Avoid Audiovox.......2006-05-16

I actually do not own this model, I have an earlier model VE-500A 5" LCD under cabinet TV. The picture was great and the sound is good. However, it was working well just long enough to go beyond the 90-day warranty. Now, here is how it works: 1/3 of the screen is lighter than the rest; after 15-20 minutes the picture goes totally white (but I still get sound at least). To get the picture back, I have to turn it off and let it "cool down" for 20-30 mins. Then I'll get the picture for another 15-20 minutes before it goes white again.
I called their Tech Support and to have it repaired out of warranty would cost a flat rate of $130, and would only get another 90-day warranty on the repairs. For $130 I could buy a new one. I hesitate to replace it with any TV because I am not too keen on the idea of drilling more holes in my cabinet.

Don't waste your money on this item!.......2006-05-07

We recently did an extensive remodel of our kitchen and thought this would be a great addition. Unfortunately, as soon as we drilled the holes in our new cabinets to install it, we were sorry. The sound quality is so poor we had to turn it up full volume to understand it, and then it rattles. Note: the advertised size of the screen is not the picture you actually get - it's 2" smaller and poor quality. The 90-day warranty just ran out and the picture wouldn't come on unless you tapped the box. Now it won't come on at all. I would say this is an expensive disposable tv.

After hooking up the TV to cable was disappointed with picture quality even after adjusting it with the contols on the side of the screen.
The radio does not work. But that was not the reason I purchased a TV.

I got this tv to watch while on my treadmill and it's fit in well for that space. The picture is not the best but is watchable. The only thing I would like better is to have headphones so that I can hear it above the treadmill without having to have the volume up so loud, there is no headphone jack. I love the drop down screen and that you can turn it to any angle to watch. For the price it was a decent purchase.

THis TV is working great so far. It is a real space saver for a small kitchen. It is an LCD screen so sometimes as you change the angle from which you see it , the picture quality varies. But overall, we are very happy with it. We haven't even played the radio yet, but it is there.

I do not recommend this product. I bought two of these items. As soon as I took it out of the box it I noticed that the plastic was separating on both items. I had to glue the items together and clamp it down so it would not separate, very poor quality product.

If you favor a sleek look, modest sound, lots of features, and a bargain price in your music machine, the Koss PC 68 CD boombox is a good bet. Tastefully designed in silver and black, this boombox has curvaceous lines, a disappearing handle, and nice metal grille.

Rap lovers will probably find the box's bass inadequate, even with the 7-watt superwoofer cranked to the max. But for playing wide-open pop, jazz, country, and folk, the PC 68's sound is reasonably detailed and natural. The bass is decently articulated; guitars, pianos, cymbals, and steel drums sound reasonably accurate; and saxes show some sass. With a good set of headphones, music on the Koss PC 68 sounds even better.

Running the show is a low-key exercise. Thanks to the well-designed (and color-coordinated) infrared remote control, you can skip across the digitally tuned AM/FM radio bands. In fact, you can program up to 20 station presets and access them via the unified up/down/search/skip toggle button on the remote. Other controls on the remote manipulate volume, switch the radio band between FM and AM, and instantly mute the sound.

A multitude of rubbery controls on the remote--duplicated on the face of the box--are dedicated to operating the top-loading CD player. Tap the Intro button, and the player automatically delivers just the first 10 seconds of each track on a CD. This feature is useful when you're searching for a particular song or want to quickly audition an unfamiliar disc.

The built-in tape deck, also top loading, lets you make custom-mixed tapes from CD or radio. The tape deck is basic--there's no Dolby noise reduction, auto-reverse, or remote-controllable operations--but it gets the job done. For best recording results, use a name-brand, normal-grade ferrous-oxide tape. More expensive varieties will actually sound poorer because the tape deck is equalized for Normal/Type I cassettes.

With a fair amount of metal on board and solid construction throughout, this Koss has more heft to it than other boomboxes in the same size range. When loaded up with eight D-cell batteries, it can seem a little heavy when you're lugging it around by the handle.

Love it, love it, love it. For your money, this CD boombox is at the top of the list. Over the years I have owned many Koss products, and several other brands that were a lot more expensive. Would I switch to another manufacturer - no way! Nothing beats a Koss for quality, sound and durability. No wonder it is difficult for retailers to keep this product in stock!

I bought two of these for my 12 and 17 year old daughters, and they love them. The digital tuner with 10 AM and 10 FM presets lets them program in their favorite stations, and the remote then lets them channel surf from station to station avoiding commercials and looking for their favorite songs without having to sit next to the box and push buttons on it. Same is true for flipping around tracks on a CD with the remote. Nice sound for a unit in this price range.

