Should you really "shake it like a Polaroid picture?"
Ever since the song "Hey Ya" by Andre 3000 of Outkast came out, everyone is shaking their Polaroid pictures. Shaking or waving a Polaroid picture to help the development process originated in the early days of peel-apart film. After peeling the negative, the image needed to dry before it could be handled, so waving the photo helped it to dry more quickly. When using the integral films (600, Spectra, 500, SX-70/Time-Zero, i-Zone) that are used in our most popular current camera models (Polaroid One, OneStep, JoyCam, etc.), the image develops and dries behind a clear plastic window and never touches the air, so shaking or waving has no effect. In fact, excessive shaking or waving can actually damage the image. Rapid movement during development can cause portions of the film to separate prematurely, or can cause "blobs" in the picture. The best way to ensure a perfectly developed image is to simply lay the picture on a flat surface immediately after it exits the camera.

just what the doctor ordered.......2007-09-21
there's nothing more fun than an instant picture, and this camera delivers. of course it's the only camera that does what it does, so not having any competition makes comparisons ahem, difficult. that said, the only thing that keeps me from snapping away more is the ridiculous price of film. but again, that's what happens when you have no competition. when is someone going to make a digital camera that prints its own pics? would be a killer ap.
Groovy version of an old classic.......2007-08-03
There are times when only a Polaroid will do, this camera is sleek and compact and super easy to use, kids LOVE it and it is great when you want to SEE the photo in your hand while on the road, the camera is a baragin but watch the price of the film it can get pricey if you don't keep your snapping under control.
Great Product.......2007-03-17
This camera works great. It stays in my car and gets bounced around a lot. I had a cheaper one (the basic polaroid model) and after any turbulace it would spit out 3 pictures at a time and none would turn out. At $1 a pic, that's not cost effective. I've had no problems with this and it works great everytime I've used it. Worth the extra couple bucks.
Love this camera.......2007-01-10
This camera is such a pleasure to use. In freezing cold or searing heat -which we have a lot of in this area - it keeps cranking out the pictures. I also have a couple of digital cameras, but when I want a picture without having to deal with settings and other distractions, this is the camera I use. Love it!
Polaroid One600 Classic Instant Camera.......2007-01-10
I have many choices of cameras to shoot from. But of all I own I love this classic Polaroid. It was delivered on-time, undamaged. I dropped the film in and started shooting pictures. Thanks to Polaroid for their consistently fantasic products. Thank you.

I usually buy photo supplies from B&H photo, but when i saw this deal i had to go with what amazon had. I think B&H's for 2 was $18.
Came on time, packing was clean (wasn't exposed to dirt, water or heat).

Best Birthday.......2007-07-30
I gave this cam to my 10 year old daughter for her birthday and she is absolutely in love with it. It has great and numerous fairly easy to use features and it has video. It also has music on it (I think you can download music of your choice onto it-gotta look that up) that will play during your slide shows. The batteries run out really quickly though so you are better off getting rechargables as soon as you can. I spent a day researching digital cams in our price range and this cute little number is a lot of camera for a little money!
Great camera, great value!!!.......2007-04-07
I looked at many cameras and many reviews before choosing this camera. I was drawn to its looks initially, but didn't want to get stuck with a lemon just because it was a pretty color. After lots of research, I decided to try it out.
The first pictures that I took with it were of some farm land right at dusk with the sun already behind a mountain. I used the "Night" mode and the pictures looked as though we were there in bright daylight! Even distant items stood out with great color and clarity.
It also has modes for portraits, children, sunsets, and so much more! I still can't believe how many features this camera has for the money.
The only thing that it lacks is a strong zoom, but, face it: that's what runs the price up on a lot of cameras. This camera gives you a whole lot of features at about half the price of other 7mp cameras.
THIS IS THE BEST ELECTRONICS PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!!
3 months and still going strong!.......2007-03-11
I bought this camera 3 months ago and I'm still AMAZED by it. The video is takes is fantastic, and the pictures come out absolutely AMAZING. I never have to adjust the flash or anything, it just focuses and does all the work. The LCD display is big and displays the photos perfectly, you can even zoom in to get a closer look. I've never been so happy with an electronics purchase.

