
This is my fourth Blue Tooth headset, and I am very pleased with it. I had one other Plantronics and two Motorola's. I drive a truck occasionally and people always complain that they could not hear me, just all the noise. This headset only picks up my voice, even with the window down people can hear me clearly! I had spent quite a bit more for the previous headsets. What a great find on Amazon for only $50! I learned about this product from a friend of mine who also drives a truck. I am so glad I found it. A truly outstanding device, well worth the money!
Multipoint Technology - Where?.......2007-09-24
I bought this headset specifically for its ability to connect to multiple devices (phone and laptop) at the same time. However, it doesn't seem to, pairing with one device always loses paring with the other. The Plantronics documentation (user guide included with the device as well as what I can find on their web site) doesn't even mention multipoint.
plantronics voyager 510.......2007-09-23
after doing much research i really like this headset. i can hear the person i am talking to clearly and the other person can hear me well. very satisfied.
Plantronics Voyager 510: finally bluetooth excellence.......2007-09-22
After trying several major bluetooth headset manufacturer brands, the Plantronics Voyager 510 performs excellently. Callers on the other end of the conversation can hear me without static. The multipoint capability allows almost flawless control over my Nextel Blackberry and my Pocket PC phone using just the one headset for both. This eliminates the need to have to choose which phone to use with the headset. This is the best bluetooth headset that I have ever owned.

Customer Reviews:
good value.......2007-09-19
I've had the JBuds for nearly a year now, and they've held up well. I would say that the noise reduction is decent, but not as significant as with my battery-powered Sony MDR-NC6. Very comfortable and good quality manufacturing.
better than advertised.......2007-09-19
total noise reduction with excellent sound quality. You also get more than one cap for the head phones.
Very comfortable, accomodates all ear sizes........2007-09-17
I really like these ear buds. They are very comfortable and you can change the piece on the ends to fit the size of your ear. Three size choices which makes these very practical. With a good fit you will really get the best sound quality possible.
Best $20 ear buds.....EVER!.......2007-09-15
These are amazing. Forget the price tag (which itself is a bargain), these ear buds sound really good. I did a side-by-side comparisons with Apple (in-box), Creative (in-box), Phillips noise reduction and Sennheiser PXC 250 noise reduction and I could not believe that JBuds sounded better! The ambient noise blocking is pretty good too. However, I am not sure how well it will work in a plane. The in-ear fit is pretty comfortable. Although no audiophile, I am pretty fussy about my sound quality. JBuds definitely made me happy.
Somewhat better than average.......2007-09-14
The JBuds are an economic choice with reasonable performance. Their main weakness is overall frequency response which seems weak in higher frequencies. The ear buds are advertised as "noise-reducing", chiefly because the interchangeable caps are designed to fill the ear canal and block external sounds. The JBuds are nominally effective at this goal. Also, it took several days to get used to the feeling, because they rest in the ear canal, not on the outside. Incidentally, I have a Samsung MP3 player (which I love). The Samsung ear buds that came with the device were superior to the JBuds. In summary the JBuds are fairly good, especially considering the price.