I own this player, Koss Headphones, and a set of Koss loudspeakers and love them all. Top quality and sound. The only gripe I have is one I have with ALL boomboxes. Loading doors on top. When are the designers going to figure out that the top, where they almost always place the loading doors, is where all the dust and dirt gather. Flat smooth top for cleaning and front load for keeping the inside clean. Please!!

it worked beautifully for like 5 months, then one day it suddenly broke. So I turned it on, got past the samsung logo and how much free space i had, then it just shut off and kept repeating that process. anyone know what's wrong with it? I purchased it overseas, so there was no point in trying to get it reparied or returned. Very upset and i don't recommend this player to anyone.

Good mini MP3.......2005-04-13

I bought this unit as a pocket MP3 player + FM tuner. It is a solid unit ... I sent it through the washing machine with no ill effects.

Excellent sound. Only issue I have is battery life is < 10 hours on a new alkaline battery.

Good starter mp3 player.......2005-04-01

This is my first mp3 player. I have seen and used other ones but this one is by far the best for its sise. I am going to review it in the following catigorys.

Durability: I have had this thing for 9 months, and I use this thing abusevly. Some times after droping it from about three feet/meter some of the songs begin to skip. But this can be solved by deleting the song and then resync the song back to the yepp.

Buttons: You have to be pretty thick to not understand how the butons work. There is a joystick on the front which skips songs and changes volume. On the top there is a hold button, this makes it to where even if you press alot of buttons it will still be playing the same song. Play/Pause Button, nothing complicated here. A-B button, this is one of the wierdest things I've seen. What it does is while a song is playing you press A once, then after any time you want press B once, then you will only hear the song between point A to point B, you press the A-B button to get it back to normal. And a record buton. Press it once to record, press it again to stop.

Software: I use my player by riping CD's and playing them on my yepp, I never download music. So after about an hour of tring to use the yepp software I gave up. Lucky for me the yepp works on WMP 9 and WMP 10, so it wasnt much of a problem after that. For using it on Windows Media I have encounterd no problems at all.

Song Playback: The sound quality is average. But you realy cant complain when your mp3 player can be used as a keychain. The only complaint I have with it is you can't put your songs in any order. And I dont think any thing you do can change that. You can however number your songs to the order you want. As for the display the only problem I have with that is the three bar batery display. When its on the last bar you don't know if you have 3 min. or 3 hours.

Overal: I highly recomend this mp3 player. I do not recomend it if you have over a gig of songs however.

Teenie Tiny and Very Simple to Use.......2005-03-13

The size of the player is absolutely miniscule. It's like a short lighter and a bit fatter. Putting songs onto the device is very simple. You can literally drag the files from your computer onto the "Removable Storage" icon that pops up in My Computer when you plug the player in via the USB port.

The sound quality depends on what bit-rate you use for the music, but it's capable of great sound and even has different types of sound options if you like a certain type of sound (base, normal, vocal, etc.).

The only drawback is (as others have mentioned) that the player automatically plays the songs in alpha order. Since you can't really put too many songs on here anyway, I've gotten around it by just naming the songs "01 - Singer - Song Title" after I've dragged them onto the player. They'll play in number order then. Bit of a pain, but minor since you won't have to do this for 10,000 songs.

I'm very pleased with mine. Easy to use and good sound. Great for exercisers and gym rats who don't want to carry around a gigantic CD player or a heavier MP3 device.

A Little Blue Wonder.......2005-02-20

This is a great little MP3 player to use during a daily commute that's small enough to completely hide in the palm of your hand.

No, it doesn't have the capacity of larger players or the clone-ish panache of the ubiquitous white iPod set but it does an honest job with ease of use and great sound (toss the ear buds that come with the unit and get a pair that sound good to you -- I use a pair of "The Bud" from Koss for great bass response).

Plug the unit into your computer and it shows up as a removable drive. Fill up the drive with MP3 or WMA files (I can fit about 60-70 wma files on the unit) and you're ready to go. The player also has a handy voice recorder for those impromptu sound bytes.

The 5-direction joystick is not hard to master and once your songs are loaded navigating through your music is instinctive. The display is essential to work through the menu trees when you want to adjust the player's audio or display settings.

The removable AAA battery means you'll never have to run out of juice when in the middle of your commute. Just pop in that spare battery carried along for just these types of emergencies and you're back online in less than a minute.

This player is not for audiophiles or for those with 30,000 song libraries, and it doesn't pretend to be, but for those who want a simple well built MP3 player with great sound quality.

I used this to run a second feed for my dual tuner TiVO. I ran it under my baseboards, out a window, down the side of the house and into the basement. Picture quality is superb, you don't even see it snaking down the drain pipe and it is so thin that it really does hide well under the baseboards and behind the drain pipe. It sure beat drilling holes in the wall and fishing wire through.
