Customer Reviews:
Very fast reader.......2007-09-21
I'm extremely happy with this product. It is really fast. I have not timed it, but it feels like 100 times faster than direct downloading from my Nikon D80. Definitely worth the money.
I Highly Suggest You Get This Reader.......2007-09-15
I am a digital photographer and I take a lot of images. When I am doing a photo shoot of an event I will more than likely fill at least three 4 GB compact flash cards each time. This card reader is a real life-saver for me. It's fast, it's mobile and it's just a very well built machine that can withstand a lot of use. I know, I've been putting mine to the test and it has NEVER let me down.
I haven't had a reason to try it yet, but there is some software that comes with the reader called, "RescuePro." It is for recovering images from a crashed card or if you accidently reformat/erase images it is supposed to help recover the lost images. KNOCK ON WOOD!!! I haven't had to use it, but I'm glad SanDisk includes it with the reader just in case I ever have the need to use it.
I highly recommend this reader. The price here on Amazon is a GOOD price for it and I'm very, very happy with my choice to get this particular reader over others.
Excellent card reader.......2007-09-13
This card reader is very fast... much faster than anything I've used before. If something happened to it, I'd buy another one right away.
Great Time Saver.......2007-09-02
This card reader cut the download time for my CF cards in half. With an 8 gig card that was taking more than a half hour to download with my old card reader, that is a major saver of my time. I'm probably going to buy at least one more so I can have one in my laptop bag and another on the studio computer. Great product that does what it claims. And it works faster with all my CF cards, regardless of manufacturer or card speed.
Not all readers are created equal.........2007-08-30
This card reader is really amazing. It sucks 600MB of images out of my Extreme III in less than 3 minutes. Of course, there are many variables (you computer, what kind of disk drive, how much memory..). But in my set up, the same 600MB took 25 minutes before with another cheapo reader. My laptop has a SD reader built-in, and this reader even beat that. Reading 120MB of jpegs was reduced to 5 seconds from 2 minutes. Buy it. You will wonder why you didn't.

SanDisk.......2007-09-16
I have two other SanDisk and they worked great. The pictures come out great and I have not had any trouble with them. I would recommend buying the Sandisk.SanDisk 2GB Standard CompactFlash Card
No problems.......2007-08-16
at all! Of course, I have yet to retrieve the photos and videos onto my computer.
Little bit pricier but works good.......2007-07-04
I was in a hurry to buy a 2GB+ compact flash for my canon digital camera. I found this item in amazon.com. At first, the rate looks good to me, so I purchased this item. But after couple of weeks, I found that the price that I paid was little bit pricier after doing some more price comparison. But the quality of the product is great. That's what really matters. SanDisk always makes good reliable products.
Plenty of space.......2007-06-30
Nice to have enough room for many photos on a long vacation and to also be able to carry along my address book and a few files.Great for transferring files between computers but works in my camera too, unlike my thumb drive.
Perfect.......2007-06-27
Prompt delivery. Exactly what I ordered. USed them on a vacation earlier this month.

Great product. Able yo use camera without changing card often. Helped to store loads more photos while on holiday.
Works Great!.......2007-07-26
This Card worked perfectly with my Fostex MR-8 Digital Multi-tracker.
I now have 383 Min. of Recording time for my music. Now I just have to buy a card reader so that I can use it as a mini-hard drive as well.
Great deal.......2007-06-02
High quality cards for a great price and very quick shipping -- I'm very happy! :-D
does the job.......2007-05-13
I use this media to save audio on my drum machine, a mpc 2000xl mcd. I wasn't sure if this size card and brand would work but it did, however I did lose 1gb of space what I formated the card on my mpc
great price does its job.......2007-01-09
See if you can get something like this for the same price anywhere else. It does its job just fine, and the value is outstanding.

Kingston 4GB Compactflash Card Ultimate.......2007-08-27
Great card... it is fast and cheap in price, a must have to go along with your Nikon camera, this card is built very tough, not cheap and flimsy
Tough review.......2007-08-26
The card works perfectly in the camera, the price was fantastic. The only issue I had about the order was the shipping process. Using usps shouldnt even be offered in my opinion. Mainly because the actual shipping of the product took a little longer then what usually occurs. But overall it was a good timeframe.
Failures do occur.......2007-08-25
I bought a 4GB ultimate 133x CF card. I tested it's speed and it seemed OK. I then loaded 3.5 GB and it took it. So I was convinced it was as described. I took other pics with my Canon 400D SLR and they were fine. I put the card in my computer to read my images and it asked if I wanted to format the card. I formated it and then re-formated it in my Canon to allow it to set up a folder DCIM. But when I tried to take pics, some of them were BLACK! Further card errors showed up and other Black files. They are going to repair the card or send me a new one. I am glad I was not on a critical shoot when this happened.