Amazon.com Hands-On Review
The Motorola HS850 is the company's update to their HS810 headset, one of my personal favorites. The changes made to produce the new HS850 are few, but the effect is relatively substantial. But first, let's start with what is the same.
Like the HS810, the HS850 makes use of a body design that employs a folding microphone boom. The folding microphone boom acts as the on and off switch, as well as just providing a convenient way to make the headset smaller and more pocketable when not in use. When a call comes into your phone, you can turn on and answer the phone at the same time just by unfolding the microphone boom. You can end the call and turn it off by removing the headset and re-folding it. Using the headset in this way conserves battery power, since no battery juice is wasted on standby time - time where the headset sits around waiting to be contacted by a mobile phone or other compatible device. The physical design of the HS850 and the battery savings it imparts is my favorite aspect of the Motorola HS850.
Of course you don't have to remove and turn off the headset between calls. If the headset is already on when an inbound call comes, you will hear the ringing come through on the headset and can answer it by pressing on the main multi-function call control button. You can end the call with this same button, and adjust volume levels with the two volume buttons. If you are using a phone that supports the Hands Free Bluetooth profile, then you can also use the call control button to reject an inbound call or redial the last number.
The HS850's audio properties are also like those of the HS810 before it. The audio quality in both directions is very clear and understandable, but sounds a bit thin. You and the party on the other end of the call will both be able to understand each other easily, it just doesn't sound as full and natural as it might with some other headsets. The HS850 makes up for this small lacking by having great resistance to wind noise, though. That makes the headset perfect for people that enjoy driving with their windows down, or those that work outside. Most headsets are very susceptible to wind noise, the HS850 bucks that trend.
And now for the new stuff. First up, a more powerful battery. The HS850 I tested managed an amazing 7 hours and 50 minutes of talk time. That is a full two thirds improvement over the older model. The truly amazing part is that this new battery life didn't come at the expense of added weight. Like the HS810 before it, the HS850 weighs only .7oz (19.9g).
The next major change perhaps sounds more important than it worked out to be in reality. The HS850 supports the newer Bluetooth v1.2 spec, whereas most headsets support v1.1 only. Motorola claims that when used with a v1.2 compatible phone (there are still relatively few available at the time I write this), the HS850 will be able to connect faster, use less battery power, and offer improved audio quality. While I can see what appears to be a slight improvement in connection speed, I haven't really noticed much of a change in battery life or audio quality.
The last major change is purely cosmetic. The new HS850 headset is blue-gray in color, like a darker version of the HS810's color. I find it more attractive than the light silver found on the HS810.
But regardless of the color, you can't go wrong with Motorola's HS850, which I consider to be perhaps the best value on the market.

Customer Reviews:
Battery life ~40 mins for mine.......2007-09-23
I probably got a defective HS850, but its battery life is really short. It needs to be recharged even when off (after about 3 days sitting there it's flat), and the talk time is 40 minutes tops. After what I paid for this when it just came out (August '06), I expected far more from a Motorola product. Sound quality and connectivity to my LG CU500 is fine, though. I wish it had a mute button---I'm replacing the headset, and it's one feature I will be looking for.
Disappointment.......2007-09-21
I was extremely disappointed to find when I purchased this item that it did not work. As soon as I plugged it in to charge it never took the charge, on top of which the seller tells me to return the item ( not offering to pay for the cost of returning it )and they would replace the item, the reply to my initial complaint took 3 days, I wouldn't say I would not recommend the item, but I would not recomment the seller
Motorola HS850 Bluetooth Headset.......2007-09-17
I received a Motorola HS850 Bluetooth Headset a couple day before, but it
did not work at all when i used it first time. Then I request it,but Amazon still did not respond to me.
Not what I expected from Motorola.......2007-09-17
I have to say that this was a big disappointment. This is my first bluetooth headset and if this is the way they all are .. its not for me. It seems to be fine for me and I am able to hear people very clearly but others say that I am very broken up, almost like a bad speaker phone, where parts of the words are missing. I would think twice before purchasing this item due to this problem. I have a brand new phone and had it checked out and they said it was the headset. It might be just defective or maybe this is normal who knows. I will have to try others to be convinced on this bluetooth technology.
Leftover.......2007-09-14
Seems like for the good price, you get the leftover gear. They sent me a left-handed set...which can be switched around, but the buttons are reversed. Also, the battery life is terrible and it just cuts out in the middle of conversations even though the battery still has charge in it...usually just after charging. I think for this price, we're getting the factory rejects.

Customer Reviews:
Terrible headset.......2007-09-24
First the headset wouldn't charge and the new set (the vendor was great and sent me another one) sound was so soft, no one could hear me (nor I they). It really needed a better ear piece and/or a hook to hold it to the ear. It fell twice out of my ear and I was afraid that I'd lose it.
May be small but delivers!.......2007-09-24
I wanted this headset because of its small size, and it indeed is very compact and light. The sound quality is good, after an hour or so the headset begins to hurt my ear, battery life so-so. Overall if you are looking for a small bluetooth headset this will fill your needs.
Uncomfortable.......2007-09-17
What a pain ... I have small ear canals and the earpiece was extremely uncomfortable due to its size. With a poor fit, the headset kept falling out of my ear. Returned for full credit.
Good small headset........2007-09-16
I bought this to use while driving. My car is a stick shift so its easier to use when driving. call quality is good. no problems hearing or being heard. very high quality.
Painful in Ear.......2007-09-15
Does not fit comfortably in my ear and causes pain after wearing for too long. The sound is good and it connects quickly with my phone.

