I love flash drives -- whoever created them should be sainted. But, this product is a flash drive... it works. You save stuff on it... so? My big problem is that the bloody cap is not connected to the drive... that'll take me about a month to lose (probably less... I'm trying to be optimistic). When will maufacturers of these wonderful little guys connect caps as a standard and apparently a small rivet or a 1" piece of nylon cord costs about $10 bucks to add to to these guys.

It does'nt work. It keeps asking to be formatted each time I plug it in. It looks cute, but it is totally useless. I keep formating and as soon as i pull it out and stick it back in , same thing happens again and again. What gives? What I am supposed to do? Any body can help me please.

Love this drive. First used it for weekly backups of all my data files. Then I switched it to use as an MP3 player (my little bookshelf stereo system has a USB port). The drive has over four hours of classical meditation music and there is still plenty of free space. It is one of the things that goes on the "best little investments" list!

The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Mini Flash Drive is pretty slow. It takes forever to write something to memory. It is also slow when you play things from it. Transfers often time one because it takes so long to write the files into the flash drive's memory. You get what you pay for. It is cheap, not that reliable, not good in a hurry, but ok if you just want to store non-vital things there. I use it to unload my Tivo whenever it gets too full. It holds 2 movies and a couple of shows at the lowest quality setting. It is an ok value, just don't put anythign of vital importance in it.

The flash drive is ok, I guess, but the item description CLAIMS that a USB cable is included which is a lie. The package the drive comes in is just big enough for the cable, so it's not like the package was only partly-filled. When I contacted Amazon about the problem they told me to contact the manufacturer, who finally responded 3-4 weeks later. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!

This USB barely lasted for two weeks, right after saving some files from a laptop computer the device completely stopped working and not it doesn't even turns on. However this one could be a defective model but as far as I got to use it for my college duties it was a big disapointment.

I received this 1GB drive for Christmas. I really wanted it because I update data all the time and didn't want to have to save it on every computer I use. After two weeks it just stopped working. The case got very warm and now my computer doesn't recognize it and says it has malfunctioned. I'm really not a happy camper, but it gets a 3 because I liked it while it was working. I hope the company can recover my data.
**EDIT**
I just wanted to add that it is now Feb. 6 and I still have not received my replacement. I have not been able to contact someone by phone who would help me. I keep getting sent to someone's voice mail and he never calls me back.

When I first got it, I was excited because the sound was great. I was using it to supplement the small stereo I had in my room. My wife took it for a jog. It worked great during the jog. The next time I tried to play a CD on it, did not work any more. Total amount of days with it... 4 days. It would not recognize as having a CD in it and it would not start. I am not sure if I would buy another from this company, I am thinking in buying something that would last more than a few days.

I never thought all cd players could be so different, but they are. Before this memorex, I had an RCA portable player and I liked it. 3 weeks after I bought the RCA, it had electrical problems and never ran again. I guess for the price, the memorex is a good deal, but lack of build quality REALLY SHOWS! First off, the colored part of the lid scratches very easy, even rubbing agains your clothes will put light marks in it. Opening the lid, you see a simple design inside that lacks engineering, but does the job.
Other than just apperance flaws, the player doesnt do well with CD's. If your lucky, the player will read a cd maybe 50% of the time. If the CD is slightly scratched, it has a tough time reading it. The ESP takes about a minute to load its 40 second buffer and while its doing this, you can hear skips if you bump the player. The headphones are aweful, but that didnt matter to me since I always use my good pair. Last but not least, the buttons feel cheap when pushed in.
On the good side, the batteries last FOREVER! (I seriously bought this player a month and a half ago and still have the original cheapo batteries in it! probably over 60 hours of playing time on two AA and no BATTERY LOW symbol yet), there are all the standard features such as shuffle, repeat 1/all, program, intro, and bass boot. All things considered, I might recommend this thing to people depending on what your needs were. If you want simplicity and are on a tight budget, buy it, otherwise look elsewhere.