Comparable to Sandisk Ultra II.......2007-08-12
Works as expected -- has been dependable and speedy. I use a Canon Rebel XTi. I have a SanDisk 2GB ULTRA II and this card runs at about the same speed in the XTi (no noticeable difference) but is a little cheaper per GB and that also goes for the 2GB variety of this card. When I look to buy another card (within 3-6 months), if the SanDisk 2 GB Extreme III, 4 GB Extreme III, or SanDisk 4 GB Extreme IV hasn't dropped closer to the corresponding Kingston card prices, I'll get another one of these.
If I encounter any problems in the future, I will update this review.
Fast and Vast.......2007-07-31
This compact flash card works great with my Nikon D200. Though it is not listed in the camera's user guide, it does great. It is very quik both capturing pictures and uploading them to my PC. I am very pleased with the capacity of the card (over 625 pics in JPEG Fine), the speed, and the price.

Solid Product.......2007-08-27
The storage time is very fast, maybe 1 second depending on photo size. Also, others seem to have had errors with their cards, but I've been using mine regularly for 5 months and have never encountered any problems.
Card failed on first day of use........2007-08-09
This card didn't make it past day one with my new Canon Digital Rebel XT. I shot roughly 50-60 pictures, and then received a CF error on the camera. The images couldn't be read, and no more images could be written to the card. I formatted the card in the camera, shot some more pictures, and again, a CF error. I repeated the process a third time, and decided that this card was not going to be reliable. I was possibily just unlucky and received a defective card, but I have seen other posts where folks have encountered the same issue. I returned the card without hassle and purchased a SanDisk that hasn't given me a single problem.
Late delivery.......2007-08-09
The product is good.
But that delivery was bad.
It arrived at July 20.
It took about 2weeks.
Neither the fastest or most reliable..........2007-07-29
It didn't take long (about 5 sessions) before the CF card errored resulting in my loosing all of the images I had taken not once, but 3 seperate occasions. Granted, I was using a new camera (Rebel XTi) but I hadn't expected to loose images.
Thinking about it, I don't remmember if I formated the CF card in the camera I was using it in or through my computer. That would make a diffrence on my review.
All in all, there are x133 speed CF cards out there with twice the capacity for not much more. I recommend looking at thoes before getting this specific card.
Fast CF Card.......2007-07-23
I upgraded from a 512MB Kingston CF card (normal duty/use). This card actually stores images faster than the old card on my Canon S500 digital camera. Plus, the added space made the camera last all day without CF card changes (I was in another country without my laptop to upload pictures to). I bought 2 of these for a 2 week trip. It went well.

Nice Price--Fast Card.......2007-09-13
I use it for digital photography and I always shoot in RAW format. It can keep up with burst speeds, with minimal caching. For the price, you can't go wrong!
don't buy this.......2007-08-31
Kingston makes other cards which I suggest buying. This card is defective and has been discontinued by Kingston Tech. They were very nice and replaced the defective card for me no problem and in a short amount of time.
Kingston card failed after second erase.......2007-08-25
At first the Kingston 2 GB CF card (133 speed) worked well on my Olympus E-510. I used SHQ & HQ settings on my camera for the CF card and was able to take 800 photos in Alaska. After the first erasure (after downloading to a laptop) in SHQ I took about 300 shots (not including those I deleted as I went along. I reformatted and when using the card the third time, the card displayed a CARD ERROR message after about 10 to 15 photos. I had to reformat and tried a fourth time. Again, after even fewer photos, I had the same problem and had to stop using the card on my trip. I then had to rely on my two smaller 512 xD cards that I had from an older Olympus C-740 UZ--downloading them to a laptop. The xD cards were very reliable.
I would not purchase a Kingston again. If a family member did not have a laptop with them for downloading, it would have been a disaster, as I would not have had enough memory to take all the pictures I did.
If you are planning a trip to a very scenic spot (such as Alaska), I would not travel with less than 8 GB in the future--probably on 2 cards (4 GB each) in case of failure of one or on 4 cards (2 GB each in size).
I completely underestimated how many photos I would want to take--thinking I might take around 600 to 800. Instead I took at least 2000 and could have taken more.
Fast with LOTS of space.......2007-07-30
I'm using this memory card on my Canon Digital Rebel XTi. The memory card has NO problems keeping up with the Canon, even when I'm shooting several frames a second.
Even with the largest picture settings, the card is big enough for over 400 pictures. So I can use the card for over a week without having to download the contents to my PC.
I highly recommend this size for anyone who is thinking of going on a trip and wants the speed to capture that once-in-a-lifetime picture, and the capacity to store photos for a reasonably long trip on a single card.
2GB Kingston CF.......2007-06-29
This is a fast card and sells for a good price. The seller takes forever to send out the cards but the price is right and cost of shipping is good so all in all, a great card at a good price. You will enjoy this cards speed.