Customer Reviews:
Bluetooth carrying case.......2007-09-22
Nice case because it makes the bluetooth easier to find in my house and in my purse BUT the only negative thing is that if the case is pressing against something then it causes the bluetooth to turn on and waste its battery when I need it.
Motorola Headset carrying case.......2007-09-21
I love the carrying case. I never lose or misplace my headset anymore. I just clip it to my purse so I always know where it is.
Very Happy.......2007-09-07
Very happy with this product. Was going to buy from phone store and the price was more then 10 times what I paid here. It was a great deal!
Wish I had ordered more for friends.......2007-09-05
best thing I have bought in a long time. Allows for protectiion of the headset when not in use. Great for purse or in the car. All my friends are always borrowing it when we are out. Will order more as gifts.
Turns on Bluetooth.......2007-09-04
This item does not work well if your Bluetooth is thick and short. (I do not remember the model number of the Bluetooth.)
Customer Reviews:
Okay, definitely not great.......2007-09-21
Like others, I think the best thing this headset has going for it is its noise cancellation technology. Unfortunately, it seems that Aliph spent so much effort on this part of it that they forgot quite a bit of other qualities that are important in a good Bluetooth headset.
Examples of what's missing:
There's no way to mute a call from the headset. You have to use your phone's mute feature.
There's no audio alert when the headset connects with anything. There is one when it loses its connection, though, which is good.
If you go out of range of your phone and it loses the connection, it makes no attempt to re-connect. You have to turn it off and turn it back on when you get back within range.
The volume control is primitive, and it's obvious this is because Aliph was overly concerned with the aesthetic design of the thing (I happen to think it's ugly, but they seem quite pleased with it). Because the visual design doesn't leave open the possibility of having volume up/down buttons, instead you can only cycle through the six volume levels in order. To go from 5 to 4, you must first go through 6, 1, 2, and 3.
The charger is . . . weird. Lots of people complain about it, and with good reason. It's non-standard, and it doesn't even fit the Jawbone that well. You have to position it *just* right, and then when you set the thing down it loses its connection, so you have to set it again. It's really kind of inexcusable.
It's enormous. This is the biggest Bluetooth headset I've ever owned. That said, it's not uncomfortable to wear - but I do find I have to use the earloop, which I tend not to like so much. I also, like others, don't use the earbuds supplied with the Jawbone; I use a Jabra Minigel with mine instead.
The good:
It's noise cancellation really is pretty good, but it's not as good as their demos make it out to be. I think those demos were very carefully set up to favor the Jawbone, because I've left myself voice mails with various sources of noise in the background just to see how it sounds, and I can generally hear them. They're faint, but they're certainly not gone (I can often clearly hear the lyrics in a song playing in the background, for example).
It also seems to have better range than most Bluetooth headsets I have experience with. I can walk surprisingly away from my phone and still have a connection, and I don't lose the connection if the headset is on my left ear and I put my phone in my right pocket, which is a common problem with many other headsets.
Are these good enough to make up for all of its shortcomings? I'm not so sure. To be honest I'm seriously considering sending mine back where it came from and getting another Plantronics (I was mostly happy with my Discovery 665), or I may do research into some other models. I may also elect to keep the Jawbone, but I'm not leaning that way.
My recommendation is that if you're going to buy this one, buy it from somewhere with a good return policy (like Amazon). You may decide you like it (there are certainly those who love the thing), or you may not.
Update: One thing I meant to mention and forgot to is that, aside from its noise cancellation, this particular headset has about the best sound quality of any I've ever used. They definitely got that part right.
And while I'm here, I should say this: This is widely considered to be the best Bluetooth headset in the world right now, so don't be afraid to try it out. Just because I'm not a huge fan (I don't hate it, though) doesn't mean you won't be. I'm really not unhappy with it, I'm just not as impressed as I'd like to be - but I'm also very picky. Try one out and decide for yourself.
ALiph Jawbone.......2007-09-21
Well for the sound quality in the car it is great. Go out side and this thing goes to crap. It picks up wind noise and starts breaking up on both ends. I also had the ear loop break off at the base. I guess thats why they give you 4 ear loops because your going to need them. I tryied to contact the Company with no luck of any return calls. I hate to say it but buy something other than this item.
Jawbone Rocks.......2007-09-17
Aliph Jawbone Noise Shield Bluetooth Headset- Grey
I have or have had one of every type of bluetooth device made. I currently have four that are operational. The Jawbone is the best for the call receiving party. I can be in the gym with weights clanging in the background, or in my car, with engine noise and wind noise, or in an echoy stairwell -- in all cases, the call receiver says how amazingly clear and not garbled the Jawbone is. My only complaint is that the ear hangers don't fit quite right. For the jawbone to work, it needs to rest snugly against your cheek. And I find the hangers just don't fit the best.
But for overall sound quality -- sending and receiving -- the jawbone is #1.
And it has a good battery life -- a plus.
Crashed and burned.......2007-09-11
I was very excited about the Aliph Jawbone when I first used it. Alas, although it may block ambient environmental interior noise, such as music, or nearby conversations, it does NOT block wind noise, causing crackling on both ends of a conversation. If you are outside, forget it. Additionally, the ear hook snapped off at the base, leaving a piece inside the unit. Emails to the company were unresponded to. For $100 and two month's usage, this is spectacularly disappointing.
Good. It delivers what promised.......2007-09-06
It does reduce noise as perceived by my interlocutor. I use it and I like it. It delivers what promised.

