The speaker--which is packaged singly--is equipped with dual 8-inch injection-molded polypropylene cone woofers with rubber surrounds that handle the lows and mids, along with a 1-inch Teteron dome tweeter that reproduces amazingly crisp, detailed highs. The AS-F2.2 excels because of its elite cabinet design and quality driver construction. The speaker is made of medium-density fiberboard (MDF), a dense, consistent wood material that ensures both great sound and minimum resonance. The MDF front baffle is also specially shaped to improve the dispersion and highlight the speaker aesthetics. Great sound at a great price.......2007-09-10

I bought these without ever hearing them. I had read a few reviews and they were recomended by a couple of knowledgeable friends so I took a chance. I'm glad I did, these speakers sound as good as speakers costing $1500 or more. They sounded a little edgy right out of the box and the bass response was a little light but as they break in (50 - 100 hours)the sound becomes more refined. Clean, crisp highs, detailed mid range and tight, fast bass. Imaging just keeps getting better. They're not completely broken in yet but they're still worth twice what I paid for them. I think I may need a new preamp to really explore their capabilities.

I've owned these speakers (as part of an Athena 5.1 speaker package) for over 3 years. I've been extremely pleased with the performance I've received. These speakers are attractive, and do a great job at both audio and home theater playback. For their price these speakers can't be touched. Of course, there are also plenty of professional reviews of these speakers online, all very glowing.

Good Speaker, Bad Vendor.......2007-08-15

The Athena AS-F2.2 is a great speaker. It has a full range, evenly balanced bass, mid range, and treble. It plays loud cleanly and in my living room matched with the center speaker. I have a Yamaha NS series set of speakers for the surrounds - right, center, and left - and three subwoofers that are powered from different amplifiers.

But, the Athena AS-F2.2 speakers arrived with damage to the cabinets in the form of scratches and crushed corners - damages that had no effect on their playing but destroyed any hopes I might have had for selling them to someone else if I chose to upgrade or change them at a later date. And, I couldn't get the seller to respond to either phone calls or emails, even though their web site was running at they were still selling through Amazon. I saved a little over the price for these from AudioAdvisor, broke even by the time shipping was included, and received two cosmetically-damaged speakers.

Great bang for buck!.......2007-07-13

Spent over a year and a half setting my home theater. Ended up going with a full Athena Audition series setup.

Just purchased the F2.2's last week, the clarity is amazing. Still allowing proper break in so I haven't tested higher volumes yet. The sound is very crisp, I did notice that the trebles are a little harsh but I noticed that with the B1.2's as well during break in. They will smooth out after awhile. I gave it a 4, not due to sound quality, but they are a little too big for my taste. Visually stunning, but can't get over its girth! Build quality looks good, although for more money, you can get better looking speakers. Bang for buck, this speaker takes the cake! If not in performance, at least in size!

Great bang for the buck.......2007-02-12

I replaced my JBL bookshelf speakers with the Athena F2.2 floor models and couldn't be happier. We moved into a new home 10 months ago and we wanted to go with a floor speaker to accommodate the larger room. After listening to other brands (JBL, Klipsch, etc) at the local stores and researching speakers online, I decided to take a chance on the Athenas, even though I wasn't able to audition them. I've had them for 8 months now and I'm pleased very with my decision. As has been mentioned, they are a little harsh sounding at first, but after the break-in period, they really smoothed out. I find that they give me a very true sound that doesn't vary much as I change the volume - very even sounding is the best way I can put it. I'm still using a JBL sub, but I'm running it pretty low these days. I don't need it nearly as much as I did with the old bookshelf speakers.

I highly recommend you do some research online before you buy. There are better speakers out there, but I seriously doubt you'll find anything better at this price point. Take a chance on the Athenas. Follow the break-in instructions. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this camera because I have been switching back and forth between a Pentax zoom camera I won in a drawing and my six-year-old date-stamp Konica. I had finally had it. I wanted a camera that could zoom AND date stamp at the same time without me having to resort to my digital camera all the time. I'm a member of Amex's membership rewards program and one of their rewards is this camera. I compared it with the other Konica cameras of its caliber. I researched it in contrast to other companies' offerings for similar systems. .... I received the camera right before we went on vacation to CA. Can I just say that I *LOVE* this camera! It's light, easy to use, and takes great photos! The only way they could make it better would be if it had greater zoom capacity and I could see the photo before it was written to the film. If you're on a tight budget, yet don't want your camera to look like you are, then this is the camera for you. And if you can use gift certificates and coupons to get it through Amazon.com, all the better!!

Generally not worth the savings; go for the flash........2006-08-30

I work at a professional photofinishing lab, and I can attest to the quality of the film inside this camera. The Kodak Max Outdoor camera produces mediocre results in all but the brightest of sunlight.

Even for outdoor shots, a flash can really help boost image quality. As an example, using a flash when your subject is against a bright background will prevent your subject from appearing too dark.

Unless you are shooting landscapes or landmarks (with nobody in front of them), you should go for the extra versatility offered by the Kodak FunSaver or PowerFlash cameras.

I know this one is $3.00 less than the flash version, but I think you'll like the quality of the pictures with the flash disposable better. You can use the flash for outdoor pictures as well as for indoor ones, and they tend to come out better. Plus you have the option of using it indoors at the end of the day. Reasonable picture quality *for the price* - if you wanna take photos for National Geographic, you'll need to pay a bit more than $6.00 for your camera! :)

I've been through two of these drives (IOGear Ion Combo 250GB) in the past 10 days. The first arrived DOA. no big deal, it happens. I ordered the second one from amazon.com, just to start completely fresh, and it stopped working after 5 MINUTES!!!

a call to tech support got me even more mad. their solution was to swap drives with me. sounds fair. until i found out it was going to take AT LEAST 10 DAYS FOR THEM TO SHIP IT OUT while they "work on some drives there!" so i'm supposed to wait around for them to fix up a refurbished drive and ship it to me in replacement of a drive i paid full price for?

i don't think so.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM IOGEAR. 3 year warranty or not, you will be sorry!