Customer Reviews:
It truly IS extreme.......2007-09-08
Now THIS is an upgrade! After getting a new digital camera I had been using the USB cable to transfer images to my Mac G4 MDD. I knew it would be slow, but what the hey. With the USB cable I was getting about 750-800Kb per second transfer rate. With the Sandisk Extreme reader I now get 33MB per second! YEEOWZA! This thing flies like the wind! 400MB of files blasted onto the hard drive in seconds! It was so fast I had to laugh like a madman. What more could you ask for, you plug the thing it, it mounts right up; no software to install or anything (not sure about the Windows world, though) and it copies files off the card like greased lightning. If you are impatient and\or value your time this little thing gets the job done. Your progress bars will actually make progress!
SuperFast.......2007-09-05
After getting sick of the SLOW transfer times of the digital images from my camera's CompactFlash card to my computer, I decided to step up to a firewire card reader. Here's my comparison of my "old" USB 2.0 unit to the new SanDisk Firewire Extreme card reader...
For testing purposes, I used 24 files (RAW camera images - Nikon D70) totaling 123.3MB, which were stored on a SanDisk Extreme 1GB CompactFlash card. Using a "Stor" USB-HUB Combo card reader (USB-2.0), it took 2-minutes & 14-seconds to transfer the images to the hard drive. Using the SanDisk FireWire Extreme Reader, I compared transfer times (using the same 24-image files) using both Firewire 400 and Firewire 800 on a Mac Pro (Intel). In this situation of comparing the two different firewire types, the transfer times were identical at 10-seconds. Comparing to the USB 2.0 unit, the SanDisk Extreme Firewire Reader was 134-times faster! Definitely worth the $65 bucks for the unit!!!
This is my first review - had to write something up since I love it so much:-)
Does not work on Laptop with XP.......2007-08-05
I have a 1394 4 pin port on my laptop and this does not work. I even bought a 1394b express card reader (for another $89.99) and this still does not work. Please try on your laptop before you buy. VERY DISAPPOINTING FROM SANDISK. They have clearly marked Windows support - looks like it works only with the Mac.
Does not work on laptops.......2007-07-04
Be warned, a fast transfer rate is all good but unless you want to lug your PC with its 6 pin firewire port around forget it. I am a photojournalist who works exclusively with a laptop and this product will not work on a 4 pin firewire port - which is industry standard and best practice. What the heck are Sandisk doing with this set-up? I will update this if I ever find a solution. Can anybody help me?
Sandisk Extreme Firewire CF Reader.......2007-05-31
I have a Nikon D200 camera and shoot in NEF mode which results in a file that is 15mb in size per shot, and purchased the new Sandisk Extreme IV 4GB Compact flash card. Even with USB 2.0 downloading a full card was a 10+ min chore no matter what I did. After buying the new Extreme Firewire Reader my troubles went away. I can now download a full card in around 3 minutes. The only thing about this card is you need AT LEAST a Firewire 400 connection or the newer 800 connection which is what I download through. If you use ANY compact flash cards, this will pay for itself in a short period of time! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Excellent Card.......2007-04-10
I bought this to go with a Canon Digital Rebel and it was love at first sight. It is fast and I have never lost a picture from it. One note for anyone considering this - copy the software off it to a dvd or something as I forgot to and after formatting the flash in the camera, I now don't have the recovery software that Lexar is now charging for. I love this compact flash card and have to keep my eye on it as my daughter is constantly trying to switch it out with a cheap one of hers.
Excellent service from Lexar.......2006-11-09
I own many Lexar memory cards and am very satisfied with their performance. However, I must add that LEXAR (USA) provides EXCELLENT service. I live in Cape Town, South Africa..... whilst I was formatting one of my LEXAR cards in my Nikon D70, I terminated the formatting halfway (accidentally).... card was damaged..... sent card to LEXAR USA after logging the problem in their website and within 10 days I had a brand new card couried to me by LEXAR..... no questions asked.... This is outstanding service!!! Well done Lexar.....Exceeded expectations!
Lexar's Pro Series is the way to go.......2006-08-22
Fast read/write times are a must for me. I am pleased so far with the card.
compact flash card.......2006-07-06
awesome product. fast data collection, and holds about 450 photos. i would purchase again.
An Executive Decision.......2006-07-03
Lexar Compact Flash Cards have a good reputation amongst many digital photography professionals. The "WA" (write-acceleration) feature provides added value to distance this card from the competition. Excellent return on investment! A MUST buy. ~"O"