Customer Reviews:
Horrible Quality.......2007-08-30
This was my first digital camera and I though I was getting a good deal because it was by Polaroid. Well, I was wrong and if this is the quality I get from a Polaroid digital camera, they need to stick to - well - Polaroids. Not only was the picture quality horrible, but the images took up so much memory I had to constantly upload the images to my computer before I left to go do something.
The battery life is terrible and to be honest, the charging dock is pointless when you can just plug it directly into your computer via cable.
It takes horrible pictures in the dark and the flash produces nothing but a blank, white image.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's you get what you pay for and a quality camera is going to cost some extra. I've since bought a Kodak digital camera for about $200 and it is wonderful! Don't waste your money on this sorry excuse for a digital camera, instead, save for a better one. Not even worth giving to a 6-year-old as a gift.
EDIT: I just now looked at the price on this thing. $100?! Are you kidding me!? I bought this camera at Wal-Mart something like 3 years ago and it was only $25! Even at that price it is a huge waste of money! I could have fed starving children in Africa! If you just want to get rid of $100, donate it to a charitable foundation, not to Polaroid!
Not worth the money.......2007-06-17
I got this free when I bought a laptop late last year, and even then, it's barely a value at that price.
As other reviewers have said, the picture quality (yes, at the highest quality settings) is barely better than the
<1 MP camera in my cheap-o cellphone. Whether using the flash or taking in a well-lit environment, you'll still need a rock-steady arm to avoid getting a big blurry mess.
I had hoped this little free camera, cute as it was, would at least help me get by after my old Fuji 3MP camera was stolen. I didn't expect it to match the Fuji's quality, but this extreme difference is inexcusable. Instead, I've gone back to using my 35mm film camera and scanner.
If you actually decide to pay money for this camera, well, I feel very sorry for you. Please spend a few bucks more and find a REAL camera...
Do Not buy this Camera.......2007-06-08
This is among the WORST customer service I have ever received in my history in the industry. The item was damaged. The company took calls on a what seemed to be a cell phone. It took a week to get an answer, they did not offer to make what was wrong right. They sent an invoice slip with no # on it or a return address. The associate was rude. You have been warned.
THIS IS ACTUALLY A DISPOSABLE CAMERA IN DISGUISE.......2007-05-11
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! IT IS ESSENTIALY A VERY EXPENSIVE DISPOSABLE CAMERA!!! I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT ZERO OR NEGATIVE STARS BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THAT OPTION!
I bought this camera about a year ago for my daughter because it is relatively inexpensive and Polaroid has been around a long time. The picture quality was pretty lousy, but that really didn't matter since it was for a child...BUT, right from the start the battery did not charge...we assumed we were doing something wrong, and recently the camera was completely dead...we tried to find out how to change the battery and ended up contacting the company...this is the reply we received:
Thank you for your recent email about your needs for service.
There are no replacement parts available for the iZone 300 Digital Camera, including batteries.
If you need to order a replacement part for your Polaroid product, please call us at 877-388-3779 during office hours.
When you call us, please give the service agent your EMAIL ADDRESS so they can find you in our database for prompt processing of your request.
Regards,
Polaroid Technical Support
Not only is it crazy not to be able to replace the battery in a non-disposable type camera, but then they tell me to call to order replacement parts that they just told me don't exist...
You're better off spending a little more and dealing with someone that supports their product, like Fuji or Canon...please beware!!!!
a complete disappointment.......2007-05-01
For years I have had my old Samsung Digimax 300 of 3.2 mp, And let me tell you that is a pretty good camera, I'm using even now, and the quality of the pictures it is great, so, when my brother gave me some weeks ago the Polaroid Izone 300 I was very exciting about my new camera, cos I thougth this one it could be the choosen one to replace my old camera.
But the whole thing it was a complete dissappointment, I mean, I can not compare the quality of the pictures of my old Samsung Digimax (it is almost 4 years with me!!!) with this new one Polaroid iZone.
So if you are looking for a new, cheap and good Digital Camera, I suggest to buy a Samsung Digimax, maybe of 5 mp, you can find it here, in amazon for less than US$ 100 I think... actually I am very exciting cos I am waiting for my new Sony Cybershot DH 2, a more powerfull camera than my old Digimax, so I think that camera will be a decent replacement of my old camera, but avoid to buy this one, trust me!!!