Customer Reviews:
Disappointed.......2007-09-21
I was very disappointed in this bluetooth. I bought it because it was inexpensive, and figured Motorola is a decent brand. Well, I hated this bluetooth. The biggest complaint is the voice is too low, so it was difficult for people on the other end of the line to hear clearly. Adjusted volume did not help much. I'm now using a Sony Ericsson, which works great.
Great looking product.... average quality.......2007-09-19
After a couple of weeks of using this product, i experienced static and horrible sound quality .At times I had to move into a spot so that the static would subside. Overall, i liked the look of the product but didn't like the quality
Worked great with my Nokia.......2007-09-08
This headset worked great with my Nokia earlier however I recently bought a blackberry and havent been able to hook it up with that...I have tried everything possible to make it work with my blackberry pearl...however it doesnt seem to work...hence 3 stars..
Great headset for the price........2007-09-05
Works great with my Motorola V3T RAZR, great sound quality, others can hear me fine even when not near my phone. My voice dial on my phone reconizes my name dials 99% of the time even when in the car on the highway. And reconizes Digit Dials about 80% of the time in the car and 95% in a quiet room, even if it doesn't get it the first time it is usually only one ot two numbers it missed. Great headset, particularly with my phone, and hasn't dropped once yet and have used it a lot since I have got it. Still figuring out function key, but pretty easy to use.
No clarity with Samsung m300.......2007-09-01
Nice design, easy to use. However, unless I was holding the phone by my head within 1 foot of the headset, the sound was terrible, and all broken up, which was pretty useless. I had to return it.
Average customer rating:
- first headset for dad (birthday gift)
- Worked poorly for a few months then stopped working
- Simply put...It performs like a badly designed prototype!
- Highly flawed, with a clearly superior alternative available
- WORST Bluetooth headset yet!

A dedicated pairing button makes it easy to connect the BT500 to your phone at a moment's notice. Plus, multi-colored LED lights provide Bluetooth, low battery, and battery charging status.
With eight hours of talk time and up to 240 hours of standby time, you can talk all day if you need to. As mentioned, you can charge the BT500 via a USB connection, or via an included AC adapter. Charging takes about two hours.
What's in the Box