Sandisk 8 Gb CF Card.......2007-09-13
I have been waiting to buy this card as I am upgrading to a larger resolution camera. I now have the capacity to not have to stop and along with the firewire reader I can download much faster.
Great Card for Underwater Pictures.......2007-09-08
We used the SanDisk 8 GB Extreme IV CompactFlash Card for all of the hundreds of underwater pictures that we took in Bonaire in August. The card was fast! I was able to take continuous action shots with my Sony F828 that I would have missed with my Memory Stick Pro.
Also, with 8 GB, we were able to fit two weeks of pictures on one card! We never had to worry about having enough room to fit that last great shot. We highly recommend this product.
The best will cost ya........2007-09-03
Hands down the most durable CF card out there, but certainly more $ than other brands and models. If you are an (extreme) shooter, this card will likely survive impacts that your camera won't, but if you're a more sullen photographer, save your $ and get an Ultra series card instead.
Ulta fast card - worth the price........2007-06-28
For those who takes a lot of high resolution and action shots this card is a must - was able to take 100 action photos with out having my Rebel XTi suffer a momentary stoppage - In the older Ultra II 8 gig card this action would have force me to break off my shots when its memery buffer couldn't handle the data transfer and storage. Great card - I just purchase my second card for my 2 week trip to Arizona.

Good all around card.......2007-05-13
CF cards from many of the major card manufactures all work fine of me. I bought this particular card because it was available for Prime shipping and I needed it fast.
excellent CF card.......2007-03-20
I have two CF cards from Kingston, both from the ElitePro line-up. I was happy with the first one and bought this 4GB card for that reason. I haven't been concerned with the 45X speed, it seems to keep up well with my Canon Rebel XT. It might be nice to have a faster card for action shots, but then again, for the price, you can't touch the value of this card.
Not an accessory, an investment.......2007-01-31
Holy bat stuffins Bat Man! Eighty-five million pictures, on one card. That's like eight hundred fifty-five thousand rolls of 35mm film! Okay, maybe I exagerated a bit, but you get the point. I had a nice little Olympus with the stock card. I'd use it to take pictures of my jobs, but found myself limited to around twenty photos, so I had to plan my shots and download every day. No more. I can shoot photos all week with this card (all run around 4megs each) and still barely dent the card's capacity. This will hold around four hundred high quality photos taken using my 8megapix toy. Life has changed, obviously, for the better. To put it in perspective, not having this card in my camera would be a little like putting a five and quarter inch blade on my commercial table saw.
It could be King.......2007-01-12
I like having my Kingston 4gb in my D200 as it gives me a hell of a lot more photos to take than my 1gb did at the best quality. I have not had any problems with it although I have heard there is sometimes writting problems with Kingston cards but for the money that i guess is a risk i am willing to take. For the price though it has shown to be above and beyond in its performance (as I compare it to my 1gb Lexar 80x) If I had the money I would have bought the best kind in my mind but my friend who uses only kingston suggested that I try one as they are well priced for their capacities. So I did and I have not had any problems yet and if need be I might buy another one of these cards in the future.
Perfect memory for my Canon XTi.......2007-01-03
Very fast access, which is very important I think since sometimes the scene will not wait for you. 4G capacity almost enough for one day shooting by taking about 400 raw images for my XTi.