Amazon.com Review
Polaroid's i-zone pocket cameras produce tiny, high-quality Polaroid pictures about the size of a frame of 35mm film (or your average postage stamp). The i-zones use either sticky or nonsticky instant film, so you can put your pictures in a frame or stick them onto your notebook or CD player. While the cameras all have the same funky oblong plastic design, they are available in a variety of interesting color schemes. The silver edition is a solid silver color, while phat blue and fireball red are neonlike translucent monotones, and the jade version is two-tone with an aqua green front and bluish back. The camera turns itself off automatically after each shot to conserve battery power.
Each i-zone set comes with a camera and two AA alkaline batteries. Film is sold separately. Loading the camera is as easy as dropping the film cartridge into the back of the camera and closing it back up. The trickiest part is remembering to pull the film tab out in one fluid motion, without stopping--exactly like most other Polaroids. When you expose a shot and pull out the film, you get something that looks like a Band-Aid, with an image in the middle and extra paper on both ends. Just clip the extra paper off with a pair of scissors and you have your final product. Be careful not to cut into the actual photo as you don't want to give the caustic paste inside a chance to seep out and get on your fingers.
There are three exposure settings on the i-zone--indoors (with flash), outdoor/sunny, and outdoor/cloudy. Overall, the camera is probably best for subjects within 2 to 8 feet, although we took pictures of downtown buildings that turned out pretty well. The outdoor/sunny setting requires bright sun directly on the subject for a good exposure. Even if it isn't cloudy, try using the outdoor/cloudy setting if the subject is in shadow or if it is early or late in the day when the sunlight isn't at full strength. The flash seems to work best from about 4 to 5 feet away.
The best part is figuring out what to do with the miniphotos once you've created them. The options seem to be limitless, from decorating cell phones to putting them in miniframes to creating photo albums. These cameras are affordable, simple to use, and a lot of fun. --Walt Opie
Amazon.com Product Description
The Polaroid I-Zone Silver Edition pocket camera kit includes Polaroid's latest format of instant camera. It produces postage stamp-sized photographs, available with either a sticky or nonsticky backing, and offers a selectable built-in flash that automatically shuts off after each shot to conserve batteries. Loading the Polaroid I-Zone is simple, and using it is even simpler. There is no need to focus, the built-in flash fires automatically, and the camera is small enough to slip into a purse or the small pocket on a backpack.
Customer Reviews:
You'll Be Amazed at the Fun You'll Have with this Camera.......2006-05-20
If you are looking for a fun way to document your friends, this is it. Bring this i-Zone to your next gathering and you'll be amazed at how much fun you'll have with it. People will almost be waiting in line to get their photo taken! There is something very non-threatening about having your photo taken when it's on little miniature polaroid film with a sticky back. Even the people who will never let you take their picture will suddenly want a sticker shot of themself.
Polaroid really hit the goldmine with the i-Zone. It's an easy to use camera - just select your mode (indoors, outdoor/sunny, or outdoor/cloudy), point, shoot and then pull the strip of film out. Then voila! Your very own miniature print appears like magic right in front of your eyes.
Great Gifts for the Needy.......2005-12-16
I've been told by others who've used it for the purpose, overseas, that the little photos produced by these cameras are a wonderful and much-appreciated gift that produces a LOT of excitement in the kids in India and elsewhere who are in so much need that they're begging from tourists, but who are often being abused and exploited in order to make money for others. This is a gift for THEM; sometimes they'll have no other photo of themselves other than what you just took for them to keep for themselves or give to someone who cares about them. What a great idea ... I'm buying one for my upcoming trip. Something of lasting value; better than candy or money.
Instant Flashcards.......2004-05-12
I got this camera to make picture flash-cards for my autistic spectrum daughter. The pictures are small enough to easily fit a number on each page of her card book but clear enough that she has no problem identifying them. I highly recommend the i-zone, and the sticky back pictures are very convenient.
This is the perfect instant camera........2004-05-09
I highly recommend this i-Zone camera to anyone who wants to take focus free, good quality instant pictures. What you see in the viewfinder is exactly what you get (unlike other "toy" cameras where you have to guess what how your final photo will turn out). The photos come out crisp, clear and colorful.
This is a great camera to throw in your backpack and have handy at a moment's notice.
Fantastic little camera.......2004-05-04
Polaroid's i-zone site tells me that this camera is aimed at people at least fifteen years younger than me. Okay. Whatever.
