Shipped as a pair, the speakers are ready-made for stereo or left/right surround-sound applications. They come with a mounting template and are finished in white to match most ceilings. You can paint the grilles and frames, too.Each NX-60C is outfitted with a 6.5-inch, mica-filled, polycarbonate cone woofer with a durable rubber surround. For a tweeter, both speakers use a pivoting .75-inch liquid-cooled, titanium-dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet. The tweeters even pivot so you can focus their output toward a desired listening area.
With in-ceiling speakers, the ceiling and the space behind it actually serve as a speaker cabinet, resonating with lower (bass) frequencies that would be lost without the focusing a cabinet provides. As such, the speaker depth is just 3 inches, yet they still deliver an impressive 55 to 21,000 Hz frequency response. Mounted flush to the ceiling, they occupy absolutely no shelf space. This discreet, compact format is perfect for applications where traditional speakers would be impractical or impossible--or simply unsightly.
The speakers' sensitivity is rated at 90 dB (1 watt @ 1 meter), which means they're easily driven; NXG recommends use with integrated amplifiers or surround receivers up to 80 watts (maximum) per channel. The speakers sound great on their own, but you can also use them as secondary speakers to bring music from your living-room system to additional rooms in the house.
NXG recommends using a minimum of 16-gauge speaker wire for all installations, keeping in mind that gauge decreases as the wire thickens (i.e. 14-gauge wire is thicker than 16-gauge wire).

All Data Express models feature a front-accessible key lock which secures the carrier within the receiving frame. A variety of DE100 model numbers are available which support Ultra ATA/100 (including ATA/133) and versions that support SCSI Wide Ultra160 applications. Some DE100 carrier models support 80-pin single-connect (SCA) SCSI drive types. Options are available for an enhanced, bus-isolating "hot swap" capability (SCSI models) and/or a solenoid drive lock. Data Express is a product line of drive carriers and receiving frames which are compatible with SCSI or AT/IDE drive types and system interfaces. These modular subsystems house 3.5 inch hard disk or 3.5 inch front-loading tape, floppy, floptical, or optical devices for mounting into any 5.25 inch full or half-height storage drive bay.In operation, the Data Express SCSI receiving frame and certain IDE receiving frames, define the specific address of the drive.