It looks nice. JVC is the inventor of S-VHS, but this machine was so frustrating, I took it back within 48 hours. Programming was difficult to trudge through. The remote is one of the worst I have seen (extremely poor ergonomics). A very unfriendly machine to use.
If you really want S-VHS try one from Sony or a high brand like Denon or Mitsubishi.

You will have to select which input in the menu, so if you were to plug in an S-video signal, it won't just automatically recognize it which is pretty lame when you want to switch between TV and other signals. Quality of picture recording is okay, but I've seen better elsewhere, especially in Sony's. All in all, I really don't like it. There are numerous little quirky things that just irritate me.
Good Value SVHS deck...........2001-12-18
This deck really shines when recording in SVHS mode...almost looks as good as DVD quality on my Panasonic TAU monitor (progressive scanning). Plays back tapes from other machines perfectly...everytime! My negative nit-picking list: like every VCR under $750, it is basically lightweight plastic, not a sturdy metal case. And why did they not include an SVHS jack on the front (it is available on the next model up)...it would have cost about another .20 cents! Finally...lots of advertising on the tape hinge (SuperVHS, Plug & Play, etc.), but this is easily fixed by masking the area around it & applying a coat of silver spray paint (smile)! Over-all, I am very picky & this is a good VCR.
Super Price on Super VHS Technology.......2001-12-15
This is an excellent VCR to fit into home theater systems...and you can't beat the price...
1) It has S-Video out which looks great, and pretty good picture quality even if S-Video is not used.
2) Sound quality is great. I upgraded to a Dolby Pro Logic II receiver recently, and VHS tapes that sounded pathetic (essentially mono with the occassion sound effect here and there) on my older VCR and Pro Logic system now have soundtracks that are closer to Dolby 5.1 (though still nowhere near as good).
3) You can avoid macrovision and record DVD to VHS. I have component video going from my dvd player to my toshiba widescreen tv, and then S-Video (and stereo audio) going from my DVD-player to the JVC VCR. If i want to make a copy, i just hit play on the DVD, and record on the VCR. If you use SVHS tapes (which arent compatible with regular VCR's, but give substantially better picture quality), this VCR can give you a very good copy of a DVD that is a good movie, but isnt quite worth buying. (Cost of this is about $5 for the tape and rental as opposed to $20 buying it brand new).
I was very pleased to figure this out. I am not sure whether DVD player manufacturers choose not to output macrovision through the S-Video Jack, or whether this VCR merely ignores or doesnt recognize macrovision. I have heard that other SVHS VCR's allow you to copy DVD ==> VHS, so my guess would be that it is the S-Video connection and not the player that allows me to do it. But for anyone who is possibly looking into DVD-Recorders that can cost you (a lot of money) and is still in its primitive stages, you might want to look in to this VCR first, as it is (much cheaper) and can give you just a slightly lower quality duplication.

Big, Loud.......2005-07-20
These speakers are huge, big and loud. Did I mention they were loud?
The cabinets are thinly constructed and very light but still seem to be stiff and sufficient to dampen the monstrous 15" woofer's vibration, though the back does reverberate a bit when you have the volume up. The depth of the speaker is oddly narrow so they're easy to tip over, be careful. The front removeable cover is no-frills black cloth and the speaker is quite understated, which is a good thing since they're huge.
Pair these up with a good 100+ watt/ch amplifier and you don't need a subwoofer.

This is a pretty poor listing. No information. So let me provide it to you: This is a dual format DVD writer, which writes both + and -R/RW media. Here are the maximum write speeds:

Decent specs. This is (or has been, probably still is) a rebadged NEC 1300A drive. Very good drive, with good compatibility.
This drive also comes with a nice basket of software:
Iomega HotBurn® Pro for DVD/CD burning; Sonic MyDVD and Cineplayer for video authoring, editing and playback; Iomega Automatic Backup for file backups onto any of the DVD or CD disc format.
At the time of this writing, there is a rebate available on this drive. Click on the "new and used" link in the Amazon main listing, and then go to the J&R listing where they have a link to the rebate. The rebate is a generic Iomega rebate, not exclusive to J&R.