first headset for dad (birthday gift).......2007-09-12
i'm getting used to it( the position on the ear)...talking with no hands great rating 3.5...it didn't hold in my ear far enough... I have to keep the sound up high or push it in sometimes to hear when talking. I like it with my phone(motorola razr)especially listening to my mp3 through the headset.
Worked poorly for a few months then stopped working.......2007-09-11
Cannot recommend this product. Never worked very well (a lot of static even when the phone was just a foot away sometimes). Now all it does is turn itself on and off and lock up my phone eventually. Totally worthless after a couple of months.
Simply put...It performs like a badly designed prototype!.......2007-08-16
The purpose for having a Bluetooth earphone is for convenience. In fact, it should allow you to place your cellphone within 6 feet, and give you clear and effective performance. Don't expect that from this particular model.
I put the unit in my right ear, put my Razor cellphone in my left shirt pocket, and guess what...I have severe static! That's a range of no more than 24 inches...and I promise, I don't have a metal plate in my head.
On top of poor range, the unit picks up ambient noise to the point that my voice comes across to the listener as "distorted, muffled or otherwise uncomfortable to listen to..."
I'm on hold right now with Jabra, and have been for 10 minutes, listening to background MUSAK! It's almost as annoying as using the unit! My last point of assistance will be to call Verizon; I paid $100 retail about 8 months ago, and was told I was getting the best unit they had. I'm old enough to know better!

OK...Last week, I chatted with a very sympathetic cust. srvc. mngr., who issued a return goods authorization. I shipped the unit back to Jabra in NH, and am expecting an upgraded version. While I didn't expect agreement that the 500 was inherently a bad design, I sensed that it was not up to their usual standards. I also own their bluetooth receiver adapter unit, which I've used with my hardline phone handsets. Since putting all my bluetooth aside early this year, I don't remember if it was any good? But then, the headset that transmitted to the adapter receiver was the BT-500, so I'll have to wait for the new headset to make any fair judgement.
Highly flawed, with a clearly superior alternative available.......2007-08-12
I used the BT500 with my BlackBerry for nearly two years before replacing it with the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset with Multipoint Technology [Retail Packaged]. At first I thought that the BT500's key limitation -- amplification of ambient noise -- was common to all Bluetooth headsets. This is why I persisted in using the BT500, even though people on the other end of the line would constantly tell me to call them once I reached a landline because the road noise was unbearable whenever I'd be speaking from a moving car. Then I thought perhaps it was my Volvo S70, which has a somewhat louder interior cabin than other cars.
Finally, however, I decided to try the Plantronics headset -- this has made all the difference. The complaints have ceased, and now people cannot tell whether I am in my car or not, even when I am at high speeds on freeways. One additional benefit is that the Plantronics's range is much greater; I can leave my BlackBerry in one place and venture quite a bit further than I ever could with the BT500, without experiencing any disruption in my connection.
The only benefit I see to the BT500 is that its slug-like styling is a bit cooler than the Plantronics, which makes you look slightly more like a customer service rep.
WORST Bluetooth headset yet!.......2007-08-08
We purchased 3 Jabra bluetooth headsets and all 3 are absolutely awful!
-Range is very poor. For example, if the headset is in your right ear and your phone is on your right side, it works. Move the phone to your left and it doesn't. Yet a "line-of-sight" connection work up to about 15 ft. Still, rather short for bluetooth...
-Signal to noise ratio: Dreadful! We had (and actually went back to) Plantronics 510's and their S/N is excellent. The Jabra's have constant crackling and drop-outs.
-Wind noise: The Jabra's are hyper sensitive to wind. I have to turn-off the air conditioner in the car or my callers complain about the "wind noise." Using the Jabra outside is virtually impossible if even the slightest breeze exists!
-Tech Support: Non-existent! The first week of ownership we emailed and called, and received no replacement product or even suggestions to correct the devices. ZERO!!!
-Connectivity: This was actually very quick and easy. And God knows we paired them with enough phones!
On a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being the best, I'd give the Jabra's a 3 at best. On the same scale, the Plantronics scores about a 90.

Noise shield that works.......2007-09-19
My wife and I both use a Jawbone. The auto volume and noise shield features are the best that I have ever used. Just turn it on and use it. The earloops break so have a couple of extras. Be careful when removing the charger. Do not pull off. Bend like breaking a pencil in half and the charger comes off easily. Even though I wish the Jawbone was a li