I've been a fan of it since it was invented, and I still am, even though I own digital cameras five hundred times more expensive. Casual photos are all about what you can do with them. The i-zone doesn't just produce pictures, it produces toys. Give them to people. Stick them on things. Take one of these to the pub and you'll get people queuing up to have their picture taken. Send them on postcards - many times cheaper and more convenient than a pocket-sized printer and glue.
Basically this camera is perfect for grown-ups with lives, as well as teenagers. And it's not exactly expensive either. If you like taking spontaneous photos, this is the device for you. No other camera has brought me as much enjoyment.

Great Item.......2006-11-06
This TV(and all other Polaroid TV's that I have) perfroms great. I used to buy Toshiba only and pay twice as much. I have had no problems or complaints about this TV after using it for a few months.
Polaroid plasma .......2006-08-01
I just got it up and working, what a great picture, I have been looking at Plasma's for a while and this one looks better than many I have looked at, at close to twice the price. I might buy another one for my bed room. A plus

Customer Reviews:
For the price, it is a wonder. Does everything. Weight is about 8 ounces, under a pound. Very compact and light........2007-05-05
It does everything, but you need a PC to playback the sound with the video recording. Audio and video recording is easy. Can be used as PC cam. It is not too small so easy to hold and shoot, but light and nicely designed for the hand and for travel. Can easily switch between functions, delete images, safeguard images, work with images and flash. My photo tech said the photos look arty and professional at times. You can get many different effects by changing settings, which is easy to do. Can insert a SD card for huge number of photos on the road. Takes low light very well, even without flash. Auto features. I used it for 2 years and have some really fine and unique images. The downside: It can be touchy with lighting situations. Take care to avoid solarized images. Sometimes psychedelic looking poster images. Some people really like its color saturation. Have to set it for best pictures, even though it has easy auto settings, including auto flash. You can have lots of fun with it, but if all you want is snapshots, this is still worth the money until you can afford something over one hundred dollars. It does not eat up batteries the way higher end cameras do. Uses four triple AAA batteries. Very inexpensive to use. Dramatic non-flash pictures are possible.
not bad if your looking for a cheapy.......2006-07-11
i went looking for a cheapo digital camera. this turned out not to be so bad after all. its been the best. stills, video, audio, web cam, microphone, all in one. [...] bucks. what a deal. i love it.
Buying it was a big mistake.......2006-07-11
I'm so upset that I paid 70 bucks for it...it's not worth it. There are not enough features, the voice record doesn't work, and you can only capture images when they are standing still. You cannot catch anythign while it is in action or else the picture will come out blurry. Every time I took a pic with it, I had to adjust the lighting on my computer. The price is ridiculous and I would recommending everyone to save their money.
Actually too expensive for what it is........2006-02-03
I know this is one of the cheapest digital cameras you can buy. I got it on clearance at Target when it was really marked down. And I'm not picky about cameras. I always used to use $15 film cameras. But this camera is really not worth anything.
As soon as I opened the package I knew something was wrong. It's really light and plastic-feeling, like a toy. I shot a few pictures at the highest quality setting, from up close and at distance, with and without flash. When I downloaded them to my computer I was shocked at how bad they looked. Although this camera says it's 3.2 megapixels, I have to say I've seen photos of this quality from free webcams. The colors are all wrong and skin tones come out an unapealing yellow. The images are grainy. Without the flash, backgrounds are heavily shadowed. With the flash, the whole picture is white. In short, there was no way I could have used any of the pictures for any purpose at all.
I'm returning it tomorrow because I think it's a total ripoff, even at the clearance price. How much would I pay? I don't know, but the old, cheap, film cameras I used to buy are still much more useful than this thing. So you figure it out.
Don't buy it.........2006-01-02
This camera is really crappy. The only good thing about it is that it works, and it's kind of cute (despite being large).
The pictures are grainy and fuzzy and very poor quality. The flash sucks so I never use it - and in turn I can only take photos outdoors on a sunny day, because all the photos I take indoors turn out dark and orange, no matter HOW well the room is lit.
You have to press the power button REALLY hard to get it to turn on. Also, the battery compartment is poorly designed, and if it is touched when the camera is on, the camera will turn off! It's very annoying!! Not to mention it eats up batteries like there is no tommorow. I could dismiss the awful battery life if it took mind-blowing photos, but it doesn't (FAR, FAR from it.)
To sum it up:
Don't buy it. Seriously.
