Like every other Belkin product I've owned, this is a well-designed, handsome USB hub. I'm using two of these at the present time. While they may be a bit more expensive than other products, they are worth the difference.

It does the job. It came chipped (damaged in shipment?) which I touched up with automotive paint, rather than the hassle of returns and disputes. Other then that, it's perfect and a great solution to USB chaos.

I purchased a new Imac from apple a couple months ago. I transport alot of data back and forth on my flash drive. Having to turn my computer around everytime I needed to use my flash drive was getting kinda old. So I looked up a usb hub. As soon as I saw this one, with the top load for flash drives, I knew this was the one I wanted. Not to mention Belkin makes very good stuff. I love this usb hub, I use it everyday. Great product, and very fast shipping from amazon.

We have six computers in our house and we own 3 of these Belkin Hi Speed USB Ports.
I don't know all the technical aspects of why we Love them but my son does and he would not buy anything else.
We just purchased our third one on Amazon and he had me search for this particular model.
We had others in the past some of which were cheaper,
but in the computer world I noticed you get what you pay for,
so why buy stuff that that is either low quality or does not last.

Beautiful but unreliable.......2007-01-20

I have five USB hubs, and this is by far the least reliable. Especially when bringing my PC out of standby mode, this hub powers itself down and/or loses its connection to one or more devices. It's a shame, because I really appreciate the number and layout of the ports. Larger USB devices (such as some flash drives) don't bump into each other.

I've used a lot of hubs over the years including the stackable USB Hub Station (a disaster) and this is thge best. Solid reliable and the best part stackable. I've had one for the past year, and just ran out of spaces, so I'm buying another.

I bought and installed this for a client yesterday. I was very impressed with both the layout of the hub and its performance. It works very well with the ancient computer I put it on and it keeps all the cords very organized. I really like how I can plug in more permanent items in the back like the printer and digital camera and iPod and then the top is used for temporary things like flash drives and such. The hub handles both 2.0 and 1.1 devices perfectly as well, and is plug and play. Also, I was glad to see the lighting on the front of the hub - there is a light for each port and when there is activity, the lights flash. This will help users who aren't quite so computer knowledgable to see if their device is sending/receiving information or not, etc.

Fast, capable floppy drive.......2006-12-18

I got a Memorex USB floppy drive locally and the box is slightly different, but it is probably the same item. For the record, the part number on mine is 3202 3239. With that caveat, I would say that this drive is quite nice (assuming the one shown here is identical). Mine has a built-in USB cable, about 2 foot long. It was recognized without trouble by Windows XP. And the best thing is that it is fast in both reading and writing. While I have not done a careful comparison, I would estimate it is maybe a 2X. I can at least say that my unit is NOT one of those slow internal floppy drives that goes click, pause, click, pause, as it glacially writes a large file, nor rrrwww, click, rrrwww, click as it tries to seek to the file allocation table when accessing multiple files. It acts much more like the 4X floppy I once used in a Sony digital camera (perhaps the speed improvement in this USB unit is simply a result of the USB channel the data goes through compared to the old ribbon cable port on built-in floppy drives...).
The two minor negatives I can think of are that it is a little loud and Windows refused to dismount it when I selected "safely remove hardware" from the task-bar. The former is not an issue in my application and I solved the latter by just pulling the USB cable after waiting for all activity to stop. A few tests of using it again showed that I had not upset the driver. It worked fine.
In summary - it is very capable and I plan to buy another soon for work since we have lots of expensive test equipment that writes screen captures to floppies and I fear that floppies are not long for this world - so I'm stocking up now :-)

Easy to add floppy capability.......2004-03-02

Many of the newer laptops don't come with floppy drives. Supporting users who require floppy use but have no floppy drive can be difficult. Memorex's 3.5 external USB floppy drive is easy to use, at an affordable price. No software needed (at least not for the latest Windows OS and Mac OS systems.) It was immediately recognized by the system, and useable. (Insert USB cable into system, insert floppy into drive, browseable floppy!)

This product is especially good in that it means multiple people can share the drive as needed rather than wasting space and weight lugging around a laptop with the added feature.

Increase Color but not decrease.......2002-01-05

Some function work and some don't. On control of TV cannel up and down as well as volume up and down work ok but the control of menu of color increase or any other function worked to incease but would not allow decrease. I have another unit to access the function this one doesn't work and between the to controls I am able to operate. In other words the R- function of the controler does not work.

There are much better remotes on the market. I mistakenly purchased this one because of it's claimed functions and it's price tag. It does a poor job of controlling any newer components and seems to be suited for OLD electronics without menu's or navigation controls, and if you have a Dolby Digital Reciever... forget about it... BAD

Bad design, spotty compatibility.......2000-04-16

Stay away from this one. While it did control my Aiwa shelf system, Sony DVD, RCA VCR, and Philips TV, it only supported some features of each and not others. On my TV menu, it would scroll through menu items one way, but not the other. When controlling the stereo, I also had to press the volume button about 100 times in rapid succession to get the volume knob to inch up just a bit. It also would "forget" which mode it was on, meaning I had to press the button for another component and then go back to the one I wanted.

Also - REAL bad design. The channel buttons are on the bottom, meaning that many times I had to channel surf using 2 hands because there wasn't enough room to hold the entire remote and press the buttons at the same time.

Why, Jensen, why?.......2000-04-12

This just goes to show you that even a little research pays off. This remote looks very nice and is backlit, but it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. It wouldn't work for my Denon AVR-3300 ( a very popular receiver) or my Sony MiniDisc deck or my Apex DVD player. Jensen support consists of a message board where everyone wants to know why the remote won't control anything. I came across a great site called RemoteCentral and there was a HUGE thread of users of the RadioShack 15-1994. Controls all my stuff and the code and internet support is very good. And it has macros! Backlit too! Only controls six devices though. But if you can get this remote to control that many you are lucky.

Not for DVD players.......2000-02-24

I agree w/the previous review - the remote does not operate the menus on my Toshiba or Pioneer DVD player. You'll get play, rew, for, pause, on/off, maybe subtitles and precious few other one button functions - same as cheaper remotes.

VCR and TV functions are covered well (both Toshibas). You can actually program your VCR w/it unlike some of the other cheap remotes. PIP too.

The 590's got big backlit buttons , but the layout isn't the greatest and the buttons don't always register even when pressing hard. Backlighting isn't as great a feature as I thought - sometimes you hit the wrong button just to get it to flash and then it flashes too briefly as you're racing to find the right button. Forget using it in a darkened room.

A Very basic remote. Cheaper ones do the same for DVD and receivers (Onkyo).Better than average for VCR and TV. Backlighting more of a gimmick than feature.

Great monitor for great price.......2005-01-17

I bought my 170N for the PC I was building, and I've yet to regret my purchase. The thin bezel makes it look expensive compared to monitors with loads of plastic around them. The colors are beautiful. However, the whites look silver and vice-versa often. Black looks glitchy but it doesn't deter from performance really. It does go into an energy-save mode, which is a plus. Overall, good buy.

I bought this monitor to replace a 19" CRT. I bought this particular monitor because of an April 3, 2003 review in PC Magazine on flat panel displays. This was viewed as what "should be your next display," ranked #1 among all of those reviewed. Somehow, in this very short couple of months, there is now a 171N and 172N (for more money). This 170N remains terrific. This was a good choice.

Regarding the CRT contrast: Powered by a Thinkpad 21, I could only get 8 bit color at 1200x1600 and only 16-bit color at 1280x1024. On this Samsung, I get 1280x1024 at 16bit. The screen is *very* bright, actually too bright at anything other than the lowest settings.
